    My equipment = HP Photosmart 5520 / Samsung Series 9 ultrabook / Windows7.

I can't combine multiple scans in a single PDF doccument.

Before scanning documents, click on advanced settings, file tab and make sure "create a separate file for each scanned document" box is NOT checked.

When I finished the first analysis, the button '+', to add further documents, does not appear in either the Save or after clicking on fact box.

Why is this? How can I combine the scans in a single PDF file?

Did you mean probably 100 # and not #00 dpi. Tried and it works, thank you.

    So bottom line:

Combining multiple scans in a single PDF only possible at a resolution of 100 dpi.

If you set this level of resolution before scanning, the ' plus sign ' appears.

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I looked in your question about your printer HP Photosmart 5520 and who need to scan to a memory card. The best way to do that is located here in your manual on page 23. It gives you an instructions step by step.

  • How to remove the lid of the scanner on the Photosmart 5520?

Manual to insist that the lid of the scanner of the Photosmart 5520 (model #CX042A) can be removed.

When I try however, it does seem it Peel, as if a force is applied over it feels like it will break.

I contacted HP technical support per session chat, and after about half an hour the technician finally dropped and referred me to the store where I bought it.  I went to Office Max, where I bought and asked them.  They were also puzzled with a right to the camera in front of us, they could not figure out how to remove the cover.  They were also afraid to break if they tried to remove it.

Are there instructions indicating how to remove it so that the lid or the hinge is not destroyed in the process?

The manual is not wrong.  You can remove the cover on a 5110.  I was just trying to do the right way the first time.  This post told me how to do it.  As far as I know, the only things that have changed since the 5510-5520 are the firmware and internal control.  The shell of the printer must be roughly the same.

  • HP Photosmart 5520: Failure of digitisation with 10 Windows

After reading a lot of posts on this forum, about similar problems, I'm still any the wiser as to how to solve the problem of my scanner does not, as soon as I have upgraded to Windows 10. Seems to me it's about time Windows has taken a serious look to solve the problem and has fixed the bug themselves!  I have a HP Photosmart 5520 printer/scanner. The printer works. When I open fax and scan, the scan does not work and I get a message telling me my printer is not connected to my computer. I tried to solve this problem by following the instructions to change USB port, unplug the computer and restart, unplug the USB and reinsert.

My computer tells me that my printer/scanner is connected and working.

I can see the preview of the thumbnail on my printer when trying to scan to the computer through the printer, but I said the same thing that there is no connection to the computer. Ditto, when I scan to a photochip.

I just installed HP printer Install Wizard. It also confirmed that everything is working properly and that the driver is correct. The Test Print worked. The scan still does not work.

I also checked online, my printer for Windows 10 compatibility.  It is listed.

Like so many others, I'm going along in circles here!  I'm no computer expert but I usually find my way around the problems. A new printer that will actually solve?  I only had a few months to this model.

-Not too technical - need help!

Back Again! Today the printer also failed for an unknown reason!

I uninstalled the HP Photosmart 5520 and loaded the original CD supplied with the printer. It seemed that it would not work, but then I followed the instructions to activate the printer online. I did have to unplug the USB cable. Just turn off the printer and restarted. Bingo - printer and scanner now works perfectly with Windows 10. No need for new drivers. TOO easy!

  • Photosmart 5520 lies on the network for the first minutes

Hello.  I bought a Photosmart 5520 in November last year.  It was working fine until the scanner no longer works last week.  Still under warranty and after checking, it was a hardware failure, HP sent a replacement printer.

Now try to put in place as I had with the previous (who worked with no problem), it seems to play up.  When I start by putting, it connects to my wireless network.  And, throughout all the time, he thinks that it is connected, showing the correct in its window IP address when asked.

However, each computer attempts to connect to it can initially.  Then, after 3-4 minutes, we get the unavailable destination host.  I get this regardless of how networking is configured (static or dynamic IP addresses).

For example, when I start the printer first, I can ping the machine no worries

    C:\Users\Ed>ping 192.168.1.9

192.168.1.9 ping with 32 bytes of data :
    192.168.1.9 response: bytes = 32 time = 2ms TTL = 255
    192.168.1.9 response: bytes = 32 time = 2ms TTL = 255
    192.168.1.9 response: bytes = 32 time = 2ms TTL = 255
    192.168.1.9 response: bytes = 32 time = 2ms TTL = 255

    Ping statistics for 192.168.1.9:
    Packets: Sent = 4, received = 4, lost = 0 (0% loss),
Time approximate round trip in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 2ms, Maximum = 2ms, average = 2ms

And I can access the printer from my browser.  But, wait a few minutes, do nothing, and then ping fails

    C:\Users\Ed>ping 192.168.1.9

192.168.1.9 ping with 32 bytes of data :
Reply from 192.168.1.10: Destination unreachable host.
Reply from 192.168.1.10: Destination unreachable host.
Reply from 192.168.1.10: Destination unreachable host.
Reply from 192.168.1.10: Destination unreachable host.

    Ping statistics for 192.168.1.9:
    Packets: Sent = 4, received = 4, lost = 0 (0% loss),

Note that the ip address assigned to the machine (and what is displayed across on the screen of the printer) is 192.168.1.9.  Ping still displays a reply from 192.168.1.10 (which is actually the IP address of the computer, I connected to via the USB connection).

I did the normal stuff to turn off the router for 30 seconds, and it makes no difference.  What can I do to keep this work properly?

    Thanks for any help.

Hello Nicolas and welcome on the HP forums!

