    Hello

Sure enough. I even downloaded and extract the Windows 7 drivers to see if there is evidence of support for XP, but it was not.

You can always try to install the Windows 7 drivers to see what is happening. But I expect that the installation routine will check for a valid operating system.

  • driver for VGA video controller adaptable

    Hi all

I have configured my computer Inspiron 518 to do a dual boot: Windows XP and Windows 7 originally, it came with Windows Vista , and that's what the machine is registered with.  My problem is I'm trying to update the driver for my video controller (VGA adaptable) for Windows XP but support Dell recommends only drivers for Vista.  How to find and download the drivers appropriate for the OS?  Would appreciate any comments on this problem.
    Thank you.

If Dell does not have XP drivers, your best bet/bet is to visit the site of the manufacturer of the chipset for a generic driver.

Check in Windows 7 for the manufacturer and model/chipset in the Device Manager and go to the site looking for XP drivers.

  • 10 XPS for VGA projector

Has anyone successfully found a way to connect the Tablet 10 XPS to a VGA projector/monitor?

It seems the most likely option would be a mini-hdmi to vga converter, but I would like it confirmed that a person has obtained that it works before you buy anything.

Thank you very much for your help!

The max that I can choose is 64 MB, what is the difference between PCI and AGP video cards? It would be better for the HDTV display and work better with limited system memory? Thanks, Deb

Deb, AGP is a newer technology and is considerably faster than the PCI ports.  So I suggest an AGP video card.  Now, that being said, I am not sure how well the computer will run with an HDTV because HP supports only 1 GB of system memory.  Additionally, make sure that the power supply unit (PSU) has enough power to run the card you choose correctly.  You can check the wattage in opening the case and by reading the label on the power supply.  The minimum power requirements should be available on the manufacturer's website.

  • U2415, a VGA and DVI video card?

    Hello

We recently bought 4 u2415 dell screens for our company's graphic design team, I am a manger IT to my company, but the screen was not given by me and we encountered a problem linking them. The video card has only 1 single VGA port and a DVI port and because of this, I bought several adapters and cables to try to connect these monitors but I still can't get no signal, please help, I'm a little before I sent monitors to the advertiser. For VGA, I bought an active adapter convert it that HDMI port, I connect via dp to hdmi cable and get still no signal. For DVI, I bought a dp cable dvi and im still getting no signal. Please tell me what is wrong and if have a little chance to connect these monitors today before im refer to them.

The cables you bought are designed to go to DP to HDMI or DVI monitor video card. You can't go back.

The U2415 of the maximum resolution is 1920 x 1200 60Hz.So forget using the U2415 DP or CDM. The cheapest solution is this =

  • Connect the TV (with sound) and monitor for Optiplex 390

    Here is my system info:

    OptiPlex 390 small footprint

    Windows 7 64 bit

    Intel Chipset H61

Intel HD 2000 (with HDMI and VGA) graphics card

Map of AMD Radeon 6350 512 MB video (with 2 DVI splitter)

I need to connect 1) HD TV with the sound via HDMI and 2) monitor via VGA to this system (no sound).  I did a lot of research on the Internet but can't find a definitive answer if my system will support both views.  Can anyone confirm if one of the three options below does not work, or any other ideas?

Option 1: remove AMD card, connect the HDMI TV, connect the VGA monitor.  I've seen conflicting information if the HDMI and VGA ports can be connected at the same time.

Option 2: Connect TV: dispatcher--> DVI HDMI adapter DVI-->--> TV, monitor connect a HDMI cable: dispatcher DVI DVI VGA adapter--> monitor-->.  It should work, but if someone can confirm if the AMD Radeon 6350 supports audio through DVI to TV?

3rd possibility: buy another video with HDMI and VGA card.  I'd rather not spend more money... I have six systems to connect!

Thank you in advance for your help!

    Hi Ozone72,

Intel HD Graphics 2000 which was shipped with OptiPlex 390 supports two independent screens. Which means that you can connect TV for VGA and HDMI monitor, so that AMD card must be removed from the computer.

Please try it and return back if it worked.

  • HP PL4260N: pl4260n

I have a HP Plasma HDTV and recently she attached to my old desktop PC with Windows 10 to use for streaming video, such as a DVD player and a secondary computer station, but I don't get optimal resolution on the screen.  HP doesn't have a driver for this monitor, so Windows has failed to a generic PnP Monitor driver.

Previously with this PC, I used a Samsung HDMI monitor with resolution of 1928 X 1620, attached using an adapter DVI - D and has a beautiful display.   This TV has a single HDMI that is dedicated to the cable box, so I joined the monitor to the computer with a power supply of PC monitor.  Windows 10 tells me the "best resolution" to this 1024 X 768 monitor, but this isn't reallly live up to 1080i TV net. My AMD graphic card will allow me to use 1928 x 1620, but the image is too large for the screen (i.e. start and taskbar are out of the picture).

Someone has suggestions for a "native" driver I could use, or a different resolution that I could try to get a video experience and better graphics? ".  Other solutions welcome, too.

