Snow leopard 10.6.2 and scan HP J6410

I am on mac 10.6.2 and can not get HP J6410 scan wireless. I uninstalled all the software HP using ctrl, alt, cmd keys, then run the software update. I could print and scan printing using HP the and scan drivers ONLY when it is connected to the printer via a USB cable. After you have installed Office HP_Installer jet_Full_Group04_10.3.dmg I found Hello connection necessary to work wireless and added the printer still connected via USB. As soon as I disconnected the Usb cable and tried to print and scan wireless Hello just didn't work. I reset the system printer and tried to add the printer again but in "ADD PRINTER" window, there is nothing to add. I managed to connect to the wireless printer using the IP of the printer. Now, I can only print, but does not scan because there is no scan in the window "print & fax" button. Can someone advice how can I make the printer scanner wireless by using the IP Address of the printer or Hello connection works correctly?

Thanks in advance.

Hello

It is all sorted and I can scan and print using Hello connection without any problems at all.

I downloaded scan and drivers HP printer from the apple Web site, not on the HP support site. After the driver installation, I restarted the laptop AND the printer as well. And voila - everything works well. Thanks to everyone who tried to help me.

  • OfficeJet 6500 on Snow Leopard, scanning and fax questions

I finally got my wireless 6500 printer to print with Snow Leopard, but I can't scan or fax.  I contacted Applecare about this and they could not solve the problem.  These functions have been works fine under Leopard, but disappeared with Snow Leopard.  I read on an Apple forum that these functions will not work with Snow Leopard.  Is there a solution?  HP will address this issue in the near future?  All the world is facing this problem?  Help would be appreciated.  Thank you.

    Hello BillWilb,

Printing and scanning for the Officejet 6500 functions are fully supported in Snow Leopard.   You want to use the software that is included in 10.6, please do not use the old Leopard software.

This document will give you simple instructions on how to scan and print from Snow Leopard.

I hope this doc gets going again.

  • I've updated to Snow Leopard for OSX El Capitan as the info said that my Mac 2009 could be updated.  However, I had a lot of problems and it is extremely slow, among other things.  Should I have upgraded Yosemite or something else first?

I have a 2009 IMac and had Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and IPhotos, latest version.  While he was trying to use something new, I wanted to download (can't remember what now) my system said that I had to switch to OSX El Capitan, so I did.  Since then, I've had nothing but problems, the computer is very slow to open anything and Photos is terrible - I can't do anything with it and I hate it!  I much preferred IPhotos.  My question is, should I have upgraded to Yosemite or something else before going directly to El Capitan?  If so, what can I do now to remedy the situation?  Thanks for any advice.

My question is, should I have upgraded to Yosemite or something else before going directly to El Capitan?

No, but you must have insured all the software you have installed, changes to the system, in particular, was compatible with El Capitan.

You can use iPhoto, but you should get used to the Photos like iPhoto will be is more up-to-date and may stop working at some point.

If you run this program, it will show what is installed. After the output here and we might be able to offer advice on what's causing your problems

  • Epson R2400 (and perhaps other Epson printers) and Snow Leopard: a Solution

I installed Snow Leopard over the weekend and everything seemed to go well, except the re-installation of my Epson R2400.  It did not work.  The Epson Web site provides assistance for the R2400 snow leopard, but it's counterintuitive.  The following will save time.

First unplug the printer from the computer.

Then go to Preferences Mac system, printers and faxes and delete the printer Epson of the list.

Thirdly, put your Snow Leopard disc into your Mac and when the dialog box appears, folder select optional facilities (or something like that - I do not have open right now).  Then check Rosetta and install it.

Fourth, access the site Web of Epson.  You will need to download a new set of drivers.  Here is where it gets counter-intuitive.  Looks like you should use the first driver and utility package in the list, which is referred to as the Combo package.  It refers to Snow Leopard (10.6) and it is the most recent.  But you would be wrong using this simple logic.  You want to what is now the second driver in the list - v.57 print driver, which also meets the system requirements.

Fifth, v.57, download install it, reconnect your printer and it prints very well (I only made an impression so we'll see).

I don't know if the other high range Epson printers contain instructions on the wacky way, but if you are faced with a choice between a simple and a combo pack, you can try the simplest one first.

Hope that that someone saves time and aggrevation.

    Jack B. Siegel

PS this is not a new driver written for Snow Leopard - which can sometimes go down the road or not).  This, so I am told, is a Power PC driver and Rosetta (as in Rosetta stone) is a utility that converts so that it can be used on an iMac.

