TouchSmart 300-1122: Mic Jack works do not (a little)

Product #: BK338AA-ABA

Okay, so the question here. I'll try to include some pictures too. So, on the left side of my computer, it has a headphone jack and microphone jack.

Low headphone plug works perfectly. I plug my TRS 3.5 mm headphones and they work. Just to show you that they are infact headphone 3.5 mm TRS:

I also have a microphone (which works on all other computers in the House), which is also a 3.5 mm TRS plug:

But when I plug in my microphone on taking online, I get whether audio. Is not same airship. Here is an example, with the MIC is plugged in (before ask you, yes I know my integrated is the default device, I use this show even when breath super hard directly into the microphone, without the audio is saved):

Now, before asking all these stuff, yes I did all the stuff of pilot. I have done this, done that, let windows install, downloaded the default value of HP.  If you have access to new drivers, shot my way, but of all my googiling, it seems that what I have is the best that there is (photo below).

Then, why is my say title (a bit)? Well, you know how to the microphones and speakers, they are a similar technology just goes different directions? Well I plugged my headphones in there, and I blew air in as hard as I could, and it actually only picked up. Don't get me wrong, it was EXTREMELY feigned (as it should be, since these are headphones being forced to act as a microphone), but nevertheless, I was able to actually record the audio from those. So for me, it means that this microphone jack has some features, but for some reason, my microphone doesn't work simply.

So my question to you, has taken all these information? Why my microphone is not working? Require a microphone powered? Require a jacks 3.5 mm JACK instead of the 3.5 mm standard? I can assure you the microphone works. I tried it on two other computers and got her nice and crispy. I tried to open my touchsmart, but all the wires seemed to be intact. In addition, given that the headphones were able to send some audio adds as further confirmation that the connections are secure.

If you have a look, I'm all ears. I hope that I gave you a good amount of info to work with.

OK, so update: I thought that one way or another, something must be damaged or something. The reason why I never noticed that this entire problem was earlier because I've always used him built in mic, but after continual complaints from slightly background hum and others (as is the case with built in microphones), I decided to buy a micro cheap for my computer. AFTE, in doing so, I then learned that the outlet is not functioning little matter what I do.

Anyway, the solution I found was to buy this Sabrent USB external adapter stereo sounds. So pretty, it is a small USB key with a sound card in that you plug in and the computer recognizes it. It costs around $7-$14 (there are other alternatives if you don't want to buy the one I listed). Simple as pie. So I plugged it, with the microphone into the mic jack. I changed some settings, because when you plug everything in, he wants to replace both your microphone AND your audio output. Which is ok, you can plug your headphones or speakers, but I wanted my computer headset, jack/speakers to work instead. Just so go into the sound settings and restore the default value for your computer speakers. (photo below) While elsewhere, you can always connect your headset on your computer and get the audio, or just listen to out of the enclosure built into the touchsmart computer.

Then in the mic tab, I have the USB set as my default microphone rather than integrated like you can see on the picture below.

If the USB is responsible for all the purposes of mic. In case you're wondering what mic I use, this is the one: neewer mic

It is very cheap (even in this pack 2 it's like $5, if that $5 shipping, then maybe pair it with something else). Or if you have your own base micro little has no need power to make it work, just plug in the USB and bam you're good to go. Not the most ideal, of course, you do want to be able to solve the problem at its source, but given the difficulty has been to buy a cheap USB plug no game sound card that I could get on sale for $6 with shipping included, I'm happy.

I wanted just to update everyone to know that it was the best I could do. Thank you all.

    Hello

I have a HP touchsmart 300-1125 with windows 7 64 bit, version of the motherboard is APP78-CF Jesse.  I can't even start the BIOS!  Can someone help with this at all?

    Thank you very much

    Hello

You say that you can not boot to BIOS, but are you able to get into windows or not?

Your text, I think you have more problems then the startup in the BIOS, surely you can not even go to windows, I'm wrong?

