Unable to connect to the Internet after installing Windows 7 Ultimate
Hi, I installed a new Solid State Drive and with it, a new copy of Windows 7 Ultimate.
The original HP Pavilion Slimline s5-1114 supplied with Windows 7 Premium. After installation, I was able to install these drivers HP:
57372 - management Engine Interface
57417 original Driver Chipset
58919 HP Support Assistant
65305 - Diagnostic hardware PC
However, the computer gave me an error for these drivers, claiming that my system did not meet the minimum requirements:
57359 - network controller
58084 - wireless Controller
59644 USB Controller
57493-
57506-
57362-
Any suggestions on getting this computer connected to the internet? Right now I am trying to connect via a cat5 cable, and then once it's upward and running, maybe a wi - fi connection. One step at a time...
You are the very welcome.
OK, if your model is not a wireless card.
Need you these two devices what to consider?
These drivers should work...

Unable to connect to the internet after installing the xp of origin on a new hard drive.
I get the message not connected area. I know that the connection is ok because I ask this question on another computer using the same ethernet cable.
Hello
Hold down the Windows (between Ctrl and Alt) key and press the Pause break key. What is stated in the "system:"section (specifically looking for anything that tells you what is your level of service current pack, which will be either 1, 1, 2, 3 or nothing shown)? "
Second, please do the following...
- Click Start
- Click on run
- Type devmgmt.msc and press ENTER, this will open Device Manager window
- Enlarge (click on +) on the section network cards - what is listed?
- Similarly, what is listed under other devices?
In addition, indicate the mark, the serial number and model of your PC, or if it is a custom build, of the brand and model of your motherboard.
I suspect that you have missing drivers after re-installing. These will be available on the PC or motherboard manufacturer's Web site. You may have received a driver CD with the PC that would also contain the drivers.

