T420 - AC/DC charging connection possible?

Hello world!

Since last week, I got a new T420 and I really like it. At the moment I am trying to configure my energy Manager and I am looking for an option, I know that Dell Latidue laptops.

When I work at home I'm still connected to the AC adapter to achieve maximum performance. I have always try to charge my battery if it is almost empty or at least less than 15%. I don't need my battery charged if there are 90% left. I try to make my battery live as long as possible and, to this end, I prefer a minimum number of fees. I know that there are no memory with Li - ion effect, but out of my experience with portable btteries better noting useless.

I am looking for an option that says something like "If relie connected to the external power supply, the battery only if it is under # %".

Is something like that possible with a Lenovo Thinkpad?

Thanks for your help in advance!

POTA

In the powermanager click on the stack, then the "battery maintenance" tab - button.
Marks "Custimized" and set the level, when the battery needs to be recharged.
After 'OK', shut down the laptop and turn ("Restart the computer" is not enough - load levels are written in the battery to stop!)

    Hi support them

Is it possible to access the use of memory and processing power charge connect 6224 via SNMP? If possible, should the mib I use?

    Thanks in advance

    Rogerio

When looking through the available MIB found in the zip file for download of the latest firmware.  I see that the MIB fastpathswitching mentions 'agentSwitchCpuProcessGroup '.

    MIB fastpathlogging has 'agentLogInMemoryConfigGroup '.

There is no reference document material about what offer different MIB.

    I hope this helps.

  • Seeing orange blinking after that stop with the charger connected.

    Hello

I'm new here and I have the following problem.

Four months after buying the PC (Satellite-Z930-103) I had a battery problem. Suddenly the orange led blinking and the laptop could not be launched. Toshiba service replaced the battery and everything worked fine for about two months. Then the same thing happened again. Because I was working in China, I opened the laptop and disconnected the battery and can be used with the charger connected.

The PC was sent to a point of service when I arrived at home, where they still indicated a battery problem and offered to change the battery. Because the warranty was expired, I had to pay for it. I refused, because the price they were charging was 300 euros.

To the surprise... when I received it from the point of service, they have reconnected the battery and the service report said "computer does work well, no fault found '...

Since I started my fight with Toshiba support and tried to find me a solution. However, the problem was not resolved until today and I have to disconnect the battery and plug it in again after waiting a day every time I forgot to unplug the charger when the shutdown or when he goes into sleepmode) I became an expert at opening and closing of the laptop...

In any case, maybe someone has the same problem and found a solution, I suppose that it may be a software problem, but Toshiba has not solved until today.

To describe the problem even once:

Orange (power) led starts flashing as soon as the computer is powered down (or "standby mode") with the charger connected.
If this happens, I opened the laptop and disconnect the battery (so I can work with feeder pugged in)
Then the next day I open the laptop again and re-connect the battery. It works fine until I still forget to unpug the charger, turn off or restart the laptop.

I'm guessing it's a problem of software and a few simple arrangements or a re-installation of something, it can be solved.

Because I travel a lot, I love the little thing but I got frustrated at the moment.

It would be great if I'm right, and someone already had this thing resolved!
    THX advance for any help!

    Peter

Satellite Z930 is very nice machine designed for mobile use and I am really sorry to hear that you have such problems. I imagine that you can't find some identical threads on this forum so I hope this isn't a "general problem" with this machine.

I am not a technician but I can't imagine this problem described has something to do with the settings of the software. In the BIOS, you cannot change a large part and in windows, there is a standard Windows power settings and several Toshiba avancΘs.
Electronic power placed in the motherboard has a few 'standard' functions and switch automatically between battery and power running.

I can't say for sure, but I guess there must be some problem with electronic power supply. It is not easy to say what the problem is here, and I really wonder that Toshiba service provider was not able to identify the reason why all this is happening.

Let's see what the other members of the forum think problem described.

