Vista SP1 has reduced graphics performance

I installed Service Pack 1 through Windows update today and it decreased my laptop performance much :(
For example my GPU and CPU had 68000 points in aquamark3 without SP1, but after installing did a test and got only 53000.

Later, I removed SP1 and now everything works as before.

Anyone experienced the same thing?

Well it's quite strange because service pack 1 should do the opposite thing and increase performance, as you can often read on the internet.
You have reinstalled your graphics driver too?

To be honest, I didn't use some benchmarks tool to check if the performance has been changed, so I only got a Vista with SP1 integrated.
One thing you can try is to do a complete reinstall of your operating system and after that you installed Vista improve a SP1. Then install all the drivers, tools and applications.

  • Vista SP1 Installation 936330 question

    Hello

I bought a HP Desktop used with Vista Business on it. Vista SP1 (KB936330) shows (two) installed and cancelled in 'history of the Windows Update.  The last time I tried to install SP1 a message stating that "this will take a few hours and your PC may restart several times" appears.  As soon as I started the Setup he quit smoking.

I tried to solve the problem using the method described in the article, "Windows Vista SP1 (KB936330) issue", but it did not work.

At this point I don't know if Vista SP1 has been installed or not - because he says that both cancelled and installed - as mentioned.

Another point that may touch, is the PC has only either 7 on it.  I tried to update IE 9, but whenever an error message appears and I can't download it.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

  • How to install Vista SP1 after that 947366 troubleshooting has failed?

I have Vista Home Premium 32-bit. I want to install SP1 (and, eventually, SP2 before the April deadline, deadline of 2010). I tried the "Windows Update" - it did not work. I downloaded the installation manual - it did not work. I tried searching for an answer in the forum "Install Vista, upgrade and Acivate", and Mick Murphy (Microsoft Partner) referred me to this forum, the forum "Windows Update". This is probably the right forum to deal with SP1 installation problems vis a vis Vista. Could someone please offer some advice on what would be my next step in the installation of Vista SP1 32-bit? To be more precise on the substantive contribution: I met this http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=101139link, which redirects to this link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947366and this link 947366 is where I went through resolution 1 to 4 of the resolution in a vain attempt to get SP1 installed on my computer. In other words, I've tried every resolution 1, 2, 3 and 4 and each result is a pop-up window evoking me the 101139 link. ATER each resolution has failed, I reached the bottom of 4 resolution follows her where:

Note If the problem is not resolved, this content cannot help you. So, you might want to visit the Microsoft Web site at the following address:

which of course makes back off the screen of troubleshooting altogether. I tried to call Microsoft and their lines are busy all the time. I hope that someone else has experienced this similar problem. I did much research on Google, nothing helps. I hope someone in "Microsoft answers" can provide a response to my "question of Microsoft." Again, my question is: what should I do to get SP1 is installed if resolution 1 to 4 of the resolution at this link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947366 failed? The above is the most accurate description of the problem that I can provide, including the specific error codes and I have already taken measures. Please please please help!

    Thank you!

    Paulbyl,
I suggest that you first run the disk error check and make sure your player is no problem.  Then, run the System File Checker to check for problems with the system files.  If he can find and correct and rerun the System Update tool .  At this point, you must perform a clean boot , and then try to start the installation of stand alone for SP1.

If SFC finds issues it cannot fix you will need to perform an inplace of Vista upgrade.  Follow the steps described in this article.

  • Graphics performance significantly reduced after an update

I have a HP Pavilion g4t customizable Notebook PC with 512 MB DDR3 (TM) Radeon HD 6470 M Graphics [HDMI, VGA].

When I got the computer first, the graphics (graphics of Windows Aero and Business/Gaming) were both rated 5.3 or higher on the Windows experience index.

Since then, I think that an update (update of the BIOS?) has greatly reduced the performance up to 2.0 (Windows Aero) and 4.4 (Business/games graphics). What happened, and how can I solve the problem?

The computer is always set to use the Radeon 6470 graphic card - it is not configured to use the built-in standard charts.

Is there a BIOS setting that I can change? Or is my computer just defective and in need of a repair?

As I said a graphics driver could have updated your WEI score. This is not mandatory but the most often occurs when the most current drivers are installed. This happened to me several times as well.

In order to have the correct score of WEI each time I install display drivers that assure me that I uninstall old graphics drivers. After that, restart the computer and install the most recent which ideally is a better way to do.

I also wanted to know after you have installed the latest drivers from the HP site, WEI score window you clicked on "Re-run assessment" or update my option of partition?

If it really bothers you, I'd say he hack and change for what satisfies you . There is a guide available at the link below

WIndows Update asks me to install Vista SP1. I did and got into the infamous infinite loop of SP1 (infinite loop ' configuration updates stage 3 of 3 0% "with Vista SP1). • I don't know if Vista sp1 or sp2 has been installed on the Acer Aspire deskton.

