U2415, Latitude E7440, E-Dock, chaining

I'm trying to monitor Dell U2415 Garland two since a Dell E-dock with a Dell Latitude E7440 using Dell DisplayPort cables.

I activated PD 1.2 on the first monitor and disabled on the last. Both monitors appeared on the topology of DisplayPort, but both monitors also show a message saying that no computer, and then they go in the mode 'sleep'. Curiously, the menus for both screens are now unnacessible and I can neither turn on or off 1.2 DP. All I can do is to select the input source. The monitors do not work now if I connect the both as unique display.

Is something chaining that only is not supported by this brand of monitor Dell or these special Dell monitors would be defective?

The monitors are not defective and are supported by the DP Garland. Not all E series docking stations will make the wreath of DP. You look at the specifications of your dock docking station see.

Docking station 2

Docking station 3

In your case, the Garland of DP does not, so you must do this on page 29 to unlock.
"Repeat the steps above to change the parameter back to DP 1.1 if necessary."

I would like to test without your dock =
Latitude E7440 back CDM on--> mDP to DP cable--> #1 U2415 DP (DP 1.2) in active
#1 U2415 DP on--> CDM DP cable--> 2 # U2415 CDM in (1.2 DP disabled)

Hello. I searched around an answer to this question, but nothing helped. I have one of the new Ultrabooks from Dell; (Latitude E7440) and cannot get my drive hard Portal USB3 to work with USB3 ports. I also have a new Dell E-Port Replicator (dock) with USB3 ports.

    Example of the question:

    • USB3 HARD disk plugged into one of the laptops USB3 ports - powers of the HDD upwards, but Windows does not detect the drive is plugged in hard.
    • USB3 HARD disk plugged into one of the ports USB3 - same symptoms docks.
    • USB3 HARD disk plugged into one of the ports, docks USB2 - HDD works fine but Windows reports that he could run faster (IE speed USB3)
    • USB3 Flash drive plugged into any port USB3 - works fine.
    • All USB2 devices work in all USB ports on the computer laptop and E-Port Replicator.

    Performed troubleshooting:

    • Reinstalled drivers USB3 Hub on the site of Dell
    • Tested my HARD drive on another PC (not Dell) works very well on the USB3 ports.

Any ideas? I have googled and find people with similar problems, but no final solution.

    Hi ELPAICO,

You are not sure if you have already found an answer to this? I recently had the same laptop and I must say there is some "energy saving" options which are a pain - for example the way Windows disables Mobile broadband...

On the question of the USB - I had the same problem, what I have found to solve the problem:

-Of your Options of selective feeding-> settings-> USB USB suspend-> disable all the

-Use the USB port on the right side back of the laptop, when you are facing it (dunno why this works well)

  • Latitude E7440 - sound does not come with a helmet

    Hello world

I have a laptop Dell Latitude E7440 8.1 Windows running. I had problems with no sound coming with headphones plugged in the headphone jack (its only comes through the built-in Laptop speakers). I tried several fixes including:

-Definition of headset as default playback device (my laptop groups speakers and headphones together, is not possible to choose one over the other).

-Remove the battery, now hold the power for 30 seconds, turn it back on

    -Update Realtek Audio driver

-Uninstall the Realtek Audio driver (and deletion of files), and then restart the computer for the native audio driver is used.

I had the most success with the help of the native audio driver (after deleting and uninstalling Realtek). However, when I do this, I have from both headphones and speakers of the laptop. This will work for a day or two, then I'll start to have no sound from the headset again (despite running the native audio driver).

I don't know if it's a hardware or a software problem. I don't think it's a hardware problem, since I am able to get the headset to some working hours. Are there new ideas or advice? I'm debating getting a USB adapter for my helmet, but I don't know which would solve the problem if it's a software problem.

Thanks for the help in advance!

I'm debating getting a USB adapter for my helmet, but I don't know which would solve the problem if it's a software problem.

The usb sockets are very expensive and me would be worth the risk that it might not work. You could test the hardware failure (or repair the software if it's a software problem) by resetting the laptop back to the factory setting original, but for many people it is worth some money to try and avoid would do that.

Usually when the headphones are not detected by the driver from Realtek but are when you use the native driver, the solution is to completely remove the software Realtek, the way you did and then install an earlier version of the Realtek driver. However, it is difficult to understand the symptoms of your laptop. Normally if there is the same symptom with pilot of the provider and the native driver, which is strongly evocative of hardware failure because both pilots are not likely to have the same bug at the same time. In your case, but I wouldn't bet on it anyway.

  • Dell Latitude E7440 CPU speed capped after sleep

My laptop Dell Latitude E7440 provided with Windows 8.1 at the time wherever I bought it. I did not notice this problem until I upgraded to Windows 10.

Sometimes, when I put the laptop to sleep and resume at a later date, the speed of the CPU is limited to all about 0.78 GHz and switching to High Performance mode won't help. The computer becomes very slow and the only way to solve this reboot.

