SG300-10 Ethernet connected, but no IP connectivity

Hello

I have a strange problem with a SG300-10 (our first SG300) works as a desktop switch.

When a PC that is connected to the switch is turned off and is more later (a few minutes or next day) turned on, the PC has an Ethernet switch, but no IP connectivity.

PC-statistics show that ethernet is connected and it sends out packets, but the PC receives not all packages.

At the same time statistics SG300 for port said, that ethernet is connected (same parameters as the PC) one that the switch sends packets (broadcast and unicast) IP to port, but not all packages received. The switch displays the following entries in the log ram for the port:

09:11:35 Warning STP-W-PORTSTATUS %: IG3: STP State Forwarding aggregated (1)
09:11:31 Information % W-LINK-Up: IG3, aggregated (1)
09:11:28 Warning % W - LINK at the bottom: IG3
09:11:24 Warning STP-W-PORTSTATUS %: IG3: STP Forwarding State
09:11:19 Information % W-LINK-Up: IG3

With the older firmware 1.2.9.44 IP connectivity worked after 5-10 minutes of waiting.

With the new 1.3.0.59 firmware I can wait another 15 minutes, there is no change and nothing happens.

But when I change some settings 'unimportant' port (i.e. to change the speed of the port of autonegation to fixed 1000M, or vice versa), then save the configuration to the startup-config running, about 5-10 seconds after the configuration is saved, the port Gets a full IP connectivity, and after it works fine (until the PC is powered on and ON again).

It is a very strange behavior. As 'PC', I tested cela with-workstations HP, Lenovo Thinkpad and a MAC Mini. Switch 'reacts' to everything the same.

After I joined the config of the switch.

It would be much appreciated if someone could give me some advice on how to solve or to debug this issue further.

Thank you very much

Andreas

Hi Andreas, this is not usual. I guess if you make the switch it will work very well.

I have 4 of them running right now on my desk and none that they behave like that.

It should be 2-5 minutes for the connectivity entirely after a reboot. And no more than 52 seconds (based on spanning tree protocols) for the new connection without starting.

Hello @Hmonk the printer has two ways to be connected but we really recommend use one at a time if you are going to perform a network first installation you want to make sure that you have an IP address from the printer connect the network cable to the printer room will get internet brand of course, on the port on the back of the printer when you have connected cable has a green and the orange light and then go to the menu reports on the printer and print a configuration report right on the 1st page under product settings, you will find IPV4 you must subsequently make the installation at this time where everything you want to make sure, is that the IP address of its different then 0.0.0.0 or 169.254.XXX.XXX since these combinations indicates that the printer its does not properly connect to the network

  • No Ethernet connection after connection GS105 switch

    Hi all

I have a few questions on our new bought GS105 switch. It is said that this model is a switch so that I can plug in the cables and make them communicate. However, when I connect to my laptop to pass, it shows an Ethernet connection, but when I click on this link, I can not connect. Why does this happen? What is my problem laptop OS or hardware problem or the problem of the switch? Thank you for helping me

    My goal:

I want to connect my laptop to two USRP to communicate. However, the USRP can only support GB Ethernet and my laptop don't have 10/100 Ethernet. So that they communicate, we bought this GS105 switch and connected the USRP and portable to move (this method according to https://forums.ni.com/t5/USRP-Software-Radio/usrp-2920-can-t-connect-to-PC-WindosXP/td-p/1920379 ). If it connects successfully with each other, I can run the "uhd_find_devices" command in the Terminal and see information on the devices. However, I can't find any UHD device which means that there is a connection problem.

    The methods I've tried:

    • Connected the Ethernet cables and cables for power for several times - did not work
    • Check the lights on the switch - good times (lamps for cable USRP) and the left light on my laptop
    • Clicking on the "Wired connection" icon in my laptop, all the lights flash; However, after a while my phone showed "disconnected."
    • Tried another ASUS RT - N16 - worked

    System information:

    • OS: Ubuntu 16.04
    • : Computer laptop Ethernet Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8101/2/6th PCI Express Fast/Gigabit Ethernet controller (rev 07)
    • USRP Ethernet ports: Gb Ethernet

Problem solved because the USRP IP address is: 192.168.10.X. I can't install wired for DHCP automatic. Should I manually set the IP address and also try to avoid the collision of IP address.

