• WMM6 do not play any video file

  I'm trying to burn a DVD with a slideshow of 11 minutes and 5 title slides.  The original slideshow is a .mov format.  FormatFactory ver3 to convert to wmv.  When the 11 min wmv file is imported into Windows Movie Maker 6, only 50 seconds to play.  The timer/counter shows he is still streaming, but the Visual remains frozen and the audio stops.  This is true even for a dvd burned from the file.  The burned DVD will load and play, but video and audio that freeze the counter continues.  The wmv file plays completely using windows media player, but I need to burn DVDs for this file.   Please read this message before doing anything.

  This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don't be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.

  Step 1

  The goal of this step is to determine if the problem is localized to your user account.

  Select the feedback connections* and log in as a guest. Do not use the Safari connection only 'user comments' created by 'find my Mac '.

  While signed in as a guest, you will have access to your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you use them for the first time. Do not be alarmed by this behavior; It's normal. If you need any password or other personal information in order to complete the test, save, print, or write them before you start.

  Test while signed in as a guest. Same problem?

  After testing, log on to the guest account and in your own account, disable it if you wish. The files that you created in the guest account will be automatically deleted when you log out of it.

  * Note: If you have enabled 'find my Mac' or FileVault, then you cannot activate the guest account. The login 'User comments' created by 'Find my Mac' is not the same. Create a new account to test and delete it, including his home folder, after testing.

  I have my Xbox connected to my Win 7 machine extender.

  For some reason any Xbox can't play all files on the media center extender - only images. Music files, but remains at 0:00. Neither TV or recorded TV works. He simply says there are problems of codec and I have to restart the Media center or PC. It does not help.

  What security software do you use? (Antivirus, firewall, etc.).
  Where's the media? Is it on a local, external, or network location?

  If the problem is new, you can try a system restore: System Restore: frequently asked questions

  If the files are on an external drive, or a network location, try to copy one of the files to the appropriate windows library (music or video) and check if you can play the file on the Extender.

  Also, try to delete the folder location of the library Windows and one location in Media Center. After having been removed, close Media Center and re-add-the then test once more.
