Update Windows 7 scrambled keyboard.

After the automatic updates, this morning, I came back to my laptop, attached to log and noted that the keyboard has been doing things he shouldn't.

For example: lets say my password was Apple. 'A' key worked fine, but the 'p' key functioned as a key input, so I couldn't finish the password. The Alt key (which does nothing) puts in two characters, press "9" turn on Caps Lock... it's quite a mess!

I don't have any idea what is happening, and there actually me locked out of my new laptop.

Someone knows what's the problem? And how to fix... I haven't touched all the settings, and everything worked fine before the update.

See you soon.

Hello

1. use a USB keyboard on your laptop and check if it works very well.

Method 1.
Use the on-screen keyboard to enter the password.
Type without using the keyboard (on-screen keyboard)
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/type-without-using-the-keyboard-on-screen-keyboard

Method 2.
Check if you are able to start in safe mode way.
Start your computer in safe mode and then configure your computer for the clean boot and check if it starts successfully. If it starts successfully can be a third-party application or service is causing the problem. We can use the approach 50 / 50 to narrow down the root cause of the problem.
See the article below for instructions on how to start your computer in a clean boot state.
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: When the diagnosis is complete do not forget to reset the computer to a normal startup. Follow step 7 in the above article.

Method 3.
As a last recourse that we can perform a restore of the system at the time before the show took place. If you are able to start the computer by using the on-screen keyboard, then we can use the mouse to perform a system restore. Here's how:
a. Click Start, click all programs.
b. click on accessories and now navigate to system tools and click.
c. Select the system restore and follow the instructions that appear on the screen and use the mouse for this task.

If everything works well after the computer restarts, install the updates of Windows and one and check the update is at the origin of the conflict and to avoid it.

I hope this helps.

Thank you, and in what concerns:

Applications, (Norton and McAfee) are notorious for not not upgrade (or uninstalling) itself. (No, Symantec Support never say this.) See if the following solves your problems:

    1. download the Norton Removal Tool, save it to your desktop: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe

    2. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the taskbar).

    3. After completing some you have a copy of your handy product key, uninstall all Norton software (including LiveUpdate and everything Norton Add ons) via Control Panel | Programs | Uninstall a program (or Control Panel |) Programs and features, if you are using the classic view).

4 IMPORTANT! -Online activate Windows Firewall immediately after the restart.

NB: Now you're "working without a net": no to ANYTHING else online (e.g., navigation, reading e-mail, chat) until you have completed step #7 below!

    5. right click on the file that you saved in step #1 above, and then select run as administrator.  DO TAP not your keyboard until the race ends, then restart.

    6. do a clean install of the 2010 version of your Norton application, using your product ID & reboot: http://www.symantec.com/norton/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docurl=20080514162318EN

TIP: Do not activate or install additional modules of Norton (for example, Norton Anti-Phishing) immediately.

    7. manually and repeatedly run LiveUpdate until you get a prompt "no update more".

    8 test cycle.

  • Help me update windows 8.1 Hp Envy m6-k025dx

I use HP envy m6-Ko25dx that comes with windows pre-installed 8 and I'm looking at the update windows 8.1, I tried 4 times, but could not update all the important updates from Microsoft and HP as well. In addition, I checked my laptop computer compatibility, which is very uncomfortable with windows 8.1.
The problem is that I face is common for many people who have tried to upgrade their system, I download windows 8.1 Windows store and up to 65% all going very well, but after restarting a few adjustment transformed and then computer screen show no completely black results, finally I restore my previous version

    Hi Jacot,

I wish to inform you that the antivirus software may cause some software conflicts that will be detrimental to the update to Windows 8.1. I also suggest you disconnect all external devices connected to the computer and also disable the antivirus installed in the computer software and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

Disconnect all external devices (printers, scanner, USB (universal serial bus) drives, etc.) except the keyboard and mouse and then try to install Windows 8.1

I would say also allows you to check if there is no update pending Windows needs to be installed.

If so, then I suggest you to install the update and check if it helps.

    Method 2:

If the problem persists, I suggest to disable the antivirus/firewall software and check if you are able to install.

Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 3:

You can place the computer in a clean boot, and then try to install the upgrade. Clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

You can track the item concerned to perform a clean boot.

    Perform a clean boot

Follow the instructions (step 1 for Windows 8) given in this link to make a clean boot:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: After completing the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow these steps to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.

