SRI-WAAS and AppNav

Hi all

Situation is the following. I have 2 routers x 4351-AX with the SSD upgrades and memory etc. Let's finish MPLS and other internet DMVPN or similar and both with RSR-WAAS configured.

Is there an argument to have these set up a stand-alone WAAS devices or should they be in a cluster of AppNav? There are advantages and disadvantages to each method here?

As Akamai Connect running on just the unit facing internet, does that mean it shouldn't be part of a cluster of AppNav?

Thanks in advance.

You should have configured cluster AppNav SRI-WAAS part. You can not have WCCP on the single Appnav SRI-WAAS interception.

The new WAAS codes may work with Akamai to connect.

  • SRI-WAAS with two routers

    Hello!

Is it possible to have two routers (including one with RSR-WAAS and the other without) on a remote site router without ISR-WAAS to use the ISR-WAAS of the other router? (I have only finddual router with dual WAAS SRI in the CVD).

    Concerning

    Michael

    Hi Michael,

    Yes it is possible.

However, the Redirect method depends on what type of router without ISR-WAAS is:

    another report of research international-4000:

You can use AppNav (the two routers in the same groups of Application Controller & the SRI-WAAS as the sole member af of the AV/Waas node group).

    almost any other router:

You can use WCCP on both routers redirecting to the SRI-WAAS.

  • SRI-WAAS, Manager of plant by the name of "No.-HOSTNAME".

    Hello!

Im trying to record 4 ISR-WAAS to a manager of the plant, but every time I run the installation procedure, the first SRI-WAAS record well, but with the host name NON-HOSTNAME; and the next SRI WAAS also. For this reason, I got an error message that there is another device with this hostname and I can't change it! ...

Already try the command hostname inside the console of the SRI-WAAS, but does not work... I also tried to change the host name in the Central Manager, but I can't find the way.

    Any advice?

    Thanks in advance.

  • WAAS and quality of Service (Jacques)

I currently have WAAS deployed in my environment. I would like to introduce you to David in order to avoid the overiding my network sessions. However, my engineer WAAS think that using WAAS would pose a problem.

    Question:

At least once a week a user trying to ftp a large file by internet, which eventually cause saturation and performance issues. The internet is through the data center so evacuation qos is used.

    Internet - WAAS - router = MPLS = router - WAAS - customer

Since there is no way to set entry in the form. And that would be not entirely help either. I need a session by session in the congestion management solution. So introduce WRED. Who's going to look like that.

    Internet---WAAS---Router===MPLS===Router--(wred)---WAAS---Client

On the internal interface LAN's going to regulate the sessions of infiltration to the local network for the State of congestion.

    The problem for thought.

Let's say that in a State of congestion THAT DAVID randomly deletes packages for reducing the size of the window of a ftp session through WAAS. How WAAS would meet abandonment random packages? These drops are going to the source of the packets to reduce or WAAS is she as a source? Specialty WAAS's performance, so it is supposed to compensate for the fall of packages. In this scenerio is WAAS the problem?

If you are an expert in WAAS, I welcome your opinion.

    Hi Derek,.

As you have known it WAAS technology runs on the TCP proxy feature by masking the real customers of WAN environment. Thus, any packet loss (whether because the WAN congestion or because of DAVID) will be handful of WAAS TFO (using BIC and BAG) and will not gas real customers.

Also optimized thanks to the WAAS TFO feature automatically traffic supports the ECN of DAVID function also.

With Skype, your location is unimportant. Calls to (or within) the United States wherever you are cost 2.3 cents / minute or part of it.

You can easily find the information yourself with a little research here:

TIME ZONE - US EAST. LOCATION - PHILADELPHIA, PA, USA.

I recommend that you always run the latest version of Skype: Windows & Mac

  • WAAS for RADIUS and Windows Server 2012 NPS server configuration

I have trouble getting our WAAS to authenticate devices and connection via RADIUS.  Running NPS on Windows Server 2012.  Confirmed that my device WAAS can ping the IP address of the RADIUS server.  Using the attribute Type of administrative service under network policies.  Look in the event viewer, I get an error with event ID 15, "a malformed RADIUS message has been received of the xxxx-WAAS-01 customer. The data is the RADIUS message. »

Right now, I can connect with only the local default user and password name.  Here are a few config for WAAS, running version 6.2.1:

    RADIUS server key *.
    Server RADIUS auth-host 10.194.10.13 port 1645
    !
connection of local authentication enable secondary
    enable login authentication RADIUS primary
    local authentication configuration enable secondary
Service radius Authentication configuration Select primary
    failover of authentication server unavailable

I confirmed that my shared key is entered correctly on the WAAS and the NPS.  I have the switches/routers Cisco works well on the same RADIUS server.

Someone had a bit of luck plug their WAAS to RADIUS devices using Windows Server 2012 and NPS?  If so, please share additional measures you have taken to get things to work.

    Hi Paul,.

Based on the RADIUS error you probably experience failure CSCva14731. This was discovered with Cisco ACS, but can affect other RADIUS servers.

To confirm, you can check the corresponding error in syslog WAAS:

authenticate: % WAAS-UNKNOWN-3-899999: pam_radius_auth: talk_radius: RADIUS server did not respond (timeout 5 (sec))

Also, this defect would not affect peripheral on software 5.x WAAS.

