Smartphones blackBerry since rev.5 alarm function

Prior to revision 5, when in the form of the clock, what I had to do was press the trackball and the display of alarm came.  Once the alarm screen came, I had the opportunity to choose the time and the frequency of the alarm, IE. Only once, only on weekends or during the week.  I now only Monday to Friday option on or off.  Since I'm moving on professionally, I often have a wake-up call early on a weekend days.  This option is just simply unacceptable.  I even tried to regularise the upgrade. After support for the upgrade, I was allowed to set the alarm to the way in which I used only once.  Future attempts to make same resulted in revised alarm option... Verizon was no help!

The best way to set an alarm is to do from the calendar app.  Works slick.  You can set for one day only or on Saturdays or Sundays 1, etc.  Alarm in the calendar is one of the best things that RIM has ever done.

    Good guys.  I must be missing something here.  In OS5 to the home screen, you could just start manually dial a phone number.  In order to dial manually now, I have to go to application 'phone' everything first, and then dial.  I know that most of us dial directly from the list of contacts, but there are times I want to dial manually.  I found the option 'Run by typing', but I am only able to select 'universal search' or 'shortcuts application.  Is this function of operating system or theme?  And if so, is it possible for me to put up the phone so that I can dial directly from the home screen?

    Just tried it on mine with 6.0 normal just like dial and press send.  When you type 'number' the phone automatically performs a search, but the numbers are there in the title of research with the icon of the green phone next to them.  Give it a try.

    Installation script has detected the Priv in fastboot mode after lowering the volume + key combination of power and apparently started the update, but suddenly the phone restarted with black screen and led flashes between purple and green.

    Quick notes: I've updated devices BB10 via autoloader a couple of times and I did the update did not complete successfully using Mac OS (latest version), but I tried tha same procedure from a W7 PC too.

    Now, I'm still stuck with black screen and led flashing and computer does not detect the phone more. I tried all combinations of possible keys try to restart the phone but no luck.

    So I ask help to members of the community on what can I do to get it fixed, cause I think that the problem of Mayor is I'm in Spain...

    OK, it seems that I finally I could remedy then I'll write the steps that I followed, just in case.

    In my case, I was not able to start the phone in following mode fastboot with all combinations of keys, and the computer it has not detected:

    -Low volume + button.

    -High volume + button.

    -All buttons pressed at the same time.

    But after some trial and error, I pressed the middle (the toddler between flight up and down) button + power button and the phone started in mode 'starting'

    The computer detects it and loaded MM autoloader (first attempt get stuck again, but a 2nd went until the end). After that the phone boot up normally.

    Each time a random strange behavior or slowness comes, the first thing to try is a proper reboot:

    • With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes.

    See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

    If this isn't the case, then I recommend that you try to start safe mode:

    To add to the above, you will need to override the methods "automatic" which will use the foregoing. Left alone, the "automatic" methods will offer only you OS packages sanctioned by the carrier for which your BB was built (under the VendorID on the device). But, you are not limited only to those... the easiest is, on a PC (you can not do on MAC):

    1) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

    (2) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

    (3) download and install to your PC, the BB OS package you want:

    (4) If this OS package comes from one carrier other carrier for which your BB was built, then remove, on your PC, all copies of the SELLER. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