    (a) press the "Windows + R" key on the keyboard.
    (b) in the window "Run", type "MSCONFIG" and click on 'Ok '.
    (c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click ok.
    (d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

    I hope this helps.

  • Firefox runs very slowly after updating Windows 10

Saturday, December 12, 10 Windows spent an age of update itself, with several reboots. Since then, the navigation is horribly slow with Firefox, although my internet connection is always very well (fast my Smartphone using Microsoft Edge). I have two PCs, and both seem to have been affected in the same way. Using the Task Manager, I see that Firefox uses a lot of CPU most of the time - often more than 50%. Even typing and scrolling are very slow, not just downloading.
I disabled all my add-ins and plug-ins, run in safe mode, rebooted and reinstalled Firefox without result. So far, I'd say that Firefox is the fastest browser. I think that Firefox updated itself 42.0 version a few days, so I have a suspect that this slowdown has occurred just after a Windows Update.

Update: Windows update itself again today and, like magic, Firefox is again well. So problem solved.

  • I've updated Windows 8.0 Windows 8.1, since Firefox run a bit oddly. In particular, when on the sites with lots of images like Facebook, etc.

Hello, I am writing because I have a few problems with my favorite browser after update to 8.1 Windows. Here are some details. I've updated Windows 8.0 Windows 8.1, since Firefox run a bit oddly. In particular, when on sites with lots of images like Facebook. It's as if there is some sort of effect of Flikr between the office and the images, as well as between the images and the browser (a bit like old flikering of 16-bit video games). It's not too bad, but it's a question. I tried to reset firefox and restart the computer. I have not tried a repair, and I haven't done an uninstall.

Hello, disable hardware acceleration in firefox should a restart of the application is taken into account. have you tried that too?

Please also see if there is an available update your graphics drivers ...

  • After the 24 Firefox update, Windows 7 64-bit breaks on reboot. The network in the taskbar icon is not ready (blue circle stopped).

After 24 of Firefox update, Windows 7 breaks after the reboot. The network in the taskbar icon is not ready (blue circle on the wireless network icon). But I can't do much. I can't open the network and sharing Center (never opened). Even the Task Manager hangs when I click to show processes from all users. I have to do a system restore for a network working again. I never even launched Firefox.

Wow... I finally have the solution. Windows updates have been applied at the same time I updated Firefox. Bluetooth driver is what broke (which is part of the Centrino wireless). I ended up installing the latest driver from Intel, Windows Update, and then update Firefox... and all is well.

I thank very you much for all your help. Take care.

  • Can I update windows 10 on Sprout?

If I update windows 10, can I also use sprout function? (Scan, projector, sprout apps, etc.).
    No probpem?

I agree with ray1204 on this: HP must assess and update or do say us that it is impossible.

I have not run Windows 10 on Sprout; However, I've been running on a laptop, and I've done it since the Insider program began.  I'm now up to build 10130.  I would not risk running Windows 10 on Sprout, so if someone else did, I'm interested.

Windows 10 previews in stability and utilization have improved, but the user interface is different in Windows 8.  Windows 8 has a desk and a splash screen that seem quite distinct.  Windows 10 looks like a desktop and applications, the functions file, etc. appear on a screen separated when you click on the Windows button.  Which is kinda the same, but now modern applications and heritage applications all play together.  The store and the browser are new and very different, etc.

Shoot, we all discovered, is his own strange beast.  The use of the desktop screen and start with the germination environment is quite strange.  Manual of the developer makes more mysterious, in my opinion.

I think that HP has got to do some work on Windows 10 and probably change Sprout.  Which may not happen until the release of the "final" Windows 10.

    Patience is my suggestion.

  • After the last update Windows 10 - Z30 Satellite screen problem - has

    Hello

After updating Windows 10 (threshold/1115) one of our Z30 - A sometimes wakes up after hibernation with the screen off. The only solution is to turn it off by holding the power and then turning it back on, button which is obviously annoying because open files may be lost or corrupted. The other Z30 - A that you don't show the behavior of sound.

Someone at - it ideas? I would really appreciate the pointers.

    Thank you very much!

    Sounds like a driver problem.

go to control panel and uninstall different drivers (sound, display, wireless, etc.), then let Windows update install the latest versions.

  • Firefox beta 9, coming continuous update window, click on update, but it nevers connects to the server, the link 'click here for more information' is dead.

