  • 6520: scan to computer currently unavailable

I have a Photosmart6520.  I constantly get the message 'Scan to computer currently unavailable. "  I get the message when I'm put in place through the USB and wireless.  In addition, the message box indicates that I won't be able to "run a scan from the printer.

There is an option to disable this feature.  What are the risks if I disable the function?  What is the purpose of this feature?

There has been no change to the system.  It's my second 6520 in four months, and two printers have this message.  I am a user of Windows 7.  Thank you.

    Hi GoingBaroque,

I understand that you get the message 'Scan to computer currently unavailable. "

I'll be happy to help you.

You need to enable the analysis to manage the connection to the computer.

I have provided a document for a "connection error" or "no found computer" Error Message appears when trying to scan from the printer control panel to fix this.

    Hope that solves your problem.

  • 3512 - wireless - Scan for HP computer unavailable

Just bought this printer today and installed. It is connected to my wireless network. I ping the printer, I can access the configuration of the printer via IP address, I can print from my computer and ePrint. well, everything seems to work except 1 annoying problem.

Scan to computer does not work. When I open the Scan to the computer in my system tray, I get the message "Scan of the computer is currently unavailable.". I restarted my computer, restarted the printer and nothing. When I select scan from the screen of the printer, I don't see my computer.

Am I missing something? I have my printer connected to my computer via USB for this to work?

Note: I am running Windows 8 Enterprise. Not sure if this makes a difference or not.

    Thank you.

I can run a scan of my computer (W7) but if I try to run an analysis of the device shows the name of my computer in the list, he said that "without a computer.

If I try to install the Scan of the computer I get a message saying 'Scan to computer's currently unavailable... Your printer has reached its limit of the computer's connections.  Scan of the computer will not be available until another computer disconnects. »

He shows me a list of computers, many of which are offline or have been removed from our office.

How can I force the device to drop connections?

    Hi JWMM,

    Follow the steps below

    1. unplug the printer for 1 to 2 minutes

    2. make sure that the power is connected directly to the wall outlet when you plug the printer back in.

I would like to know if you are able to activate scan of the computer?

  • Scan to computer inavailable

    Hello

I have two HP Officepro 8625 in two places.  I have a Dell laptop, running Windows 7 to use in two places.

My 8625 office displays a message "Scan of the computer is currently unavailable."

Printing work OK, but when I try to copy a document he cut half of it.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the latest drivers, always 'no joy'.

    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

    Hi @KT168,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I see that you are unable to scan with your printer HP Officepro 8625. I will definitely do my best to help you.

Software Printer Setup &-> click on Manage scan of the computer-> click Activate Scan to computer.

Try disabling the firewall and anti-virus.

I would like to do a hard reset to see if that will solve the problem.
Let the printer and disconnect the printer cable and the wall socket for 60 seconds.
Reconnect the power cable to the output of the printer and the wall, and not a surge protector.
This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.

    • Make sure that the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (do not use a hub or a surge protector) This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.

    Restart the computer.

Try to activate the scan of the computer again.

Please try scanning using the analysis of the HP.  What were the results?

Please download and run the print and Scan doctor, it will be probably diagnose and fix the problem you are experiencing.

What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (she print or scan, error messages)

Here is a document that I recommend that you try, HP printers - a Communication or connection error displayed when scanning.

Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting. I can't wait to hear strings attached good luck!

  • How can I avoid firefox reset my browser preferences when my antivirus software scans my computer

Starting on 19/02/2013 every time that my antivirus software scans my computer (per day), various Firefox browser preferences are being reset. (It seems that Firefox can be reset to the default value.) My home page is reset to mozilla etc...

I have reset Firefox, un-installed and re-installed Firefox to no avail.
Each time the computer is scanned my browser preferences are lost.

    The following information system:
    Windows 7 pro 64-bit
    AVG antivirus 2013 current build.

    Firefox v19.

I don't remember anyone to another report that AVG has done this. In fact, it would be useful to know exactly what did AVG. Your home page is stored in a file named prefs.js in your personal settings Firefox (your Firefox profile folder). It deletes this file? Replacement of a 'clean' copy it right? He characterizes the read-only file so that your changes are not saved between sessions?

Could you make a backup copy of your profile folder if you have around comparison after running the analysis? You will need to store on a USB key and it is not be analyzed, too.

To access this folder, you can use

Help > troubleshooting information > "view file" button.

Navigate from one level to Ctrl + drag the folder to the destination of the copy.

  • "Scan to computer is enabled no longer."

After the upgrade to Windows 10 I continually get this message, "Scan to computer is no longer enabled.  I disabled "Scan to Computer" network printer and ran print and scan doctor and you have restarted the computer and the printer. I always get the sporadic message. It is very annoying.

Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

I should be able to provide suggestions!  Looks like that a little a problem with the software and scanning to the message from the computer.  When you disable the scan of the computer should be a checkbox bellow the button.  The box should say something like "Automatically start scan of the computer" when I log on Windows Make sure that this box is NOT checked.

