So slow connection wireless but ok with dongle...

I am running Vista Premium on a Compaq Pressario laptop and had no problem until last week. then I connected to my wireless laptop one day and it was so slow, I restarted and did it again. No joy, it is still slow. I can not connect my camera or phone on the laptop because it will not recognize either. In Device manager all my 6TO4 adapters are highlighted so are also all my ISATAP adapters. I tried to uninstall / reinstall but not good. If I plug my Dongle my connection is back to normal, but still not not recognizing my USB key. So I can't load my phone or transfer through photos. System restore would not have worked either. I've been on a lot of forums and these network adaptors cause a lot of problems for people. Any help would be accepted with gratitude!

Hello

I'm sorry that I have to keep asking questions rather than give answers.

You do not have a public network topology and I can well understand how it works.

Where your main computer becomes the Internet from?

If it is connected directly to the Internet via cable, and you have a secondary wireless card in the host computer. So I guess that the device wireless using the wireless adapter and configured Ad - Hoc with ICS.

If you unplug the main Internet streams and connect a Dongle (wireless Internet), then ICS must be reconfigured to work with the Dongle and wireless adapter...

If indeed all the above devices using ICS with high AD - Hoc wireless connection, it will work very slow as the Ad - Hoc wireless connection is incapale to adequately provide some customers 'Speed' (it is the nature of the 802.11 g Wireless ad-hoc).

The general public solution to this problem is to use the cable/DSL router wireless to the Internet source.

Regarding the USB ports. The electric current which can be taken from the USB ports is limited and particularly weak in laptop computers.

Connect devices like a phone or USB to USB light charger a computer judge the electric current is too weak to support at the moment where another device.

As a guess, are this system installed in a recreational vehicle, or trailer using public access point?

  • Computer Dell laptop connects wireless but not online

I have a Dell laptop that I bought about five months ago. We just bought a router wireless about two weeks ago and it was working fine until a few days ago, when the internet connection is slow all day until we have reset the internet modem itself. That day, my computer wouldn't connect to the internet after a few hours of surfing on slow internet. After that reset us it, he started to work very well. Then, the next day it was working fine until it just stopped to let us browse the internet. My desktop computer that uses a USB connection wireless and the Xbox 360 with WiFi, both work. Now, I pressed my button wireless countless times, and I am connected to my network with almost full bars. Some of the software on my computer can connect to the internet, as the update of windows, but I can't use any internet browser - I use Safari, but I tried as well IE. When I look at the plan of the connection, there is a line dashed to the router from my computer, but he always says that I have full internet access. Has connectivity IPv4 and IPv6 is not. I tried to uninstall my card, but it did not reinstall rebooted once and I undid the system restore I had tried a few days earlier to pick up my internet. We also tried to connect with an ethernet cable - says there is connection, but also will not let me do anything. Also, I ran diagnostics on my cards and Windows said reset, but I still have the problem and it "resets" whenever the diagnostics are executed. IP address of my router starts with 192. I've searched and searched for answers, but nothing works.

  • OfficeJet J6450 - printer connects wireless but does not print job cable modem replacement

Material: My printer is an OfficeJet J6450. I am running Windows Vista, current update.

Probably triggering the event: I replaced my modem docsis 3.0 with a doscis 2.0 modem. PSI has remained the same. All other software and firewall remained the same.

Dysfunction: After the replacement of cable modem, I found that I could print is no longer in my HP OfficeJet 6450. I would get an error in the printer window ' error - print. "  After the reboot after the publication of the initial error, I would get the error "error - sent to the printer.

Use the connection for the network printer wizard, I entered the router password wireless to the printer. At first I don't have a connection. Then I rebooted the computer and the printer. I also returned to the default setting of network on the printer and repeated the configuration of the network. The connection was finally successful.

The automatic test of the network page and the network printer wizard confirms the connection. Digital display of the printer and the HP diagnostic utility has also confirmed the connection. But the diagnostic utility is unable to print a test page and throw an error - "Print Test failed.

The result disappointing:  I still can't anything to print wireless.

  • Laptop can connect wirelessly, but not through cable utp to the internet. Help!

I tried to connect my computer laptop windows 7 to the internet using a utp cable. Unfortunately, without success. Works with wireless, but in my dorm, I cannot use internet via cable. I tried to turn off the wireless, but that did not work either the comouter does not recognize that the cable is already connected. Please help me solve this problem.