I have the latest version of the BIOS installed (A15) and the other drivers are also updated.

I've seen other threads saying that the problem is to use Dell Power companion but I do not use it. I have 2 power adapters that I use with this laptop, one of them is a Dell 90W Adapter. I'm not sure about the other that I don't have it right now, but an original came with the laptop.

Any temporary/permanent fix for this? Thank you.

I solved this problem. Downgrade BIOS A01 and updated step by step each single release - A01 > A02 > A03... > A15. Now, I'm on A15 BIOS and there is no problem with CPU after suspension. I7-4600u, W8.1 x 64.

  • Problem with Latitude E7440, dock E-series & external monitors

    Hello

I just upgraded to a to an E7440 E6410. I have two Dell 2007FP monitors connected via DVI on a docking station E-series E-Port Plus. These monitors native resolution is 1600 x 1200 @ 60 Hz and my old E6410 was able to run this very well. The new E7440 refuses however to note that 1600 x 1200 is available and that there is an upper limit of 1280 x 1024 @ 60 and 75 Hz. The Intel graphics properties app shows 1600 x 1200 @ 60 Hz is a mode of the monitor support in the Information Center section, but it won't let me select it in the Display Options section.

Anyone know if it is a fundamental limitation of the docking on the new connector 7000 series or if I just have something wrong set somewhere? All the drivers are up to date for what is the Dell support site is... The computer is running Windows 7 64 bit if that makes a difference.

    Thanks & best regards,

    Martin

Sorry - should have come back earlier than my IT guy at work found the "fix." There is a updated driver that is for the E7440 but doesn't show up if you are looking for updates of E7440 (?). In any case, I had the drivers are required to:

While the link is E5540 area, the driver is for the GPU Intel HD4400 located in the E7440 as well. This has fixed the problem on all the E7440s that we have here.

    Hello

I have a U2713HM connected via an E7440 Latitude docking station. My problem is that the resulution more I got is 1920 x 1080. How can I get 2560 x 1440?

  • Latitude 10 - ST2 Dock HDMI problems

I just pulled up on my docking station and found that it worked perfectly out of the box.  Unlike some others who have had problems, I felt lucky until I tried to get the HDMI to work with my Dell monitor.

It's about that simple, the monitor does not detect a device and the device does not detect an HDMI monitor.  I've updated the BIOS and drivers Intel for the latest versions from today and still nothing.  I'd appreciate any advice or experiences like mine that could help me to get this resolved.

Quick update on my situation.  I was able to get the dock running after realizing that you cannot convert HDMI in Display Port, only the opposite.  My monitor DELL Professional is not HDMI, there a display Port.  Not sure who came up with this idea, but it seems that HDMI is a standard that is good enough to not have to create another.

In any case, I was using a HDMI Display Port adapter--> and after reading upwards, is that you can convert only the signal in a way.  Turns out the other way, of what I was trying.  If you have a video card that has a display out Port, you can use this adapter to convert to HDMI.  I do in fact with another computer of mine.  However, if you have a monitor with a Display Port, you can not convert HDMI Port to display in this way.

Anyway, I ended up finding a DVI switch and turned the HDMI/DVI monitor and everything works fine.  It's a little weird for the signal on the screen, but as you mention, if you start the camera on the dock, it seems to detect the signal.  Without that, it seems random as to if the signal is getting sent to the monitor.  Sometimes, the monitor just says not: 'no signal' until I have restart the device.

Thank you all for the contributions.

  • Latitude E7440 display goes black / white after "starting Windows."

I suspect that he is an out-of-the-box issue (like the power button lights, either), but maybe I'm missing something... This particular unit fired upward, as planned and took our standard image. Somewhere along the way (probably during one of its reboots), I noticed that the screen is out. Turn down and the back didn't solve it, or don't have reset the BIOS. Dell diags run without problem and I can start Windows in Mode safe... but whenever I start Windows normally, it removes after "Starting Windows" flashes by.

AARRGGHH! I'm kicking myself. It was something I discovered some time ago and since then I forgot... I had stacked them! I have closed an E7440, placed another on top of it and proceeded to the image of this second unit. At some point, I must have changed it so slightly... put it right above all that the devil is in the cover of the display of the unit of the first! (A magnetic field, is my guess). And "in white" is the second display unit... hit the light of the power button, and as a bonus. It worked as planned, when I moved this unit to another place, in order to tap into a flat HDMI. And it is blanked, as soon as I put back it on top of the first E7440. Mystery solved.

  • U2713HM, Latitude D630, D/Dock, No 2560 x 1440 in DVI?

