  I just opened a 'repair ticket' by the Acer customer on my problem.

  I don't know what to do, cause, we cannot remove the battery and put it back...

  The unit is not getting on at all, even in recovery mode, nothing happens at all... (Press Power button and hold, long press Power + Volume down... I almost tried everything)

  I read that this is called the syndrome of sudden death (SDS) of Samsung products.

  Everyone experiences not / solved the same problem?

  Or have any idea of what I might try?

  OK some news from the phone!

  I received it a few days in the repair shop, and it works!

  In the meantime, I read other users had the same syndromes... don't know why.

  Solution was simply to put a new motherboard and reinstall android (done Acer). I could restore a backup and everything works fine now.

  Hopefully this won't happen again!

• Satellite A300 - overheating and sudden death

  Hey there! So the problem with the sudden closing of my laptop has bothered me for the last 6 months. I did not understand why it happened. But now, I think I can.

  As soon as I start watching movies or high quality youtube and if I do this as 20 minutes, the laptop can crush! Only, it gets really hot, and there is nothing I can do about it. However, if I put a fan beside her, she will continue to work normally. Otherwise > overheat and BOOM! : D

  Brand new Tablet convertible, upgraded to Windows 10 without a hitch.  Was happy with its performance, but this morning I took it to work with me (I use it for work as well to the list of customers using a calendar) and only nothing when I hit the power button.  I thought that it was not charged, so I took it home to get it on the charger... nothing.  Dead.  How a new Tablet may be already dead?  I don't have the packaging as it was heavy, so I threw it.  I really hope that I am not at a few hundred dollars on something that is not my fault.

  It would be useful to know which model you have.

  Sometimes a system can get stuck in the mode 'sleep', it can usually be fixed by a forced feeding cycle. Press in and hold the power 10-30 seconds, wait a little the turn on normally. Let us know if this is useful, and if not, we will try and dig deeper into the diagnosis. You should have a one year warranty if it was bought new, so no worries on that side.

  Ruling on a BIOS corrupted, removing the CMOS (exhibit) just battery resets the default settings for the BIOS, but you do not have to remove the laptop battery as well. Did you remove the two batteries?

  So, you have made the recovery and the problem persists?  This implies that the problem is hardware related as recovery brings back the laptop to a known state of work (factory conditions).  This addresses the problems of software with a 99% certainty.

  Reballing (or "recovery") is a possible solution, but it depends on the real problem.  If the problem is due to bad points, it could work to weld (where the name "reballing") but if the problem is that the card is dead then reballing the map doesn't change anything.  Some users try this as a solution to their problems. However, I can't recommend it because it's well beyond my technical abilities, I'm horrible with a soldering iron, and he is definitely not always solve the problem.  The best solution is the replacement.

  If you have the laptop repaired by a store or HP then they would replace the motherboard together.  If you feel able to do the repair you could replace it yourself.  You'll want to Guide Service and Maintenance of your laptop.  This covers disassembly and repair of the laptop.  If your laptop computer has a screen 3D part number is 630793-001.  If you have a screen 2D part number is 630792-001.

  If you have the HP to repair the laptop call them again and let them know the outcome of the recovery.  They should be able to put up with a repair.  However, I live in the US so I have no idea of the cost of the repair of facilities in Europe.  Agent from that you are talking about should be able to answer this question for you before ordering of repair.

• BSOD - black screen of death to Satellite P20 552

  I have this laptop since 2005.

  Today, after put the laptop to sleep, I picked up, and then after the system restored Windows, the screen started going black and back to normal, once again, then I noticed some artifacts on the screen, then black again, then normal, then artifacts, etc. This continued for about 2 minutes, after which I delivered to zero by pressing and holding down the power button.

  When I turned on the laptop again, I got the dreaded BSOD, black version. Symptoms:

  -Black screen (blue BSOD)
  -No logo TOSHIBA
  -No test POST
  -No visible inscription on the screen
  -No HARD drive activity (HDD seems it does not work)
  -CDROM seems to work, but cannot start with the XP CD or Bootmed Rescue CD. CD ROM glad to read the disc and then idling.

  Tried so far:

  1. with the help of the P20-552 on my Toshiba Satellite 1950 801 PSU. Works.
  2 begin the Satellite P20 552 of the battery of the device. Power supply is removed. Same results. (BSOD etc.).
  3. remove the battery and start satellite P20 552, with its own power supply. Same results. (BSOD etc.).

