Static route of VPN in EIGRP redistribution (FD is Inaccessible)

Hi all

I redistribute the site to site VPN static route in EIGRP, but what I noticed on the 6509 when I sh ip eigrp 200 topol, the static route to the ASA "FD is inaccessible."

6509 output:

Thank you

Thomas,

When the flight director is not accessible in the EIGRP topology table, the router does not use this EIGRP route in its routing table.

Probably, the road is overridden by any other routing protocol that has the lowest administrative distance.

Could you please share the routing table?

Thank you.

  • Next hop for the static route on the VPN site to site ASA?

    Hi all

I would be grateful if someone could help me with my problem ASA/misunderstanding. I have a VPN site-to site on a SAA. I want to add a floating static route to point to the VPN on the ASA. Note that the traffic in this way is not with in subnets cryptographic ACL that is used to bring up the VPN. This VPN is used only as a backup.

The static route with the next hop add local public address or the remote public address of the VPN? The next break maybe local ASA isp internet facing interface? I intend to do on the ASDM. I'm sorry if it's a simple question but I found no material that explains this?

    Concerning

    Ahh, ok, makes sense.

The next hop should be the next jump to the interface that ends the VPN connection, essentially the same as your Internet connection / outside the next hop interface.

    Example of topology:

    Site B (outside interface - 1.1.1.1) - (next hop: 1.1.1.2) Internet

    The static route must tell:

    outdoor 10.2.2.2 255.255.255.255 1.1.1.2 200

    I hope this helps.

  • Redistribution of static routes in OSPF

    Hi all

It seems that the static routes can still live even if the designated interface went down.

I added a description for this problem file.

    Stephen,

I don't know why the distribution list did not work. Did you include the permit all at the end of the access list? Without it, you wouldn't get the external routes, as you journey.

I have just re-read the documentation for the ip route, 12.2 and 12.4, ' cos I wasn't aware of the useful form of the command that Rick suggested. Here is an excerpt:

Specifying a next digital jump which is on a directly connected interface will prevent the router to use Proxy ARP. However, if the next hop interface breaks down and the digital next hop can be reached by a recursive route, you can specify hop and the following interface (for example "ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 Ethernet1/2 10.1.2.3") with a static route to avoid the roads pass through an unintentional interface.

Which describes your problem exactly, I think. He comes:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/products/SW/iosswrel/ps1835/products_command_reference_chapter09186a00800ca75a.html#wp1018065

Therefore, the interface specification that force the static route to use only a local next hop.

  • A Site at IOS IPSEC VPN and EIGRP

    Hello

I have a connection of remote site to base via a VPN IPSEC router. I don't want to run EIGRP accoss VPN. Howerver I want adverstise the rest of the network from the router of core of the subnet to the remote site.

The remote VPN subnet is managed as a route connected on the router base?

Configuriguring a statement of network to the remote site on the router base will cause EIGRP announce the road?

    You are right.

RRI (reverse Route Injection) is the correct way to announce remote routes as static routes on the HUB, and all what you need to do is redistribute static in EIGRP, so she is redistributed in your EIGRP.

    Here is an example configuration:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/products/ps6120/products_configuration_example09186a00809d07de.shtml

(It's about OSPF and IPSec VPN dynamics, however, the concept is the same for ipsec site-to-site and redistribution in EIGRP)

    Hope that helps.

  • Static routing LRT214 does not

    Hello

I have a hard time with a static routing on LRT214.

    My configuration:

    * LRT214 (recently purchased), acting as a gateway to the internet, local subnet is 192.168.28.0/24

    * There is a local VPN (192.168.28.98) server on the local network, serving a LAN tunnel with subnet 192.168.29.0/24. on LRT214 port forwarding is configured

I can connect to my VPN server on the internet, and I can access the machine running on the VPN server (for example via ssh).

However, I can not connect to any other computer on my LAN, although I tried

adding another subnet under Configuration > network > LAN settings

    * setting up a static route under Setup > Advanced Routing (kind of route add - net 192.168.29.0/24 gw 192.168.28.98)

of course, when I add the itinerary of statitc over any computer on the local network, I can connect via VPN tunnel to the machine, so its clearly a problem of LRT214.

Please help, how can I configure a static route for this scenario in the user Web interface?

    The SPI Firewall, intercept traffic.

As far as I understand, it could be that when the VPN server sends data to another machine on the local network, this happens on layer 2 (where the SPI Firewall not listening), while the return on the VPN server traffic is routed higher up in the stack, where the SPI listening and intercept.

So, I will use the above workarounds, or put the OpenVPN server on a different subnet or VLAN, which I do anyway. I tried a basic configuration of VLAN yesterday (just put the Server full VPN with all interfaces in one VLAN separated), with InterVLAN routing enabled, but there seems to be some particularities with it (like the ping works, but not ssh). In any case, it's another story. Thanks for you support.

