Upgrade of RAM/SSD to the Pavillion DV2500, p/n KC453UA #ABA

I'm looking to upgrade laptop to my wife for her because she does not want a new.

The p/n is #ABA KC453UA

I wanted to replace its 2 GB of memory with a kit of 4 GB and I was wondering if, with the right bios settings, DDR2 800 would work.

http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16820231156

Also to install an SSD, probably one of the Samsung 840 7 mm models.

Thank you

Leslie

Hi, Leslie:

2 x 2 GB PC2 - 6400 will work well in this model, plug-and-play.

An SSD... could be problematic.

I've read some reports of members of the forum where they work, and somewhere they are not - for the most part where they do not have.

Models of Intel-based laptops have a better chance of working than the nvidia/AMD based on models.

In addition, the chipset nVidia in your model doesn't support AHCI, so the SSD will not perform at its best, if it works at all.

My recommendation if you want to upgrade the player, is to choose a model of 7 200 rpm which should PEP to the top search on 5 icon time 400 rpm that comes standard on this notebook.

  • The upgrade of RAM will improve the speed side Windows and Mac?

I use VMware fusion for music production and this program requires plenty of work. I have a MacBook Pro 4 GB of ram and when I turn on VMware it goes to 2 GB of ram in Mac and 2 GB ram under windows. My Mac's speed is normal when VMware fusion is off but when I turn on my Mac is very slow. The upgrade of ram will improve the speed on mac and also windows (windows is also very slow)

BTW, my English is not very good

Well, take a peek in the Windows Task Manager to see how much memory is required/used. If an operating system requires more memory available, it will start to swap out the disk, which will introduce a huge performance impact. If the answer to your question is probably yes.

PS: After adding memory to the host, you must also change the client memory for the virtual machine.

    Hello

You worries are arbitrary since memory Hyper will go up to 1023 MB when you install at least 2 GB of RAM.

I copied here a description on the site of toshiba UK:

    Manufacturer: ATI
type: ATI Mobility Radeon® HD2600 HyperMemory technology support
memory: 256 MB of VRAM dedicated (up to 1,023 MB memory graphics total available using technology HyperMemory with 2 GB of system memory)

  • Upgrade of RAM - I have the part number, but what is?

    Hello

I have a T61 with 2 blocks of ram with 521 MB each. It must be replaced by the 2 GB module if possible. In search of Lenovo pages, I know that the modules of machine Ram is "512MBPC25300NP".

Which means that the acronym for? What should I look for when looking for a new 2 GB module?

    --

You must look for DDR2 PC2 5300 667 Mhz 200 pin SODIMM memory, for examplethis. You can use any generic RAM meets these specifications. There is no need to pay for what is called memory "premium". I buy everything that is cheaper and have never had any problems.

DDR2 SDRAM explains what the average numbers. (Note the ESL 200-pin SODIMM is a variant of DIMM 240 pin.) The first is designed for laptops while the second is for desktop computers).

  • I've owned Adobe CS Master Collection since CS3. Currently, I run CS6 and can't update my software online. I run on a MacBook Pro retina mid 2012, 16 GB RAM, SSD, with the Mavericks 10.9

    Thank you

    Bob

It seems that Adobe has reached the end of the line even by which they entered "desktop publishing." The 'right answer', it seems that you can not update of the CS6 use manual update. CS6 and, on the other hand, the idea of owning your own software and your files is no longer supported.

Who doesn't remember the free versions of InDesign, we all received, even if Adobe has criticized the "bad old Quark" for overcharging their customers. No doubt that Quark was bad (and stupid - in retrospect). However, cloud 'Creative' new to Adobe is even worse than the Quarks value - rent you the software and don't have access to your own work while you pay the rent. We really speak to each other these questions on a Forum depopulated by Adobe? A few moments ago somebody assigned the label of "Right answer" to the first inadequate answer to my question. So now we compete with each other to see who can give the most 'popular' answer in the absence of adequate customer support?