  It seems to me that this issue is a matter of 'sudden death' MOBO. I thought to open the laptop and remove the CMOS battery, because how Satellite P20 552 lacks a "hard reset" button

  What do you think guys? Some tips before you apply the Russian system on the laptop P20-552?

  I don t think that remove the CMOS battery would be useful in this case
  You could remove one of the memory modules and could test each module in each of the slots.
  This could be useful in case one of these modules or the slots would be defective.

  You said that there is no Toshiba start screen and no message (power on self-test) perceptible property, this means that a motherboard or a part on the motherboard could be defective, but the black screen with artifacts may be the result of a GPU malfunction.

• sudden loss of the battery?

  I'm a X201T, two year old battery 8 cells. I had certainly noticed a deterioration of the battery life, up to about 2.5 hours of active work. But suddenly the battery won't charge at all and I am informed the State of the battery is low, time to replace. Interestingly, this occurred after that the machine has passed a couple of weeks off, not used at all.

  Should it? I had assumed a gradual decline to zero, not a sudden death of the absolute. Would it be a problem in the Power Manager software, or something like?

  It is not unusual for one or more cells in a Li-ion battery to fail after a couple of years. The result is that the battery is completely dead or suddenly drops a large amount of reported load, for example going from 80% to 40% in a few seconds. This can happen if you leave the battery at 0% for an extended period of time.

  One thing to try: go in Power Manager battery information tab and click on "Battery maintenance" to try to "Recondition" the battery. If this does not work the first time you can try once or twice more. No guarantee that it will work.

• InDesign CS5 ending suddenly

  Copy a (anchored) object of CS4 CS5 and then CS5 ID ends suddenly when you try to move, delete, or modify this object.

  Also delete the page on which the content is placed, causing sudden death to ID CS5.

  I can't remove, delete or modify this object, without sudden end of ID CS5. The object is a jpg image, anchored within a CS4 file.

  Anyone who is familiar with this bug?

  I have encountered this problem after having produced a lengthy document which I can't use more without this object / on this page.

  So here now is an unwanted extra page within that should be ignored when processing further to PDF or print.

  Adobe did not have this problem, so I wonder if this will be resolved.

• 3rd generation ipod white screen

  I know it's old, but working well... so far.  White screen.  It is recognized by itunes when plugged into the computer.  Restored successfully on the itunes screen, always white.  Tried the fix with holding home and power button.  Tried to hold the House, volume and power.  Screen remains white.

  My question - is all hope gone and I must finally remove this ipod?  It's been great and it's a sudden death - hard to see it go.

  The 3rd gen iPod "classic" has a great sound.  If you tried to do a restore already, its likely to be a hardware problem, unfortunately.

  These older iPods are easier to repair because they are assembled from items separated and not so integrated and miniaturized.  My work 3rd generation iPod was reassembled broken iPods that I bought on eBay, by swapping pieces.  The screen is not the thing that is broken, most of the time.  If you are somewhat technically inclined, you can remedy.  You can post back for more information.

  I have a lenovo t500 laptop. I made a post year last on the very poor battery life and it was determined that the battery is worn. I bought a spare online, no of lenovo battery, a brand of amazon spare parts. This battery was working fine since I got it around Christmas, until last week. I had left my laptop unplugged for a few days. When I went to use it of course I had to connect the charger to start. He started and went very well, do not think anything of it. Until I went to move to the floor, so I unplugged the charger and the laptop turns off instantly. It wouldn't start upward. I plugged in the charger and it has started well. I noticed that the the battery meter on the bottom of the screen shows a thin blue bar as the level indicator and it indicates 0%. When I flew over the mouse battery gauge told us: battery life remaining 0%. Battery will begin charging when it falls below the threshold. I had the threshold of 40%, whereas when I had plugged it didn't really just 100%. I opened the power manager and reset the threshold "always load". It still does not load, it is stuck at 0%. I have reset the laptop. Pulled the battery for a while and reinstalled. I know that less expensive spare batteries are not as good as those of lenovo, but it is not supposed that he would leave just all together with no sign of weakness. I'd love help I start classes tomorrow for my last year of college and really need my laptop for work...

  Happy that you guessed it working for now. Sudden death is often a sign of a lower battery, and almost nine months is a long life. I'd go before an order a replacement now if the machine is often on the battery.