  • Remove the static route by default

    Hello

I have a switch L3 which has a static default route pointing to a FW that is connected to a circuit of the Internet. The same L3 switch made EIGRP routers on our MPLS network. If this default static route disappears EIGRP will inject a default route, and users will receive their Internet traffic through the MPLS cloud as a backup.

My question is how to remove this static road by default with a mechanism that is unique on the Internet circuit. I can't count on line protocol because it almost never goes down. I can't rely on Internet ping IP SLA addresses because if they descended through the Internet channel available on the circuits quickly and create a loop of the SLA of intellectual property.

I wish I could do BGP with the Internet provider but this circuit is in a country where it would be difficult.

Any ideas on how to remove this default static route based on something that is unique to this tour of the Internet.

    Thank you

    P.

"I can't rely on Internet addresses ping IP SLA because if they descended through the Internet channel available on the circuits quickly and create a loop IP SLA."

To remedy this situation, you must add a route with the 'permanent' switch at the end of any IP you track on your IPSLA... In this way, if this interface is down, your ping IPSLA would stop and IPSLA would be the move and change your default route.

    Example:

    Route IP 1.1.1.1 255.255.255.255 2.2.2.2 Permanent

where 1.1.1.1 is the IP address, you are followed and 2.2.2.2 is your 'usual' default gateway

you use the subnet mask different than the one you used. According to the route table entry mask is 29

    Try this,

    1] r2 (config) #no ip route 172.168.0.0 255.255.255.248 192.168.2.2

or 2] another easy method would be to check the working config and copy stick with 'no' at the beginning.

See the race | include the ip route

Copy the static route statement and paste this what with 'no' in the global configuration and check the routing table.

  • burned by another router through vpn

    Hello

    Here's the deal:

    RV042G <--------VPN------->ROUTER1 ROUTER2<---lan1--><---lan2--->

I have a RV042G connected to a router '1' (LAN1) via a VPN. I have another ('2' for LAN2) router behind the local '1' with another network router (no bridge, a different IP address).

For now, I PING the IP wan router "2" of the RV042G, but the distant RV042G, I can't access the devices behind the router '2' on LAN2. The opposite is true, the LAN2 I can ping all devices on any LAN included behind the VPN LAN

On the RV042G, I put a static route to indicate that the IP address of the LAN '2' was available router WAN '2', but a traceroute always shows that I don't use the VPN and ask my gateway provider instead. The static route list does not show the road, that I put.

At this point, I'm a little lost. What can I do to tell the RV that route to ROUTER2 is via the vpn and not my provider gateway?

Thanks for any help (and sorry for my bad English)

    After reading this guide:

    http://www.Cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/TD/docs/routers/CSBR/rv0xx/administrati...

... take a look on page 110. Group "remote control" is where you would list the subnets that are accessible through the VPN. Currently this group must contain "LAN1", so you'll need to add "LAN2.

    see you soon,

    John,

There is no way to set a static route in the GBA unit. The only network settings, you can set are the ip address/subnet, default gateway and dns servers.

How can I configure static routes on router B?

I tried to do, but it does not work (see RouterB_routing.jpg)

    Can someone help me?

    Thank you.

    Krzysztof,

Unfortunately the rv016 you cannot make static through the vpn tunnel routes as it isn't an ipsec interface in the static routes section of the router.  This is normal, the router will recognize that the default setting of lan in the vpn tunnel.

You need to business routers to make the static routes through the ipsec tunnel.

  • Site to Site VPN of IOS - impossible route after VPN + NAT

    Hello

I have problems with a VPN on 2 routers access 8xx: I am trying to set up a quick and dirty VPN Site to Site with a source NAT VPN tunnel endpoint. This configuration is only intended to run from one day only inter. I managed to do the work of VPN and I traced the translations of NAT VPN tunnel endpoint, but I couldn't make these translated packages which must move outside the access router, because intended to be VPN traffic network is not directly connected to leave the router. However, I can ping the hosts directly connected to the router for access through the VPN.

Something done routing not to work, I don't think the NATing, because I tried to remove the NAT and I couldn't follow all outgoing packets that must be sent, so I suspect this feature is not included in the IOS of the range of routers Cisco 8xx.

    Hi Jürgen,

First of all, when I went through your config, I saw these lines,

    !

    interface Vlan2

    IP 192.168.1.1 255.255.255.248

    !

    !

    IP route 192.168.2.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.254

    !

With 255.255.255.248 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.1.254 subnet will fall to different subnets. So I don't think you can join 192.168.2.0/24 subnet to the local router at this point. I think you should fix that first.

Maybe have 192.168.1.2 255.255.255. 248 on the router connected (instead of 192.168.1.254)

Once this has been done. We will have to look at routing.

    You are 172.31.0.2-> 192.168.1.11 natting

Now, in order for that to work, make sure that a source addresses (192.168.1.11) NAT is outside the subnet router to router connected (if you go with 192.168.1.0/29 subnet router to router, with 192.168.1.1/29 on the local router and 192.168.1.2/29 on the connected router as suggested, it will be fine). So in this case 192.168.1.8/29 to the subnet that your NAT would be sources fall.

