Hi all

I have a server with two databases (has and B) and two instances (A and B), the databases are running.
When I use "sqlplus / as sysdba" to connect to a database, I connect to the database A.How can I connect to database B.

I am using oracle 10g (10.2.0.1.0).

PL help me as soon as possible.

Thank you

    Original title: what are these lines?

    These lines appear randomly on my wife's computer at work. The pc is win7. It has two screens and this will appear on the screen, but not both. TI people have looked and fiddled around with the PC and proclaimed it fixed. She sent me this screenshot well after that IT "fixed". While I can't go to work on a computer in New York State, I am confused and became curious to know what this could be. Lines appear on top of any application is open and will not appear in what it to be printed. Very strange.

    Uninstall and reinstall any AMD or NVidia graphic drivers

    Reset the monitor via the buttons at the bottom of the screen.

  • A target table is in charge of two different sources but the same columns, but a source is one database and another in a flat file.

    We all hope you are doing well.

    I have a business problem to implement in ODI 11 G. It's here. I'm trying to load a target table from two sources that have the same column names. But a source is to the file format and the other is in the Oracle database.

    That's what I think I'll create two mappings in the same interface by using the Union between the sources. But I don't know how the interface would connect to different logical architecture to connect to two different sources.

    Thank you

    SM

    You are on the right track, all in a single interface. Follow these steps

    (1) pull model of your data in the designer of the source file and your table model target to the target pane.

    (2) all relevant columns map

    (3) in the source designer to create a new dataset and choose as the UNION join type (this will create a separate tab in the source designer pane)

    (4) select the new dataset tab in the source designer pane and pull your source oracle table data model in the designer of the source. All columns that are relevant to the target card

    (5) make sure that your staging location is set to a relational technology i.e. in this case the target would be an ideal candidate because it is where the ODI will organize the data from source two files and oracle and perform the UNION before loading to the target

  • Difference between an Oracle database and Oracle SID

    Hello

    Can someone please differeniate what exactly is the difference between an Oracle SID and a new Oracle database.
    We just need to create another instance of an application (so we need another copy of all tables).

    So either we can:

    1. new database SID created or

    2. new user created in the existing schema or

    3. the new database provided

    What is the best approach?

    Hello

     New database SID created or

    Which is the equivalent of creating a new database in your case.

    New user created in existing schema or

    You mean new schema (user) created in the existing database. I assumed that this is because you do not want both asks to update the same copy of the table, but copy different.

    3. New database provided

    Depends of your you if you want to create a new database or a new scheme to get another copy of the table.

    A few points that I take in mind
    (1) if I have a production database and I need to create a new set of control panels, or any other end, I would create a new database.
    (2) if I have a test database and I need to create a new set of tables of control or any other purpose, if possible I would create a new schema of the existing database.
    (3) if I use less resources(hardware/memory), I would proffer a new schema of the existing database.
    (4) if I'm running not less resources and I want to keep these two entirely different copies, then for security reasons I would create a new database.

  • Two-way replication in two databases in a single server

    I have two instances of installation OGG, one for each database. Let's say that they are respectively OGG1 and OGG2 for DB1 and DB2. Ogg1 has two extracts and OGG2 has 1 replicat for replication of the first. It works well independently.  OGG2 has two excerpts and OGG1 1 replicat for replication of the second, which is for the direction of backword. It also works well independently. As I got to know previously, this is how I do two-way replication, by running these two processes together. I did it.

    But when I did, it gives me the desired result. What currently happening given cannot be changed in one of the databases. When the data changes, it shows the change. but when committed, itself data is modified in its original values. What's the harm? Two processes works well independently.

    ORASCN Hi Vicky, you were the subject of this question with me. It's good if you can have a look.

    Yes, that was the problem. I added "TranLogOptions ExcludeUser ogguser" the main excerpt from two replications. ogguser is my user goldengate.

