Hello

It is normal to see you with several versions of Microsoft Visual C++ redistributable installed.

When a developer creates a program using Visual C++, the version they use may be the latest version or an older version. The version they use will be installed on the computer, when you install this program. A later version may not work with this program.

Sometimes, these versions can be developed to fix newly discovered problems or vulnerabilities, or to make improvements.

When Windows Update distributed an update from a previous version of C++ and it detects that the version is installed on your computer, it will apply this update.

Uninstall one of these versions may cause some installed programs no longer works correctly.

These updates are usually very small.

  • Windows Explorer crashes on Asus after uninstalling the game files.

A couple of days, I uninstalled the games that came with my Asus U36S laptop and after that my Windows Explorer began to crash and restart - and recovery system does not work for some reason any.

At first I thought it was a coincidence, so I tried to understand what could be the problem. I checked the third-party applications, virus, malware, tried clean restarts, restart in safe mode and so on and so forth. But the problem persists.

After all the discussions Forum I could find on the situation through, I finally noticed that someone else had the same problem and solved it in re - install game files (OT here, final note: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-system/windows-7-home-premium-corrupted-file-pintlgbimd/f39e62df-aaf0-4bfd-adbd-cd8e874a5297?page=2).

Now, I'd love to do that too - but I have no idea how to do to get your hands on these game files. I don't have an installation CD (my laptop did not come with a CD-rom) and I don't even remember the names of the games that I uninstalled.

Can someone help me with this? I would be eternally grateful!

PS: I tried to call Asus about this, but they were less than helpful...

A couple of things by looking at the Event Viewer logs.

The ASUSWSShellExt64.dll was originally explore crash like this recently connected recurrent error:

The failing application name: explorer.exe, version: 6.1.7601.17567, time stamp: 0x4d672ee4
The failed module name: ASUSWSShellExt64.dll, version: 1.1.0.27, time stamp: 0x4c7f631

In addition, Chrome is crashing because of the iDeviceEx.dll like this recently connected recurrent error:

Name of the failing application: chrome.exe, version: 32.0.1700.107, time stamp: 0x52ed6c62
Name of the failed module: iDeviceEx.dll_unloaded, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x4cde567f

The information that you have posted on the grip, the location of the iDeviceEx.dll is as follows:

    LoadedModule [148] =C:\Program Files (x 86) \iMacsoft\iPod to PC Transfer\iDeviceEx.dll

Can you try to go to the \iMacsoft\iPod C:\Program Files (x 86) to PC file transfer and right-click the iDeviceEx.dll and the iDeviceEx.dll and rename it to iDeviceEx.old

Log off and reconnect again, and then restart Chrome and see if the same problem of hanging occurs.

  • After uninstalling also remove files?

    Hi all.

My application uses files to store parameters.

I would like to delete these files once a user uninstalls the application.

    Is this possible?

So I won't try to invoke the uninstall process (because then I know the answer.) Instead, I would like as my application to clean up after itself when leaving.

This is possible if you use the persistent store.  There is no support for this if you write files using a FileConnection.

  • Uninstall the certificate file

Is there a way to uninstall a certdb?

    Thank you.

You can go to Google and type in run and it is a freeware program that you can download and install on your device. Then use go, find the file and delete it. Thereafter, you must perform a soft reset on the device. (remove and reinstall the battery) Keep in mind you will lose your ability to use SSL for security protection. If you don't need that ability for like access to a companys and email files, then it is no problem. If you ever want to regain this ability to use the SSL, back up all your data and make a hard reset on the device and it will be re - install the battery needed for SSL.

  • Reappear obsolete api files

We use interlaced autonomy FileSite 8.5 and having a problem with a file of api obsolete reappear. Every time we update/repair Acrobat, an old (dated 2007-11-30) api file will appear in C:\Program Files (x 86) \adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Acrobat\plug_ins. Correct (15/06/2012) api file remains in the folder plug_ins\Interwoven, but the file exceeded imanacrobat.api also appears. With this api file out of date we cause problems with registration of PDF documents. If we manually remove the file api 2007 all works well until the next update of Acrobat, and then it comes back again.

I opened a case of pension with autonomy, and they are convinced that their software is not the problem. I tested a repair when the computer is disconnected from the environment of the area by disabling the network card so that I could make sure that he was not getting the file of our network somewhere. Imanacrobat.api file returns. Using Procmon while repairing and looking at the re-creation of the file produces no pointer know whence this file. The search of the local registry does not find everything related to the api except for the pointer to the right thing.       Anyone has any ideas as to why the api files keep reappearing or how can I get rid of the problem?

The nested API file, is not part of Adobe Acrobat.  If the Acrobat installer should not affect third party plugin which uses a different Setup program.  It seems that you or your IT Department may have packed the file API interwoven with Acrobat.  Now normally when Acrobat repairs or updates he follows the specification of Windows Installer technology and reference the MST file in the process and use it to keep all the customizations that you made originally for the MST and MSI file, as a package.  The question is "How do you change the Acrobat installer?  He was with the Adobe Customization Wizard?  He was with a third-party installation utility?