  • HARD drive and upgrade of RAM for Satellite A200 1AE

    Hello

I plan to upgrade my RAM and HARD drive.
I am currently using a 120 GB SATA HDD and 2x512mb ddr2 667 Mhz (out of the box state).
    My questions are:

[1] will a WD Scorpio blue work SATA II 500 GB HARD drive at 5400 RPM on my laptop? If this is not the case, what is the maximum GB for my laptop's HARD drive (if there are any)?
[2] a 2x2gb ddr2 667 Mhz will work? If not, what is the maximum?

BTW, the Specs are Intel Core2Duo 1.73 Ghz T5300's family Vista premium sp2 (preloaded) OS, BIOS Phoenix version 1.20, Chipset intel 945 (I think).

    Thanks in advance.

    > 1] will a WD Scorpio blue 500 GB 5400 RPM SATA II drive HARD work on my laptop?
It should work since the SATA controller is not limited to any size of HARD drive.

    > [2] Will work 2x2gb ddr2 667 Mhz? If not, what is the maximum?
The laptop supports Intel® 945 GM chipset. The upgrade of RAM depends on the chipset.
AFAIK the 667 Mhz Rams should be clocked at 533 Mhz
But you can upgrade it to 4 GB of RAM (2 x 2 GB)

  • Satellite P750 - upgrade of RAM Possible?

Is the maximum capacity memory of a custom built P750 only 8 GB with an I5 or I7 processor?

I'm about to buy a new laptop, but the Toshiba scalability is a concern when others seem to sell the exact same internals but a maximum memory capacity of 16 GB of advertising.

    Thank you.

    Hello

The upgrade of RAM depends on the chipset which is mounted on the motherboard.
As far as I know the some of the P750 are equipped with Chipset Mobile Intel HM65.
So as much as I know that you can upgrade the RAM up to 8 GB. In this case, you can use 2 x 4 GB RAM max

I have a Toshiba Satellite C55-A-1NU and I want to know if it is possible to replace the optical drive with an SSD? Can someone tell me what I need to do? What type of rack and SSD should I buy. Thank you

I also want to improve the ram memory, the laptop has only 1 slot 4 GB ddr3 1600 mhz, but is single channel. Which model should I buy to work in dual channel I use cpu-z to identify the model and it shows me hmt451s6mfr8a do I need exactly this or I can put another ty of manufacturing 2.

This upgrade with SSD is not supported by Toshiba, so everything you do is at your risk. Check this forum please. If I m remembering although some people have already posted own experiences.
I think that in most cases they ordered this caddy HDD/SSD but the drive was not recognized at all.

In my opinion, you must perform these updates.

    RAM
Up to 16 GB of RAM according to specification for laptop, you can put on level and on the lower part under the cover of memory, you should find two memory locations. How to change RAM is described in s. manuals check please page 72.

The memory modules are compatible RAM for your laptop model:
    4 GB DDR3L-1600-PA5104U-1M4G
    8 GB DDR3L-1600-PA5104U-1M8G

  • Upgrading HP HPE H8-1070uk to SSD using the mirror or new installation?

I bought my H8-1070uk this time last year (Oct 2011) and decided to upgrade with an SSD.

SSD of choice is Samsung 803, 2.5 inches Sata III 6 GB/s, 128 Gb. including the kit of accessories and Norton Ghost.

Can we see problems with this choice for my office?

Important information to take into account for the following questions, it's that I did a restore of complete system only 1 months ago. Recovery system was conducted using disks system recovery DVD created via HP Support Assistant at the time of purchase. I also upgraded from 8 GB to 16 GB of RAM only 1 week ago.

I want the SSD as a boot drive for my Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS, as well to run my applications of 3D animation; Autodesk Softimage, Autodesk Mudbox and master of Adobe Creative Suite 6 thus than some other apps from day to day. Then use my HARD drive existing as a second car for the media and personal files, etc.

Copy all my personal files (videos, photos, documents, etc.) on a drive external hard, my HARD C: drive partition is currently at 92 GB used space (I imagine that I might be able to find that a bit smaller) and Partition D: 10 GB 11 GB used.