  • WiFi for computer laptop HP ENVY 15 and Ethernet connection problem

Hi, a few months ago, I brought a HP ENVY 15 Notebook PC running windows 8.1. It is connected to my wifi with Ralink RT3290 802.11bgn Wi - Fi adapter. My modem is a Technicolour TG582n 2 Wireless ADSL + with wireless 802.11 b/g/n compatible.

As soon as I got there I noticed a problem of internet where I would be able to connect to my home WiFi network and get full reception bars but would have a hard time to access Web sites on web browsers such as chrome, mozilla and internet explore pages takes some time to load and eventually reached a page "this webpage is not available" (for chrome). This problem seems to occur only with my home network as it can connect to public wifi and my wifi friends and yet I have many other devices such as laptops and other smartphones connected to my wifi that did not at all have poblems with internet and it just seems to be mine. When I connect via ethernet I get good connection for about 10 minutes and then I was completely cut off. However, I can upload a file via the wifi ok if I can get it to start and I can play a game online well enough but often disconnected after an hour or two.

I checked for new updates of pilot, but they seem to be up to date and im do not manually downloading and installing one on the hp site but I tried (I did probably wrong). I ran the diagnostic function, but it cannot detect all problems. I looked around the internet as well, but still havn't found a solution.

Also I got the laptop sent back and received a new but the same problem persisted and as I walked through the process of the person I was talking to a admitted that I had a problem like they remote limited from my laptop for a little for the access problem.

Please help, I've had this problem for a month or two now and is really becoming a problem since I use my laptop computer for purposes of requiring home internet work.

Thanks in advance and I hope you guys can help!

    Hey @George5500,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand your JO 6830 unresponsive when it is in standby when you are using the Ethernet connection, but it does not occur when connected via USB.

We will perform a hard reset. To do this, leave the printer and unplug the power cable for 1 minute. While it is unplugged, press and hold the power button on the printer for 10-15 seconds to release built his power, then after the minute, plug the printer in. Also, even if you have used a surge protector/power bar this whole time and you feel this isn't the cause, please plug it in to a wall outlet so that we can eliminate the source of energy as the primary cause.   Questions when it is connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power

  • Ethernet connection problems

I just bought a Tablet from Lenovo TAB 2 10 - 30 and found that I can not get connected to the Internet because of problems with the power of the signal from my router. I have been using a PC for the year that I connect to the same router via an Ethernet cable, and it works very well, so I thought that I would just connect my Tablet Lenove in the same way. I have now bought a new cable (very long) Ethernet and mini-USB adapter, so it will connect on the Lenove tablet, I can get the * beep * thing to work. When I go into the settings, everything I see under "wireless network & ' is WLAN, but doen't seem to be an option to set up or recognize the Ethernet cable I connected on the tablet. Does anyone know how to get this tablet to connect to Internet with my Ethernet cable?

Another point: I'm sure the first time I ever took the Tablet out of his box and he started, I saw an option for WLAN network or LTE. I guess (maybe), I need LTE option to establish an Ethernet connection (although I could esily be wrong about that), only this option LTE has completely disappeared off the coast of the machine. Or if it's there, I don't know how to access.

    Thanks Dave

Yes, after some other investigation looks this tablet can not connect via Ethernet cable after all.

Fortunately I managed to pick up a singnal Wi - Fi, so I think I'll be able to connect to the web in this way after all.

    Thanks for your help.

  • LeCroy LT344L, MAX, IVI and the Ethernet connection

    Howdy!

I installed lcltxxxx IVI driver of the NOR for the scope of LeCroy LT344L.

    IVI Compliance Package: 4.5

    MAX 5.4.0f0

I want to use an ethernet connection, but the area of selection "Descriptor resources" does not offer a resource ethernet (see photo).

With the help of the software ScopeExplorer of LeCroy confirms a working communication between the PC and the scope.

I do not use the two program (MAX + ScopeExplorer) at the same time.

    Thanks for the help!

    Oh...

In addition, the 'LeCroy ACIP passport' is necessary for communication via TCP/IP: http://teledynelecroy.com/support/softwaredownload/vicppassport.aspx

As "Resource Descriptor' the text 'VICP::172.30.2.26' (IP of my scope) works for me.