Have a static route on the router connected (192.168.1.2) for the network 192.168.1.8/29 pointing 192.168.1.1,

    !

    IP route 192.168.1.8 255.255.255.248 192.168.1.1

    !

If return packets will be correctly routed toward our local router.

If you have an interface on the connected rotuer which includes the NAT would be source address range, let's say 192.168.1.254/24, even if you do your packages reach somehow 192.168.2.0/24, the package return never goes to the local router (192.168.1.1) because the connected router sees it as a connected subnet, so it will only expire

I hope I understood your scenario. Pleae make changes and let me know how you went with it.

Also, please don't forget to rate this post so useful.

  • ASA does not propagate any routes for VPN users

    Good afternoon

I m a problem concerning the spread of the roads to authenticated VPN users through the asa tunnel-group.

I have a VPN-users-pool where my users receive their IP address, and after authentication and the tunnel is established the idea is that the user get to the networks defined in the following ACL:

    access-list within the standard allow 10.1.0.0 255.255.0.0

    access-list within the standard allow 192.168.15.0 255.255.224.0

Now, the problem is that, after the tunnel is set up the only way, that the user receives is the default route (which is not supposed to be sent). The user does not receive the roads specified in the ACL list above. It has not received the network mask and assumes one 8 netmask (given that the pool of network from where it receives the IP address is a class A network).

Network routing works as expected (when I add the static routes directly to PC users, everything works OK). It s just the matter of the ASA do not spread the roads as it should.

    Best regards

    Just a question, I see:

    It looks like your policy

DefaultRAGroup_1 you set ACLs and the other doesn't seem to be for L2TP/IPSEC. How do you connect to the ASA, using L2TP/IPSEC or Cisco IPSEC client? In addition, if your users are devoted to this group policy:

DefaultRAGroup_1 it looks like the acl is missing for the split tunneling

  • Dynamic routing for VPN Failover L2L

    Hello

Can someone offer me some advice on this please?

I have attached a simple diagram of our EXTENSIVE referral network.

    Overview

    • The firewall is ASA 5510 running 8.4 (9)
    • Basic to the Headquarters network uses OSPF
    • On ASA static routes are redistributed into OSPF
    • On ASA for VPN static routes are redistributed into OSPF with 130 metric so redistributed BGP routes are preferred
    • Basic network has a static route to 10.0.0.0/8 to Corporate WAN, which is redistributed into OSPF
    • Branch Office WAN uses BGP - routes are redistributed into OSPF
    • The branch routers using VRRP for redundancy of the IP for the default gateway of local customers.
    • Branch router main past off VRRP IP to router backup when the WAN interface is down
    • BO backup router (. 253) contains only a default route to the internet
    • In normal operation, the traffic to and from BO uses Local Branch Office WAN
    • If local BO WAN link fails, traffic to and from the BO uses IPSec VPN via public Internet

I try to configure dynamic routing on our network for when a branch switches to the IPsec VPN. What I want to happen (not sure if it is possible) is for the ASA announce the subnet to the remote end of the VPN in OSPF to Headquarters.

I managed to get this working using IPP, but for some reason any VPN stay up all the time when we are not in a failover scenario. This causes the ASA added the table as a static route is the remote subnet in it and do not use the announced route of OSPF from the core network. This prevents the BO customers access to the Internet. If I remove the IPP on the VPN setting, ASA learns the route to the subnet via the WAN BO - resumes normal operation.

I have configured the metric of the static routes that get redistributed into OSPF by ASA superior to 110. This is so that the routes redistributed by the WAN BO OSPF BGP, are preferred. The idea being that when the WAN link is again available, the routing changes automatically and the site fails to WAN BO.

I guess what I need to know is; This design is feasible, and if so where I'm going wrong?

    Thank you

    Paul

    Hi Paul,.

your ASA maintains the tunnel alive only because this path exists on ASA.  This is why you must use IP - SLA on ASA to push network taffic "10.10.10.0/24" based on the echo response, using the ALS-intellectual property

Please look at the example below, in the example below shows that the traffic flows through the tunnel, only if the ASA cannot reach the 10.10.10.0/24 network via the internal network of HQ.

    This configuration illuminate ASA.

    Route inside 10.10.10.0 255.255.2550 10.0.0.2 track 10

(assuming 10.0.0.2 ip peering from inside the ip address of the router to HO)

    Route outside 10.10.10.0 255.255.255.0 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 254

(value of 254 is a more expensive route to go via IPSec tunnel and x = the bridge by default-ISP)

    ALS 99 monitor

type echo protocol ipIcmpEcho 10.10.10.254 inside interface

    NUM-package of 3

    frequency 10

Annex monitor SLA 99 life never start-time now

    track 10 rtr 99 accessibility

Let me know, if this can help.

    Thank you

    Rizwan James
