    Hello

I recently put HP Probook 4530 s. I'm running Win7 Ultimate 64 bit. I have two questions for the same thing.

    1. I installed all the drivers and it works well. But I noticed that there is still an unknown device and Hardware ID "HPQ0004" I think it is for reinforcements to drive 3D. So is it really necessary? In fact it will be useful in the case of the laptop falling or accidental damage? This will affect the performance of my laptop?

    2. There is a USB 3.0 to this laptop. Recently I bought external hard drive Seagate GoFlex (500 GB). They say that it is possible to upgrade to 3.0. Can anyone tell me that how can I use this drive on the USB 3.0 port to get the best speed of transfer? Is there any software to upgrade my external drive to 3.0? How can I do?

    Thank you.

    Kind regards

  • One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned and Windows does not recognize it. The location is the root (2 ports) USB hub: 1-unknown device and Port 2-not used

Original title: USB device not recognized

Over the last 2 weeks, I get a message on a USB device.  The message said that one of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned and Windows does not recognize it.  The location is the root (2 ports) USB hub: 1-unknown device and 2-unused Port.  I have no idea what it means.  I hesitated to first click the icon (it does not last very long) thinking it could be a scam.  Can someone help me?  Thank you.

    Hello

    (1) is the specific question of specific USB devices?
    (2) did you of recent changes to the computer before the show?
    (3) have you tried plugging the USB stick on another computer?

    (4) what is the brand and model of the computer?

I suggest to refer to the following methods and check if it helps to solve the problem.

Method 1: Hardware devices do not work or are not detected in Windows

Run Microsoft Fixit mentioned in the article.

  • Unknown device and device Base system shown in Device Manager

    Original title: VAIO VPCF24C5E

    Hi all

I've updated Windows 7 Pro for Windows 8 pro on my Sony VAIO (model VPCF24C5E).
Instead of using the kit to upgrade from Sony - which would be put to day/install the necessary drivers that are compatible with Windows 8, I decided to perform a clean installation and leave with the generic drivers.
Everything works fine, except there is a device in the device manager that are displayed as "Unknown device" and another showing as 'System device Base' which has installed a driver, no one can be found.
Also the only FN keys that work are the volume and mute keys. So I guess that one of these devices is something to do with those non-functional.
I wonder if anyone can shed light on what are "Unknown" devices and "Base System" and what they are for and the drivers, I need to get them to function.
It is not a major issue to be honest, as there is nothing that the FN keys do I can't access/adjust through the windows. But I would fix still rather the question anyway!
Here is the link to the Support page for my laptop: http://www.sony.co.uk/support/en/product/vpcf24c5e
Thanks for reading, any info on this will be appreciated.

    Hi James,

This problem occurs when the drivers for the laptop card reader or your computer is not properly installed.

I suggest you to download and install the latest drivers for the card from the website of Sony Reader and check if that helps.

    Take a look at http://community.sony.com/t5/Windows-8/Unkonown-quot-Base-System-Device-quot-in-device-manger/td-p/122701

Hope this information is useful. If you have any questions, please let us know.

  • Portege M440 - Vista problems: problems of Bluetooth, the unknown device and tablet.

I just installed Vista on my Portege M400 and installed all the drivers on the driver Vista page.
    But I have several questions...

1: bluetooth does not work. I can't find anywhere in Control Panel whatever it is on a connection bluetooth or something else.

2: after you have installed all the drivers on the driver Vista page, there is 2 "unknown device" in Device Manager. I can't find any information on what are these devices. However, when I tried to manually install the driver bluetooth on the first of them "Unknown device" he admitted the driver. This does not work on the other. And it does not solve the problem of the bluetooth missing.

3: the tablet itself feature works very well - the pen and everything. But when I turn the screen into tablet mode it does not change the screen layout. Or the buttons on the lower part of the screen to work.

I hope that there is some sort of solution to these problems - and that someone can help me.

    Hello j_waver0000,

Thank you for using the Microsoft Windows Vista Forums.

I would like more information on what brand and model of mouse you are using?  I know that you listed Trackball, but I show several manufacturers using the name of trackball, including Microsoft.

Have you informed you have uninstalled the mouse drivers, have you done this in Device Manager?   "Click Start-> type Device Manager" in the search field-> select Device Manager-> select mice and other pointing devices-> with the right button of your device, and then select update.

