unknown device message in Device Manager

After you have reinstalled a fresh copy of windows XP on a PC there is a Pavilion a1310n desktop missing driver, presenting himself as "Unknown device" in Device Manager. I tried all the drivers on the HP Support page for this model, but none seems not to work. Someone has an idea of what it could be? (Note: this Pc has four ports of smart card on the front.)

Thank you!

It worked! You are a genius!

Thank you very much!

May I ask what exactly was this driver?

    I have recently upgraded to Windows Pro 64-bit 10.  Machines involved are - 8440p & 8470p running W7 Pro 64-bit.

    The Device Manager shows an unknown device - ACPI\HPQ6000\3 & 33FD14CA & 0.

Could someone tell me what this is in reference to.  Perhaps point to a driver that I could update.

    Thank you / / Jeff

    You are the very welcome.

The reason why you don't see the driver is because most of the drivers are missing in support pages, which have not worked directly for HP split into 2 companies from 1 August.

This is certainly the driver you need.  If the version of W7 works, I can't say.

    See if it works.

    FTP://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp59001-59500/sp59282.exe

If this driver does the same thing...

Go to Device Manager and click on the unknown device of 6000 who need pilots.

Click on the driver tab, click on set to update driver.  Select her browse my computer for driver software option, then at the bottom of this window, let pick me from a list of drivers for devices on my computer.

Click on disk and go to C:\SWSetup\sp59282\accelerometer and select the HP Mobile Data Protection sensor and see if the pilot goes like this.

Here's a partial copy and paste of the accelerometer installation information file.

As you can see the device is supported by the driver.

But it's the most recent driver is there, I know.

  • Portege M200 - device unknown in Device Manager

I did a clean install of Windows XP on my toshiba portege m200 (Tablet). I have most of the devices drivers installed, but there is one that I can't understand. The device manager says I have an "unknown device" on my "Intel 82801 dbm lpc interface controller.

What is it? I thought it was the chip set, but I had installed the Intel chipset drivers (twice, just to make sure that I really did), but it still reads as 'unknown device' on ' Intel (r) 82801DBM LPC Interface Controller - 24CC.

To resolve this issue go to the device, right click on the unknown device, Manager and then select set to update driver.
When the Hardware Update Wizard appears, select the advanced option.
From the next window, select the 'don't search. I will choose the driver' option
Now, go to the Intel announcement and select good "82801DBM LPC Interface Controller - 24CC.
Click OK and now it should work.

Also, be sure you have all the drivers installed from Toshiba Web site:

  • Re: Satellite 5200 701: unknown device in Device Manager.

    Hello.

It WinXP Pro + SP 3.
In the display devices, such as an unknown device manager. Try all of the pilots, who were on a disc with the laptop, nothing helps. Give the solution!

I still use Windows XP Home with Service Pack 2 and I'm really happy with it. If you have some problems with SP3 remove and continue to use Windows XP Home with Service Pack 2 only. Satellite 5200 is quite old but very nice laptop. Make sure that the laptop works fine with SP2 and you have an application of good-antivir.

Simply to operate Satellite 5200. I noticed that many people have reported on various issues after installing SP3. Exactly the same thing with Vista SP1.

    Hello

ACPI-> Advanced Configuration and Power Interface
ACPI defines hardware and software interfaces that allow focus on the OS configuration and power management to enumerate and configure motherboard devices.
For example: ACPI is necessary for the standby and hibernation mode.

Now your question; the new BIOS has been updated and configured to using VISTA.
It seems that VISTA was not compatible with the previous version of BIOS because the ACPI interface. Now you can install Vista on the laptop, but it seems that you need a driver. Possibly new chipset driver version might help. But as you probably know, the drivers are not available at this time. Unfortunately

  • Device Manager - unknown device + Hig Defintion Audio Device (Point of Exclamation)

    Hello

I hope that someone can help you. The hard drive on my laptop of HP ENVY TS 15 (product number: E3S19UA #ABA) out crapped and I reinstalled Windows Enterprise 8.1. I downloaded and installed all the drivers from the HP website. When I look at the Panel, I have an "unknown device" and in the audio, video and game controllers, I have an exclamation mark next to the high definition Audio Device.

I installed the HP Support Assistant and let it do its thing. That has not fixed the problem. When I look at the properties for the unknown device, I see the following in detail: "ACPI\HPQ6007\3 & 11583659 & 0" regarding high definition Audio, I see the following in the general tab:

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

    {Operation failed}
    The requested operation failed.

