T61 gel when running on battery - no problem when it is plugged

Got a new T61 2 weeks: 6459-CTO, Vista 32, T9300 2.5 GHz, 4 GB of RAM, Intel Turbo Memory. Everything is fine except the following problem: when running on battery only (not connected) the system hangs intermittently, programs stop responding, ctrl alt del does not work, only solution is a hard closed down. Lenovo sent me a replacement battery but same problem persists. Very annoying! System has never frozen when connected to the AC. All PC Doctor diagnostics OK. Insatalled latest drivers etc. Is update system, including Windows update. I have read that some versions of Intel Turbo Memory has had this problem when running on battery alone, but apparently this has been corrected with the later driver versions of Inter Turbo Memory - I later. Any help would be appreciated.  No problem other than that - I can't use the laptop on battery with confidence.

All is well so far - no freeze no more! Now I can use my laptop because it was intended to be used - in battery mode - in the yard!  I wonder when Lenovo makes available this driver for their production. This problem of gel certainly did me a lot of grief.

  • Keyboard causes Vista hang on startup/gel when it is plugged

So I seem to have a rather unusual problem.

When I boot vista and my Wired USB keyboard Logitech is plugged, Vista hangs at a black screen after that bar loading screen and my optical USB Wired mouse green turns off (in safe mode it seems to hang crcdisk.sys).  If I don't have my wired keyboard but I have not my wired mouse Vista starts fine but when I try to plug in the keyboard Vista crashes and I can't move the cursor.  It doesn't seem to be a work autour: if I leave the mouse and the keyboard unplugged and plug them in to at about the same time after that Vista starts, both work very well.  In fact, I can unplug the keyboard and reconnect it back with no problem.

I recently bought a new hard drive and had to install Vista on it.  This problem appeared to occur at the time, I installed SP1 and persisted in my current state to SP2.

I tried to update the drivers while the keyboard works by both windows as well as search download driver of Logitech Web site.  I do not have another keyboard I could try, but it worked well before re-installing my Vista and works fine on my laptop (which is running XP).

    Any ideas?

Of course, looks like it's maybe the keyboard if the drivers are up-to-date.

  • Touchpad problem - running on battery power, does not work when it is connected.

Laptop Toshiba with Vista. The Synaptics touch pad battery power works fine. When it is plugged in, it freezes.  Disconnect the power supply and back to the battery and everything is fine.  That's happened?  How can I get the touchpad to work in both modes of power?

I played with power options, and there is nothing specific to the touchpad.  Setting the power of USB has no effect either. This laptop (Toshiba A505 series) is up-to-date with all service packs, etc.

    Hi mravitz,

You need to maybe uninstall and reinstall the Synaptics drivers installed on the system.

Uninstall and reinstall the Synaptics drivers.

    a. Click Start, point to settings and then click Control Panel.

    b. double-click system click on hardware and then click Device Manager.

    c. expand the device, and then double-click the Synaptics driver.

    d. click on the driver tab and click on uninstall

    e. restart the computer and check

  • Satellite A100: sharp wail high when running on battery

    Hello world

my laptop is 24 hours old and yet I get this sharp wail from left hand side near the exit of the fan. I don't hear it at all when running on the main, only on battery power. No idea what it is and why this happens?
Also, is it "normal"? I would not have thought so!

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Adam

I think there is no reason to panic. I think I know what mean you, but if I'm wrong please let me know.

This noise is probably due to FL inverter. If the laptop is connected to the AC adapter, try to change the brightness level by using the FN + F6 key combination and tell me if this noise occurs after doing this. Change the brightness level, the voltage will be reduced at low level and the result is this noise.

When you use laptops with laptop battery power will run automatically on the other profile saver (NORMAL) power and this power profile monitor, brightness is set at the lower level. When the laptop is running on battery use FN + F7 and upgrade the most high and this noise will disappear. Am I wrong?

This is visible on each laptop model, and it is normal.

  • (Portable) Windows stops when I unplug - but can run on battery

Hi, when I use my computer laptop plulgged in and unplug the camera to use it somewhere else, it often (but not always) stops.  When I reboot, the icon shows enough power in the battery, and I can use it disconnected for a long period of time.  He also stopped once when I moved it so it was plugged (and do not unplug).  But this has happened only once, and I move my computer (when it is plugged in) a little bit.

What can be wrong?  A guy at a computer shop said that I probably need a new battery or the ends of connecting the battery is worn out and does not connect.  In need of a new battery life seems unlikely given that I can use disconnected after that I restart it.  Your suggestion would be appreciated. Thank you!

  • Portege R500 is not running on battery power - flashing orange indicator

I have a Porterge R500 with Windows Vista to my work.

I was going on a trip, so I bought an extra battery.
Before the plane everything worked fine. Both batteries worked and they were fully charged.

After I entered the plane, out of the blue, the laptop does not start with any of the two batteries (original both of them).

When I landed I plugged the ac plug in and it started. It indicates that the battery is charging (70% and 80% respectively), but none of them doesn't seem to work because if I remove the plug, the laptop stops.

When it is plugged in, the led battery is a kind of blink (occasionally) but I don't understand what the problem is at all because the computer is running, I have two batteries will kind of dead at the same time, and even when they are charged according to the computer, they do not provide the power.

    Any tips?

    > After I entered the plane, out of the blue, the laptop does not start with any of the two batteries (original both of them).

Very strange that both batteries don t work after entering in the plane.
To be honest I m not the expert on this area, but maybe the radiation while checking the bags and personal items likely to affect the batteries.

