    Hello

I was wondering if you can run Citrix Xendesktop on VMWare Vsphere Hypervisor free version that does not VCenter.

And can upgrade you VMWare Vsphere Hypervisor to Vsphere upgrade without losing existing virtual machines running on Vsphere Hypervisor?

Not sure about your first question.

But the second question is a definite yes: simply type in a key license and she.  No resettlement, no lost of virtual machines, without interruption.

  • View of the Horizon from VMware and Microsoft Lync 2013

    Hello

I am currently working on a VMware View Horizon project and the cap of the great exhibition is Microsoft Lync 2013. I had the matching between the vdi Lync plugin and the Lync client in the virtual office to work. During the process of matching the right icon indicates the attempt of local loading audio or video devices. When I connect a USB headset it detects and when I perform a test call, I hear only noise and not a good tone. Can I use only Lync support audio or video devices or it can be any USB device? I also mentioned the details of the current configuration of VMware View Horizon.

Overview of VMware View: version 5.2.0 - 987719

    VMware composer: version 5.2.0 - 983460

  • VMware Workstation and Hyper-V are not compatible. Remove the Hyper-V system role before running VMware Workstation

Ouch. I just started to do some Win Phone 8 and development Win, and all simulators are needed for development.

This means that a dev to Win8 may only work on their host... I'm sure it would work in a virtual machine.

Can I make for happy? (Hyper V might have to win here... sigh).

VMware Workstation and Hyper-V are not compatible. Remove the Hyper-V system role before running VMware Workstation

Once you install the Hyper-V role on your host, your host is no longer running Windows 8 as the native operating system.  It runs Hyper-V as the native operating system, and Windows 8 runs as OS management within a privileged under Hyper-V VM.  With the Hyper-V role installed, * everything * runs in a virtual machine under Hyper-V.

So to run a virtual machine under my computer in Windows 8 under Hyper-V, you must be able to run a nested VM.  It's possible with Hyper-V, the hypervisor host, but with the updates in custody, I mentioned above.

  • WAAS 4.5 and Citrix - real field experience, anyone?

Does anyone have experience in the field (a network of real customers, not a lab environment) of implementation of the AO Citrix on WAAS 4.5?

    • What scale of optimization is achieved?
    • Questions or problems?
    • Is it really as seemless, as suggested by Cisco/Citrix?
    • In short, it's rock?

We have more than twenty boxes of WAVE in 4.5.1.  Sites running Citrix XenDesktop via a WYSE terminal see an average of 65% discount.  WYSE Terminals more we more reduction seems to be. (More current data cached).  XenApp traffic is optimized.  We ran 4.5.1 since December 9, 2011 with no problems.  We run it on SRE - 900L, 274, 474, 574, 594, 674, 7341 & a vWAAS-CM.  Everything was stable.

You will need affect the classifier of Citrix ICA full optimization. (TFO/DRE/LZ).

Boring oddity in this regard is that all classifier Citrix traffic comes under the name of the desktop app "remote."  So if you have RDP/3389 traffic that is not optimized and you have Citrix/1494 optimized traffic.  It will be reported under the same name of the application, what makes your reports are displayed with an optimization lower.  If you try to be creative and just rename the classifier of Citrix to use another name for the Application and follow, the acceleration of acceleration/monitor/ICA report will not display your ICA traffic.  You must let the Citrix ICA traffic classifier keep the name of the "Remote Desktop" application and rename all the other air that use desktop remotely to something else.  We used "Remote Desktop - other".  Version 5 and later as 4.5.5 should solve the problem.  Traffic classifier of Citrix will be marked with a unique Application name.

    Hope this helps

  • Is there a known issue with Firefox 21 and Citrix ICA Client?