Unable to connect to the internet after the removal of important processes in the task bar
I am not very tech-savvy then let me explain.
I have a laptop Lenovo I recently bought in August 2014. A friend suggested that I have download the free application "Open Office" in line, so I could open a school power point. Open Office gave me a handful of viruses, which I managed to delete, then having served the system well, panic I accidentally opened the Task Manager and deleted a bunch of processes that are running.
Now, I find that, although I am connected to WiFi, I can't open Internet. I click on Firefox, but it shows that I am unable to connect to the Internet.
I have Windows 8; an easy way I can solve this problem?
Thank you.
Original title: I accidentally turned off the program that allows my computer to connect to the Internet
Hi Tunasushiroll,
Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.
I imagine the inconvenience that you are experiencing and will certainly help you in the right direction to solve the problem.
The problem can occur for various reasons, including incorrect TCP/IP settings configured, firewalls third of anti-virus programs blocking the connection, or due to bad the advanced sharing settings. So, I would suggest trying the following methods and check if you system is able to detect the wireless network.
Method 1:
Run the troubleshooter network first, and then test your Internet connection.
Open the Network Troubleshooter by hitting on any fly in the Dashboard screen, quilting Search(or if you use a mouse, pointing to the top right of the screen, move the mouse down and then clicking search), entering the network troubleshooterin the search box, type, or by clicking settingsand then by typing or clicking on identify and fix network problems.
If the problem persists, try the following method.
Method 2:
Second of all, please check if the WLAN service is started and set to automatic. If it is stopped, then I suggest you to start the service and set it to automatic.
- Press the Windows key + R, type services.msc in the Run dialog box and press ENTER.
- Select the Autoconfiguration WLAN service in the list and double-click it.
- Change the startup to Automatic type, then click Start to start the service.
- Click apply and then click OK.
- Restart the computer and verify if the network is detected. If this is not the case, go to method 3.
Method 3:
Reset the DNS and TCP/IP settings.
- Press the Windows key + X, click prompt (Admin).
- Please enter the following commands and press ENTER after each one.
netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt
netsh winsock reset
ipconfig/registerdns
ipconfig/flushdns
ipconfig/release - Restart the computer to check the issue.
Check if the system is able to detect the network. If this is not the case, go to method 4.
Method 4:
Temporarily disable the security software (if any), and check if it helps.Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Unable to connect to the Internet after you install the update
My computer crashed this afternoon. I restored it since restoration, but Firefox lost disk and my Trend Micro antuvirus. I downloaded the two products, but when I try to install them, they are trying to reconnect to the internet to complete the download. Or the program is able to do. I can log on the Internet and to allow them there have turned off the Windows Firewall and Windows Defender, suspecting one of them was blocking the remote connection. I am running Windows Vista and IE8. When I Windows Update, I lose all internet connections and have to use system restore to go back before the updates.
Original title: remote connections
Hi Cauvagee,
· You are able to access remote desktop connection now after you disable the firewall and Windows Defender?
It seems that one of the update is at the origin of the problem of Internet connectivity. You can follow the steps below and check it it helps you solve the problem.
Step 1
You can access to view the history of update on your computer and the Coachman, who was the last update that was installed when this problem occurred and post back the details of the update.
To view the update history, follow the steps below:
a. open the control panel (all items view), and click the Windows Update icon.
b. click on the link to view update history.
Step 2
Check out who are the updates which has been installed on the computer before that the problem began, later, uninstall it and check if that helps.
- Open installed updates by clicking on theStart button, clickingControl Panel, clickingPrograms and then underPrograms and features, clickingView updates installed. Note the number KB for the updates have been installed before this problem started.
- Select the update that has been installed and uninstall the updates one by one and check the update which is at the origin of the problem.
Step 3
Once you take note of the update that causes this problem, you can download the stand-alone version of the update on your desktop and try to install it manually and check to see if it helps you to solve the problem of internet access. To download the standalone version of windows updates follow the steps below:
a. take note of the update with the Ko only when your computer tries to update and install it.
b. visit the following Microsoft Web site:http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/Search.aspx
c. search by downloading the update.
d. save it on the desktop.
e. try to install it manually.
If the problem persists after you have installed the stand-alone version of update, you can try to start the computer in safe mode with network and check if you can connect to the internet and post back the result. To boot to the desktop in safe mode keep tapping key F8 during restart. Once you see the option to start it in safe mode with select network and press ENTER.
Access the link to learn more about how to start the computer in safe mode:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

Unable to connect to the internet after the removal of system tool virus
A computer running Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002, Service Pack 3 has got a virus System Tool which I believe I deleted using the key of activation and then run Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. On reboot, the system tool icon was still in the system tray, so I ran Norton 360 to remove unwanted registry files. He got rid of the icon in the system tray. I also then removed the Malwarebytes software. Please note that, while I was removing the virus, I was able to connect to AOL so that in mode safe mode with networking. Finally, who has stopped working. The Malwarebytes software has been downloaded on the infected computer with a flash drive from a computer with working internet.
I cannot now connect to the internet with Internet Explorer 8 or AOL (under standard or secure modes). When you are trying to connect with IE8, the message reads 'Internet Explorer cannot display the web page' and when I run the diagnostic tests, it indicates there is a problem with the modem and/or router. These devices are, however, both the work that there are other computers connected to them and they work.
I tried Microsoft solutions are answers to a similar question. Unfortunately, none of them worked in my situation. They have been in accordance with the following:
No doubt...
What happens when you try to connect to the Internet?
What is your version of XP, the version of Service Pack and IE?
What method did you relieve your system of affection 'Antivir Solution Pro' (how confident you are that you got rid of him)?
Generally, any part of this procedure is necessary after removing Antivir Solution Pro (a well documented removal procedure would have included the steps to cancel Internet connectivity issues). I would get my infected system and try the procedure you used to see how it works.
If, when you try to connect with Internet Explorer, you see something like:
Internet Explorer cannot display this webpage
The most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The Web site encounters problems.
There could be a typing error in the address. We will check your network connection properties.
Some malware will alter these settings and your anti malware software can't tell if you have changed the malware changed them or so, after removal of infections, it will leave just the settings as he finds them (it is usually a good thing), but can leave your Internet disabled in certain situations.
Click Start, run and enter in the box:Inetcpl.cpl
Click OK to start the network settings of Internet control panel applet properties, connections.
Or, in Internet Explorer click on tools, Options, connections, LAN settings.
These settings control your Internet access for all browsers.
On most environments, not independent, there will be check automatically detect settings and the other boxes are (as Proxy Server) is disabled.
Automatically detect the setting checked =
Use the automatic configuration script = unchecked
Use a proxy server for your LAN = not checkedMake changes, then click OK, OK to save the settings.
Check your settings for how your network adapter gets its IP and DNS settings. On most home systems, these parameters must be defined for the system will get the settings automatically.
If you have another system on your network that works, you can compare these settings with the settings of the system which is not a work and make adjustments.
Click Start, settings, Control Panel, network connections, and then select your current network connection.
On the general tab, click Properties.
In the drop down in the Middle, find and highlight the selection of Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties.
In the Internet Protocol Properties window, the usual selections are to get the IP and DNS settings automatically. Select the following two options:
Obtain an IP address automatically
Get a DNS server address automatically
The rest of the options on the screen should then be grayed out/not available.
Make changes, then click OK, OK to save the settings.
Restart your computer and test your connection.
Perform scans for malware, and then fix any problems:
Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs:
Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/They can be uninstalled later if you wish.
Also, I typed cmd in the start run box and the command-line entered ipconfig enough and ipconfig/renew. This is also not rectify the situation.
For your assistance, the following is a copy of a part of the file that I thought that may be applicable after that I typed in miscinfo32 in start, run box:

