  I have a Pavilion laptop dv7 (P/N VZ500PA #ABG) running Windows 7, and even if I was using Windows Media Play on this computer for 18 months without any problem, recently it started to freeze on me sporadically. EHow suggested changes to the mode classic customization and uncheck the box, shadow under icons-no dice and stop video acceleration - my computer won't let me, but I went to the ATI Catalist platform and there was something allowing acceleration when playing WMV files, which I unchecked to see if he'll fix it, but it didn't.