If this is the case, if you turn on the device and you have a black screen, you probably have a problem with the mother/CPU board, and they could be replaced.

If you have knowledge or someone who can help, you can do a power reset first, remove the AC adapter and press and hold the power button down for 30 seconds, then try to connect to the device.

If this is not enough, make a memory reset, remove the memory module, insert it on an empty slot and try to start the machine, if nothing happens, try to start unity wihtout the memory and see if you beep codes.

If this is not enough, one thing you could try would be a reset of the CPU, but that one is a process more complex.

Give me more deails, and we'll see what it is, so to provide more details and confirm if I'm right about your problem, if not, provide more details and we can check if the steps that I have proposed, can be applied by you.

  • HP Touchsmart 300-1122: video/graphics card

I recently tried to watch videos that are really high quality, and he started the buffering a lot. I was wondering if I could replace the graphics card, AMD Athlon or I can not because it is integrated. If I can, please (if it exists), put a guide on how to replace the video card. In addition, what the video card can be replaced with it.

    Waifu-Chan, welcome to the forum.

The computer has an MXM graphics socket (for map of MXM graphics included on some models). MXM mobile video cards are made primarily for OEMs such as HP.  For this reason, they are very hard to find.  Therefore, it is difficult to upgrade of the video.

  • My UK Touchsmart 300 will work in the United States?

I bought my Touchsmart 300 at the United Kingdom 2 years ago.  Now, I'm moving back to the United States and bring it with me.   I have an adapter for it and if so, what kind?

    Ed,

Yes, I meant the laptop as power supply. However, since it has an internal power supply, please provide the full name of the HP model and/or the name of the product to the computer in question. I'm trying to determine if the power supply is auto-allant 100 to 240 volts as laptop power supplies are.

    Information of a product number: VG255AA / name of the model: HP TOUCHSMART 300-1025UK indicates that the internal power supply looks like;

    http://allpcpower.com/images/products/detail/517133001FULL.jpg

    http://allpcpower.com/images/products/detail/517133001DETAILLABEL.jpg

This picture shows clearly... of 100-240 v, while the first image does not display a red switch. This should indicate that the power is automatic. Now, if your computer uses the same power supply... you can be good to go, just using a computer 110V US cable.

  • HP TouchSmart 300-1120: the video card upgrade

I came into possession of a HP Touchsmart 300-1120. I do not use not for the games just the navigation and use to watch movies when traveling through Plex home theater.

I've updated the CPU to an Athlon X 4 605th & maxed out the RAM 8 GB. I noticed that I can upgrade the video card using the Mobile PCI Express Module slot.  Even though I know that the GPU Radeon HD 3200 onboard can handle HD videos, he hangs out considerably. even though I have the film on the hard drive.

So the question is, where can find one of these cards. And is there a way to upgrade the PSU?

Your PC AIO has a sleeve of MXM graphics.  The following video card will work. It was included in some models of PC.

  • TouchSmart 300: Windows 10 no sound

    Hello

I have upgraded to windows 7 to 10 and have now no sound. I tried to update the audio driver which is updated but still no sound. ideas please

    Isca13

Without your specific model number, I can't check for your PC, but I checked several Touchsmart 300 models and the problem is that your driver is NOT updated - and cannot be updated.  Why? Because HP does not provide the Win10 for the Touchsmart 300 pilots.

If you follow the instructions in the thread and post your detailed model number, I can check for your model: find your model of HP product number. HP® customer support

But fundamentally, the problem that you are facing is that Microsoft provides only pilots with the most basic features and what you really need for these features in laptops is the specialized drivers written for the specific material found in laptops - and unfortunately, there is no HP Win10 driver for your laptop.  HP only guarantees the compatibility of Win10 for machines manufactured after August 2013. HP is not no matter what timetable indicating when, or IF, they will produce drivers for older machines.

Here are a few alternatives to pilot, you can continue...