    Hi Geekster,
I tried your solutions, but no update has helped. So I returned to the TV manual, find the highest resolution for VGA interface which was 1368 x 768. Then I used the display settings > advanced settings to set manually the adapter AMD-1368 x 768 Mode. Phew! It worked. Spent the rest of the afternoon binge on Downton Abbey in HD thanks for trying.

  • I get a 0x000000003b System_Service_Exception shortly after starting... (graphics driver as possible, external drive possible?)

    Not quite sure the cause.

I was in the shower, my wife tried using my computer and he went to two monitors go black screen. I hardbooted he took.  When he started my vga monitor showed the charger of the bios, the loader of windows, then double black screen for about 10 seconds and then it restarts.

I reboot with only the vga is plugged, I started having chkdisk running on one of my external USB drives.  I'd get to the user interface of connection and choose profile admin / default and before the screen goes to the office is blue screen with the error above, 10 seconds passes, it restarts.

I unplug my external drives and still only vga, (and he only ran chkdisk on just an external, not both my references external and not on one of my internals 2.)  and boot it - I get to connection ui - i can choose my profile or my profile comments/woman and he goes to the Office - until it finish loading all the stuff of taskbar, bluescreens on me, the same error and restarts after 10 seconds.

I start and go to safemode still only vga, I get desktop on my profile but safemode is no way to really "use" a computer. It is stable, so I hope someone nice enough here can help me recover.

    More moderately Pertinant.

    Its Windows Vista 64-bit Acer
4 GB shared video and system
    NVIDIA 9200 series card
    AMD Phenom triple core
    BESTFIT VGA resolution is 1440 x 900
BESTFIT connection Polaroid HDMI HDTV resolution is 1920 x 1080
The HDMI is normally my main video screen

for these 2-3 weeks I stayed on my profile, have restarted, there a few times and everythings been groovy.
About 2-3 weeks ago, I updated a bunch of patches, one of them being my nvidia drivers.  -THAT was a huge problem.

I had the HDMI connected only at the time of the update. After the update - it defined the default resolution as 13xxby768.  My TV do not like this resolution and cannot evolve in it - so it glitches out my TV and says he has a resolution of 1 p. It also disabled supported dual monitor after the patch, if it is used to run monitors separate dualview.  I had to unplug hdmi, vga only in.  change it back to its best fit of 1440 x 900.  the driver blasted nvidia won't let you set resolutions for screens nonhooked upward, and it won't let you turn on dualview without these two things hung or cloneview.  so I flew over my mouse of choice of resolution area, removed the vga, plugged into the socket hdmi, clicked on a random selection and press ctrl + A to apply it. Once the monitor flickered and remained black, I knew I had an another nonscaleable to resolution, I hit down arrow, ctrl + has once again and got on my second try - a few ridiculous low resolution, then put to scale up his goodness was 1080 p best.  Since that time, I wasn't going to the profile of my wife.

I think that its possible she hit my making usb cable unplugged the external hard drive.  Or it may have been when she has "changed the user" instead of "disconnecting" as repeatedly, telling him not "change user" he had a huge conflict with trying to keep my resolution and possibly default resolutions on their profile which has been forced by the patch (but does not explain why I can return to my office with nothing connected for a few seconds and it's good resolution for vga).

I tried to read other messages on this forum and it seems that this may be associated with two graphics cards and removal of hard drives.  However, all the stuff on the disassembly of the drives appeared to apply to the winserver 2003, however, I could be wrong.  I wish myself a an extremely capable user but the drivers and hardware are 1up me.  Thanks a lot in advance to anyone who can help me.  If I need to do a dump or something, to give you more information, would you please tell me how to do this - I know very well my way around safe mode.

  • Decent DIM 4600 video card update

I'm looking for an upgrade of the decent video card for my 2003 4600 Dimension that will allow me to play Warhammer 40 k Dawn of War (and all it's... expansion packs (3 in total).  I'm not a serious PC gamer, I play most of the video games on Xbox 360.  I don't have to spend a lot of money on a new card, but I'd like to get one that will certainly on these games and the increase might be a graphic overall quality on my system.  I read many forums here on Dell Support and led to these options for maps (XFX GeForce 7600 GS / 512MB GDDR2 / AGP 8 x / DVI / VGA / HDTV / video card, EVGA GeForce 7300 GT / 512 MB DDR2 / AGP 8 x / DVI / VGA / HDTV / video card, EVGA GeForce 6200 / 256MB DDR / AGP 8 x / DVI / VGA / TV-Out / video card, Sparkle GeForce 7600 GS card - 256 MB DDR2) , AGP 8 X, DVI, VGA, HDTV

I am aware that the requirements for WH40K require only 128 MB of Ram with minimum settings, so I figure that if I move up to 256 MB or 512 MB, it can't hurt... or wrong?  As I said I know virtually nothing about video cards and am looking for something decent to play the game and a general modernization of my system.  I heard that there are some compatibility with different card manufacturers used on Dell computers... any help here would be great also!

I also have a question from noob re: DVD-ROM... I understand that I will have need of a dvd - rom drive to play WH40K DOW... they seem to be relatively inexpensive and I intend to have bought one and have installed with my new video card.  OK, here's the noob question: will be a dvd - rom dvd movies game (ie: netflix, or rent from the library)? or will I need another dvd drive all the toghther?  (also appreciated recommendations)
