Surround Sound Device do not appear in Windows

Hello

I have my PC running via HDMI to a Denon AV amp, out for my LG Plasma and through the eye of the TV to my 5.1 system stereo. The problem is that Windows sees only the TV speakers, so I can't set up the skin in Windows. I can't use the PC output optical directly into the stereo, because she is disabled with HDMI output. Is it possible to select optical for audio in Windows when you use HDMI for video.

I was hoping that the AV amp would be a solution, but it detects that it is connected directly on, so when I hit the "Speaker" button, it proudly displays 'TV - Stereo' and also will not output sound other than through the HDMI - in this case.

I can't just plug the stereo speakers to the amp AV or because they have taken non-standard and the rear speakers are wireless.

If anyone has any suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated

See you soon.

  • Combo DVD/CD drive does not appear in Windows Explorer or the Device Manager

The combo DVD/CD on my laptop drive isn't in Device Manager or Windows Explorer.  The door is not ejected.  You must use a paperclip, poking into the hole to open it.  I also re - it sitting, but it changed nothing.  We had this laptop for 1.5 years and the disk worked great until yesterday when trying to install Starcraft II.  Installation failed and it has messed up also the DVD/CD drive.

We read some other difficulty advice and tried the upper and lower filters in the registry, but there was no entires of upper and lower filters in the key.

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD

  • Portege R500 - error message "sound device is not supported" THotkey

    Hello

Whenever I have start up my Portege R500 I get THotkey message error "sound device is not supported. \
The same error message repeats when I touch the volume icon. There is also no sound.

Any idea what causes this? I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the driver most that can affect the shortcut key and the sound.

    Is it Vista or XP?

Have you installed Windows yourself or it was preinstalled?

Maybe the wrong driver was installed (of another model for example).

  • SD-R2312 device does not appear in the hardware Manager

I have several problems with my Toshiba SD-R2312 Windows XP. Cannot open CD, device does not appear in the hardware Manager, drive is not displayed anywhere.

First time it happened, I was able to reactivate it as described here.
    http://www.TechSpot.com/VB/all/Windows/t-28912-desperation-Toshiba-DVDROM-malfunction-possible-missing-driver.html

After working for a few weeks, the drive is 'gone' once again, same symptoms as the first time.
Try the registry fix again, I found that there are still "UpperFilters" (which I've deleted again), but not Lowerfilters.
However, which did not help this time.

I have no "unknown" devices that I could delete (see http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=6548&messageID=22638).

Does anyone have an idea how to get the drive working again? Is there a way to prevent that from happening again?

    Thanks in advance.

  • How can I get my device (WD Passport) appears in Windows 7?

I have a 1 TB WD Passport to transfer files from Linux (Ubuntu) to Windows 7. For some reason, the drive appears in Ubuntu and Mac computers but does not appear in Windows, the file system is NTFS (yet ironically works only in Unix-based operating systems) and I can't reformat the drive without losing the data on the USB. I also checked the disk management and it does not appear there either. I tried other USB keys and they are automatically detected, as they should be to prove that it is not a problem with the USB port. The light unit of 1 TB and I can hear it turn but nothing is displayed under computers.

Any suggestions? Otherwise, I'll have to transfer 8 GB at a time to my other USB stick from mac to windows that is simply delayed.

    Thanks for any advice.

    2. To open Device Manager, type devmgmt.msc in the box Start Search and press enter.
    3. Check if the hard drive is listed.
    4. In Device Manager, expand the hard drive listed in the list of devices.
    5. If the hard disk is listed, right click top > click Properties.
    6. In general, under control of device for the message status. After back if there is no error message.

    Method 3:

You can also try to change the drive letter using the command line and check if you are able to use the external hard drive after that.

Assign, change, or remove a drive letter
