U2312HM: DisplayPort and DVI port

My U2312HM monitor has a display port and my motherboard supports DisplayPort as well.

There are advantages of using DisplayPort to DVI?

Innogen,

They both will make the resolution of 1920 x 1080. DP transmits audio also if the video card supports.

  • Workstation HP Z230: how to disable NVIDIA NVS 315 to use integrated DP and DVI ports

My HP Z230 workstation was equipped with Windows 7 and an NVIDIA NVS 315 video card.  This card works satisfactorily; However, I recently acquired a monitor Asus PB287Q Ultra high definition (4K), capable of a resolution of 3840 X 2160 pixels.  The NVIDIA card DVI by default generates a graph of the 1920 x 1200 resolution. Therefore, I can't take full advantage of the ability of 4K of my new monitor.

I tried to uninstall the NVIDIA card to force the PC to recognize the video hardware on the motherboard, but none of the monitors connected to the RFP or DVI ports displays video information.  In other words, my PC recognizes that the NVIDIA card (when connected) and nothing else.

What should I do?  I'm a LabVIEW programmer and a 4K display is a tool powerful graphics-oriented environments.  Thank you for your help.

Thanks for your reply, Paul.  I tried what you mentioned, but could not get DP working out until I went to the HP Driver download site and downloaded the Z230 Intel graphics drivers: http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/readIndex?sp4ts.oid=5367828 & swLangOid = 8 & swEnvOid = 4060

Now I have a total of 5 outputs (2 DP and 3 DVI) video! I don't have to remove the NVIDIA cards and I full resolution 4K on the outputs video of DP!  Can not be more happy with my output video.  Now the problem is to convince my supervisor that five monitors high resolution are better than one (not-a-chance).  :-)  Once again, thank you.

Windows7. Have a G-Force FX AGP card with a vga and dvi port. Include in annex a vga monitor and a dvi. I get the same screen on both.  Windows 7 does not detect the 2 monitors! Any advice?

  • Portege R500: external monitor does not work with the Port Replicator Port 2 and DVI

I have a Portege R500 running Vista with a slim Port Replicator II and digital monitor Viewsonic.
I connected the monitor to the DVI port on the port replicator and got it to work OK.
Press fn + F5 would switch between the computer screen and the external monitor.

Then it stopped working, and I can't make it work at all. F5 recognizes just the laptop screen.

If I connect an analog display, it is fine, and I can pass between the two screens without difficulty.

The strangest thing is that, if I reboot when the Portege R500 is docked, the digital monitor begins by displaying the boot sequence, but then the signal is lost as soon as the screen stops the display of the progress (in low resolution) bar.

I spent an hour on the phone to support Friday, and he made me nowhere.
They finished by saying that he should never have worked! So what is the DVI port because then?

    Any ideas?

    David

Connect your monitor directly to your laptop and see if it is recognized and you can go through FN + F5 between the two views.
If it works, then connect with port replicator, and then try again.

It's probably best if you reinstall display drivers. Maybe there are new too on the download page.

  • Tecra M10 and Express Port Replicator, no DVI to Toshiba 20 "LCD output

    Hello

As the bed of the subject line, I will put up a new Tecra M10 with the Express Port Replicator and monitor LCD Toshiba Tekbright 20 ".

The system works on Windows XP, and the ordinary VGA connection on the port replicator works fine when connected to the external LCD.

However, there seems to be no way to get the DVI interface on port replicator, working on the LCD.

I tried to run this utility, and it does not detect the DVI monitor at all.

I have updated graphics drivers Intel for XP, form the Web from Toshiba site and also have the latest version of the BIOS.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you very much
    Paul

    Hello paul

Your Tecra M10 has DVI port?
Replicator port is not some sort of converter and it will be just a loop through the signal directly from the laptop.
If the computer laptop doesn t supports DVI output you cannot expect to get signal from the port replicator.

  • Dell U2414H and Display port to DVI cable

    Hello.