As a consumer, you should hate Epson.  They, like the world, knew that Snow Leopard was at least a year.  Now that they should have all new drivers and this should have been developed so that people didn't have to call technical support (a waste of time and of their of).  As the Epson R2400 is interrupted, they apparently are not required to provide the premium service and updates for it.  I bought mine about a 1.5 years.  They should not give up products that quickly after their abandonment.  As far as I know, they come out with a new printer in this price segment every two years.  I should not have bought a new printer every two years.

But as I said to myself yesterday as I struggled with the problem: if I can't print, I can't buy ink.

It's great, thank you very much. Works perfectly.

  • DeskJet D2660 on Snow Leopard?

    Hello

Im trying to install a Deskjet D2660 on a MacBook running Mac OS x 10.6 (Snow Leopard), the printer installs and is recognized by the machine even tell you that the printer door has been opened or a new cartridge has been installed and needs alignment, but she won't let you go further with the alignment, or it will allow you to print.

Snow Leopard apparently has this built-in printer drivers, but the last person who tried to install this printer on this machine admitted that they had installed the CD while trying to make it work.

    Any Suggestions?

    See you soon

    Fraser

Edit: The printer prints perfectly on my machine windows 7, so im pretty confident the printer works well.

Unless your CD says it supports in particular 10.6 Snow Leopard, you must uninstall the software No-10, 6 by using the "scrubber":

Go to Applications/Hewlett Packard / click Uninstall HP
    Click on continue
Highlight your device in the left pane
Hold down the Ctrl and Opt Cmd and click on uninstall
There will be a pop up that asks if you are sure you want to uninstall all hp software. (At this point, if you continue, all HP printers you have installed will need to be reinstalled)
Click on continue and let it finish

    Restart your Mac

    Now run a software update.

Then, remove and reinstall the printer in System Preferences, Print & Fax.

You do not have the software now since Snow Leopard as well print & scan drivers built-in. scan from Preview apps or Image Capture. Scan from the front panel of the printer does not work yet.

  • Cannot synchronize my mac with snow leopard 10.6 with my itunes on iphone

I use MacBook with Snow Leopard, version 10.6 and sync to my iphone with itunes 6.

For these last months, the computer commented that the itunes on the iphone was not updated and cannot sync.

But the itunes on the iphone is the latest version. Is the obsolete software in my MacBook? What should I do?

Operating system of your computer is obsolete. A device running iOS 9 requires Mac OS X 10.8.5 or newer for synchronization; a MacBook must have an identifier of model at least MacBook5, 1 to run a compatible operating system.

  • Update of os x Snow Leopard to El Capitan 10.11.5 10.6.8

    Hi all...

I just upgraded my Macbook Pro 13 "since mid-2010 at the El Capitan 10.11.5."

    Configuration of my Macbook Pro:

2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

    4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3

    NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 MB

These are the problems I encounter:

    • I can't switch between the previous page and next page with 3 fingers sliding left or right, I could do without effort on my previous version of the osx
    • The startup time is very high... (40 seconds to 1 minute)
    • The system preference takes time to open

Please help on the above problems.

The only reason to upgrade my Macbook Pro has been because the iTunes was not compatible with my new iPhone SE. (there where we need the itunes 12.3.3.17 and who used to work on my OSx snow leopard 10.6.8)

Please help me to solve the above problems. Also let me know if I need a downgrade to older versions of the operating system

    Check your trackpad settings

 > System Preferences > Trackpad to scroll through the options

To be honest, with only 4 GB of RAM and running El Cap - it all seems normal with a HD of spinning.  Snow Leopard is much lighter and compact operating system.

The only reason to upgrade my Macbook Pro has been because the iTunes was not compatible with my new iPhone SE.

It doesn't pay to get too far behind in technology or OS X.

Add more RAM and an SSD, you'd be amazed at the difference. Check out https://www.macsales.com/

  • Firefox 13.0.1 breaks option + click to download the shortcut on the snow leopard.

I've recently updated to ff 13.0.1 on both my cell mbp and mini mac, both running snow leopard 10.6.8 and option + click shortcut keyboard/mouse is longer functioning. The option key is def. operation, because it works for other purposes (non-firefox). This happens also in safe mode of ff, is probably not a problem with a plug-in.

Hey dsmbgu8, this feature has been disabled by default in firefox 13 - view back to the, enter Subject: config in the address bar, search for the preference named browser.altClickSave and toggle true by double-clicking it.