After the upgrade to FireFox 21 my browser can no longer detect that I installed the Citrix ICA Client and he pushes me whenever I try to run a file from the internet .ica. After several facilities of the ICA Client to the guests, including the uninstall completely and then put it back, I ignored the prompt and tried to launch the .ica file. It will launch 1 single .ica window regardless of the number of .ica files I click on. (Firefox 20 would allow me to run several sessions citrix both.) Also, when the 1 citrix session is open, if I minimize it or make another program to the foreground the .ica window becomes black and is no longer usable because you can't see anything in this window.
    Is this a known issue?
Currently, I had to uninstall version 21 and found a version 20.0.1 Ive installed to disable automatic updates.

Hello Souldysfunction, please try this: enter Subject: config in the bar firefox address (confirm the message information where it appears) & search for the preference named plugins.load_appdir_plugins. Double-click it and change its value to true (a restart of the browser may be needed later for the change to take effect). some information on the issue are explained in http://www.ghacks.net/2013/05/15/why-you-may-have-lost-access-to-plugins-or-extensions-in-firefox-21/

  • Sansa View 8 GB and Windows Vista 64-bit

I have a Sansa View and was thinking about making a new laptop with Windows Vista 64-bit.  I searched on the web as see if it is compatible, but have not been very successful.  Is there anyone out there with a view running a 64-bit or have any knowledge on that? Thank you!

Yes, it is compatible. 98% of the software and hardware produced in 4-5 years are compatible with Vista 64 bit.

  • Differences between "View Update History" and "installed updates".

I have discrepancies between "view update history" and "installed updates".  Updates do not match and there are a lot of differences.  I'll try and link to an extracted image so you can see the differences.
I have a Gateway GM4574 with an AMD Live 64-bit processor, but am running Windows Vista Home Premium (32-bit) SP2,
I found this problem when certain Office updates (KB2760411, KB2760583, & KB2760588) kept wanting to be installed over and over.  This problem is now resolved.
Here's the problem I'm having now...

When I compare what follows, I come with a LOT of contradictions:
    (a) Control Panel, system and Maintenance, update Windows, view update history
    (b) Control Panel, programs and features, installed updates

Please see if your system has the same problem.  I don't know if it will work, but I'll try and link a picture of the views of two control panel so you can see the differences.  Just look at the dates of arrival and you will immediately see there are problems.

    Here is the link to an image I've snipped: https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=95DC3CEDE6DDD9BD! 814 & authkey =! AEwfCYrNsbmnUk0 & v = 3 +
When you click on the link and the page opens, look down the page and you'll see a thumbnail of the image.  Right-click on it and click View Original.  It looks better this way.  It is easier to read.

Again, I didn't know you can see updates two of 2 different ways, but there are a lot of updates do not appear on the installed updates that appear on view update history.

I'm worried about this because I don't know whether or not updates are really installed.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Sincerely,
    Dennis

History is not important, it's the installed updates that are important.

At a certain stage, you can reset Windows Update, thus losing your history, or may have installed updates manually.

Don't worry about this. As long as the computer is updated and the updates are listed under "installed updates", it is essentially.

  • Manage/create/change RAID running VMware host without rebooting.

    Hello

I want to know if it is possible to manage the (changing) configuration of Dell RAID controller on the host running VMware.

For example if I add a few discs for DAS shelves storage connected to the H800 controller, I need to set up the RAID on these new disks and add the new data store in vCenter without rebooting the machine.

    Is this possible?

    My config:

Dell PowerEdge R710 server with iDRAC 6 Enterprise
Storage controller internal Dell PERC H700
External storage Dell PERC H800 controller with two tablets of disc DAS
VMware 5.5 booting from SD card
vCenter 5.5 with Dell OpenManage integration Plugin 2

Thanks to the open tab Integratilon manage in vCenter, I see both controllers and all discs but cannot perform any operation.

I checked and OMIWV can monitor. You can use Openmanage Server Administrator to create new arrays from a distance. If the installation requires a reboot. http://www.Dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=YCYN1&FILEID=3365343039&osCode=XI55&ProductCode=PowerEdge-T320&LanguageCode=en&CategoryID=SM
