SCCM 2007, WinPE30x86 - Optiplex 7040 - No. USB mouse keyboard in WinPE

Hello!
Im getting OSD works on Dell Optiplex 7040 with SCCM 2007 (Winpe30) of evil. No response from the mouse or keyboard in PE. I created a bootimage with the latest Dell WinPE drivers (tried A18 and A19). Driverpack WinPE from Dell contains 30 USB and 3.1 drivers but no luck-USB. Looks like the Optiplex 7040 have only ports of USB30.
This isn't a problem in our environment SCCM 2012 (WinPE10).

Solved... BIOS has been the root cause. Fra 1.2.1 to 1.2.8 BIOS update fixed the issues.

  • USB mouse & keyboard stop working after the upgrade of Intel generic drivers drivers!

Original Post: USB mouse & keyboard stop working after upgrade to generic drivers

After you install Windows, the Generic USB controller drivers are installed. My mouse & keyboard as planned work & that are each recognized as "compatible mouse/keyboard HID."

After I installed the Intel drivers for root USB controller, the mouse & keyboard stop working and are classified as unknown. Shortly after, they are considered HP USB Optical Mouse & HP USB Standard keyboard, however the drivers never properly install and they remain under unknown devices with a yellow exclamation point.

I have searched high & low for these device drivers, they do not exist. I installed the drivers for all of the materials appearing on the site of the seller. This has happened on several computers, laptops and desktop computers.

I've done all the troubleshooting I can think. Uninstalled all the controllers/USB hubs & restarted. Switched USB ports, I tried new mouse & keyboard, wanted Windows updates.

The only way I can make it work is if I use the generic Windows drivers, who then recognized the mouse & KB "HID compliant". It seems that if I install Intel drivers, it recognizes the mouse & keyboard more in detail and he wants specific drivers to continue.

Any help / suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks for the reply.

  • USB mouse & keyboard freeze - only solution Hard reset

My system hangs at 6 times a day - Grrrrr.   The USB mouse and keyboard become completely insensitive - hard reset only solution.

In case the Viewer, I see a red error icon ID10 WMI event with the text telling me...

Filter event with the query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA 'Win32_Processor' AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace '//./root/CIMV2' because of error 0 x 80041003.» Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is resolved.

I'm running a motheboard Foxconn ATX with chipset i5 intel, 12 GB RAM, card Matrox Quad M9148 graphics, 120 GB SSD and 650 GB Seagate drive spinning.  OS is W7 Home Premium 64-bit.  The problem seems to arise with several windows open and I wonder if it has nothing to do with IE.  I get this problem since a few weeks ago, I built the machine after my Acer motheboard destroyed car.  A couple of days, I replaced IE8 with IE9, hoping it would make a differnce but he did not.

Can someone help me with this issue please?

A upadate with what seems to have solved the problem - although a little late...

The problem seemed to relate to IE9 and in particular Web sites using flash (I think)
For example call graphs of the stock on www.igmarkets.co.uk or watching live video feeds on CNBC or Reuters would cause the machine to freeze.  Sometimes I would get a blue screen telling me it's 'security preparation options' that could only be cleared by a power reset.  Well, I seem to have solved the problem, or got around him at least... I installed Google Chrome and (fingers crossed) everything seems to work fine - I've not had a crash for more than two weeks now.  I will update if anything changes.
Safe mode startup mode minimum etc. etc. is a bit beyond me.  For example, after following some instructions on the internet on the topic where to find a log file that records what is happening as a machine going AWOL, I got in the folder and open the file, but it was not exactly written in plain language and what am I supposed to do with it?
Thank you very much for all the help - much appreciated
  • USB mouse & keyboard disabled randomly after the Windows 7 login Panel

    Hi all

Randomly, after the Windows 7 login Panel, windows disables my keyboard and USB mouse.

-No problem in BIOS or on the login Panel, but once the credentials entered and valid, and reaching office, mouse and keyboard (USB) close

-To solve the problem, I need to reboot several times, waiting for an instance where my devices are not closed (so it works without any pb until the next reboot)

-J' have a backlit keyboard and when the problem occurs, light are turned market, as if it was turned on and turned off randomy

Searching the Internet, seems, I'm not the only to encounter the problem, however single chip found Advisor on these was mentioning it is a bug in Microsoft Windows 7, associated with the management of the power supply of the USB ports. However the advice provided to change the config to disable these judgments do not work...

Thanks in advance for your help and best regards

Have you tried to go to safe mode with networking Mode and update your USB drivers?

You didn't say you had the problem goes mode without failure, so it might be a solution for you.

USB drivers should be found at the web page of the manufacturer of your computer or your motherboard manufacturer's web page.

