Secondary display color problem

I've seen several similar questions posted, but I can't seem to understand this one. This question has recently started to happen only in Lightroom 4 and continues to be a problem for me with Lightroom 5. It happens not in Photoshop CS5.

I have a Dell laptop and a Samsung monitor that I use as secondary display. Lightoom images appear correctly on the screen of the computer, but not on the external monitor Samsung. Both screens have been calibrated with ColorMunki Display. As you can see in the screenshots, other images, like the desktop wallpaper make fine on both monitors. Images in Photoshop CS5 and other image software visualization also make good on both monitors. This issue has not always been a problem, he began to appear about 6 weeks ago. Any thoughts on what could happen? See screencaptures below.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

What happens when you re - calibrate the displays? These symptoms are very typical for the bad monitor profiles. Photoshop ignores just while Lightroom will tip upwards. It is not inconceivable that a software update wiped your calibrated profile and windows can use a color profile canned, which are terrible usuably. Also make sure you have your calibration software to create icc v2 profiles. Lightroom v4 had problems with v4 profiles.

  • Changed resolution of the secondary display: cannot reset

I use a second monitor on my Imac 27 "OS 10.11.3 and have never had a problem with the resolution on the second monitor connected with a VGA cable. Suddenly this morning on this screen resolution is 800 x 600. I can scale, move in 1280 x 1024, have held down the Option key to detect the resolution of more options (the monitor displays the suggested resolution is 1980 x 1080, but I can't find how to add this resolution who worked until today. Puzzled and frustrated.

    Hi we04ndy,

I understand that you have a problem with the resolution of the screen. Let "see if we can get this sorted out.

I don't know, after the second article, if you use an Apple Mini DisplayPort to VGA, you will get a 1920 x 1200 max resolution or 1600 x 1200 depending on the discount rate. I would look on the troubleshooting in the first article to review what to do if you get undesirable results with the resolution of your secondary display. I would start with the SMC reset and NVRAM for you get started.

  • Satellite A210-127: display colors began to be weird

    Hi friends

Well I installed win xp pro sp2 on my laptop. I managed to find all the drivers for xp.
A week ago I noticed that while my laptop worked for about 2 hours or more, the display colors began to be weird.
A shade of blue covers parts of the screen and in some cases, I see a few icons or a part of the pictures (like desktop) to tremble.

As I have some experience of it I tried to close the cover (screen) and then to open it to know if the sceer has a problem, but no, the problem was still there.
I restarted the laptop and everything is ok. AFEW more hours of work and the problem again apeard. I tried a bios update and reinstalled the display drivers.

The problem was not resolved. So I disconnected all usb devices and battery and rebooted.
After a few hours, the same problem has happened so I looked in the case where the viewer and that there was no error. I am convinced that I have to blame the display drivers, but I'd like to hear opinions.
My graphics card is ati mobility radeon 2600

    Thank you

    Hello

I don t think it is a software problem and therefore in my opinion the update of the graphics driver is simply not necessary.
For me, it looks like a hardware problem. Probably the fault of operation of the FL-ups!

I recommend to connect the external monitor to the laptop while the shade of blue is displayed on the internal screen for laptop!
If you see the same thing on the external monitor that maybe the GPU causing this strange issue.
But if the problem isn't on the outside monitor then either display laptops or the FL inverter causes this problem.

In both cases it s advisable to contact the service provider allowed in your country, because the part which malfunctions must be replaced.
I think that the guarantee is valid and this is why everything should be done for free!

    Good luck

  • Secondary display flashing/flickering/flashing randomly in Windows 7 Home Premium

I'm really at a loss on this one.

I bought recently (like yesterday) a Galaxy GeForce 210 graphics card, purely so I can run my 17 "Dell LCD next to my Samsung 24". I am running Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit.

Everything seemed to work fine - I have installed the card, installed the drivers that came with it (who says are compatible Windows 7) and there we went. The 17 "plugged in VGA and the Samsung in DVI.

However, after being run for a bit, I started to notice that from time to time (read about once or twice a minute), the Dell would flicker or flash a bit. The best way I can think to describe it is to imagine having the bar about a third of the screen to the Windows taskbar height and then suddenly it shrunk and your graphics card couldn't keep up - so that you get a momentary flash of Black Watch Office. This is what is happening to me.

It doesn't matter what application is running - or even if no application is running - and I can't reproduce it on demand, although it seems that every time I use the 3D features (e.g. change of task in the card sorting method).  However, I tried the following things:

    1) updated drivers from nVidia.com - now run 8.17.11.9745 - no change

    (2) restarted my machine without the time to make sure that's not the problem - no change

    (3) started my machine in Vista Ultimate 64-bit, charge the same drivers from nVidia - flicker does not seem to happen!

    (4) off the second screen under Windows 7 - the only remaining screen glisten.

    (5) reactivated the second screen - now the Samsung screen is the one doing the flickering. According to how many times I do it, the flickering remains on at least one of the screens.

    (6) have tried what seems like the entire internets! - still can't find a solution!.

Someone out there you have ideas on how to solve this problem?

    Hi thecrane.

How did set you your additional monitor? Mirrored, extended, only external display

I suggest you try the following steps:

Step 1: change display settings also change color depth then test

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/getting-the-best-display-on-your-monitor

Step 2: Flickering of the Correct monitor (refresh rate)

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/correct-monitor-flicker-refresh-rate

Try using the display quality problems to solve the problem. It ensures that your video card driver is compatible with Windows 7, and checks to see if your color grading, video effects and the display settings are correct.