    Hello

A notification came sayng Vista sp1 must be installed. We had just aiinstalle Norton 360, then we have disabled to install Vista sp1. The download is complete and the computer has begun to install three downloads. The first download is installed without problems and went to the 30% bar install the second download when in the middle of the installation, the computer said computer closing screen. I knew we were in trouble, because he read on the screen during the installation do not stop computer during installation. Message came after the computer restarted him comes from message on the black screen, saying that the computer is not close properly and the 0xc01a001d 37038/95074 (\Registry\machine\components\Derived data...). I tried everything to get it started all the suggestions, but still a black screen, the biggest problem with this computer, is there had never been installed sp1, sp2, or any protection because it was purchased, I think that somewhere to 2006 or 2007 may 2008. It is an Acer Aspire desktop computer.

    Thanks again,

    gmax3

If she never had no installed protection because it was purchased, my suggestion is simple, albeit drastic.

Make sure that your backups and serial numbers and product multimedia/installation/etc key is complete and stored on the computer in question.  Restore the system to factory in any way has been given by the OEM, upgrade completely (all service packs and posterior to the service pack updates) and install your anti-virus software. Reinstall your applications on which would not have been restored in the factory reset.  Update all software from third-party manufacturers to their latest versions.  Install all drivers for newer hardware devices.  Restore your personal data on the machine.

You'll find yourself with something you can do better than what you have now.

  • Vista SP1 does not update problems and System Restore returns a message "system restore was not entirely successful. File system and the setting of your computer has not changed"with the error code (0x80071AA7)

    0rignal title: Vista SP1 didn't update problem

So, recently, I was on my computer of gf and noticed she had some updates, it could use his computer which included the SP1 update.  So I went through the process trying to update his computer and he has been a disaster and have had many problems and seems to have tried everything.  It has a Dell inspiron 1525 and has no CD and no key for its program of Vista.  I burned a Vista recovery disk and tried troubleshooting by using that, but have not had much luck.  When I use the Startup Repair tool there is no nothing.  So I tried to use the restore of the system with the Description of "install: Windows Vista Service Pack 1.  He had a restore point saved just before I tried to update to SP1.  Whenever I chose this method, it's but the whole process then in the end it says:

"System restore was not entirely successful.  File system and the setting of your computer have not changed. "

then he begins to list the details with the error code (0x80071AA7) and then gives me the option to close or 'Run System Restore"once again that is an endless loop, because I just end up with the same error each time.  If anyone has had this problem and bring myself through it.  I don't want to reinstall windows because it seems simply ridiculous and plus that she a lot of pictures on his computer and I want to get rid of those.

    Hello

Follow the steps and check if the problem persists.

    Step 1:

I suspect that your security program may be responsible for this. I would suggest you temporarily disable all security software and try the system restore.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software

Note : Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats.  In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Step 2:

As for installing updates is concerned, I you should install them after you put your computer in aclean boot State. There could be a third-party software in conflict with updates. Clean boot helps eliminate these conflicts.

Note: Restart your machine as usual by following step 7.

  • Cannot install Vista SP1, error 800F0816

I reset my computer to factory settings. I went on the installation of the updates that come with, until the time came to Vista SP1. I did the thing, he started to install and when it restarted it sent me to the thing system restore and it has not stopped. I was forced to 'pull the plug' and reset my computer to its previous state before installing SP1. Everything was OK until I did my format. Could this be a problem, that I don't have my original graphics card and RAM on my pc (I have them again).

What else could I give you, so that you can give me the best possible solution. I just want to know where the fault is and how to fix it. Even if I have to buy new hardware or something like that. Could it be, because I did a format and I have all the drivers and other updates, so that my computer crashes after I turn it on in the morning?

  • Equium L40: slow graphics performance while playing a few games

In the past months, I have the same played a few games and have noticed that I'm more in addition to lag screen gradually.

I guess it's due to the graphics card. The graphics card is a Mobile Intel (r) 965 Express Chipset Family, and it is updated with the latest drivers.
I'm on Windows Vista Home Edition 32-bit.

    Appreciate your help.

    Hello

I I think that don t games run smoothly because of the lowest performance chart
I think it s a shared memory graphics card.

This means that available graphics card memory depends on the amount of main memory.
For example you laptop has installed 1 GB of system memory and GPU use 251 MB (128 MB video memory + system Shared Memory System 123 MB)
If laptops use 2 GB of RAM then the GPU could use 358MB (128 MB + 230 MB)

In addition the Vista operating system needs a lot of resources of the laptop. He needs more as a beginning like Win XP OS. The games are unable to use these resources because these resources are occupied by Vista.

As you see it installed (Vista OS) software and graphics card can affect game performance

I think you should try the graphic details of game and other specify settings to a lower maybe level helps.

  • Installation update KB936330 (Vista SP1) fails with error 8007371B code. No one knows what is the cause?

I've had this problem for awhile now and it seems to be no details on how to stop the resulting error code.

The update of the serivce pack seems almost half installed the first time that I have tried (and the first time she didn't).  Whenever I try once again today, the process bar is automatically up to halfway and then it goes all the way to the breast are contiguous 5 minutes and gives this error code.

This update seems important.  I can download all other updates without problem and downloaded system preparation tool already and tried to install the update by downloading it manually - the same problem occure.

    Can anyone help please?

I tried the above and the error persists.  Is there another way?

The only other 2 methods would be:
