Shortly after plugging in an Ethernet cable, I get a BSOD (win 7)

As the title says one or two minutes after I have connect an Ethernet cable into my pc it crashes with a BSOD (see photograph).

I searched online and found several topics covering the same accident that the claim that the TI is caused by Atheros ethernet controller drivers.

I downloaded the latest drivers Atheros and I bought DriverDoc only to make sure that all my drivers are up to date. Frustrating after installing the latest drivers crash still occurs. I considered buying a dedicated network adapter, but before I tried I thought it might be interesting to ask a question here. I can provide a crashdump or more information system if necessary.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Harry

I'm not familiar with Bulguard but you have Agnitum Firewall.  Please check that you do not have as long as it may be the source of the problem

  • No internet connection with C6300 only cable modem/router - No. Ethernet cable plugged

About once or twice a week I wake up my desktop PC and see an icon (bottom right) which indicates that I have no internet connection. When I run the troubleshooter network (right-click on the icon) it says to plug in my ethernet cable. I replaced the cable with another know good cable, but the problem continues to return (though intermittently). If I unplug the ethernet cable from the port of my C6300 Netgear and plug it back in the same or another port, the internet connection is restored. I'm on Windows 10 edition 64 - bit OS on my desktop tower PC (Dell). My internet provider is Cox Communications through their cable with up to 100 Mbps of speed. • T460 touchpad responds liked when the Ethernet cable is plugged

    Hello

I bought a brand new ThinkPad T460 ten days ago and I noticed that when I plug in an Ethernet cable, the touchpad responds: just a few clicks and taps are missed, the movement is slow and and sometimes temporarily blocked. The touchpad comes alive again as soon as the Ethernet cable is disconnected. The trackpoint and trackpoint button above the touchpad are not affected, only the touchpad starts to misbehave.

This happens on both Windows and Linux, this isn't a problem of specific operating system. Furthermore, I checked to see if I am running the latest version of the BIOS, and I am. And there are no problems when you use the wireless adapter, but one of the reasons why I bought a ThinkPad was she has a port Ethernet, so not being able to use it would be extremely disappointing.

I checked to see if there are any IRQ conflicts for the touchpad, but could find none. The problem occurs when the computer is plugged in and when it runs on battery only. I also tried two different cables in the same router, each in a different router port, and the problem persisted.

I'm using the latest drivers for Windows 7 directly on the Lenovo site, and Arch Linux with kernel 4.4.5 - the Ethernet card is considered:

    e1000e [2.751703]: Intel® PRO/1000 3.2.6 - k network driver
    e1000e [2.751705]: Copyright (c) Intel Corporation 1999-2015.

Should I expect it is fixed with a BIOS update, or do I have to contact guarantee? It is unacceptable to live with it.

Tried in another House as promised, and the touchpad works very well with cable Ethernet is plugged. Also, before you leave the House with the problem, I discovered that the problem occurs only when the cable from my ISP switch is plugged into my router.

Respect my opinion that this machine deserves a stronger touchpad, but apparently is not due to lack of computer - under normal circumstances, there is no problem with the touchpad.

I'm stumped on how to proceed. Can I use a multimeter on the ISP switch from cable, but I'm not sure what to check (voltage? how does and between what son?). I'll also look into the suggestion of ferrite, I don't know where they are available - this thread is first heard of them.

Anyway, I wanted to just erase Lenovo name on it.

  • Windows 7 frozen on updates shortly after installation

Hello, I'm new to this forum, and Windows 7, please excuse my ignorance.  I just finished building a new computer today and I bought Windows 7 Home Premium from Newegg.  I ran all the tests that are appropriate from the bios and started from a LiveUSB of ubuntu so I know that work all parties.  When I installed Windows 7 it says I need update, 11 of them.  The thing was I didn't no card card or internet wireless to the computer and the motherboard does not have a wireless card built in, this confuses me because how he could know? (I guess that windows knows everything!)  I plugged in an Ethernet cable and connected to a modem.  After that I tried to install the updates, but he was slain on the 5 to 11 hours (5 OR 6) update now and I don't know what to do.  If anyone knows what to do please help!  In addition, just if any Microsoft Manager is reading this, I use Linux for years and move to Windows 7 and have problems on the first day is amazing because it's a product of $200.

What are the KB numbers for these updates? Have you tried to download them manually fromhttp://www.microsoft.com/downloads , and then install them?

Regarding problems with Windows, its small compared to Linux. Only 2 weeks, I tried to install Ubuntu 10.04 on four different offices, failed on two, unrecognized two video card. My email will not download evolving and there are all kinds of problems and inconsistencies. 64-bit Windows 7 is running on all of these systems and I didn't have to install something or to go to Windows Update. Lets not even get into networking. I can't even access a shared directory of a Windows on Ubuntu system, its asking me to go to the command line, run #ifconfig etho and still do not show or give me access to my Windows System. On Windows 7, all I had to do was change my workgroup name and all my machines have shown, created a working group and was immediately share music, photos and streaming videos of different machines in different parts on my wireless network. I even installed Ubuntu in a virtual machine, and it still gives problems, because it's a particular configuration for Ubuntu. I installed Windows 7 in a VM and I got Aero Glass and everything works. I can't even turn on the effects in a VM and Windows 7 this is out of the box. Even installing VMWare tools in a Windows 7 vm is so much easier. In Ubuntu, I had to go to the Terminal, type sudo-s to join the root account, type in different orders just to install some added functionality.