  • Cannot disable the secondary display in library mode window

I don't have two monitors. My video card shows only one view. While in library mode, I want to see the selected image in the film strip in the main window of the library. This used to work, but now I see only the selected image in the window «Lightroom - secondary display» I can't use LR in this way. How can I close the secondary monitor window entirely (not only close with F11)?

Just Shoot Me, I tried the small icons 1 and 2 in the lower left corner, but no matter which I clicked on, the preview of the image came in the secondary window, not in the main preview area of LR.

    F. McLion, I'm sorry that you did not understand my description. The problem has been fixed by Adobe, so I guess it's okay now.

  • Secondary display LR5 not displaying only when not put in full screen

This weekend when I started towards the high LR5.4, the secondary display feature did not work (the 2nd monitor works and view other applications). I tried to turn on and off it several times. Then I tried to restart my computer. It is the first time that I had this problem and I've been using LR with secondary display from the beginning. I could so he could appear if I switched off full-screen, but I have to move and resize each time. What's most annoying is that if I switch to another application and then switch back, I have to manually enlarge the window again.

I wasn't able to find a solution or a mention of this issue. This happened to someone else?

    EUREKA!

Purely by chance, I understood why the secondary display (function) did not work correctly. For awhile now, my cursor would continue on the right side of my 2nd monitor. I just went to Setup 'Screen Resolution' to find a third, 640 x 480, generics, PnP Microsoft, display. Disable it solved the problem. I don't know how he got set up and currently I don't know how to remove it, but I'm very happy to have finally understood that.

Try to remove (or move temporarily) your after effects preferences file.

In Windows, it'll be somewhere like this:

    C:\Documents and Settings\Votre user utilisateur\Application Data\Adobe\After Effects\9.0\ name Adobe After Effects 9.0 Prefs

On OS X, it'll be somewhere like this:

    MacintoshHD/Users/UserName/Library/Preferences/Adobe/AfterEffects/9.0/Adobe after effects 9.0 Prefs

  • Maj CS5 photoshop color problem

When I open or copy any image in photoshop, for some reason, it changes colors.  For example if I have a picture that has the text in blue, when I open it in photoshop text becomes Purple.  Everyone knows about this problem before?

Programs like Photoshop and Illustrator are management while painting and Photo viewer on XP are not colors. Have in mind that the color managed programs use your monitor color space to simulate other destination color spaces and this can cause inconsistency between color and programs without colors. With color managed programs that you must be aware of the color space, that you use to display images. UN-color managed programs can display color only the way in which your monitor's display. So first of all you must decide how you want to display images. The way in which your monitor can display the or the way in which they can appear in other color spaces?

Tried all the normal things - control work? Yes etc.

    Hello Nick

According to your description, you can't write that the second display doesn t work. Of course, you have activated the option called extend my Windows desktop on this monitor. In this case, you can remove all windows laptop for external monitor screen.

If you work with more different windows on this way, your work will be more comfortable. I assume that you do want this and it will be interesting to know how you want to use the secondary display:
    -secondary display only
-but both with the same point of view?

Remove the scope option and use the FN + F5 key combination and choose display to use.

    Good bye

  • Secondary display does not connect

    Hello world

I have trouble getting a secondary display to work. The installer worked well on an older Mac Pro until we passed out.

Now, we use a Mac Pro mid-2012, that uses a DVI output for main monitor. The secondary display is sent from a thunderbolt port to a mini-affichage of a transmitter HDMI to HDMI, then drills down to a level via ethernet to a receiver, which converts it to HDMI for a TV.

Whenever I connect the mini display of converter for love at first sight, the computer behaves as if she's trying to connect flashing market, switching back and forth between 1 and 2 screens. It just keeps going black, showing black desktop, two desktop computers, never until that I disconnect the converter mini display.

Anyone have any ideas why? The Setup program has worked well on the previous computer, a 2006 Mac Pro, using DVI to HDMI instead of the mini HDMI display. I also tried to use the DVI on the new port and the same result.

    Thank you!

The Mac requires the display to meet an initial query with its name and capabilities.

    No answer = no image.

HDMI is for TVs, then your box of stunt may not have implemented the secondary channel required to connect to the computer and ability to react on it.

  • Color problems: the red color has disappeared from my computer

    Original title: color problems

The red color has disappeared from my computer. The moniter is ok.

    Hello

You did it changes on your machine before the problem?

It could be a hardware failure.

Things that can be loaded are listed below:

    broken monitor cable has...
    b. defective monitor.
    c. faulty graphics card.

    You can consider measurements:

    Step 1:

Double check that monitor cable is firmly attached. Try the Wiggles, see if the color returns.
    Step 2:

Test another monitor on the PC (Personal Computer), and/or the monitor on another PC.
    Step 3:

You may have a bad cable, or the monitor may be defective.

    Step 4:

Right-click on the desktop and select Properties. Go to the tab settings, and report on what choice was filed under 'Color quality' and what is the other choice in the drop-down list?

If there is no choice of color quality better than what you have, you may not use the correct driver for your video card or monitor.

Uninstall and reinstall the drivers for video card and see if the red color appears.

Follow the steps in the link to uninstall and reinstall the video card drivers.

  • messed up display color

Display colors are medium - black are blue, red are "purple", etc.

    Hi Rustydog13,

The first thing I would check is that the monitor cable wiggled loose. Even if it seems trendy I could look a little longer. If that doesn't fix it, you may need to reload the display driver.

If you want to know the answer just to the display driver.