  • cDAQ-9188 Ethernet connection problem

We bought 2 cDAQ-9188 and I can't get them to connect to the computer via the Ethernet connection. I can make them work if I use a short cable (10 ft), but the location that I need them is about 180 feet away. When I do right click on network devices and select Find devices that it returns Nothing found. Is there any suggestions on what I might be wrong or what I should do to make them work? I'm running LabView 2010 SP1 and the drivers provided with the units of the cDAQ-9188.

Of course, the PC Ethernet card we use is low. I have them connected to a router and placed near the PC router, and now, they work very well.

  • How is it that a computer which works very well with a direct Ethernet connection won't work with a switch, however any other computer using the same port, cable, ect, and so on, can?

    Switch issues. Help, please.

How is it that a computer which works very well with a direct Ethernet connection won't work with a switch, however any other computer using the same port, cable, ect, and so on, can? We already checked the firewall as a question, that it was not, and now, we are puzzled.

Well, I know that the issue is long-term... believe me, it's a long, but as they say, the devil is in the details. Anywho, the question is, my grandfather has a HP laptop, which for two years has been able to run through a Linksys switch to his router and connect its printers to his laptop. About two months ago it suddenly doesn't work like that. Now, it works fine if it plugs directly into the router/Ethernet. My uncle suggested that the switch was bad, but after testing the same port, cable and all, the switch worked well for him. ' GRAMPS really needs this answered, but someone else, it is called can not understand and now I, in turn, ask you all for what you can offer. Here are the ideas that we have already discredited.

-Switch bad: as above, is that this particular laptop, even under identical conditions, the works of my uncle very well.
-Bad NIC: debunked through the fact we connected to the computer directly to the router and it worked fine.
-Bad configuration of the firewall: we have disabled the firewall (please do not notice, he wasn't the smartest idea, we already know) and even if she recorded the switch exists, the internet is always triggered when you are connected with the switch.

Thanks in advance for any assistance that you can provide and Merry Christmas to you all.

It would be useful to consult the results of the ipconfig/all command both when it is connected to the switch and when it is connected directly to the router.  In addition, what is the model of the switch?

To save the manual copy and the new hits of the ipconfig/all command output-

    First connect through switch.
Open a command prompt window (start > run > cmd > OK)
Type the following lines in the black command prompt window and press ENTER after each line

echo "Connected via the button" > "% UserProfile%\Desktop\ipinfo.txt".
    ipconfig/all > "% UserProfile%\Desktop\ipinfo.txt".

Now connect directly to the router, type the following lines in the command prompt window and press ENTER after each line

echo "Connected to the router" > "% UserProfile%\Desktop\ipinfo.txt".
    ipconfig/all > "% UserProfile%\Desktop\ipinfo.txt".
    Notepad '% UserProfile%\Desktop\ipinfo.txt '.
    output

Copy the contents of the Notepad window in your response (if you use the laptop when it is connected directly to the router) or close the Notepad window, and then copy ipinfo.txt of the laptop to the Gramps in a USB FlashDrive you can connect to any computer allows you to answer.

You can delete ipinfo.txt on the desktop when you are finished.

  • A device w / ethernet connection is REALLY necessary to change the wifi password?

I'm not all that intuitive technology. About 6 years ago my son helped us set up our wireless and router. We opted to NOT have a password that we were the only House in the area at the time and never understood the risks of unlocked despited being taught by our son. Times have changed, a development went in where used to be closed and now we decided to use a password. I looked at how so witelessly and have accessed the screens and now what needs to be done, BUT I am leary to do this, as all the tutorials I have watch seem to suggest an ethernet connection is required. The problem is that we have no device to an ethernet port. We use our wifi to our mobile devices, tablets, smart TV and Roku. My son now lives in another State. The ethernet is really necessary to simply add a password? Or y at - it another way to handle this. Thank you!

Hello! An ethernet cable is only needed to establish a connection with the router. Since you have been connected to the wireless router, there is no need to connect a cable connection more. To secure your network, follow the instructions in this link: http://kb.linksys.com/Linksys/ukp.aspx?pid=80&vw=1&articleid=22751 .  Have a good!

