HI - hope someone can help.   I had two months of good operation and syncing with my computer HP laptop and BB 8330 Curve, everything was fine until I had to send the laptop hinge repair... Then loaded the installation disc and connected the BB via USB, it sees it but asks me a password.  I put in the PW does it work to unlock the BB , but it does not recognize.  What should I do - I tried 6 times and you want to wipe the device!

  • Updates to blackBerry Smartphones Desktop Mgr.

Yes, it is because it needs to know which phone requires the update so you can connect several models (not at the same time) for the DTM.

  • BlackBerry smartphones cannot zoom in or out with BB9700 camera

I used to zoom in and out when you take pictures, but now I can't. As soon as I turn on the camera, the sign (+) and (-) symbols appear, then (-) symbol disappears immediately. Trackball is working correctly, but does not not with the camera. Pls someone help me to fix it. Thank you

Whenever this kind of strange things happen the first thing to do is a battery... pull the phone turned on, remove the battery, wait 10 seconds, then put the battery back in and wait for the phone to go through the startup process. Things should operate normally after that.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones can not access Media card with BB Desktop or Media Sync 9700

The other day I received a Reburbed Bold 9700 update.

I use Ver 6 Deskstop OS and the 9700 is running device code latest version 5.

I have a Kingston 4 GB media card that I know is in place because the 9700 recognizes it and when I go to files and select the media card, I can see all the files on the card and when I take a picture it is written on the card so I know that memory is very good and he sees the 9700.

The problem I have is BB Deskstop or latest version of Media Sync to see so I can transfer files to and from my PC and the media card.

The error message that I receive on the two applications, it's that I have to turn on mass storage Mode.  When I look at my memory settings:

    Compression - enabled

Map of media Support - on

Mass Storage Mode Support - on

Auto enable mass storage Mode when connected - Yes

I formatted the card successfully on the BB.

I tried another card memory (2 GB) and also properly formatted as well.

I also tried another USB cable into another USB port.

I had a BB hard reset by pulling on the battery... several times.

I had another before Blackberrys and have never had a problem of access to the media card.  I would have thought that it is easier on the 9700.

I did search endlessly on the Web and saw other people with similar problems but many were so simple that the card is not seated properly and it also had the symptom that the BB is not recognizing the media card.  My BB recognize media cards and use them, but I can't access the card through my PC.  I understand that I may not see a pendrive pop up in Windows Explorer, but I can't understand why the BB Desktop or Media Sync cannot access.

I know that both of these applications communicate to the BB cause I get requests for passwords and the desktop, I can view all my applications and I used to update the device until the last OS level during the troubleshooting process.

I just wanted to see if anyone has experience this problem and has tips, if not I will contact AT & T or go into a local store to see if they can help.  I just think I'm missing something that I can take care off instead of my own.

    Thank you!

    Hello

Have you tried to connect the device on another computer?  If another computer to recognize the device, it may just be a case of bad USB drivers on your computer.

Here are some KB articles that may be able to help:

KB19717 - BlackBerry smartphone is not detected as a USB mass storage device when connected to a computer

KB10312 - impossible to display the map of support using the BlackBerry smartphone

You also need to remove the USB ports on your computer (using Device Manager), and then restart the computer to reload the correct drivers.

An alternative to this is to simply use a microSD card reader which allows you to use the microSD as a flash drive.

I hope that this info is another starting point for you!

  • Connection USB blackBerry Smartphone problems

I have a BlackBerry Curve 8330 m running the latest OS updates.

Recently, my BlackBerry has stopped synchronizing via USB.  My computer is a Windows XP with Desktop Manager v.4.7.  I never had problems with synchronization previously.  Another Member of the family has a BlackBerry Curve as well, and them connects and syncs perfectly.  Thus, this addresses the problems with the USB cable and the computer itself.

When my BlackBerry is connected, the indicator is on, but my XP does not recognize that have plugged in at all.  In the Windows Device Manager, it is said that there is no active USB connection.

    Suggestions, please?

I tried all the stuff into the Knowledge Base of BlackBerry.  I also tried syncing my BlackBerry to the computer of a friend who use Desktop Manager and gave the same frustrating results.

After several hours of anguish, I decided to do a clean wipe of my phone... success!  Obviously, a file has been corrupted that was vital to the process of USB connection.   Fortunately, I made a backup last week, so I do not lose too much data.