  • The Tecra S3 M780 / Intel 2200bg / Win XP SP2 without WPA connection possible

I tried for months now to get my laptop to connect to a network secured with WPA - PSK wireless. I couldn't make it work at home, but I blamed the router. There is no problem connecting without warranty from WEP.

At work there is now a new wireless network. Once again, no connection possible. I tried now 4 different access points, but it does not connect with the WPA. Still, first step of the link seems possible (he sees the router and asks for the password, then the router responds), but the laptop does nog acquire a network address and will try until its cancellation. Other laptops have no problems with these 4 a / p

I updated all the drivers, deleted all and installed the wireless drivers. All tried, but now I give up. It will not connect. I think it might be a problem with the generation of WLAN (Intel 2200bg) modem, but how can I be sure?

The laptop is still under warranty, so I could have it checked by Toshiba, but I work independent and need my computer every day. Please help me. Thank you!

    Hello

Just a quick comment: I use the M70 Satellite with the same card WLAN. Last week I installed the latest driver WLAN of the Toshiba download page. I also installed Intel PROSet, but I use Windows WLAN configuration.

If you want to disable Intel PROSet and just use Windows WLAN configuration press F10 and confirm with YES. You can use WPA encryption, but be sure that you set WPA - PSK (no server) option and choose between two Techniques of encryption (TKIP or AES). On my router default is TKIP. The same settings that you can find in the WLAN Properties on the wireless networks tab.

If you want to use zero (recovery CD), you can reinstall Windows XP Home edition only.

  • no connection possible outgoing openvpn

Recently, I replaced an old router with a time capsule Airport (version 7.7.3) (and in another room with an airport express).

Since this installation, I am not able to connect to openVPN in the work of the office. There is no problem if I use my old wifi or my IPhone as a personal hotspot.

When you try to use openvpn I'm always connected to the time capsule Airport (in which case it's interesting)

Research on 'internet' gives no useful result of which could be underway, so any help is appreciated.

I forgot to mention (quite probably important):

-It connects to the VPN that is identical to the work situation

-I can ping the virtual private network addresses

-No other "traffic" as possible (ssh, http, https, etc.). Symptom is that it blocks just forever (ssh) or charges for always (web page).

Such things can sometimes be an MTU problem. See https://groups.google.com/forum/#! topic/tunnelblick-discuss/ttvriICTZV0.

Another possibility is a DNS problem. The value Tunnelblick (one) route by the VPN and (B) check if IP address of changes (both are in the window "Details of VPN" Tunnelblick 3.6beta20). Wait at least 90 seconds after the connection, and then look in the Tunnelblick journal for a message on the IP address change. (The change of IP address tries to contact tunnelblick.net through its name, and if that fails, by its IP address, so it may help in diagnosing the problems of routing DNS issues).

  • Battery won't charge, connected, shows not supported

My mom decided to give me a laptop she bought a little over a year she used once maybe. I don't think that the computer has been for more than a year. When it connect and turn on everything was fine except for the computer is slow. It seems to go faster now, maybe he had to warm up I guess. in any case, I encountered a problem where the BATTERY IS.  When I hover over the battery icon I see "0% available (plugged in, does not support)." If I unplug the charger, the battery dies immediately. So is it possible to fix this or do I just a new battery?

    Thank you

    Nick

    Hello Nick,

    Thanks for the reply.

I'm sorry for the late reply.

I appreciate your efforts to resolve the issue.

It seems that the problem is with the battery.

  • Laptop has 'charge battery' led flashing with charger connected, but does not turn

I am with the following problem:

    (1) my laptop won't turn. Even when it is connected to the charger. I tested 3 different Chargers work.

    (2) sometimes the light which indicates "charger plugged" does not illuminate. And when it turns on, the "battery charge" stops flashing. In this case, when I try to power on my laptop, it starts to launch upward, but in a few seconds, he turned down.

    It's a DV4-2160us.