Come, Linux is nowhere near usable compared to Windows, and the problems you are experiencing are simply of a small group of people pass through box configuration scenarios.

  • Compaq 6910p - wireless adapter turns off when the ethernet cable is connected

    Hi all

Then, when I plug in an ethernet cable (connected to a router), my wireless adapter turns off.

He immediately turns on when I unplug the ethernet cable.

It isn't really a problem, either connection will provide my needs of networking, but it's just weird and I don't like it.

    Using Win7 Ultimate 64 bit.

    advice would be appreciated.

If you always want the wireless on, go into BIOS > Menu of device Configuration and activation to deactivate WLAN-LAN.

  • Whenever I connect to my HDTV using vga, I get a BSOD, even tried with different pc tv/cable

    Hello

Thank you for taking the time to read this! Yesterday that I tried to connect to an HDTV using VGA instead of someone else, worked well. Buy a vga cable today and connected to my 1080 p full hd Phillips and got a BSOD almost instantly. I tried some things and managed to do the work! Played skyrim for a little and left the laptop in sleep mode. Came, open upward and the screen stayed black, nothing I could do to get a Visual.
Now, whenever I connect the cable I get a BSOD, it works with any other laptop, excludes the cable and television.
I have updated all drivers in the list, checked my drive for errors using the good chkdsk, smart status on the disk is good, all withdrew. I know for a fact that my laptop works fine with extra monitors, we use all the time on my internship and as stated, it worked yesterday on another TV.
    Features of the laptop:

    ASUS n73jn

    processor Intel i5 460 m
    NVIDIA geforce 335 m
    Windows 7 64 bit
    4 GB ddr3 RAM
the HDMI port is dysfunctional, just a few flickering screens filled with black lines, that's why I try vga. My guess is the hdmi port is DOA, but did not have a hd tv up to 2 years after purchase.

    Greetings,

Sorry, I was a little confused with the HDMI and VGA - continues to be the same advice.

Looks like you have isolated to a hardware problem.  With the Intel graphics card is not posted, I have to wonder if the hardware problem is with the graphics card Intel

FWIW - we have seen a number of overheating problems with the graphics from nVidia on your model.  Make sure the laptop is on a hard surface - and I would also use a filling of cooling (if possible) to ensure that the system is not overheating.

Install a new copy of Intel video drivers is probably the most important thing to do now - and ensure that this card appears in Device Manager (and check in the nVidia PhysX tab to see if it appears here - even though I'm not familiar with this program).

Try the video stress tests here: http://www.carrona.org/addldiag.html
They can show that there is a hardware problem - but a lot of this will involve what video card works at the time of the test (even once, I don't have a lot of experience to make systems to change video card).

    Good luck!

  • MB Pro restarts randomly with the ethernet cable is plugged

I recently bought a thunderbolt reduction - Ethernet [1] and it works very well. The problem is that when it is plugged in, my MacBook Pro (13', 2015, i5, 8 GB) gets very hot. This isn't a problem, but the next thing is really annoying.

Whenever I'm not load, but the ethernet cable is connected, and MacBook goes into sleep mode, the system turns off instead. Thus, for example, when I don't have the power cable and if go for 5 minutes, the system automatically sets the mode 'sleep'. When I come back, it is turned off, and when I hit the power button, a black screen with the Apple logo and a text in several languages, saying that the system restarted because of a problem. After that, MacBook starts normally.

    The same phenomenon occurs:

    • When the power cable is not connected and I close the screen
    • When the power cable is not connected and I SLEEP manually the MacBook
    • When the screen is closed and I plug the power or the ethernet cable

    I use OS X 10.11.

  • WiFi turns off after connected ethernet cable

    Hello

I have a laptop HP Compaq 6715 b. The problem is that I want to turn my pc into a wifi hotspot but whenever I plug the internet cable - the wifi disconnets. I can not activate with the touch button and it does not appear in the Panel when the cable is connected.

I heard that there is a kind of function integrated in HP laptops, but I'm not sure. How can I activate WiFi when using cable internet? Im running Windows 7 ultimate (32 bit).

    Please answer soon!

    Hello:

Yes, this is a default setting in the BIOS.

You must go into the BIOS menu, menu of sub device advanced configuration and disable the LAN WLAN switch setting.

Save the setting where you made the change by pressing the F10 key and again when you exit (save and exit).

The default is to keep the battery (no need to have the wireless network card using power when connected by cable.

Of course most of the time that you are connected to an ethernet cable, you are also connected to an a/c adapter.