My basic question is what would be the best for my system and for the future, to create a mirror using the Norton Ghost software or do a clean install?

Own Samsung promo videos of the 830 Norton Ghost seems very honest and will create a complete copy of my HDD to the SSD, fair enough.

However do a few minor readings, there seems to be a fair few who suggest that in order to get the best of the SSD is to do a clean install. I don't really know how I would go to this topic but, would it not as simple as the insertion of the SSD, remove the HARD drive temporarily and then start using the system recovery DVD discs to create the clean install?

What would be the recommendation of HP?

Tips, tricks or general recommendations on this process would be greatly appreciated.

Oh, also is there a slot specific SATA, that I should connect the SSD or are they the same?

    Thanks for your time,

    Steve

Many before you have tried mirror/clone the OS for the SSD and ran into problems. A search on this forum or the internet should indicate what has been tried and failed. There seems to be no direct way to do what you want. The method below doesn't require activation and reactivation if you change most of your hardware as would be normally will not happen if you are using Windows with a standard COA key.

It is a completely clean install and will require the installation of the drivers and software HP, if you chose for her, she.

    (1) download and unzip ABR beta for Windows 7. This is the homepage of ABR for Windows Vista. Please follow the section "How to use" for information and instructions on how to use it. These steps also apply to Windows 7. The 'activation' on your original with factory HP OEM Windows installation hard disk backup, backup the backup files in several locations (USB stick, SD card, external hard drive, etc.).

    (2) download your version (the version that has been preinstalled on your HP computer) Windows 7 from Official Windows 7 SP1 ISO from Digital River. Using the built-in Windows 7 CD/DVD burning software, burn the ISO image of Windows 7 downloaded onto a DVD.

    (3) install Windows 7 from your new "Windows 7 disk" to your SSD, following all prompts as needed. Do not enter a product key Windows and do not allow Windows try to scoped. After the windows installation is complete, run ABR 'restoration of activation' to 'install' the previously saved until the product key and the certificate. Verify that Windows is activated, if not activated... repeat "restoration of activation" until Windows 7 is activated.

    Good luck.

    Hello

1 USB 2.0 to USB 3.0 for a laptop is a change that is very expensive because it will affect to the motherboard to change USB card and even the motherboard itself.

2 RAM: Yes, you can jump to 8 GB of RAM:

Please use Crucial tool, it will scan your machine and tell you RAM adapted. You can buy here or use the information to buy elsewhere:

3 SSD: Your current HARD drive is very good. If you want to upgrade to an SSD, you can go to her but interms performance/price, that's a little overkilled.

  • Upgrade of RAM and SSD

I have two questions about my dv7-6b77dx.

    (1) upgrade of RAM:

I want to upgrade my memory to 4 4 + 2 + 4. What I need to get the same exact 4 GB of RAM (CPU - said Z it's Samsung M471B5273DH0-CH9) or can I get the 4 GB of RAM? I ask this because I do not know if both modules must be the same for memory dual channel. Also, the new Samsung models 30nm with less power consumption while my 4 GB is 40nm. Would it be a problem if I am connected a 30nm and 40 nm?

    (2) SSD:

I want to make sure that AHCI is enabled for the new SSD. I googled and it says it should be configurable in BIOS but my BIOS isn't that kind of environment. My Core I7 2670QM processor and I couldn't have something on the chipset CPU - Z other than "Intel." How can I activate the AHCI or check if it is enabled?

    Thank you very much!

If you want to upgrade memory for the first time, it is installed to work always buy and install a pair of identical modules. Do not mix and match manufacturers or of the different capacity modules or configurations.

The installed chipset is Intel HM65 Express chipset. Your laptop supports SSDS. Normally, you can verify that ACHI is used by checking the configuration of the BIOS. It's unfortunate, but a BIOS HP does not gve you the ability to configure SATA IDE (emulation) or AHCI.  You can use a free utility called PCWizard 2010 to determine what disk controller is installed and the operating mode in. Comes from the following image in Windows 7 and the PC is a desktop computer with an ASUS Crosshair IV Formula motherboard