Name of the script fileYou have any ideas that could help me find an internet connection? Thanks for any help.
The removal of the virus seems to have taken some required system files. See if the System File Checker helps. Click Start > run and enter in the field open.
sfc/scannow
Press ENTER. The System File Checker must detect the missing necessary files and put back them. If this does not work, use a system restore point from before you were infected. If this does not work, get out of your XP installation diskettes.

Unable to connect to the internet after uninstalling Norton AV
After the uninstall of Norton with the intention to install "Microsoft Security Essentials" is no longer, I can access the internet. I tried wireless and it shows that I am connected to the internet but when I try to open IE8 it does not connect to the internet. I also tried with ethernet connection, and even once, it does not connect to the internet. I have 2 other computers that will connect and I can see all computers if I explore the network. This means that I'm connected to the network, but my internet is blocked. This computer has Windows Vista Home Priemium and IE8 and works for 9 months without problem until I uninstalled Norton. I did a "System Restore" to the 3 days before the uniinstall point and it did not fix the problem. It tells me that this is not a system problem?

Download and run the Norton Uninstaller above to remove the remnants of it.
The computer you are using now if you have an Internet connection with the other > download / save to desktop > copy to Flash Drive > transfer / install/run on the other computer/laptop.
See you soon.

Unable to connect to the internet after the system restore and Windows Installer (Vista)
Hello
I have recently restored the whole system on the HP to my sister a virus that I was unable to remove it manually. The system restore went well until it has reached the point where he was going to reinstall Windows. The computer just turned itself off and the software installation was not complete. I am able to reinstall again. I must therefore hold the CTRL + alt + delete, go to Task Manager, click on audit.exe and complete the process to turn on the computer. But I can't do anything with it in safe mode. The main problem is: I can't connect to the internet! Even if the network discovery is on it will not find my wireless network. What can I do on the internet? And is it possible to install Windows again without the CD?Thanks in advance!Hello
· You are able to boot to the desktop in normal mode? If this isn't the case, then you get any code or message?
· How did you did system restore?
· Are you referring to the system recovery using the recovery partition or the drive?
I suggest that you start in safe mode with network and check if you can access the internet?
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode
Note: select SafeMode with networking among the startup options.
Respond with the required information so that we can help you further.

VPN access to the not directly connected networks
Hello I have a 5510 which is used for Client VPN access and there is something simple that I can't work. The VPN part works very well with AAA on a CBS. But what does not is access to networks that are not directly connected to the inside interface.