What could happen and what could I do?

I have the same problem, I have a solution , however: the order of output power: first plug in the socket and then into the laptop, works fine for me if I have no batery, if I, it dose n t of material order, it could be useful

  • Satellite M60 with Intel PRO Wireless 2200BG - no stable connection possible

Hi, it is not possible to obtain a good connection with the Intel card and the latest driver from the homepage of Intel, even with all the other drivers, it is not possible. The Forums are filled with problems connecting with this card! I need a solution. Game online (World of Warcraft) is not possible because the ping (Laency) is 5000ms, and server kicks all the time, with other laptops without problems.

    Why!
When I turn off energy-driver settings, it gets easier, but still terrible connection. Intel or Toshiba do something! Tried already weeks solve this problem with all the possible drivers and settings in Windows XP SP2.
Other users of the Intel card have the same problems.

    Hello, Robert

You are absolutely right on this Intel WLAN card. I checked some books forum and many other users have similar problems with different laptops (different producers but the same map).

I noticed that this card make a trouble with different routers. A friend of mine has Satellite M40 with the same card and has no problem with the Netgear router, but with my Belkin one drops the connection permanently. We did the test with US Robotics router and the connection was not good enough.

Unfortunately, there is nothing to see. The only solution is to swap the WLAN card and built the other one (Agere or Toshiba one).

    Good luck!

  • T420 unable to charge battery

    Hello

    A month ago I received a brand new model T420 4180F65 with a battery 9 70 ++ (45N1007).

Yesterday I was no longer able to charge the battery which now remains at 0%, and I can use the thinkpad with the AC adapter is plugged in.

The battery has only 37 cycles. The application of battery lenovo in windows 7 indicates the battery has an error and can not load, so I am also unable to try to perform a reset of the battery.

I've seen similar problems here, which was resolved with an update of the firmware of the battery, but there for this model of battery. I am so unhappy that the battery for some reason any already dead? Or maybe this battery also this firmware error?

    / Keis

For a hardware problem, you must call the hotline.
I am guessing, but it seems that the battery is defective.

  • NSLU2 - no ip address, no connection possible

    Hello

I got flashed unslung 6.10 on my NSLU2. After unslinging this thing to make it possible to boot from the HARD drive and install more packages, it order get an ip address. After you remove the disc and try also to reformat in Ubuntu (vmware) the NSLU2 still does not have an ip address. It is not the router, already checked that.

It is not quite possible to get in update mode. (sidenote: I've never been able to get a light red one green and orange). But the mode to upgrade into the reset button does not work.

The led is agree, Green = ready/status and ethernet = green too.

How to restore the NSLU2 at least get an IP address? Or am I doomed and need to fix it with a JTAG? (Hope not)...

    Thanks in advance,

    Joop

Try to connect the player to a computer with an Ethernet cable. Set a static IP address on the computer (192.168.1.x). Then try to ping the default IP of the NSLU2. Once you get an answer. You may access the web interface.

  • CC without internet connection possible?

Alrighty, so it's a little tricky.  I supervise teams right now both are always on CS4. I got initial positive feedback to lead the effort to buy Creative Cloud to teams.  However, there is a MAJOR issue that would prevent us to do so, in turn ask to get an overview on possible solutions.

Many people use machines that are severely locked, high security, NO outside internet access is allowed, no connections to external devices, etc. In short, these machines are used as part of our deployment process of development (for more than just Web sites) and the only machines that can be used to deploy the code. Details aside, there is virtually no chance to open these machines for internet connectivity.

If we want to update these machines of CS4 to CC, is there a way to install without internet connection (like downloading of executable files and deploy via intranet)? Adobe has a solution around the Internet "necessary"?

At the present time, it is a contract of minimum 5 years we'll have to ramp for in the coming months and personally using CC, I see the benefits of pushing our teams him to be used for virtually all (web, graphic design, video editing) in the House.
