Unable to connect satellite C55 - A WLAN

Hi, I am unable to connect to my WIFI.

My router has been zapped in recent storms and talktalk sent me a replacement. While setting up, I decided to change the ssid and the psk.

The new router but not my Satellite C55A will connect other devices in our home (laptop, desktop and Tablet). He can see the new ssid but when I enter the psk it gives the message "unable to connect to this network. I have win 8.1 ar956x, driver atheros wireless network adapter is 10.0.0.263.

Any suggestions?

It is really strange. Normally it should not be a problem. When the WIFI network is detected, all you need to do is put the correct password.
Have you checked all the WLAN settings on your machine?

Is there a possibility to test with another WLAN from your friend, just to see if the problem is the same?

    Hello

I think that you didn t try updates. Right?
Therefore, my first recommendation would be an update of the BIOS and driver WLan.

Check the current version of the BIOS that is available on your laptop. If the latest version has been released then update the BIOS.
In addition, to download the latest WLan driver from the Toshiba WLan portal and to update:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

On this Wlan site, you will find three different WLan drivers for three types of WLan cards. First check your wireless network card, and then use the right driver!

  • Unable to connect to internet wireless - WLAN card non - Satellite Pro M10

Hi, I just got a second hand toshiba satellite pro M10 and I just of him relandscaped and put windows xp home edition on it. What I would like to be able to do is to connect to my network wireless of families so that I can get rid of all the cables on the floor. My laptop seems to think that there is no wireless card installed well. Now, I had the same problem with the lan cable, but I went on the tosibas Web site and downloaded a patch and update the driver in Device Manager. I am not able to do it with the wireless as there are no drivers to download for it and there is apparently no for this device in the Device Manager. Could someone please help me and tell me what to do and how I can download a patch or fix the problem. Thank you, Andrew Reid

    Hello

first of all, have you installed the drivers according to the installation instructions?
If this is not the case, this can cause problems.

When you see the wireless card works correctly in the Device Manager, check if you get a signal of any router. If there is nothing the card WLAN is defective, or the router works with another standard (a, b, g).

  • Unable to connect satellite P10 - 873 to 802.11 Wlan N Router

    I can't get my P10 873 to work with my 802.11n router.
The current Protocol inside this laptop's 802.11 g.

In my view, there is a way to reconfigure the settings, but my knowledge is lacking in this area.
Everybody out there is able to offer advice, or do I need a new laptop computer?

    Hello

You can't connect the laptop via a WLAN router 802.11 N because the card wifi does not support this standard WLan!

As you mentioned the wireless network adapter supports 802.11 G and it's different from 802.11 N

Therefore, change the Wlan standard in the configuration of the router for 802.11 G in order to connect to the laptop wireless.

  • Unable to connect to secure the WLAN with Satellite L30

I just bought my laptop L30 and use that in a few hours. I have a frustrating problem that was annoying me:
I have a model number of the wireless modem/router (+ 2 years) belkin F5D7360 - my wireless network. My router is configured with a SSID and configured to use the 11g and 11B modes.

Connect to my network without wire in unsafe mode works very well. So it's not a thing g 11 or 11 b...

As soon as I turn on security: WPA-Personal, PKIP encryption - the machine does not connect. Windows detects the network but when I try to connect - it returns an error saying authentication has expired - check the network settings. Several attempts that windows automatically diagnose and repair the problem does not work.

I've rechecked, triple checked all the setting. Even changed passwords. Still no joy.

It isn't the network installation - as when I connect with my Belkin 54g PCMCIA card - it works fine. Of course, I want to use the built-in... wireless and I want my network to be sure.

To basic family support of Windows Vista Edition that comes with the package.

I'm quite a techie, but this is my first experience with Vista - and Toshiba laptop.
Currently, I'm stuck and eager to solve this annoying problem.

    Any ideas?

    Hello

Have you noticed the same behavior, use a WEP encryption? I have goggled a bit, but I wasn't able to find any info on this Belkin router.

Please try to reboot the router and try to connect WLAN again.

  • Unable to connect satellite Pro 6000 network

I would appreciate help on this. We have a Toshiba Satellite Pro 6000, which we assumed is active wireless. But when you turn on the wireless switch, there is no answer and the laptop will not come to look for me or any other network.

I was able to connect using a USB wireless adapter, but it seems a shame not to use the capacity of the machine itself. Any suggestions? And I'm just thinking wireless is standard with this model. If not what can I do about it?

    Hello

Please check in Device Manager if the WLAN card is listed under network adapters. As far as I know the WLAN card for this camera is optional and it is not standard.

  • Satellite A500 - 03P: unable to connect to the WLan using Win 7 + event message

    Hi all

I recently bought the Satellite A500 with the offer included Windows7 while he was available late October 09.

So I had the Toshibe DVD for the upgrade and followed the steps and Visa home premium upgrade to Windows 7. Now I have two questions.

    (1) I get a system event Notification after start, talk to me about the system event log. The full message is below.

Unable to connect to a windows service
Windows could not connect to the System Event Notification service. This problem prevents limited users to logon to the system. As an administrator, you can view the system event log to see why the service failed

    (2) I was able to use this laptop for the internet before the upgrade, both via a USB wireless drive as well to the office via a DSL modem.
Now I can't access the internet after the upgarde of Windows 7!

For example the Optus dial-up box pop up appears commandeLorsque I click on 'connect', it does not connect.

    Can anyone help please?

    Thank you
    C I

    Hey Buddy,

    (1) did you check the Configuration of the Service for this service? The Boot System Event Notification Service type must always be set to automatic. This service is absolutely necessary for Windows and shouldn't t be disabled or set to manual startup type.
    Check it!

    (2) to be honest I never heard on the internet BEFORE, but normally, it should also be possible to access the Internet with Windows 7.
Make sure that the WLAN or LAN card is installed properly and check the TCP/IP settings. If you are missing some driver you can get on the page of Toshiba.

  • Satellite Pro P200 WLAN: unable to connect

    Hello

I use a Satellite Pro PC. When he starts a 'ball' in the system status bar tells me something like "available wireless networks". With ConfigFree / top I see the name of my wireless LAN is displayed. But when I try to view the available list of WLANS I get something like "No WLAN autour"! Everything else seems OK.
I tried everything: turn off, uninstall the card wireless driver update... NOTHING!

Please, can someone prevent me from going crazy?

    Stone

Generally avoid any problem to use WLAN on your laptop. Everything you need to do is activate the wireless card, Windows option to see all available wireless and connect to your favorite WLAN networks.

Can you please tell us what OS you are using? Do you use original OS that you got with your laptop or Win7 maybe?

Someone at - it clues on this?

  • Satellite Pro L50 - B - unable to connect at 5 GHz Wi - Fi

    Hello

I just bought a new Satellite Pro L50 - B and it is unable to connect to the wifi of my company 5 GHz network. It connects well to the 2.4 GHz network, but poor performance on network thaat there.

Is it possible to get the L50 - B to work in the 5 GHz range?

    Thank you

    Martin

    Frequency of 5 GHz is supported by 802.11 A and 802.11 N
But if the WLan module is not compatible 802.11 A, then the standard 802.11 N will operate at 2.4 Ghz

The question is: what are the standards WLan are supported by the integrated WLan module?

    Which module WLan is integrated?