If the above suggestion already exists and you are still having the problem then I suggest that you uninstall the HP software. Once the uninstall is complete, it would be wise to perform a cleanup of the computer disk. A disk cleanup will improve the performance of the computer and remove the temporary files that may cause problems during the installation of the software. Once disk cleanup you must restart the computer and reinstall the HP software.

To uninstall the HP software, click here: uninstall the HP software

To perform a disk cleanup, click here: Windows Disk Cleanup (same steps for Windows 10) 8.1

To download the HP software, click here: HP Officejet 6500 has more full feature software and driver

  • "Scan to computer" the printer only works for admins

HP Officejet 6700, OS X Lion. Latest version of the software.

Only admin users can scan the printer using the screen touch "Scan to Computer".  The non-admin users get communication errors. The computer is listed and after choosing works very well if the admin user is the active connection. But if a standard user is the current user, then it does not work. Scanning HP utility does not connect on the standard user account to "Activate the Scan of the computer". That translates into a communication error. But return to the admin, and it connects.

Surely, it works in a context of user multi for non-admins. Do the other admin users is not an option.

Standard users can use the HP scanning app on the computer, but the family loves the conveinence of the button "Scan of the computer. Its a nice feature. But seems broken.

Fixed it! I just needed you to give me advice in the right direction. File on the file plist property seemed incorrect, so I changed to match the other hp plist file:

    -rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 673 com.hp.messagecenter.launcher.plist January 19, 2010
    iMac27:LaunchAgents pdivita$ sudo chown root: wheel com.hp.devicemonitor.plist

    -rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 673 com.hp.messagecenter.launcher.plist January 19, 2010

He now works in any account. Possible sound when I tried to fix my problem of no printing in January, one of the suggestions involved edit this file plist for HP Device monitor has not started, because it has been reported to cause problems in the past. Too bad repair disk permissions did not catch it. Thank you very much. Scan of the computer is a nice feature. Hello

First, make sure you have the latest firmware installed as follows:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/product/HP-OfficeJet-Pro-8600-plus-e-all-in-one-printer-series---N911/4322915/model/4323647/document/c02919168/

    Then, try the following:

    1. Of the printer, click on the right arrow / left and press the ion of the configuration of the printer.
    2. Select Network Configuration.
    3. Select direct Wireless Configuration.
    4. Ensure the Direct wireless is enabled and take one step of his password if such a value.
    5. Click on the WiFi icon from your Mac and connect to the SSID 8600 spirit "live / Print" in its name.
    6. Go to System Preferences > print and scan and click on the plus sign to add the printer - you see it listed as Hello via the direct wireless connection?

Please let me know the results, if it not listed as Hello with Direct wireless, which clearly show that the new router interrupts the multicast connection, this is the same as the connection through a different router.

On your screenshot, it seems that your router do not transfer packets to multicast to the need...

Computer and printer connected wireless.  Prints and copies fine. Scan initiated computer very well.  The problem is during a scan of the e series WANT 7640.  It will scan pages 2 and after that, the analysis fails.  The network is fine.  The software is up to date; uninstalled and reinstalled.  The printer was unplugged for 3 minutes and restarted.  So far, no treatment of discussion online.  I need to be able to launch an analysis of two sources; the purpose of my purchase.  Thanks for any help.

    1. Disconnect the power from your router for 10 seconds, plug back in and allow the router up to 3 minutes to start.
    2. Restart both the printer and then the Mac.

  • Scan to computer need help

    Hello

I have a little problem with my printer HP Deskjet 3050 a J611. I'll try to explain my best. I managed to install my printer and everything works fine apart from when I turn on my laptop the Scan to my laptop computer function causes to continue looking for the printer every few seconds (when the printer is powered off). I know that it is looking that the arrow on the screen continues to spin in a circle like the laptop did something in the background. As well, when I click in the toolbar and open Scan to computer he explains he will keep looking for the printer that is currently offline. It is not a huge problem, but annoys me as it does constantly, I realized that the analysis of the it function adds 2 additional programs to my startup programs. Rundll32 and HP Imaging. If I disable the beginning upward then the problem disappears, apart from the fact that there is no computer scan to option now that it is off to start. I can't understand how simply turn Scan to computer on or off from my laptop? I am running Windows 7 64 bit. Not that I think it would be serious?

    Hope it makes sense?

    Badjester,

    Hi Breezy52,

I wanted to stop and add my comments that @HevnLgh is missing currently.

I checked the drivers on the site hp.com for your Officejet 8610. There is no feature complete drivers and the software for Sierra. I'm not sure if or when they will, however, you can consult the site regularly to see if they are released.

Up here, you will not be able to scan using the HP software and will need to continue to use your work around option. I understand this is not a complete solution, however, I hope this information helps.