    Extract einta1q

    SETENV (ORACLE_SID = "dd")

    UserIdAlias ogg_user

    TranlogOptions IntegratedParams (max_sga_size 256)

    TranLogOptions ExcludeUser ogguser

    Exttrail ./dirdat/ip

    LOGALLSUPCOLS

    UPDATERECORDFORMAT COMPACT

    Table SC2.*;

    Now looping does not occur. Replication is as expected. Thank you.

  • Firewall rules RMAN target database and RMAN catalog database

    Hi, we are on Oracle 11.2.0.4 and we just build a new environment, in which case the RMAN catalog is located on a seprate from the target database server. I'm trying to figure if the firewall between these two rules should be two-way, so that the target database and RMAN catalog database can ping each other. If bi-directional rules in place, so what's the reason for this? I understand that during RMAN backup entries are made in the RMAN catalog database, but do not know if the RMAN catalog database must always meet target db. Thank you!

    If you run the rman command on the target database server, it acts as a client to the catalog database server by connecting on sqlnet to the catalog database.

    If you run the rman command on the catalog database server, it's a sqlnet connection join the target database server.

    In both cases, rman is simply a client that connects to the two databases.

  • Where should you install Oracle database and grid Infrastructure in order to comply with OFA?

    I downloaded two files compressed to the Oracle database installation, and both zipped install files for the grid Infrastructure.  The book I'm following for installation is said to use a directory of the database and a directory for the grid Infrastructure, but it does not explain where they should be located in OFA.  Probably they should both close up somewhere in the same Base of Oracle (since all Oracle related on a single file system should go in the same basis, according to my understanding), but it is not clear where they need to be installed over the other.  For example, the grid Infrastructure is a separate product that gets its own Oracle Home?  Anyone can shed some light on this process?

    Also, does it matter where the zipped files are uncompressed?  For example, use one of these files after the installation process, or OFA only cares location after installation?

    Yes, they go in separate oracle_home.  This should be explained in the respective Setup Guide.  This will be a CAR or a standalone ASM?  I have

    It does not matter where you unzip the installation files.  They are only used for the installation.

  • Comparison of the two bays and change alpha to the array element?

    Hello

    I continue to work on improving my code ("do more with less"), but ran into a problem.

    I try to have some cases become visible when the mouse over other forums (as if the 'campScene.goToAxSign' becomes visible once the mouse is on "campScene.goToAx"). I have two tables; "hoverDetectArray" handles instances "goToX"and "hoverInfoArray" handles instances "goToXSign.

    hoverDetectArray = [campScene.goToAx, campScene.goToBridge, campScene.cantGo];

    hoverInfoArray = [campScene.goToAxSign, campScene.goToBridgeSign, campScene.cantGoSign];

    The event listener constantly listening for any changes.

    addEventListener (Event.ENTER_FRAME, SceneHoverInfo);

    I have also two functions (although if there is a way to do this with one, please let me know), "SceneHoverInfo" and "SceneHoverInfo2". I am able to do "SceneHoverInfo" works correctly (at least drawing, not my final goal) if I add an event listener for the second function.

    public void SceneHoverInfo(event:Event) {}

    for (var i: uint = 0; i < hoverDetectArray.length; i ++) {}

    If (hoverDetectArray [i] .hitTestPoint (mouseX, mouseY, true)) {}

    trace ("cheese");

    } else {}

    null;

    }

    }

    }

    However, I get the error 'term is undefined' if I write this:

    If the mouse is hovering

    public void SceneHoverInfo(event:Event) {}

    for (var i: uint = 0; i < hoverDetectArray.length; i ++) {}

    If (hoverDetectArray [i] .hitTestPoint (mouseX, mouseY, true)) {}

    addEventListener (Event.ENTER_FRAME, SceneHoverInfoAlso);

    } else {}

    removeEventListener (Event.ENTER_FRAME, SceneHoverInfoAlso);

    }

    }

    }

    sign to view

    public void SceneHoverInfoAlso(event:Event) {}

    for (var e:uint = 0; e < hoverInfoArray.length; e ++) {}

    .Alpha hoverInfoArray [e] = 1;

    }

    }

    I don't know there is something I'm missing, as for the comparison of the two tables. I was hoping somehow the installation program, ' if the mouse is positioned on stationary pointDetectArray [0], castInfoArray [0] to be visible.»

