Tecra S1 XP SP2

Finally, I installed on my tecra s1 Ms-2 it after reading the tips on this forum. However, when the pc is running and I unplug the power cord, while the battery is full, I get a blue screen and the pc restarts.
After the restart it says that it has recovered from a serious error. A single time-installing sp - 2 allowed to restart the normal pc.

Hello
There is a very interesting document online on the Homepage of Toshiba.

You will find that doc-> http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com. Go to "Support and downloads" and click on "Download drivers".

After you have selected your Notepad, search for "Microsoft Windows XP SP2 update information".

The new drivers for SP2 are also ready to download.

Bye!

  • Tecra A8, WinXP SP2 - number with built-in speakers

    Hello

I know that this issue has been brought on several times, but I can't find a solution.
I recently inherited a Toshiba Tecra A8. Problem is: the built-in speakers can't seem to work, but the sound is fine on speakers headphones or external. Speakers used to work at a certain time in the past, but the former owner cannot tell me what caused the change suddenly.

Here's what I did, chronologically, after going through several forums:

-SP3 was installed when I got the computer. I tried to go back to SP2.
-J' reinstalled XP (due, machine was too slow). SP2 came with the installation CD.
-J' installed two XP patches that were supposed to solve the problem: KB835221 and KB888111
-J' I re-installed the Realtek HD Audio codec
-J' I always try to inhibition/reactivate after all that I do, even before or after a reboot.

Here's what I can tell so far:

-Its icon is present on the system tray. All volumes are up, either on the Windows audio Manager or the Realtek one.
    -I have no BACK beeps.
-I'm still in SP2. Tried to move to SP3 (on this new installation of XP, of course).
-Until I have reinstall Realtex HD Audio, the "in-house" option listed under "Audio i/o" has been shown, but I couldn't access it. After reinstalling, it is simply gone.

I think that's about it. I came across the same solutions on various forums or discussion groups. I've been looking for two days now, nothing helps. The computer has never been dropped or damaged, and since then, it seems that many people experience (d) the same problem as mine, I'm sure this isn't a hardware problem. Well, I hope this isn't.

So there. I invite you, no, please use your magic and a flawless, absolute solution which will give back me the joy of listening to Justin Bieber in peace. Or something else.

    Thanks in advance!

What you did was right, but I m missing more important information: y at - it the same problem when you install original recovery image and test with the factory settings? If yes then we can say this isn't a hardware problem.
Now, we can only speculate if there can be unwanted hardware. Is that sound card works correctly, but somehow your internal speakers are disabled.

Reason is little mixer port audio jack. Maybe they are blocked somehow. Who knows?

  • Tecra 8200: After SP2 computer laptop installation keeps rebooting

    Hello.

I am running Windows XP Pro in my Tecra 8200 and decided to install SP2 (oh error) now, whenever I turn it on I go as far as a blue screen with the following message
    STOP: c0000135 {Unable to locate component}
This application has failed to start because winsrv was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

After my laptop keeps restarting - boots - blue screen again. I have tried everything to connect to windows to uninstall SP2, but I can not connect.
I tried to change the boot sequence (some ppl said that it was starting in LAN), I disabled the CPU Cache and L2 in the BIOS and still nothing. If I turn off reset on the failure of the system (as some other guy suggested) I just can't not anywhere either.

Unfortunately, I do not have the boot floppies so I can not format the laptop.

Now I know why that is happening, but the answers I get is to uninstall SP2, update the Bios, or to download patches, but I can't make one any of them because I can't get into windows, even in safe mode.

    Someone at - it ideas?

    Hi Hector.

If you cannot start in safe mode, and then unfortunately mode your only real option is to reinstall your operating system to the original recovery disks.

I think something went wrong during the installation of SP2 and this has led to the corruption of one or more of your system files.

I also recommend that you take a full backup of your system before attempting to do a re-installation of SP2 so that you do not have to depend on start-up in Windows to regulate if necessary.

Personally I take a picture full backup to an external hard drive using Norton Ghost before applying any big maintenance work on my own laptop.

  • Order of Tecra S1 - WXP SP2 Driver facilities

Ive been told that if I reinstall Windows XP Pro SP2 (without using restore disks) I need to first install the 'motherboard drivers"or any of the other modules Toshiba will install properly. Of course, during my last attempt, most of the modules would not move and displays an error that I started the installation.

