  This is probably a "lock" file It is created if Lightroom is not closed correctly.

  In the folder where the catalogue is there is probably a .lock file. Delete this file only , and then try again.

  It is created to prevent Lightroom used simultaneously by more than 1 user, and if Lightroom is not shutdown properly for some reason some may remain in the folder.

  I am suddenly unable to open Lightroom 6.  I get this error message.

  I uninstalled it, run cleaner Adobe Creative cloud. Run C Cleaner on the files and the registry. LR6 downloaded and reinstalled and still get the same message.
  I tried the trial of CC and that worked fine.

  With Lr closed go to the location where your catalog (by default it is pictures/Lightroom)

  Delete the. Lock file with the same name as your catalog. For example, in the image below, it is Lightroom4 catalog.lrat.lock

  

  In your case, it will be Lightroom5catalog.lrcat.lock

  Restart Lightroom

  I suggest you to remove the old version, Lightroom 4.4 of the computer and keep Lightroom 4.4.1 on your computer.

  I've been using Lightroom for several years and finally I bought a perpetual license of standalone lightroom 5 with update free for LR6 on PC and mobile.

  Last night I was working in lightroom on PC when I realized that I had imported my new photos to the catalog 2015 instead of a new catalog of 2016 which I had used for a week. I chose open another catalogue (2016) in order to import new pictures in the catalog, bypassed the message about stopping the catalog I was using and the message back up before you finish then anything, lightroom does not open.

  I bought the 6 upgrade for my lightroom 5 (no clouds) on the web on August 27 for mac (I have the latest operating system). I get an email with my code number and instruction how to download lightroom 6.

  3 days later, I still not able to download lightroom 6.

  I open the installer... I see on the first line: lightroom for mac/win my code number and the download window is empty

  second line: lightroom no Code window and the window for the window is enabled

  third line: ligt...           Mac... no code and the window for Mac is enabled

  I click on the Mac window, a new window appears where I chose the version of lightroom to select this option to download. I see the 1,2,3,4,5 version but not version 6.

  Where is the problem?

  I try to reach someone talking about Adobe, but it is almost impossible to reach the person or I don't know how to do it. And on the forum, I can't find anything good for my problem.

  IN the folder with your catalog, there is a file with the same name as the catalog but with the extension ".lock".

  When LR does not properly close, this file is left behind.

  Delete the file *.lock. Delete nothing else.

  I downloaded last week. It does not open. Control Panel says it isn't here. Said networkit is on is not available, BUT I can see the .exe in my records, as well as modules. I am running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. I click the icon and a timer appears and disappears and nothing happens. Tried to open it from the folder using .exe, but nothing happens. No error messages except if I go to the control panel and try to fix it and he said: this is not.   If you use vcenter to manage your servers from another computer. You should try to disable the windows firewall on the vcenter computer that manages the esx server. He worked for another problem in the past. Windows firewall started blocking applications of mks someday and we don't know why. Allowing exceptions in windows firewall did not work if the firewall has been turned off completely and then it worked.

  I'm unable to connect to creative cloud due to an "unknown Server error".

  Anyone else get this?

  I tried to reset my password without success however.

  I can't connect on the site of creative cloud, but I can't use creative application of cloud on my desk.

  I tried to connect a couple of times and I tried to restart my machine as well.

  I disabled antivirus just in case, but I can't make it work.

  I already installed the software CC on my machine to work without mistakes like that.

  Looks like that you actually typed the comand like "/ Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE". When the correct command is "~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE. Please make sure that when you are to go to the windows folder start address with ~.