    Help is appreciated, as always, and let me know if you need more information.

    Geez, sorry, my bad. It was a problem of naming error that I do not. However, I must point out that functions still do not work the way I want. I am only able to do the alpha = 0 if I hover over the first element of hoverDetectArray [i] (although a trace works on all levels to detect three); others don't seem to be listening. I will continue to work on that.

    Ned Murphy wrote:

    What is the full error message?  Make sure you go in your publication of PFlash settings and select the option to enable debugging so that your error message provides more complete information when possible.

    EDIT: Welp, IT solved. The key was simply re-use i like the whole (since both "line up" quite a bit) and not worry a statement 'for' for hoverInfoArray.

    public void SceneHoverInfo(event:Event) {}

    for (var i: uint = 0; i

    If (hoverDetectArray [i] .hitTestPoint (mouseX, mouseY, true)) {}

    hoverInfoArray [i] .alpha = 1;

    } else {}

    hoverInfoArray [i] .alpha = 0;

    }

    }

    }

    A single listener, with the default name for LISTENER, using port 1521 single default, is quite capable of - in fact, WAS DESIGNED FOR - several instances of several versions of several ORACLE_HOMEs service. Having several headphones rarely accomplishes nothing except confusion between the diagnostic process, as your case showed clearly.

    A listener is simply a broker for connection requests. Having a listener for each database on a given server is the equivalent of the telephone company, creating and maintaining a separate table for each telephone number in the system

  • Oracle HTTP server on a different machine than the database and APEX

    Hi guys!

    I wonder if its possible to have Oracle HTTP Server installed on a different machine then the database and APEX?

    With respect,

    PsmakR

    Hello

    exactly. Details have recently been examined here: {: identifier of the thread = 1955437}. You will find the link to the license document it.
    But OSH is not only registered with the database. If you have an OAS running somewhere, you can use the HTTP server that comes with this instance for APEX as well.

    Another option could be the APEX listener that runs on (almost) any J2EE container. The officially supported include the embedded GlassFish and the Open Source Edition of GlassFish, who both don't need no extra license.

  • A SCN for the entire database and the different SNA for the data files?

    DB Version: 11 g

    I always thought that there is a unique SCN for the database as a whole.
    A quote from the link below as
    When a control point is completed, Oracle stores the RCS individually in the control for each data file file
    http://www.dbapool.com/articles/1029200701.html

    What does that mean? There is a SNA for the entire database, and there are individual SCN for each data files?

    Well, unfortunately, the article says more bad than good things. Or if I can't call them wrong, they are rather confusing and rather than clear things for the reader, its making them appear to look more confused.

    First things, YVERT is used for read consistency (CR) mechanism and the backbone of the notion of Multiversioning. The control point is the mechanism to help that recovery is decided. Contrary to what said article, not any kind of checkpoints update both the data file and the control file, and also, there is not a type of them as well. In addition, the article says that the LAST_CHECKPOOINT is set to NULL, while its actually set to the infinity since it is not possible to detect the moment when the database is opened, that the last issue of control over the file would be. In the case of complete control point, this number is saved and is also associated with the toa Controlfile own database leader at the next startup. If this is not the case, there is an inconsistency in the stop_checkpoint of the data file and the stop_checkpoint reocrded in the control file, leading to a recovery of the instance.

    There are several types of control points. Similarly, there are several types of SNA as well. Without going into the details of these, IMO, the article simply means that when the control point write over a file passes, oracle updates the file checkpoint on it and this is recorded in the Controlifle. as well.

    Thank you very much

    best regards,

    I'm not really sure what you're talking about. There is no option, expdp and impdp x % of the data, is that? And if Oracle can sovle repositories inetegrity (PK, FK), it cannot be assumed which tables are lookup table (to be entirely exported) and can not assume the logical data integrity.