When I try to update the driver software fo the High Definition Audio, I get a message that "Windows has determined the software driver for your device is up to date.

Don't know where to go from here. Any help or words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    -Val

    You are the very welcome.

This is defininitely the driver you need and you need to install it manually.

    Run the driver again.

Go to Device Manager and click on the unknown device needing driver.

Click the driver tab.  Click on set to update driver.  Select Browse my computer for driver software, and find the folder of the driver that was created when you ran the driver.

This file will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp66078.  Make sure that the include subfolders is selected and see if the pilot goes like this.

If this does not work, then back to her browse my computer for driver software window and then select Let me pick from a list of drivers for devices on my computer option, then select Have Disk and browse to: C:\SWSetup\sp66078\InstallFiles\Win8_1\accelerometer and select the HP Mobile Data Protection sensor from the list and see if the pilot goes like this.

The HD audio device is the audio device Intel HDMI which could not install when you ran the graphics driver, so run it again and if it does not install, manually install the driver using the same procedure that I posted to the 3D driveguard.

If it doesn't, then I remove the driver and tell you where to get the driver from, as I did for the above device.

  • CanoScan 5600F Scanner appears as unknown in Device Manager

I have a new CanoScan 5600F scanner which appears as unknown in Device Manager. I downloaded and installed the latest driver (several times) from Canon.

    • I tried the scanner on two PC running XP Home - a new Compaq Presario and a new Barebone VisonMan. It does not work on either.
    • I also tried the Epson scanners on both machines, and they don't work either.
    • However, when I run the Compaq Presario with Vista (which came with it), works to scan Canon. Problem is, I don't use Vista (or Win7) and I have no intention of.

This seems to indicate that it is a problem with XP Home, do not recognize the scanner. I did not have this problem with any other USB device. Any suggestions?

    Thank you.

    Hello Onliner999,

  • Unknown device in the device error 43 Manager

I get a 43 unknown device error when I start Windows 7.  I tried every fix I found after ten days of research.  When Windows starts, and the notification is popping up that I can't use my keyboard are so difficult to do anything.  Finally, the message disappears (I don't know why) and I am able to type, or if I catch it just just between notifications.  At this time I started my computer in clean boot mode and no error message appears and the unknown device is not USB device controllers manager.

What, in my view, that has happened, is that I used to have an LG phone and the software on the computer.  I now have a new phone, Samsung, that I just connected to the same port on the front of the computer.  The Samsung worked, but did not ask me to install the software, then must have run out of the LG.  I deleted the software from LG and then reconnected the Samsung and got the prompt to download the correct software.  I then plugged a generic USB hub device in order to use the phone and any other device that I could plug in (none at this time and I even unplugged the generic hub).

Now I get the unknown device.  Some fix told me he didn't need a driver, but Windows keeps load a generic driver and so the message repeats the process over and over again.

Unknown error seems to be a common problem, probably a fix is available from Microsoft.

Any help would be appreciated more because it drives me crazy!

Thanks for your reply, Al-Shabaab.  In fact, I solved the problem.

I deleted all the Verizon and Samsung software on my computer.  When doing this, I noticed that my keyboard has gradually deteriorated (failed to start in safe mode F8 key would not work).

I bought a new keyboard... and EUREKA!  Problem disappeared!  Then I rebooted my phone software and have had no problems since.  I guess it was a coincidence that the keyboard was dying as I tried to connect my phone to my computer leading me on a GOOSE Chase that was long, difficult and extremely frustrating!

I appreciate the help and I hope this will help others.

  • 4 "other unknown devices" in Device Manager. Windows 7 RTM 64 dv7 1450

Just bought a computer HP dv7-1450 laptop with AMD Turion X 2 64 processors. Installed Windows 7 RTM 64 and everything seems to work except there are 4 unknown "other devices" listed in Device Manager. The 4 devices are:

    -System base unit (x 3)

    -Unknown Device (x 1)

I have no idea what are these devices. I tried looking for drivers for chipset on the AMD and HP Web site without result. But I do not know if these are the associated chipsets. One of the devices would be the disk fall sensor hard (it does not appear in the device no matter where Manager)?

Unfortunately on the HP site, there are not many downloads of drivers available for the 64-bit (Vista). I know that Windows 7 64 drivers won't be available until in October, but if there are not any available Vista drivers either, I expect to see all the drivers for Windows 7?

The most important thing for me is just to know what are these "other devices" 4 and get the drivers installed.

    Thanks in advance!