    Hello

I recently bought a Dell U2713HM and I have a Dell D630 with video card Nvidia Quadro NVS135m running Win7 32 bit. I put the laptop on a PR01X docking station. I'm using the supplied DVI cable and DVI port on the port replicator, but I don't get the native resolution. Is there something I don't know? In the meantime, I use the VGA port with a resolution of 2048 x 1152, but I expect DVI - D to work.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

    Peter

    DELL-Chris M

    petertoth,

The older D/Dock and D/Port DVI docking port stations is not DVI - D Dual Link. It is DVI - D Single Link. If you can't do anything higher than the resolution of the unique link.

    Hi Chris,

Thanks for the info. Why is it then a Dual link connector in the back? Also what is the connector on the bottom of the laptop limiting to only link or port replicator?

    Thank you

  • E7440 latitude: Wake-on-Lan works when the laptop is turned off, but not when it's put into hibernation

I have a Latitude E7440 running a clean install of Windows 10. If the computer has been stopped, I can use a Wake - On - Lan Magic Packet to the MAC address of the Ethernet port (as described here) to turn the computer back on. But if the computer is in hibernation, it does not work.

Probably, it is that when the computer is in hibernation the link on my switch light is off, but when it is stopped, the link light is on.

So my question is: How can I get this phone to maintain the LAN port when hibernation, in the same way on shutdown? Thanks in advance.

  • Latitude E7450 processor and controller, E - 2, unstable configuration port of the U2715H - two monitors-

I have two monitors U2715H connected via a CDM-> DP cable each to a docking station E-Port Plus (in fact an Advanced Port Replicator EURO2) in which sits a laptop Latitude E7450 processor and controller. All items are brand new. E7450 processor and controller is equipped with 16 GB of RAM and two graphics cards: Intel HD 5500 Graphics and NVIDIA GeForce 840 M; selection is automatic, which usually means that the 5500 is running. It runs Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 (64-bit). The docking station has apparently DP 1.2 a capacity (for chaining) but DP 1.2 is disabled in both monitors.

I have correctly configured the system to have Windows desktop space both monitors at 2560 x 1440 resolution, even with screen internal latitude as a third request for an extension to its full resolution (1920 x 1080). The main screen can be set to one of the two (or three) and I can successfully move the sequence of monitors around (left, middle, right).

There is therefore no doubt about the ability of the system to support the planned configuration. However, when I dock the Latitude (most with the lid closed) and start, most of the time he is unable to restore the configuration of the two external monitors. Some of the symptoms are: one or two monitors go black, indicating the cable connected but no signal from the docking station. If there is a picture on one of the monitors at startup, it may or may not contain the login screen. (I can still log in because I know which keystrokes to send.) If the login screen is visible, it is usually in low resolution. If I have several active screens, but one is black, I can move the mouse pointer (or an entire window) on the screen black (in the middle or on the side), but it is not visible here.

Both monitors come right out of the box and the only change I made is to move from the DP to the mDP as input channel. I reinstalled the cables and exchanged the cables between the two DPs on the docking station. I turned the market monitors. I ran the self-test the requirements on both monitors. The connection of the laptop on the docking station is a little wobbly, but I use the spacer provided for the E7450 processor and controller and making sure the connection is correct and stable. I've updated all the drivers and BIOS of processors E7450 and controller. I recently saw a reference to a BIOS for the docking station; I didn't know it existed, but I'm not.

The installation instructions provided with the monitors were a note on consulting the CD provided for the use of the screen to maximum resolution. E7450 processor and controller is not an optical drive, but I read all of the documentation for the monitor to Support technical without finding what whatsoever to shed light on the situation (in addition to ensure that the graphics card and drivers are up to the task).

Once I connected, I can manage to make it all in order by randomly (?) lower the resolution of the screen, change the position of the main screen (left-center-right), deselection reselection CDM as entry way and forcing other changes. Once the two or all three screens in operation, I can put them all to maximum resolution and beginning of work. However, it is rather annoying and I would like to have a stable configuration.

The configuration seems to survive power cycling of the laptop / station but not if I also disconnect the laptop. I should mention that when I detach the E7450 processor and controller, I can use it in other configurations, with or without other external monitors through other ports, before turning it off and later re - anchor as described. However, for the first month I had two old non-moniteurs Dell of any resolution (on DVI and VGA ports) connected to the docking station and the configuration is stable, and for years I used for my older Latitude with a docking station that is older, remembering his device between different hardware configurations.

Please, someone - and Dell support staff in particular?

    Hi dwells1957,

Thanks for the post! Looks like you might have the USB receiver connected to the USB ports on the back of the system? While anchored feature transfers E7440 of ports at the back of the unit to the Wharf (by disabling these ports).

Rear ports Latitude E7440 & E7240 system are disabled when it is docked on an E-port I / II or E-port Plus I / II

Not officially.   You can load on it although if you try to load a place 713 x on ST2 platform you might encounter problems due to the lower voltage adapter.   If you simply reload while not using it, you should be OK.   If you are actively using the device that you could actually see the battery draining even while on the dock. Some ports will work, others do not.    Original plan was to support, but the issue of the tension which has killed so full support has never been added/tested/claimed.