  • No USB keyboard/mouse - SCCM - OptiPlex 7040

    Good afternoon

I'm trying to deploy Windows 7 for Optiplex 7040 using SCCM 2012, I downloaded ACR and imported the drivers, I have also injected the Ethernet drivers and it is very much the startup of WinPE.

At this point I wonder my SCCM Build password, but the USB keyboard/mouse work.

I tried adding and removing the USB of the cab drivers to the boot image, but nothing helped.

    Any advise?

I've added all physical of the cab drivers and removed all the USB drivers to make it work.

  • MS Server 2008 R2 on Optiplex 7040 (USB 3.0 ONLY) can make it work, even with all the dism and patch stuff...

Trying to install Win Server 2008 R2 on an Optiplex witch is so all USB 3.0 by using the legacy startup it will launch the installer and does NOT freeze to the main screen.  But when it comes to screen readers it says it needs a driver, but nothing does not recognize because he needs a driver to recognize the HD and needs a driver to recognize that anything that is connected to the USB 3.0 ports.

I spent 2 solid days watching and trying different things, including the patcher software dell (who uses powershell).  It works very well.  Broadcasts usb 3.0 drivers in the build of the server, but when I boot it ti freezes at the home page because he removed the pilots using the mouse and keyboard.

Is there anything else I can try to get this to work?  I use the wrong driver?  I tried the drivers that came with the driver update utility.  I tried the drivers from the website of intel.  Cause the main screen to be locked up with no mouse/keyboard.

I tried inserting manual usb 3.0 (same result).

Another way I can get it work?

I can use 2012 R2 server (who has 3.0 drivers and hard disk drivers and see the HARD disc immediately, but I prefer to use the Server 2008)

    Thank you

    I've found a workaround. (mine)...

If I install the 2012R2 server, it gives me a platform of USB 3.0.  from 2012, I installed 2008R2, and it worked.

I had to use 2012 once more in repair/back window because I forgot to shoot all the drivers in 2008.

I did once I was able to delete windows.old and now I have a fully functional 2008R2 on an Optiplex 7040.

Of course, has been easier than all this stuff of dism.

  • X 250 reports for SCCM 2007 boot disk WinPE "cannot find a valid network adapter."

I built a 250 X with Win7sp1 Enterprise, used Lenovo System Update to update all drivers, driver and creates a new package of drivers of SCCM 2007.

I added the driver v 12.12.80.1950 Intel I217-LM to the Boot Image, distributed to distruting SCCM points and created a new USB stick to boot using the SCCM Assistant.

When I boot on the USB drive I get the message "cannot find a network adapter valid."

I can use the ignition key on a 240 X without any problems.

I can see the pilot I217-LM in the boot image. When I connect locally on the laptop, I can connect to a share on another PC, so the driver and connecting to the LAN function. It is only during boot on the key of USB startup problem occurs.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Problem solved.

The boot image, I added the driver to was "not to inject a ConfigMgr driver", I created a new boot image added three drivers NET from the driver package provided by Lenovo SCCM for X 250 and the laptop can now connect to the SCCM server.

  • Tecra S11 with BIOS 3.50 - USB mouse is not recognized at startup

    Hello

I installed the latest version of the BIOS in my TECRA S11 - U10, and now my "HID" device does not-that is to say my dongled USB wireless mouse. I must now remove the dongle and re - insert before the TECRA sees the mouse.
Boring, just about usable, but it's a PITA and I'm aware of always 'making/breaking' the USB connection.

Must be something to do with the BIOS and see devices HID on "start"?
Finally, I enabled Legacy USB in the BIOS device support, but still no joy. In addition, have tested the mouse on other laptops - works well at the start, so NOT the mouse.

    Suggestions, people? Thank you...

    Hello

Disconnect your USB mouse and go to Device Manager.
Remove all USB hubs and USB controllers in Device Manager list.
    Reboot the laptop.
Wait until all the USB ports have recognised and installed again.
Then connect the USB mouse and check how it works.

You should also test different USB ports available on this laptop.

    Hello
would it be possible that the USB mouse has high power consumption?

As far as I know, there are a load of maximum intensity for each USB Port.

Do you know how much power (intensity) needs to this mouse?

    Good bye

  • Port Replicator III + very high CPU when you move the usb mouse only in W2k

Tecra M2 with a port replicator III +.

It is set to dual boot XP and Windows 2000 (yes I know it is well a bit but I have a bunch of stuff installed in win2k it is difficult to find these days).