Thanks for your help in advance! :)

I would check the cable carefully.  Sometimes, some of the wires are loose from the plug.  See if the laptop can connect to cables in other places.  If possible, the problem is with the cable and not on your computer.

    Good luck.

  • HP Deskjet 3522 connected wireless but windows 7/8 can't find the printer

First day, I installed and updated the printer and the software and it worked perfectly, I could print wireless and email with eprint and print it out.

The day after the computer could not detect the printer,

    Here is what I tried:

    • I tried to uninstall the printer and install again
    • factory reset
    • connect with WPS
    • installed with usb, and then try again to convert wireless
    • I set up the connection manually and also for the software settings to automatically
    • I tried the scan doctor
    • I tried with another computer
    • reset the router.

and nothing has worked. The printer indicates that it is connected, the only thing I can do, is that it works with the usb and send emails to the printer, then it might print "wireless".

Hi alex-86. A hard reset is accomplished simply by unplugging the printer while it is on and then with 30 - ish and plug again. I'm not sure that this will solve the problem that you are familiar with. If she works initially then stopped, you can consider power cycling your router as well.

It is a fairly comprehensive list of measures you should get back up and running. Let me know how it goes.

  • My toshiba satellite pro is connected wireless through a 3g dongle but I can't seem to print on my epson BX600FW printer despite the use of the ad-hoc method

I am really struggling to connect and print wireless. I rang EPSON who suggested that I connected using the AD-HOC method. This method applies to the use of a laptop computer and a wireless printer but without router.

You are therfore impression on an AD-HOC (as and when) basis.

I followed the instructions and created an AD HOC network. The 3g dongle works wirelessly and I can use internet. He told me that the signal strength is excellent. But when I try to print there is no answer. He just informed me that there is no network connection.

I've been around the houses of connection / disconnection to nothing does not. If I tried to remedy the situation from now until midnight, I'd be no closer. Me, that I tried to believe you. So folks, has anyone got any ideas? If I thought that buying a router, that it would be useful, I'd be out immediately and buy a.

If that didn't help then share what router you're using, please indicate brand and model? I'll offer to make sure that your router is updated with the most recent firmware, also I personally always use Google's DNS servers. Some servers DNS provided by your ISP (Internet service Provider)

You can change this setting by going to do the following:

Press the Win key on your keyboard.

    1. Type Ncpa.cpl (this will take you to the network connections)
    2. Select your wireless connection
    3. You will see a screen on the botton, you will see a button called properties, near the left button
    4. On the Properties menu go to IpV4 (if you don't see scroll down) double-click to open
    5. In this screen, you will see (get IP address automatically) slot that you wil see the Obtain DNS server address automatically select this option
    6. Type 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 airfield

I will also choose a static IP address, and this can be done here as well.

  • Photosmart Premium C309m cannot connect wireless, but Setup is OK

I felt for a few months and in the last days he stopped wireless connection. I use Windows 7 and restored to the previous time, but it has not fixed the problem. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software, turned the printer power button etc but it's the same question.

When I open the HP Solution Center, I get the message saying the printer is disconnected. If I go to the printer and use the Network Wizard it can communicate with the router and I get a Test report saying 'congratulations etc etc and everything's a pass

Looking at the config menu router you can see that the printer is there but its status is not active.

The IP address remains the same, but when I look for the printer on the network, McAfee I can't.

    Any ideas?

OK, rented DSL routers are, well, problematic.  Sometimes the DSL providers have more control on their router like the printer.

-Unplug the phone line from the router
-Cut the power to the router, wait 30 seconds, then turn on the power.
-Go through the normal process of the printer connected to the router.
-Now to find the IP address of the printer (it should be on the self-test printout), type it in a browser.
-On this screen, you will find a tab management network, then on the left wireless, then the IPv4 tab.
-On this screen, you want to set a manual IP address. You must assign an IP address outside the range that the router sets automatically (called the DHCP range). If you know what it is, set an IP address outside this range but not exceeding 254 (the last number of the address). If you do not know, use the current IP address.
-Apply the subnet 255.255.255.0 (unless you know it's different, if so, use it)
-Let the white gateway and DNS
-Finally, connect the telephone line, restart the router and the test.

In addition, WEP is quite sure.  It can be broken with freeware in 10 minutes approximately.  You can change your WPA or WPA2 security type?