Have a U2414H monitor I need to connect to a Dell T1700 purchased with a videocard of Nvidia K2000 added. I need to use the connector of the video card. 2 display ports will be for an another U2414H monitor and a HDMI TV for meetings. I have a Display port to DVI cable and I try to use it from the Dell U2414H monitor and am out of luck. I can't seen to find info if DP supports the U2414H monitors to DVI cables. Has anyone else got it to work? I tried the DVI port on the PC with HP monitors and they worked. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • DisplayPort to DVI adapter is generic Non - PNP monitor

I have a 6 week old want H8 - 1420 T C1U69AV #ABA, Windows 8 64 bit, 1 GB Radeon HD7670 and I am trying to connect two Dell 1905FP monitors. Each monitor works fine when it is connected to the DVI port. When I connect a monitor with an adapter HP DisplayPort / DVI dongle, the system reports it as a generic Non - PNP monitor and the screen remains black. I tried the adapter on another system, and it works fine.

I've updated to the new '8.982.10.1800 Rev A January 3, 2013' driver on the HP site, but it did not help. The AMD drivers will not install because it is apparently a video of the ugly step-child card, not a true AMD. If I knew that I would have not purchased with the system.

I have the original of the 1905FP CD when I bought it and it isn't a driver file on this subject (no need of one with XP). When the monitors work, they are each reported as a 1905FP.

    Someone at - it suggestions?

Thanks for the suggestion, but this has been resolved over the weekend. I was using a passive adapter Displayport to DVI. I replaced it with a Startech DP2DVIS active adapter Displayport to DVI and that did the trick.

  • U2414H - problem with DP and DVI dual monitor

We recently bought 10 monitors x U2414H with 5 machines Dell Precision T1700 each with a Nvidia Quadro K620 x 2 GB graphics card (1 x output DP) and 1 x output DVI.

When advised on these machines, we were also told to the DVI work with our monitor, we would need special cable conversion so learned the order of 5 x DisplayPort (male) to DVI - D (male) cable. At the time to take delivery of our new machines, it became that there was a problem with the configuration that we had been sold. When you connect the first monitor to the billboards on the graphics card, it works fine. However, the problem is when you plug the 2nd monitor, nothing is displayed when it is connected to the graphics card DVI port.

We also called Dell technical support and our account manager to try to solve the problem and they suggested using a HDMI DVI-cables rather than the DVI cable to DP that we sold would not work because of the output frequency. After receiving the 5 x new DVI-cables HDMI question still exists and is no different from before. To remove the graphics card or DVI output being at fault we connected to another single monitor using a DVI to DVI cable and it worked.

Reading through some of the similar positions, it seems that the monitor that we have been delivered is not the good revision number. I've seen a forum member Dell advises that the revision number should be REV A03 while we have been delivered REV A01.

Any advice on what we should do to solve this problem will be greatly appreciated.

    EDIT: Added required information

    * What is the serial number of 20-digit alphanumeric monitor?
    CN - 03415 X-74261-4AT - 116L
    * What is the revision number (A00, A01, etc.)? A01
    * This specific computer model, portable office/computer? Dell Precision T1700
    * What operating system? Windows 8.1
    * Which video card? NVIDIA Quadro K620 2 GB graphics card
    * Which ports are available for the video card? 1 x DVI 1 x DisplayPort
    * Which video output port are you using video card for video on the port monitor? DVI to HDMI and DisplayPort / Mini DisplayPort
    * What cable are you using to set the video card to the monitor? DVI (male) to HDMI (male) & DisplayPort (male) to HDMI (male)

If your Dell account manager allows it, go to the AMD over-pants W4100 would be a good step to solve this.

  • U3011, No 2560 x 1600 using apple CDM CDM Surface Pro 2 and DVI to DVI?