What driver package should I install everything first so the others will install correctly?

  • Audio slow with Tecra S1 (XP SP2)

The sound is slow like a bunch of old played half speed.

  • Error message with program battery bluetooth and tecra 9100 XP SP2

When I try to start program battery bluetooth the following error message appears:
the instruction at "0x1000bf18" uses the address "0x0015d000". memory don't pet not be "read".

Is someone can tell me, what kind of question is this and how to fix it?

Thank you very much in advance

    Hi Patrick,

For the benefit of other users of the forum please let me translate your error message: -.

""The Instruction at "0x1000bf18" uses the memory address"0x0015d000". Cannot read memory.

This indicates that the broadcast program has stored the second addresses two memory as a place in which it writes data and now cannot read the data at this location memory.

It may be because some other routine wrote too much memory or reported to this place as "in use".

Windows will normally prevent such a situation from occurring, but being Microsoft is not infallible and errors may occur from time to time.

If you get this message every time that you start your battery Bluetooth, it is more likely to be a problem with the Bluetooth program badly to access its memory cache, so I recommend reinstalling the Bluetooth program.

    Good luck

  • Cannot wake up afer screen turned off by Power Saver on Tecra M5

    Tecra M5; XP SP2.
    Disabled screen saver.
Toshiba power saver set to turn off the monitor after 10 minutes.

Once off, I can't get the monitor to turn back.
I tried different combinations of keys fn and function, but nothing helped.

Only solution seems to be to send Hibernate (off button is set to hibernate).
Screen comes on to say hibernation and works fine after a reboot. Not a critical but very irritating error

Great Robin! Thanks for the link.

  • Tecra M7 and Nokia SU - 27W bluetooth

    Hello
After hours of tests, I can't have my Nokia SU - 27W digital pen to fully connect via Bluetooth to my Tecra M7 (WinXp SP2 TabletPC). The device is recognized, asked me a PIN, but the connection process ends with "no services detected." I installed the latest version of Toshiba BT Stack 5.10.06 (T), but it's all the same. Checking options of Bluetooth Manager, I can see that the pen is reported as "paired", but no connection is established, the tab of the diagnostic tool cannot find the pen.
The pen supports Bluetooth SPP 1.2 services (and sum other ones that I don't need). I need to activate the data streaming via bluetooth and get the data via a virtual COM port.
    I totally blue.
Can someone give me a hint?

You have success using the USB connection?

  • Tecra M9-136 - BSOD during Vista SP2 update

Tecra M9-136 asked this morning to upgrade to the Vista SP2 and in the process the BSOD 0x0000007E arrived. Restarted in Mode safe and continuous Setup and then finally reported that the update failed - and came back to SP1. It took most of the morning.

It will start in Safe Mode, but on a start normal, Vista SP1 gets through fingerprint recognition and then fails with the same BSOD (there is regarding the display of the desktop).

The laptop has BIOS 1.80 level. I tried in safe mode to install 1.90 but he told me that the battery has insufficient charge and the AC adapter is not attached. Both wrong.

Stuck - need advice. Could this be a hard failure? Can't see how I can update whatever it is if it's a soft fault.
    Thank you

Have you tried to make back the OS to an earlier time before the SP2 installation started?
You can do it in safe mode.

  • Tecra S1: BSOD & reboot after installing SP2

After installation of SP2 for Windows XP on three Tecra S1 of the computer crashes whenever the power cord is out of the machines. Then it restarts and restarts until the machine stops completely.

The error ocures on three Tecra S1. It seems that there is a conflict with the pre-installed Windows XP Pro and the drivers Toshiba and SP2.

Someone at - it an idea how to solve this very annoying problem?

    Thank you

    Chris

    Hello Chris,
the SP2 blocking ActiveX Toshiba Management Console modules, so you must install the fixed version TMC v3.5.2.
However, to avoid any problem, after installation of SP2 on Tecra S1, you need to update:
-Battery BT and utility (only for machines with BT)
    Management - Toshiba console
    -Toshiba Hotkey utility
    Utilities - Toshiba
    Energy saving - Toshiba
    Toshiba - mobile extensions

  • BSOD after installing SP2 on Tecra A2

    Hola,

A friend gave me his Toshiba Tecra A2 (489 MB RAM, 1.75 GHz, 40 GB HD, XP Pro SP1), who suffered the usual problems of the system of middle ages - in phase terminale-slow-off operation, the caused by badly clogged registry etc... I made sure that I wouldn't break it, or at least would do no worse, and that it would be better to take it to a store tech for them to watch, £30.