The problem will be solved in 6.2.3 to come free.

  • Unavailability of the Sinhalese on update Android Lollipop (5.02)

Sony has Sinhalese revmoved of their new update of Lollipop (5.02)

I got my update Android Lollipop (5.02) yesterday for my Sony Xperia Z2 (D6503) and I'm really disappointed when I realized that Sony withdrew Sinhala (Unicords) update stock Android Google Lollipop. I know for a fact that since Android Lollipop (5.00) in rooms, Google had relased their Android platform, including the SINHALA language.  I don't know why Sony removed intentionally, and I believe, as a big fan of Sony, I have a right to know!

Sony has been a brand established in Sri Lanka for so long and even without official support there are many people using Sony designers. It's something unjustand unaccpetable. You will never know the feeling when you can't read your native language on your phone.

I believe that the ability to use a preferred language is a right as a user of Sony and you took this right to me when you have removed the language SINHALA new update of your device.   I would like to show you how it shows me my language on my xperia from Sony Z2.

I don't know any user of Sony you feel even if they were to see their language like that. Even Google traslator now are the Sinhalese supported. and remove my telephone is unacceptable.

I hope that the Sony team will take this issue seriusly and give me a positive response. I'm begging you to include Sinhala at the least the next update from. There are 20 million people speaking Sinhalese in Sri Lanka and also aroud the world. Sony must have Sinhala. If I don't have a positive feedback, this could be the last time I buy a Sony divide again. I'm sure the feeling is mutual with every Sri Lankan.

    So please!

In the Android 6.0 update, we will support SINHALA rendering of fonts. This means that there are SINHALA content in an application, for example when you look at BBC Sinhala in Facebook, it will be made and you will be able to read it. However, the Xperia devices will not support Sinhalese as a language of the phone. We will not for example Sinhala menus.

  • WAE free CM

    Mr President.

We have two registered with CM already WAEs and optimize traffic. Now, after some change of routing, one of the WAE cannot access the CM more. It will keep the traffic optimization without access to the CM?

    Thank you

    Hi Joseph,.

Even if you run some of these below in the CLI, it would be difficult to:

    • Monitor and maintain the WAAS system
    • deploy, or change the policies, etc.

If your race with certificates or secure store, it would be almost impossible,

So really, I suggest that you change the routing or get the problem fixed otherwise.

  • command ' ip wccp redirect exclude in. "

Hi all, I'll have trouble understanding how the command ' ip wccp redirect exclude in "and hoped someone would be able to give me more information on this subject.

I know that it must be on the interface/subnet where WAAS is connected when "redirect" is used on another interface. I also know that it is used to prevent forwarding loops. What I don't understand is, why it is only necessary when 'redirect' is used, and not when "redirect to" is used?

    Thank you all.

    Hello

Outbound loops are caused because, before the traffic is sent out of  an interface, it is first redirected back in to the network to the WAAS  for optimisation. Once optimisation is done, the WAAS then sends the  traffic back to the router. If the "ip wccp redirect exclude in" command  is not used on the interface that the WAAS is  connected to, when the traffic reaches the router's interface that has  the outbound redirection, it will then re direct the traffic back to the  WAAS and the whole process will start again (and will continue to  loop).

If,  however, the "ip wccp redirect exclude in" command was put on the  router's interface that connects to the WAAS, when the WAAS sent the  optimised traffic back to the router, instead of the router sending it  back to the WAAS again, the router will know that the traffic should not  be optimised (or re-optimised in this case) so it sends the data out of  the network towards the WAAS at the remote site.

Your understanding is 100% correct. This is precisely what is happening.

Now, in  regards to inbound redirection, the reason why the "ip wccp redirect  exclude in" command (or a similar one) isn't required for inbound  redirection is because the traffic never reaches a redirected interface  twice, therefore a loop cannot form. For example, with outbound  redirection, the traffic hits the outbound interface, then gets sent to  the WAAS, then gets sent back to that same outbound interface that has  the redirection on it. However, with inbound redirection, the traffic  hits the inbound interface, it is then sent to the WAAS, the WAAS then  sends it back to the router and instead of the traffic being sent back  to the same interface that intercepted the traffic (as is the case with  outbound redirection), the traffic is instead sent out a different  interface on the router and therefore it is not intercepted again.

    Again, it is correct.

  • Cisco ISR 4400 series SSLVPN Support

    Hello

New series routers Cisco ISR 4400 support SSLVPN?

According to the feature for this, but according to the document browser 4451-X Q & A is not.

Does that mean I can or Canon use the AnyConnect client?

    Thank you.

    Kind regards

    Armand

According to documents that I looked, new SRI (4300 and 4400) 4000 series doesn't support SSL VPN at all:

    http://www.Cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/products/collateral/routers/4000-series-integrated-services-routers-ISR/enterprise-routing-portfolio-poster.PDF

    http://www.Cisco.com/c/en/us/products/routers/4000-series-integrated-services-routers-ISR/series-comparison.html

It is possible that the AnyConnect client may be still usable for IKEv2/IPSec VPN connectivity, but SSL seems to be off the table in these units.

My guess would be that access the VPN feature is moved exclusively to the portfolio of the SAA, but which is slowed down just think.