Question: Is it true that the only way to get to 2560 x 1600 on the U3011 via the DisplayPort connection? This seems to be my experience. I have a MacBook Pro 15 of retina and a Surface Pro 2. Each of them will connect to the U3011 and provide 2560 x 1600 if and only if the DisplayPort monitor connection. When I try to connect via the DVI - D dual link brand cables off the max 1600 x 1200 resolution. VGA even go higher than that. But not the DVI - D, even tried different cables. (I can't find not the DVI - D cable supplied with the monitor.) Anyway, this seems to demonstrate that the question is not a driver problem, because it is compatible on Mac and Windows - computers that run the latest drivers and updates to the OS. Here'S THE BEST: the MANUAL provides 2560 x 1600 is available on BOTH DVI and DisplayPort inputs digital signal. Anyone can shed some light on this? Thank you

Let me guess... you use one of the mini from Apple DisplayPort to DVI connectors to connect the display to your computer?

It is $ 99, one model dual link DVI (http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB571Z/A/mini-displayport-to-dual-link-dvi-adapter) or standard (single link) model (http://store.apple.com/us/product/M9321G/B/apple-mini-dvi-to-dvi-adapter)?

You need double link to get more than 1920 x 1200 on DVI - and each DP dual link DVI adapter is active (and therefore expensive). The screen is fine, in fact I type these lines very on just using DVI screen just what the resolution of 2560 x 1600.

Unless it has a USB port to the power adapter, you will not get the full resolution - which is not a limitation of the display, but a limitation of the DP to DVI adapters.

  • HP Pavilion 500-277C Desktop P: DVI Port does not

    Second Montor doesn't work-

I bought my HP Pavilion in November 2014 with two 27xi of HP monitors.  One is plugged into my VGA, the other into my port DVI port.  Well worked, until today.  MY DVI monitor is black.  I swapped the VGA DVI on the back of the monitors.  The issue moved to the other monitor (DVI cable), I checked the Device Manager and 1 single monitor is showon.  I did the updates of the pilot, no help.  When the computer starts, the DVI monitor is a different color and shows no signal, so I suspect the computer.  Thanks for any help.

    Hello

If DVI does not work then try a known good DVI - D cable.

As test, just try to use one monitor via DVI.

Thanks for posting on the forum.

  • Running 3 monitors, 2 card Radeon 5450 and 1 port of the motherboard

I have a p7-1154 HP which has two DVI ports on the motherboard, but I needed to run a third monitor so I installed a HP 5450 PCI Radeon card that has a DVI, HDMI and VGA port, but I can use only 2 of them at the time - or DVI, VGA or HDMI, and VGA. Motherboard ports don't work at all now, so I'm in the same place that I was before I even bought the video card. I was under the impression that I would be able to use existing DVI ports on the motherboard as well as DVI/HDMI and VGA video card port together... How can I get there?

    Thank you very mucho.

    Daniel

My friend, welcome to the forum.

Here is the Product Specifications page for the computer.  If you look at the section titled "Integrated graphics", you will notice that it says the following: * integrated video is not available if a graphics card is installed.  Therefore, there is no way to use a third-party monitor.

  • Portege R500 - anyone using the DVI Port Replicator II on WIndows 7 Beta?

    Hello
I'm using the beta version of WIndows 7 on my R500 and runnig it's just well except the DVI Port (on the Port Replicator II Slim).
I have installed this software Fingreprint, battery bluetooth (which are recommended as a solution by the Action Center) and the 'TOSHIBA value added together"which adds the management software of power supply, control over the 2 hardware buttons and gives the FN menu to the screen to control the functions FN1-9.
I think I can say it's definatively a driver problem, because if I start the R500, the windows loading screen appears on my screen, but when he switches to the desktop, the external screen turns off and the desktop on the screen of the laptop. Also, no chance to activate via FN + F5.
I tried with the driver Windows 7 buildin, the latest driver from intel (15.8.3) and the vista driver provided by toshiba (7.14.10.1244), but none of them work: (unlucky
BTW: the vga output works, but only UNdocked :(
Does anyone have a solution or a tip what to do or try?

    Hello!

First of all, I have to say that Windows 7 Beta is as its name the indicates that a beta so there might be some problems and it s not sure that everything works fine with Windows 7 Beta.

Your problem: you see the second monitor in the display settings? There you can active it and mark the option extend my Windows desktop on this monitor.

Lastly but not the least you should do an update of the BIOS if you have n t the latest version.

    Good bye