You can try to use Windows updates to find the drivers from Microsoft deposits for your device: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03330139

You can also try following the instructions in this thread: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04763435/

If Windows Update doesn't give new drivers, you can pursue alternative which are described in the linked Microsoft Windows Insider community thread: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/insider/wiki/insider_wintp-insider_devices/how-to-install-and-update-drivers-in-windows-10/a97bbbd1-9973-4d66-9a5b-291300006293

If you then run into trouble, install the drivers through Windows Update, you can try to use of Microsoft Windows Update Troubleshooter: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/open-the-windows-update-troubleshooter

    Good luck

  • HP TouchSmart 300 connection issues

Hi, I have a HP TouchSmart 300 with Windows 7 Edition Home Premium that I bought in 2008. Yesterday morning it was working completely fine. The end of the night when I turned it on again, it took a while to start and join the log on screen. I was thinking just leave it off overnight and turn it on the next morning to see if that would help. I turned it on this morning and it took awhile to get to the log on screen, but he got there. Once I logged it took awhile to open a session and he stayed right on the Welcome screen indicating the loading circle. When he connected, the screen was black. Works and move the cursor, but everything else was black. I pressed Ctrl + Alt + Del and the usual options screen appeared. I clicked on log off. I then logged back in and it started to load for awhile then all returned to the login screen. I connected again and again the black screen with the cursor to work. So I pressed Ctrl + Alt + Del again and cliked start the Task Manager and it returned to the black screen. After 10 minutes to leave her like that the Task Manager appears but the rest of the screen is always black. I know 5 years will be a great run by a computer these days, but I just want to know if I could still save and continue to use it.

Does anyone have an idea of what might happen and how I could solve this problem?
    This happened to someone else?

  • TouchSmart 300 Crash when installing Win 7 OS

    Hi all

I have a HP TouchSmart 300-1025. It came pre-installed with Windows 7 (Home) 64-bit. I have repeatedly tried to install Win 7 (home) 32 bit. Whenever the system is close to complete the installation of the OS, I get a blue screen that indicates very briefly on the screen. From what I see during his momentary appearance, mentions blue screen and memory dump physical. I can't the system to complete the installation of Win 7 (home) 32-bit. The collision process is repeated. Anyone would be able to provide some useful tips? This system is not designed to receive one other than its image as a stock OS install? I have a hardware problem? I run a diagnostic check in the bios. All controls of spend. I would appreciate help, if none is available.

    Thank you for your time.

    Hello dendriform:

Of course it goes crashing, you can not install software for Windows 7 32 bit on a 64-bit operating computer you need to stick with Windows 7 64 bit software there is a big difference in OS OK. If you want to run the older version of the software on your 64-bit Windows 7 computer you can always but not all software work can you get grade Windows 7 home 64 bit for Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and once that is downloaded will go to microsoft website and download windows xp mode. These computers are not 32-bit computers. That's your problem, and that's why it crashes. Back to Windows 7 home 64 bit software. As you cannot install software 64-bit on a 32-bit computer with a change of 3d parts of computer hard drives and cards that never need to change the.

  • get an hp mce remote for touchsmart 300-1125

I want to add a command remotely to my HP Touchsmart 300-1125 and think to order the remote control 5070-5600 HP (random link: http://cgi.ebay.com/HP-COMPAQ-5070-5600-Media-Center-Remote-Control-/330414657906#ht_805wt_911).

    I wonder two things:

    (1) the receiver IR * is * integrated, is not it? (Device Manager lists an functional eHome infrared device)

If in doubt, where should I look for the sensor to the IR receiver on the case?

    (2) I think lists distance 5070-5600 as made to the old series IQ of Touchsmarts. He will work with the new 300 series?

    Thank you

    Mike

I have now received the HP remote control (only part no 5070-2583) and were able to try with my TouchSmart PC. It does not, then, obviously, there is no sensor IR receives the signal, even if the infrared device eHome is listed in Device Manager.