  • Subfolders and Inbox Sync to blackBerry Smartphones

My mail detaches a Microsoft Exchange Server. In Outlook, I have subfolders in my Inbox. When I sync or reconcilliate only these subfolders that I slipped and fell in the messages (and only those who, after the initial synchronization) are visible. Subfolders containing a rule created in outlook for messages to go directly to those who do not display messages; However, I can see all the subfolders. I'd love to synchronize all messages for all the sub folders and be able to view them. FYI, I have the default setting of 30 days on the phone and all the messages in Outlook are only 3 weeks.

Hello and welcome to the community!

I'll guess that you're on Blackberry Enterprise Service (as opposed to OWA via BIS). You may need to work with your BES admins for all this:

    • KB04297 How to configure the folder redirection to receive e-mail messages sent to folders other than the Inbox

But I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for. If you want to show on your BB, messages in these folders that existed already at the time wherever your BB was originally set on BES, who is not quite possible. Some may be able to be made available on your BB, but BB are not only designed as complete a replica of the mailbox... rather, they are designed to help work with the new emails. For some older posts, have your BES admins investigate it thus:

    • KB13292 Not all e-mail messages are received on the BlackBerry smartphone after the enterprise activation process

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Desktop Software 5 on Win 7 - not Outlook synchronization

    Hello

had to reinstall my laptop and went to Win7. Installation went well and most of s/w works. So far so good. Installed BB Desktop Software 5.0.1 and got the error message during installation (as shown in the photo).

DS starts up normally and detects my BB 8800. The only function that does not work is the synchronization with Outlook 2007. In the config box it does not offer the ability to sync with Outlook.  Is the error and it related? What should I do to fix this? DS already removed and installed again. No change. Outlook works fine and the installation is completed without any error message.

    Thx for the help.

    Hello

THX, it worked.  Repair fixed the issue in Outlook. If the problem is a problem of MS Outlook and is not a problem of DS.

  • USB blackBerry smartphones new power cord

After having BlackBerry models earlier that all use the same type of connecting the power supply, torch uses what I guess is called a micro USB connection in the device rather than the mini USB, so none of these old cards AC work (* beep *...).  The black square wall wart new torch is similar to the white AC to USB connector used by my iPhone.

The question is: since I was a little of those Apple brand, as well as third-party AC-PIN-to-USB slot loaders, everyone can use to fuel the flame?  If I want to buy just a micro USB cable additional to tote around in My Briefcase, can I use this cable with the AC - USB charger of third party that I travel with to supply the torch safely, or SHOULD I use the official BlackBerry issued components? (which no doubt, they would like to buy...)

Any USB adapter will work. I have a traveling with, with 2 USB ports. I use it for iPod, BBerry, camera, whatever. I wear the adapter and cable for each device - there are now so many variations of the "micro USB" connector to make your head spin. Advantage of having separate cables is that you can use your laptop as a charger (expensive) as well.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones The RED Light of DOOM with a difference

My poor BB is just 3 days and 2 nights of old... when during a call, he decided to turn in anything more than paper weight wth a flashing of the RED LED.  According to a rule of the forum, I went through all that is here... I need to connect to the USB and update... ok... but

My Win 7 does not detect that fire Phone. The just continues to blink. The phone is not detected by the mgr of desktp as well. Batt in and out... already tried... Help... SOS SOS SOS... May Day May Day, May Day.

If your BlackBerry is still under tension turned off with a black screen, follow the instructions below. The only indication of life may be the flashing red indicator light in the upper corner. Nothing seems to wake and Desktop Manager does not recognize that a device is connected.

    (1) make sure that you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.
    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/services/desktop/
    (2) on your PC, go to start > run and copy and paste the following line exactly (i.e. with quotation marks):

    'c:\program files\common research in motion\apploader\loader.exe' /nojvm

    (3) the Application Loader Wizard will appear - click on "next".
    (4) in the ' connection: ' drop-down menu, you should see "USB - PIN: UNKNOWN". Click on the button "next".
    (5) you should see a list of applications ready to be installed for your Blackberry. Press Next and finish, and that you are well on your way to get your Blackberry to life. Congratulations! Just unplug and let the process finish completely.

NOTE: If you do not display the list of applications mentioned in step 5 and instead to see the message "the Blackberry Desktop Software has no Blackberry Device Software for the device you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator', then you must download the Blackberry operating system for your support and your device.
    http://www.BlackBerryFAQ.com/index.php/BlackBerry_Operating_System_Downloads
Just select the appropriate type of carrier and network, select your Blackberry model from the list and download the latest version. Install this download and follow the steps above again and you should be on the right track.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones that someone has similar problems with OS.167?

