    thonson35,

According to conventional wisdom, you should not install new drivers, if all goes well with your computer, because doing so may mess up something that worked fine before. It is true that this side effect can occur, but you're much more likely to improve the performance of your PC.

To minimize your risk of breaking your PC with a bum driver update, create first a point of system restore you can come back to if something is wrong: type to create a restore point in the search box of the start menu and click on Create... in the window that opens. This will create a safety net that you have access to, no matter what happens.

Your next step in upgrading the drivers should be updated to Windows. Click search for updates, and then click the text noting how many updates are available. Generally Microsoft class driver as optional updates, so even if the text Windows Update indicates that you have not need for critical updates, you should always click the link. Check the box next to all the drivers updated, and then click OK to install.

Then, visit the Web site of the manufacturer of your computer or devices you have connected to it. Check the support page for your machine and download the new drivers that appear. In most cases, you will need to know the particular piece of hardware that is installed on your computer (check Windows Device Manager if you are not sure of the model number of a component is), and you should only download the drivers you need. Install the new drivers according to the instructions; This step usually involves a simple executable file running and then restart. Test your system carefully after each driver installation and make additional system if restore points you're upgrading of several drivers. The biggest performance gains result from an update of your BIOS, motherboard drivers, and graphics card drivers.

  • Update of Windows 8 failure and black screen

Hrllo, I came here with a question, yesterday I updated to Windows 8 via a cd

Today he showed me that I have to restart my pc to apply updates 125 that he had to install, after playing a few hours, I decided to reboot and update (thinking that after these I would update for Windows 8.1), but after installing the updates windows began to undo the changes, because it could not update After making these and finally finishinh instead of the lock screen I am facing a black screen without being able to use my computer or use the periferials (mouse and keyboard)

What can I do? I tried to use the cd to upgrade again, but it won't let me do anything: I can't refresh the pc, I won't reset it, he can't fix the problems and cannot use the cd to reinstall Windows, so... A few suggestions or solutions.

PS Sorry for the misspelling, I submit it mobile

    Hello

What was the original operating system of the device?

    Computer brand/model?

I suggest to reinstall the original operating system before using the cd (Win 8) upgrade.  Once you have the system operation and upgraded, install the necessary updates immediately.

  • Laptop Toshiba Windows 8 failure to configure the updates... Returning from endless loop

I bought a new laptop (Toshiba Satellite C55-A5281) with window 8.  Once through the new normal computer set up, I saw that there were 108 updates for Windows 8.  Yes, it's a hundred and eight!  OK, may as well do before loading anything on the new computer, right?

Hours and hours later... I was always in an infinite loop.  I've been through all this hit F8 once forcing them to close and restart upward... then made the deal of refreshing to try to fix.  Then, I started the whole update process on and got the same thing... Hours later, once again.  I actually let it run all night.  Same ugly loop once again.

Maybe doing 102 updates at the same time, it is not a good idea.  But I have no idea of those who to try to do first.  Or exactly how just a little at a time.  And if I have to do one at a time, and each takes hours, I can't live that long...

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  I knew before Windows 8 would be a challenge... but unfortunately it seems a lot harder than I expected.

I did the full restore... and then did a full reformat reset it all back at the factory.

Then I did some updates at once instead of 102 all at once.  It took forever, but seems to work.  Then I got a notice of update to Windows 8.1.  I did that as well (took hours) and everything seems to work now.  I have probably 20 hours of downloading (and wait) and the download time (and waiting) with this.  I hope it's over and I can go on living it normal.