However, the fact is that laptop does not work with batteries. I recommend you to buy another battery.

  • Satellite 1130 battery charge problem

Hi, just joined this site. I have a Satellite 1130 and seem to have a battery charging problem. Every so often, without regular pattern or a set of events to help the machine starts beeping and the Red charge blinks, as if the battery charge runs out, it is, but it happens when the charger is plugged - green power light shows that it is connected, but it is not the battery. The only solution I found is to turn the power off, disconnect the battery and back again. Then everything works until the next time.

    Any ideas?

    Hello

It is possible that there is a problem of electronic power supply. If the power supply microcontroller detects an error lamp DC IN sends a code flashing (8-bit error code). Can you please check it if the led blinks 8 times sending the code?

You can try to contact the Service partner, explain the problem and I'm sure they can give you a clear explanation.

  • Freezing up ONLY when it is PLUGGED in, DO NOT when executing a battery

I'm having a problem with my computer toshiba laptop.  When I plug it and use it, it freezes. After many experiments, I discovered that when I leave it unplugged and run it just on the battery, it does not freeze upwards.  Help.  This is crazy.  What would cause such a thing.  I tried other points of sale, I tried to use the power strips.  It freezes only when it is plugged.

    Hi zianez,

    1. did you of recent changes on the computer?

    2. you receive an error message?

    3. do you have other external devices connected to the computer?

    Method 1

I suggest that you reset the parameters of power plan on the laptop to default settings, then check if it works.

    (a) open the power supply Options by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, clicking system and Maintenance, and then clicking Power Options.

    (b) according to the plan that you want to change, click change plan settings.

    (c) now, click change advanced power settings

    (d) click on restore defaults for this plan.

    (e) click applyand OK

    Check if the problem persists.

    Method 2

If the previous step fails then I suggest that you check in the event viewer to find out the cause of the issue and after return with details.

What are the information contained in the logs of the event (Event Viewer)?

    I hope this helps!

  • Can I plug into my notebook to AC while running on battery?

I have a new HP Pavilion g6z laptop.  My question is General in nature, so I don't know the specs of the laptop.  My question is, can I plug into my notebook to acre while running on battery power, or should I shut it down first?  I would be plugged into a UPS device, so what matters.

    Thanks, Terry

    Hello Terry,

There is no problem at all with the connection of the AC adapter when the laptop is running - you can also unplug the adapter when the laptop is running.

  • HP Pavilion dv9548us battery drain problem

I have this system for several years without problem. Are some time I noticed that once set aside for more than a day when I opened it I couldn't activate it without going through the power supply plugged in.  When I had it on I discovered that the battery was at 0%.  I tried a controlled test to fully charge the battery, shut down the computer. Unpluging all devices (mouse usb receiver) and close the cover. 24 hours later, I opened the lid and was unable to turn on the computer. There are no lights on for nothing. After plugging the adapter in I turned on the computer and read 0% battery.  At that time I just assumed that it was the battery (age) and bought a new one.  This does NOT solve the problem. The same thing happens. After 24 hours if there is no battery, and the one I bought is a greater 12cell battery 7200mAh. I ran the air conditioning battery recommended by the manufacturer without help. The manufacturer has confirmed that the battery is right for my machine. I have also let the battery fully charged and then unplug the power adapter (with system) and let it run on battery alone. It lasted 4 hours and 35 minutes, which is approximately what it must run.

So why am I a dead battery after letting this sit, put off for 24 hours?

Thank you very much for this information. Reset the battery ACPI driver can take care of that. There is a hard reset mixed more, so the two combined methods generally help a lot with battery problems.

    1. go to start, search for Device Manager and open this result.

    2. expand the batteries.

    3. right click on the ACPI (usually the 2nd option) option and select Remove or uninstall. Follow the prompts.

    4. turn off the computer.

    5. unplug the charger.

    6 remove the battery.

7 press and hold the power button for 1 minute.

    8 insert the battery only.

    9. try to switch on the battery;

If it had an impact, it should behave differently.

    Let me know what happens.

  • Video of the MacBook Air to accuse by unplugged (current running off battery)

Hello. I have a Macbook Air from 2012. The Macbook works perfectly fine when it is plugged, but the minute I unplug the unit, some video that I might be streaming suddenly freezes, even if sometimes the audio is not yet. Weird. The battery works, even if it runs in less than an hour. It has a cycle of 657 counter. The battery health is diagnosed as being 'good '. Anyone know why this is happening and what I can do about it?

    Thank you.

Apparently, the MacBook Air is electric rationing of the battery through the

all of the GPU, CPU, free wireless internet, open, applications and requirements

Mac OS x itself; so many invisible things are underway in the background.

Have you looked into the specifications of profile of electrical system and battery

where the status of the battery is spelled in milli-ampere-hour charge remaining

    and expected full load capacity?

I imagine that the battery can be replaced; also if SSD drive

is full of stored content, the effort it takes the system to find the space

for swap files and read/write then in the storage disk, is your MB/Air tax.

Maybe an upgrade of the hard drive (SSD) ability is something to check

in (if it is possible to upgrade) or just be sure to not have much stored on board.

A replacement may be obtained from the macsales, OWC, among others.

Also make sure that the MagSafe connectors are clean and free of debris on both sides

the AC adapter and the DC-in Board (on the computer).

the use of Wi - Fi, other applications that run in the background; also the antivirus or other

You could look at the activity monitor to check the different points under your control