    Good evening everyone,

I have a 9530 on Verizon with BES.  I was much happier with OS.148 sur.75, but I got a big problem

with the memory leak fast sur.148.  Sometimes to zero in 4 or 5 hours.  I upgraded a.151 and was very happy,

except for a nagging in Pandora and slacker problem that caused them to stop playing after an hour or

a soft reboot, making it necessary to continue listening.

So I'm greedy and downloaded OS.167 for the 9530, his most recent, so it MUST be better, right?

Well, maybe not.  There are many things to like en.167, but I saw some problems.  Memory

leak is back, Pandora and Slacker are better, but there are still minor issues.  Big boy

problem is my BES is now disabled and I can't use my password to reactivate.  I've heard of

BES similar questions.  Someone at - it similar problems?  If so, did find you a quick solution?

I have the feeling that I will be downgrading in the morning return a.151, because I did a full upgrade before

backup I hope I won't get in trouble.  After the downgrade, I'll try to reactivate

My BES email with my fingers crossed.  If I still have problems, I have to call and probably get

cried in to play with the leaked OS.  (But I must have the latest and best).

I appreciate any advice you might have.

Other that this little glitch, I love the shot of storm.

    Cordially Cdskidso

Krypto thanks for your advice.  Because of the memory leak, I thought all day I téléchargerais just a.151 back.  A funny thing happened on the way to the 'nuclear option '.  I had tried several times to conduct business with my password activation COMPUTER provided OTA.  I kept getting an error message telling me to contact the system administrator.  When I plugged my Blackberry to my USB cable so I could downgrade to OS.151 via BlackBerry Desktop Manager, my storm started supplementing the business list Activation line.  After about 10 minutes, I enabled and a test e-mail sent from my home computer was soon received on my Blackberry.  I know that this Enterprise Activation process is complete when I first upgraded over the weekend via USB/BlackBerry Desktop Manager, but apparently he "did not" and as it was the long holiday weekend, I have not had any indication that my company was not enabled.  I don't think to check my status on my Storm, so now I know for next time.  I hope that my problems can help others who may have similar questions.  So far, so good with OS.167 with the only big question is much faster flight memory than OS.151.  A minor annoyance QuickPull to resolve one or two times a day.  On that note, I see that a soft reboot rises a little more fast que.151 and certainly more fast que.148

  • BlackBerry smartphones I want my BBM back! BBM contacts switched between two phones I own, my wife and me

Hey, my wife's friends are nice, but I can't be in their discussions... I have 2 bb Torch 9800. For no apparent reason about 3 months ago the bbm contacts exchanged between them without any reason. I've been in contact with my phone provider, and they are perplexed and said that it is a problem of bb... How can I get the bbm is switched back to good phones?

I tried to remove and reinstall applications, same old contacts...

Note: I share the same e-mail address on both phones, this could be and question? When I got the phones of MTS, a few years ago, they said it was very good and quite work very well to the top until there are a couple / few months.

Hello and welcome to the community!

Sharing the same e-mail address is no problem... e-mail systems is generally accessed from multiple customers, and the application of enamel on the BB is just another type of e-mail client.

But, if you meant that you share the same BBID on both devices, then it indeed is probably the cause of the problem. It is inadvisable to associate a BBID to more than a SmartPhone BB. Strange things can happen, including the tangle of BBM contacts, as has happened to you.

Since BBM7, BBM contacts are not stored on the device itself... on the contrary, they are stored "in the cloud" with the BBID. Before BBM7 (indeed, "a couple of years"), the BBM contacts were stored on the device itself and therefore would not mingle if a BBID has been shared between several BB devices.

Here's what you need to do:

    1. Decide which of the two devices will retain the existing BBID
    2. Manually clean the BBM contacts to reflect only what desires this device
    3. On the other BB, you need to prepare by making a full backup of the device, because the "fix" will wipe
      • See the link in my sig auto on this post for instructions to complete backup
    4. Once you have this backup, you should separate this another BB the BBID existing and create a new brand for the single device
      • KB26694 How to change the BlackBerry ID on a BlackBerry smartphone or BlackBerry PlayBook Tablet
    5. Once this is done, you can switch to manually re-create all BBM contacts on the 2nd device (no, there is no way to automate this process for you)

    Good luck!