Is equivalent to a DSL ethernet connection or better ethernet internet connection called DSL connection?

    Hi Ken once again,

I'm sorry, I'm always clear that this question can reanswer again? Is not wired and not the RJ-45 connection.

What type of internet connection they call when you connect to the internet using a * connection cable *?

I'll try again and hope that you understand this time.
You connect to the internet via a modem, * not * a cable of any kind.
The modem connects to the internet in several ways; both
the most common ways are by using an RJ-11 cable (it is a standard phone
cable and is used for dial-up or DSL) or a cable TELEVISION cable
(it's just like the one you use to connect your TV if
"you have cable). This internet connection as the modem
connects to is usually a wall outlet.

You must connect to your modem. If you are the only computer on
your site to connect to the internet, you can connect directly to the
    modem.
If you have two or more computers that connect to the internet, they
normally connect to a router and the modem is connected on the
router (but with some routers, the modem is built in it, so a
separate modem should not be connected). Normally, you connect to
the modem/router using an ethernet (RJ-45) cable.

Here is therefore a raw image of a default installation (the dotted lines are
    cables):

    Computer 1-------.
    \
    \---
Router - Modem - Internet (DSL, dial-up, cable TV)
    Computer 2-
Note that the lines (cables) on both computers to the router are
RJ-45, but they are generally * not * the internet connection and they
are not, which makes the internet more quickly or more slowly. The internet
connection is the last dotted on the right line. From
the Modem to DSL, dial-up, or TELEVISION outlet cable (usually a wall)
socket) is the internet connection, and is the type of cable, it is
any form of internet service you have (and what outlet
"you have to the internet connection).

  • VISTA: cannot use my Ethernet connection

I use Thinkpad X 200 under Vista 32 bit, my ethernet card is Intel 82567LM.

I connect OK for wireless network, have never tried to connect to an ethernet connection before with this laptop. But when I did, it doesn't.

    What tests I've done:

    (1) manage the connection: connection to the LAN - State is 'ENABLED' (sorry I translate this from a Chinese OS, don't know if it's the right terminology, CONNECTED or DISCONNECTED)
-Right-click and enter in the properties-> IPv4 is checked, and in properties, all is get automatically
-Diagnose this connection-> he says "does not correctly configured to use the IP Protocol, please make sure that IP is correct" (translated)

    (2) I go into Device Manager and find the ethernet card and update the driver to the latest version. Uninstall the driver and let Windows reinstall it at startup-> still no luck.

    (3) IPCONFIG-> shows only TWO (should not be a?) Wireless WiFi and a Tunnel to the map (?) and ETHERNET adapter WITHOUT connecting to the LAN (VERY STRANGE).

    (4) when the ethernet cable is plugged in, the lights are on, so the port and the line must be good.

Could someone please help? Thank you! I'm really at the end of my intelligence...

    Hi Cody,

Thanks for your suggestion. Appreciated! It is portable to my friend, and after tried so methods and still not, she gave to solve to get a router to convert the wired connection to a wireless. Now she's happy with the connection that it becomes.

I guess I won't have a chance to try your suggestion a while later... Thanks anyway!

  • Ethernet connection in the back of a HP Officejet Pro 8500

When I bought my printer 3 years ago, I NEVER thought that I would need a printer capable of wifi.  Surprise!

I thought I had read that you could buy wifi adapters to allow a wifi component.  Made a few calls and told me that there is no such thing.

A salesman asked if my 8500 had an Ethernet connection on the back.  I didn't, but when I got home, it is there, just at the edge of the printer, "Ethernet".  According to the seller at OfficeMax, I can connect an Ethernet cable from the printer to my router and which would allow me to use the printer with my laptop and the Droid Razr.  Yes?

So I just have to run a cable from the printer to the router and follow (I hope) on the orientation of the screen?

I know I have to download a printer on my phone app.

I have I am on the right track PATH out of it?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

    Monica

Yes, the connection to the network cable would allow you to print from your PC and phone (with an appropriate application).  After connecting search for a program under Start, all programs, HP, HP Officejet Pro 8500 and search for the file "printer setup".  Run this and select "add a new printer.