If the device is already updated and then right-click and select "Uninstall".  You may be prompted to restart, otherwise right click again on your device and select "install".

If you have a Microsoft Mouse, please visit this link for additional information.  Please let us know status.  Thank you!

  • Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit with Canon IP6600D printer and unknown device

I have a Windows 7 Premium build with a Canon Pixma IP6600D printer.  It worked sporatically at first with my Windows 7 until recently.  Now, I get an unknown device and the USB Plug N Play reports that it is not recognizing the device.  The USB port on the printer is good as it works perfectly on my XP machines and the USB port is on the PC as the other devices are recognized without incident.

I tried stuff Device Manager usual for updated driver, updates the window, etc.  As this is a printer compatible 64-bit of Windows 7 (with some minor limitations), I was wondering why all drivers for Windows 7 is not recognize this printer.  Printer is good, USB is good, the cable is good.  Of course, the OEM driver disk is more compatible to reload the printer because it is a 32-bit application.  So, I rely on Microsoft Windows 7 drivers Canon for the deal.

Just got off the phone with Canon and they confirm that the driver of Windows 7 are compatible plug-n-play and all I need and that Canon does not provide one direct driver other than the Add on Windows 7 x 64.

Yet once, I ran all the windows and the driver updates to say everything is as current as possible.
    Next?

  • 802.11 wireless pen drive recognized as 'unknown device' under USB. Help, please.

Specs: Windows XP Home Edition version 2002, Service Pack 2. This is the version of XP OEM. Processor Intel pentium 4 2.00 GHz. 1.50 GB of ram.

After an unknown incident (i suspect headphones usb), my wireless USB key has ceased to be recognized as such and become everything simply an "unknown device" under "USB bus controllers. Although windows tells me there is no drivers for the device installed, the wireless pen drive is signed with the Publisher of Microsoft Windows with a version of driver 5.1.2600.0, Microsoft being the driver provider.

Compound number, the 802.11 device is listed under "Other devices" when 'show hidden devices' is selected and the variable "devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices" entered "environment variables", but is washed out-showing that the system thinks that the device is not currently connected to the computer. In addition, under details, it displays error code 45: the device is not connected to the computer. And it is. It's very hip. as cement and connected tape.

I plugged the wireless key USB in all the usb ports on the computer, every time with her recognized as 'unknown device' under usb controllers. I entered in the safe mode, uninstalled all the usb controllers and root usb hub drivers and let windows the respawn after reboot in order to solve the problem. No dice.

I also plugged the USB in a different desktop and it works like a charm, so the issue is not with the hardware.

Clearly there that a conflict with drivers/registry/God knows what, but I'm at a loss. Somehow, windows has taken its decision and the player associated with "unknown device" and I see no way to make the system "forget" that the USB was never connected. How can I remove the ghost driver "unknown device" manually or force windows to re-associate the key wireless USB with "other devices" (with the yellow? mark) and not this useless usb driver "unknown device"?

    Thanks for the help!

try to run the following tools in series:

    1. http://support.Microsoft.com/GP/hardware_device_problems
    2. http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/817900 (Microsoft Fix it 50052)

I suggest you uninstall the drivers for Bluetooth, fingerprint usb controllers and the sensor. Then reboot the computer this should install it the appropriate drivers for it.

    Here's how you can do:

    1. click on the Start button > run > type devmgmt.msc and press ENTER.
    2. locate each USB device, the after another and then right-click on it.
    3. Select the option to uninstall.
    4 restart your computer.

Alternatively, you can try to install the driver chipset for your computer.

    Hope this information is useful.

  • Unknown device on Satego P100-10U

First of all, sorry for my very bad English :-(

I install XP and now the system to say that I have an unknown device and a PCI device without driver. I think one of them is the sound card, but I can't install the rather. "Device not found" is the message. And I can not find drivers for it. If anyone knows what I can do, please help me... :-)

    Hello

For me it s a clear case Oliver. The device could not be found error message appears because you have tired to install a bad driver.

Satego P100-10F seems to belong to the PSPAME series.

Therefore, you need to download the drivers for the laptop PSPAME! Be sure that you have chosen the right set to 100%!

PS; I recommend you download the drivers from Toshiba European page because AFAIK the Satego has been designed for the European market.

    Hello:

You need these drivers for devices...