My guess is that the device is listed as the same motherboard is used on all models, and the remote control chip is present, even if not connected to a sensor IR diode.

I ordered a HP's IR receiver to the external address (only part no 5070-2584) so hope to be operational soon anyway...

  • I have a TouchSmart 300-1007 that performs a hard block after about 30 minutes to be turned.

I have a TouchSmart 300-1007 that performs a hard block after about 30 minutes to be turned.

Windows 7 Home Edition, the stock machine, even if it does even if I start in diagnostics (F9 at the start of the BIOS), so I doubt it has nothing to do with the operating system.

By "hard block", I mean the screen goes black, the wireless keyboard is not flashing blue light on the USB FOB and the power button only turns off although it by hand for 30 seconds. I have to pull the power cord to turn it off.

It started shortly after the application of the 5.12 version 2A8E update motherboard BIOS published 2011-03-24. Never should have done that; experience shows that I have more problems than improving when updatng BIOS' are.

No heat problem (air vents are clean as a whistle). I suppose the best thing would be to restore the BIOS but I don't know if it is possible, or how to do it.

This is my daily workstation and is now effectively a boat anchor / deadline / brick.

    Any ideas?

Yay for me. My dose of GENIUS has had this problem for THREE DAYS running machine now without any problem whatsoever.

It it CERTAINLY evil genius of this machine, no doubt.

Other victims of the Touchsmart series should regroup and get some kind of compensation. I know that I had to buy a new computer to replace this one when it stopped working, and I spent a TON of time to solve the problem (it would be an easy solution to the factory; not so easy at home)

  • DV9930US. internal Microphone does not work do not (Vista and Windows7)

    Hello

I had my DV9930US for awhile, but until recently, I've not used the webcam or microphone internal.

I am preparing for a trip, so I thought I'd see if I could get something like Skype Setup, but I find the internal mic doesn't seem to work (do not hear anything).   Audio output seems to work very well, and also if I plug an external microphone on taking forward, under the keyboard, which seems to work... it is just the internal microphones (there are two, I think, at the top of the screen, which surrounds the webcam) which do not work ...

Everything looks ok in Device Manager.  Under 'Sound', I have "Realtek High Definition Audio".  The driver is dated 15/01/08, V6.0.1.5548.

I tried to test it with sound recorder, I also tested the microphone 'configure', but it never shows all the bars and the Sound Recorder file records is essentially silent.

I still have the original Vista Home Premium on this machine and also Windows 7 Ultimate (I double boot), and even the original Vista seems to have the same problem.

I've seen a few posts here with problems with G60s, but no resolution, so I was wondering if anyone might know which

    Perhaps the problem is?

    Thank you!

    Jim

    Hello

For the record, I finally found the problem.

In the DV9930US, there is a small PCB (1 "x 1"), called the "of the power button.  This is the power button, and 3 pin connectors, as well as a flat cable connector.

The microphones under the screen to connect to a 3 pinned connectors, and the flat cable is going, I think for the real sound card.

I had replaced the pickups, which does not solve the problem, so I bought the replacement power button that fortunately, came with a new flat cable.

It turned out that the original flat cable from the power button on the audio card was bad.

I replaced the flat cable, and then worked the internal microphones.

Hello, I have a PC HP Touchsmart 300.  I recently sent in for repair and it works very well for a few months.  They replaced the motherboard and the hard disk.  My brother somehow got some malware on the PC so I decided to do a system restore on it.  Whenever I do a restoration of one of the discs of recovery or the recovery partition, it gives me an error saying: Recovery Manager cannot restore your computer by using the image with.  Please contact HP support.  Error code: 0xe0ef0003.  What can I do to solve this problem and to restore?

    Hello

I don't think your recovery partition can be damaged and the only option for you is to order the Kit of the RRS from HP in order to restore your windows to original state.

You are still able to get into windows? If so, try to create the RRS Kit, if you can't, try to order the Kit by using the information that I posted below.