XP is very good at 100%, but with win 2000 if I use my * USB mouse * on the * ports port replicator and waggle the mouse around - the * CPU * jumps from 0 to * 70 + % * use (System process that seems indicatates like IRQ problem). If I plug the mouse into the ports of the laptop (when the laptop is connected) - it's fine, no more than 5% cpu usage. It's a microsoft basic mouse. I really believe that this is a problem of usb any, because the cpu jumps a little if I type quickly on my usb keyboard (only a few %). It comes with the usb ports on all the Replicator.

Any ideas? I don't really want to plug my mouse in the morning because it beats a little interest to have a docking station in the first place! I have installed mobile extensions. All other aspects of the replicator are fine

    Martin

Huh it will not be easy to find the right explanation for this.
At the moment when Tecra M2 has been offered on the market as Replicator port compatible Toshiba offered Toshiba Advanced Port Replicator III (no +) and at that time both supported in operating system has been tested with it.

Toshiba later designed Toshiba Advanced Port Replicator III + and confirmed the compatibility with Tecra M2, but obviously with more recent WXP (at this time).
So now, you've been following situation: you use most recent Replicator port, but with much older operating system so I assume that there may be a compatibility issue with W2K.

I can't imagine use you so often with W2K and if so, may not be so problematic to connect the mouse directly on the cell s USB port.

Sorry, but I don't think that there is nothing you can do about it.

  • The plug-and-play USB mouse will not work on Satellite A100

    Hello

I have a laptop Satellite A100 laptop and when I try to install a plug and play mouse windows says it is not recognized - unknown device.

    Please help the mouse works.

    Thank you very much

    Hello Jayne

It will be really interesting to know where you're trying to connect the USB mouse. Can you send description of mouse models please?

As I know it is not necessary to install a driver for external USB mouse and mouse is usually recognized automatically. Please check if a driver installation is needed, and even request delivered must be preinstalled.

  • Satellite A100-033: disable touchpad when the USB mouse is conencted

I have a Toshiba Satellite running Vista Home Basic.
Recently, I had a catastrophic failure of the Windows and had to install it from scratch.

Before the failure, I had found a few (well hidden) setting that invalidates the touchpad automatically whenever an external USB mouse was connected.
To the left it works whenever the mouse is disconnected.

Can someone help me? (He had nothing to do with the Synaptics driver, which does not allow this.)

    Hello

I can activated and disable this feature in my dashboard-> mouse settings

In the mouse settings, I choose the device settings tab, and then I can check the option called disable pointing device internal when the eternal USB pointing device is attached.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite L300 - Vista - Touchpad and USB mouse does not.

    Hello

Well well after hours of trying allsorts, I post here...

Been given the laptop for repair as the touchpad no longer. No problem "I thought", simply plug a mouse usb to help me get around and re - install the touchpad... what a joke.

On the right, the USB mouse is recognized as a hid device and work, according to the Manager of devices, but not when you move it... nothing...
The Touchpad is listed as a Synaptics ps/2 touchpad and signals a Code 10 in section mouse device as well as listed as a hid and fully functional usb mouse Manager.

    Right... I have...
Listed all devices, even the hidden nonpresent (devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices) and removed everything only account of any mouse, keyboards, etc...
uninstalled the software synaptics via the program Panel.
Restarted the laptop, and it starts with the touchpad is ranked again code 10 with the version of windows drivers.
Drivers up to date using two different files of Toshiba for the touchpad, still Code 10
Still, the USB mouse does not either.

Someone enlighten me please on a fix for this...

    Hello

Really strange what s my friend because normally a touchpad driver update should solve the problem.

In any case, have you ever tried to use the Toshiba Recovery disk? Maybe it s just a software problem and a few important Windows files are destroyed or don t work properly. Reinstall Windows using the recovery disk Toshiba takes only a few minutes and there are already all the drivers and tools integrated. With these parameters (factory settings), the touchpad should work properly, and if not the touchpad or the motherboard needs to be replaced maybe.

    Good bye

  • Portege M100: USB mouse is crazy

    Hello

I want to kill them and disable the built-in mouse of my M100 because it is completely crazy.
It moves by itself and when I connect a USB mouse and I'm trying to control the cursor, it does not stop the movement.

In fact, there is a problem with the internal mouse that goes up without control, so I can't use the mouse.
Plugin a usb mouse does not. I tried to uninstall Manager but he always reinstall automtatically.

My Bios ACPI v 1.20 version and does not give the possibility to the integrated mouse unable.
A newer version will give this ability?
Is there a program that would disable the mouse integrated, so I cannot use the external mouse connected trough usb.

    Thank you very much

You can disable the mouse very easily. Use the FN + F9 key combination or disable it in the properties of the mouse.

I just hope that the laptop is preinstalled with image recovery or right mouse drivers.