I go about Firefox and click on the updates button control the browser downloads the update, I restart Firefox and behind the browser window is a window that says: it is strongly recommended that update Firefox. It is also a link to get more information about this update. The link is not responding, so I click on 'Next' and connect to the server and it never connects. I let it run all night and it connects. I get this window even after that I updated to Firefox. How can I do that, go away? Is this a legitimate Update window or something try to redirect to a malicious site?

In fact, the window just jumped upward once again, as I was typing this message.

If there are problems with the implementation at day then best is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version and remove the Firefox program folder to remove all remaining files.

Download a new copy of Firefox and save the file to the desktop.

Uninstall your current version of Firefox if possible and delete the folder of Firefox beta program to remove all remaining files.

    • Do NOT remove the data of a personal nature when you uninstall the current version or you lose your bookmarks and other data in the profile folder.

Your bookmarks and other profile data stored in the Firefox profile folder and will not be affected by a relocation, but make sure that you do not select delete data of a personal nature if you uninstall Firefox.

  • Satellite P10-304 - update Windows 7 problem

I have a Satellite P10 304 to 2003 which has Windows XP, but I need to update for obvious reasons. I bought a copy of Windows 7 (32 bit) and installed without any installation problem, however I can't update Windows.

I reinstalled, deleted the hard drive and reinstalled again. Tried the stop and start the Windows Update utility.
    Downloaded the stand-alone Windows Update.

Updated the BIOS to V2.0 and downloaded the Toshiba Service Station application (who says no update is necessary).
    All this without success.

My hopes were raised when I saw that the Station Service for Windows 7 32 bit software was available for the P10 304 but I am now at a loss.

Anyone know if this laptop can be upgraded to Windows 7 and how to get updates of work?

    Help is welcome.

    Peter

I'm sure that installation of Windows 7 update problems are not specific to Toshiba problems even if you use the Toshiba laptop.

From my point of few, you should check the Microsoft support pages to find the solution.
    For example this:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/w...#1TC=Windows-7

Just a tip: I had some problems in the past to install updates because of the antirust software. He locked the installation of some essential updates and after you disable temporal, updates could be installed...
Missing Service Packs might concern the single installation of patches.

  • How to replace "apply downloaded update now" with "Check for Updates" in the menu help when the update fails because the downloaded update files are missing but the "Ready to install update" window keeps appearing?

    Question

I have another type of problem with Firefox

    Description

Window "Ready to Install" Firefox "Software Update" appeared. The folder "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\updates\0" contained the files update.mar, update.status and update.version. Each of the 3 files have been deleted. The next time that Firefox has been started, no update occurred because update files were missing. In the Menu bar, clicking Help showed in the menu drop-down that "apply downloaded update now" was always on the list. By clicking on "Apply downloaded update now" open "Software Update" window "Ready to install update", so that Firefox still considers that the update files exist, but they do not. In the window "Software Update", by clicking on "Restart Firefox" restart of Firefox, but once again it there's no update, and remains "apply downloaded update now" on the Help menu. How can "Apply downloaded update now" be replaced by "Check for Updates" so the update files can be downloaded?

    Version of Firefox

    3.6.3

    Operating system

    Windows XP

    User Agent

    Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; RV:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3

    Plugins installed

    • npmnqmp - 989898989877
    • NP-mswmp
    • Adobe PDF plugin for Firefox and Netscape "9.3.2.
    • Default plugin
    • Foxit Reader plugin for Firefox and Netscape
    • Shockwave Flash 10.0 r45
    • Version 1.0.3 copyright 1996-2009 The VideoLAN Teamhttp: / /www.videolan.org/

You can manually reset the software update feature by closing Firefox and remove the file "updates" (which seems you have done) and the two files "active - update.xml" and "updates.xml" - these are in the installation (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox) directory or in the profile folder (C:\Documents and Settings\nom_utilisateur\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\something.default).

If it does not, see our KB article How to resolve the failure of the update of Firefox update error message - the section of 'last resort' can be useful, or or read this article from MozillaZine KB, software update.

Please let us know how the above work, and if we can be of further assistance.

Should I update to windows 10 birthday? Someone had problems with the update?

To install the updated Windows 10 anniversary choice you completely. Yes, people have had problems with the update. If you need the use of the computer and can not afford to face questions, you can wait on the installation of the update. If problems occur during or after installation, and you can manage it, you can install the update. I suggest creating a Windows repair disc and do a Windows system image backup before installing the update.