  • Using Snow Leopard 10.6.8

    Hi Gang

In what concerns a friend MA877LL iMac update to 'Maverick' and having many gels and other pending issues, I'm going to reformat and return to Snow Leopard. Note that this person uses not all professional applications of any kind. She would like to go back and use the mail program and the version of Safari initially provided with this iMac about 9 year.

It has all the original disks and save anything necessary.

I'm quite familiar with the process of reformatting but have a few questions about 10.6.8:

Considering that Apple takes more support for Snow Leopard, there are still many people out there who are satisfied using 10.6.8. I just want to know if there are questions of possible "Head Up" as for safety, Safari, e-mail within 10.6.8 client or something else?

Y at - it an available (in 10.6.8) update of Safari , which could add a security if it's a problem? Or maybe install Mozilla for Mac would be beneficial somehow?

    Thank you!

    Mike

Currently, there are now a large number of sites that require new versions of Safari. This requires the upgrade of OS X, which is not possible with some 2007 models: iMac (mid-2007 or newer) - model identifier 7.1 or later. To find the identifier of the model open system information in the Utilities folder. It is displayed in the Panel on the right.

If erase you the drive, you will need to install Snow Leopard in order to further improve. This means that it must have a copy of the retail DVD of Snow Leopard. If it is that: you can buy Snow Leopard at the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (US). The price is $ 19.99 plus tax. You will receive a physical media by mail after placing your order.

After the installation of Snow Leopard you will need to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Combo Update v1.1 update Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store.

It can download El Capitan or Mavericks. The Mavericks can be found in the purchase page of the App Store, where she is the re - download. El Capitan would be a new download.

Please see the following: basic steps for the OS X upgrade, How to install or reinstall OS X on your Macor upgrade to OS X El Capitan.

  • HP Officejet 6210 All in One not working with Snow Leopard

Downloaded SL yesterday and all of a sudden I cannot print.  It is considered to be one of the compatible printers.  I did a print test and it worked, but none of my apps (Word, Safari, etc.) will be printed.  I have checked my selection of the pilot, system information, deleted the driver, reinstalled the driver (from the MAC disk supplied with the printer), unhooked and rehooked everything, restarted my computer, etc.  Can't seem to connect my printer to my applications, even though the MAC in the preferences system, etc., seems to recognize it.  Any ideas?  Thank you

Tried all of this.   Didn't work unfortunately but thank you for trying to help.  Finish reloading Snow Leopard all over again and that seems to help to deal with many problems.  Don't know why reload solved a lot of problems but at least I can print in Word which was what I really need at the moment to get a project.

    Thanks again!

  • C4780 not within the reach of network wifi iMac airport w / Snow Leopard

    Hello

I bought a new iMac on Snow Leopard w / a C4780 and can't do the printer to connect to my airport base station...

I printed the Page of Config HP network: status is currently offline, but everything else looks good/activated.

My wifi SSID network appear in the list of the network discovered in the channel 11 (from recommendations), confidentiality RSN, Auth WPA - PSK, AES/TKIP encryption and the strongest signal @-38.

When I try to configure the wireless printer to my iMac, I get the famous error of "network unreachable /not/ at hand", which is obviously misleading...

I read the older posts on the subject, but I don't have the option "Add a wireless client" on my airport (I assume it is an older model).

    What can I do?

Well, the best thing to do is to move the equipment much more close to each other for the installation process can move anywhere once they are configured.  This has been shown to work.

What model is your airport? As far as I know all the places Airport Extreme have the option of the WPS, you just go at the top of your screen (on the top menu bar) and select "Add Wireless Clients" in the menu "basic Station.

  • C5180 scanning and copying the black leaves after Snow Leopard upgrade

the machine prints since Mac perfectly, if there is a little bit slower than before starting and not offering is not the same features, even through an excerpt.

However, scan and copy are leaves only in black.

I made the suggested HP set again which did not improve anything; I looked at downloads of diagnoses, but they do not say that it is compatible with Mac.

Is this problem one leopard snow associated one or is - just that the C5180 is dead?  If it's the snow leopard, can anyone advise me on how to fix it?

If the copy does not work from the front panel, then your scanner is dead.  I'm sorry.

  • Snow Leopard & C4588: how to reset the printing and scanning system.

    Original problem...

    1. After upgrading to Snow Leopard, the hp utility stopped working for me. It does not detect any of the device. Surprisingly, Capture of Image began to work with my printer via wifi c4588. He didn't use to work in Leopard.
    2. The analyses have a reddish tint.

This software you re-install?  This one for Snow Leopard?  The one on the CD is probably for Leopard and should be uninstalled.

In addition, do an update as soon as you get the right software installed.
