  Windows Server 2008 network.  Printers have ip addresses. Install the drivers from the Print Manager.  /Terminal Server Workgroup installation.

  It's the same situation with XP.  The print driver names must match.  If you notice the name of the printer driver that uses XP is a name different from the one that is installed when you plug in the device on the Windows 7 computer.  This is just my assumption, please correct me if this isn't the case.

  The real solution is to install a 32-bit driver on the XP machine that uses the same name that the 64-bit driver and share a printer using this driver or find a 64-bit driver that uses the same name as the 32-bit driver installed on XP and install the driver on XP.

  Go to where you have configured the static IP addresses for your network adapters.  Leave the "default gateway" blank for your local file sharing adapter and insert a valid default gateway for your wifi Internet adapter.  Of course, this will limit your adapter in a single subnet - which should be OK for use at home or small office to share local files.

  This should work as long as the two physical subnets have two different subnet numbers. In general, this means that the first three digits of the IP address of the adapter can not be the same on both adapters - if they are, then you need to make one of the subnets. (i.e. one is 192.168.1.xxx and the other would be 192.168.2.xxx).  This is usually accomplished in the router configuration page.

• Network management problem, computer laptop Windows 7 will not find other computers on any network, however all other computers on the network can access Windows 7 laptop.

  Basically, the issue I'm having is that my laptop does not connect to any other computer to access the actions or other files.  Other computers on the network can access my computer laptop shares and files without any problems.  Operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium x 64.

  What I tried:

  restarted
  uninstalling and reinstalling the files and printers, sharing maps and restart after completion
  all disabled firewall
  tried with IPv6 enabled and disabled without change, so it is currently enabled
  tried on a Wi - Fi and the differences are listed below in the section work (work is wireless)
  able to ping other comptuers
  access to other computers is permitted by other computers

  problem extends over several networks, IE I noticed it at home last night and the followed problem my laptop at work this morning.
  The problem is slightly different on the two sites.

  At home:
  I can see the other computers on the network, but I am unable to access it, even if I have permission, but other computers can access to my laptop.

  At work:
  Cannot even find other computers on the network but they can find and access my laptop.

  I have worked on this problem of non stop for several hours and did much more than what is said, but I am unable to remember everything.  I should have been taking notes: P

  If it has started, you can try a system restore - an update "might" have caused the problem.

  1. try a system restore back to a point before that happened. And immediately thereafter enter
  Control Panel - Windows updates - top left settings and set it to download and informs you instead
  Automatic. Leave it until you are sure that everything is OK and then you can add them one at a time
  to troubleshoot BUT click right on and HIDE all the driver updates. Also stop at day of drivers like below
  and let this value - manually search for drivers when you think you need. (See how and why to)

  I had completely forgotten the system restore!  While looking into the system restore, I found that when I moved into my new House and has cable Internet installed, the cable technology installed a program of comcast on my computer.  This caused me to not be able to connect with other computers.  After rolling back to install it before it works!   Thank you.

  I find it incredibly difficult to get a simple answer to this question about the limitation of 20 connections of devices on a windows 7/8.

  Here's the scenario...

  Main computer will run Windows 7 Pro

  This computer will be several network printers and Apache Web server actions

  Ten other computers in the office, each running Windows 7 Pro

  They all will connect to the main computer with the following:

  X drive is mapped to a network share on MainComputer

  -The drive is mapped to a network share on MainComputer

  -My library of Documents will point to \\MainComputer\SharedDocuments

  -It will be printed on a printer shared on MainComputer

  -They use a web browser pointing to http://maincomputer

  NOT this NUMBER as a connection to the MainComputer of each of the ten for a total of ten connections?

  Or is it a different number of connections?

  Help, please. We do not want to use a platform server unless absolutely necessary.

• New installation cannot network detection

  I had to reinstall my Windows 7 Home Edition 64 on my laptop with 9 Parallels Bootcamp partition following an upgrade of the OS. This laptop is connected to my home network via an Ethernet bridge with two different Mac and a Windows 7 PC.

  Installation as described worked perfectly on my home network, in particular with the office also runs Windows 7 Home Edition 64 before the reinstall.

  On my laptop (correctly working over the Internet through the same Ethernet Bridge), when I go to the Control Panel HomeGroup and click on it, it tells me that there's no homegroup (and me to create an offer only no option to join a).

  On my desktop PC, when I go to the same homegroup, there is a (which has been existing for two years) and I have the password for it, but I can't use it on the laptop because it does not detect.   Finally, I found a solution to make my software work on the network WITHOUT being able to restore the residential group (see above). I could write the paths to the files, I needed the PC, and surprisingly the PC will appear in the selection of network drive tree! But before you write paths, no way I could select them as you normally would by selecting them.

  So I'm happy, my software works, but my network on the Windows partition not although everything seems to be normal (it's what network stores tell me too)...

  Brother DCP145C has not detected by Windows 7 64 bit. What port is recommended for the local printer - LPT1? Windows 7 should detect when the USB connection, but there is no activity. Similarly, the mode to scan on the printer is not responding to "check connection". Thank you.

  If several USB devices are plug-and-play, printers need a print driver to work even on a USB port. I went to the Brother website and a research on the model of printer "DCP145C" increase any responses - are you sure the model number of the printer (not the part number)?

  You have a printer disk supplied with your printer? If you do, try to use that to install the print driver. As far as LPT1 goes, is for a printer with a parallel port (printer), and the COM ports are for those who use the ports series.

  Thus starts with the right model number and look for brother.com right print driver (or use the disc that came with the printer). Try and see if that solves the problem for you.

  Hover your mouse over the lower left corner of the office. Click right when the start appears, and then select command prompt (Admin)

  Copy and paste this... to avoid typos... and press ENTER.

  Close the command prompt and reboot.

  This may or may not solve your problem... There are several causes that push lately... but it's a good starting point.

  We have a HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 A909b, connected via local network with static IP address.

  Using the installation CD, the printer and the scanner works fine under Windows XP.

  Using the same CD of instalation, do the same steps, it does not get detected in Windows 7 64 bit.

  At the end of the installation, there is a wizzard to find and select the printer. The printer is found,

  but then a red circle appears saying that there was a problem. An icon is created on the desktop in order

  to perform the same procedure, it is not detected.

  Is there a problem with Windows 7 64 bit?

  Solved!

  1. Right button on another printer ports, remove the IP address of the printer
  2. Uninstall all the HP drivers
  3. connection as the local administrator, not a domain administrator
  4. Install al normal, everything works well
  5. Then login as a domain user and use the scanner