I see you have a Photosmart 5520 which has been recently replaced for a hardware problem and now the replacement seems to have problems with your wireless network. I'm sorry to hear that, but I'll certainly do my best to help

Because the first printer did not have the same issues, it would be reasonable to assume that this printer is just being meddlesome, (most of the time, anyway ) with which I ask, have you tried to restore default network settings and then reconnect the printer to the wireless network? Otherwise, to restore the default settings of network on the printer the wrench on the top touch right, touch wireless and then scroll down to network by default. Once that is done, try to reconnect the printer to the network and see if it does the same thing.

If this does not change the behavior of printers on the wireless network, please make sure that it is get the latest Firmware and updates.

If that isn't also solve the problem, we will have to try a reset of the printer. If the first two suggestions don't help, please read this privacy statement for HP and I will reply with a reset of your forums Inbox.

  • HP Photosmart 5520: Printer prints blank pages suddenly

Yesterday, my printer decided that he would simply print blank pages with a black line in the middle. I did a test print via the configuration menu and it prints fine. My wife can print wireless. And until yesterday I had no problem.

On and off, but today, I have the same problem. Help?

Looks like there is something wrong with the print on your Mac driver. To resolve this problem, we will need refresh your printing system and re - add the printer driver.

    Reset the printing system:

To begin, I will have you reset the printing system on your Mac. Please click herefor instructions on how to perform the reset. When the site opens, follow the steps under"Reset printing in OS X Lion system" because the steps are the same for Mac OS X 10.10. This Reset deletes each printer on your Mac. However, it does not uninstall printers. Therefore, if use you other printers on the Mac, once the reset is complete simply make sure printers are attached via a USB cable or connected network and (+) add hide them po do add not your HP Photosmart back in right now.

Once the reset is complete, proceed to the next step.

Check and repair your Mac disk permissions:

    1. Open Macintosh HD and go to Applications
    2. Go to the Utilities folder
    3. Open disk utility
    4. Select the hard disk volume, you use (usually on the left)
    5. Select verify disk permissions
    6. Once this process is complete, select repair disk permissions

    Add device:
    1. click on the menu of Apple , then Preferences System.

    2. click on print and scan and then check if the name of your printer appears in the printer list.

    3. click on the name of your printer, click the sign minus (), then remove the printer.

    4. click on the plus sign (), click Add a printer or a Scanner, click the name of your printer.

    5. click on the area of use or with the help of Print and then select the name of your printer on the shortcut menu. Ensure that the driver of the HP Photosmart camera is selected.

    6. click Add to add the printer to the list. Do not add the AirPrint driver.

Once your printer is properly added to, please try printing again to verify that the problem is now resolved.

  • Cannot get photosmart 5520 to connect wireless

I bought a photosmart 5520 4 days ago and could not get it connected to my wireless network. After fishing trawl of the forum, I contacted HP support. After a thorough analysis of the printer, the technician decided it was likely to be the network card and it should be replaced.

Now, I had my second printer and after implementation - it connected to the network and printed. I then decided to set up E-Print and the connected printer and downloaded some software and printed information to allow me to configure connected HP.

I did this and then the printer is off. The printer is restarted, it will connect any.

I tried to reset the default settings of the network, and then, it recognizes the network and by pressing the button on the router WEP key, it tries to connect - but fails every time.

I have reset the printer / router / computer but nothing resolved.

If it had not worked the first time, I suspect the network - but when it worked, it was fine.

    Help, please

There is no WEP button on a router.  It is the WPS button... and do not use it.   Follow the manual to connect to your SSID via Infrastructure mode using a router.  Use the wizard to be installed on the front panel.

  • AirPrint and WiFi printing stopped working on Photosmart 5520

I have a HP Photosmart 5520 that worked reliably until recent days. I can print is no longer my OS x, using print wifi or iPad, using Airprint.

    My configuration:

router - apple airport extreme ac

MacBook pro connected by ethernet to the router cable

iPad wifi connected to the same router

HP Photosmart 5520 connected wireless to the same router.

    1. the 5520 has an IP (10.0.1.13) and can address the internet

    2. the router reports the 5520 is connected.

    3. the Macbook can see the scanner of the printer (such as a scanner of Hello) but not the printer.

    4. safari on the macbook can connect to the web server integrated with 10.0.1.13

    5. the ipad can't see the printer via Airprint

I unplugged and reset the printer, put off the iPad and the MacBook, nothing helps.

How can I restore WiFi printing and Airprint?

Have you tried printing via a USB connection to the Mac? Because the printer will print the iPad with a direct wireless connection, there may be a hardware problem.

  • Photosmart 5520 and the mirror image printing

I have problems printing as well a mirror image. I have a "HP Photosmart 5520'. I read somewhere that this machine has the capabilities but I can't! Help, please!

    Hello

No, it doesn't have this facility. Please, try the following options:

    • Use a computer program available, like paint or photoshop. These programs allow you to turn and rotate your image to create the image backwards (mirror).
    • Go to the site to Create Mirror Images . This site is free and takes about 60 seconds to do, no download is necessary either.

  • Photosmart 5520 scan gives a black and white page

I scan a document translates a page black Virgin, if I scan in computers or copy. I downloaded and installed the latest update. If someone had the same problem and it is resolved successfully, I would be very grateful for their help. And if someone has an idea what could be causing this, I'd like to hear about them too. Thank you very much

    Hello there @pilotepure ,

I read your posts on your scans turn empty your Photosmart 5520, running a Windows operating system. I want to add some of my ideas for you!

Try a copy, if the copy is also empty, there is a problem of printer hardware.

    Try a reset of power:

Press the power button to turn the product on.
With the product, unplug the power cord from the back of the product.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the back of the product.
If the product does not light by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.

Make sure that the printer is plugged directly into the wall, avoiding bars power and surge protectors. This ensures that the printer is full on and can help greatly.

If copies are turning on fine, run the print and Scan on your PC Doctor and respond with results. Also include what Windows operating system you have.

    All the best