Then I did the stuff standard, following which worked well.

    * Disc cleanup (from C:\ [Properties])
    * msconfig to remove unnecessary startup programs
    * Full scan disk
    * full defrag
    * hung in line to run liveupdate from Norton AV
    * ran a standard register, basic cleaning program
    * all online ran several passes of windows update, with several restarts without error.

    -----

He then took all afternoon install SP2 and restart, he went through the usual XP style blue splash screens, I expected post-SP installation, i.e. "Please wait...". »

seemed to crash, reboot, and then displays the blue screen of death and this message:

    -----

    STOP: c000021a {fatal system error}
The process of the system session manager initialization ended unexpectedly with status 0x000026c. (0x00000000 0 x 0000000).
The system has been shut down

    ------

Since I tried all other boot options (safe mode, last known good setting, etc.) without success.

Any ideas on how to recover? I would be grateful. At the very least, I need to retrieve files from the HD before making a recovery facility.

    your

First: with such errors you should first ask google or microsoft because it s knowledge base not a toshiba associated problem.
And regarding your problem: you are absolutely not able to enter the system?

You can recover the files by putting HARD drive into a USB box and copy the contents to another diskk or you use 'UBCD4Win' and copy the files from the HDD to another USB - HDD.

Otherwise, you'll have some nice for study time because it can be ANYTHING!

  • Tecra S1 problems after SP2 installation

I have a problem when I use SP2 on my Tecra S1. After you install SP2, my pc crashes when I use the function 'stand by' or 'Hibernate '. It comes with a conflict of interrupt on irq 11 and begins to restart again. Whenever the pc starts again, the blue screen appears with the problem to irq 11 and the program that does, it apears at the bottom of the blue screen, should be "gv3.sys. I did al updates on ' information to update the driver for Windows XP with Service Pack 2 - v1.1.pdf ", but without success. The pdf file say I need to update the driver power saver to version 1.00.34M version, but I can't find it on the site. I use the Dutch version of WXP and the only driver I can find on the Web site is the 1.00.32M version and the English version is the 1.00.34M, so maybe that's the problem. I tried with a clean version directly from the restore CD but I came up with the same results.

Who can help me to fix this, or point me in the right direction.

    Hello
you are absolutely right! The 1.00.32M version is the most recent for your machine (for the Netherlands).

Do not irritate cause there is a version higher than for other countries. The functions are equal.

Try again with this version and keep us updated, please!

  • Fixes SP2 on SP1 tecra: dangerous?

Just bought me a tecra M2 XP prof SP1: wanted to download the upgrades of windows without knowing that some patches for SP 2 came: after my virusscan installation didn't do it either!
Do you have a systemrecovery are these patches disappeared after systemrecovery (always appear in the list of software)?
    Thank you

    Hello

If the laptop is installed with recovery CD, you can find a lot of patches in your list of currently installed programs. The best way to install the latest patches is to use Windows Update. This option, you can find in Internet Explorer under TOOLS.

You can also install SP2, but it may happen that after this, you need to reinstall some Utilities CD tools & utilities. The best source of information for this case, you will find under
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com. under Support & downloads, there are all the drivers and the FAQ for the Microsoft Service Packs.

If you have problems with fixes or SP2 please let us know.

    Good bye

  • Tecra A9 move from Win XP SP2 to SP3 - questions?

Anyone have trouble with their Tecra A9 when upgrading to Windows XP SP2 to SP3? I've heard horror stories with other laptops that users lock their systems or lose functionality.

Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences.

    Hello

I m not Tecra A9 owner but I already installed the SP3 Win and I didn't notice any strange problems after installing SP3.
Of course, it might be possible that some drivers would not fully compatible with some fixes and patches but it seems that I m a lucky guy and there is nothing wrong with my operating system.

But to be honest; I didn't notice any improvement after the installation of Sp3.
However, you can install Sp3 on your system and if you have great compatibility problems you'd still be able to remove the SP3 of the system.

    Welcome them
