Vorbis on sansa

Ogg is nativily supported by the sansa fuze?

I don't know what you mean by natively, but if you are running the latest firmware it will support ogg.

  • Sansa clip + does not see the audio books I have loaded

I got my Sansa Clip MP3 player + for two years and it works very well, so far.  I only use it for audio books.  Recently, I reformatted the player and loaded new books in.  When I went to read, the audio books folder was empty.  I have connected the player to the computer again, and the books were in the audio books folder, where I had loaded.

I've updated the firmware to the V01.02.16A Version, and there was no change.  I tried to reset by pressing the start button. No change.

Memory has 3750 MB with 3135 free, indicating that there are books in memory, but the player does not see the.  What is going on?

That's all!  I checked the format of audio files.  It is the AAFC, with suffix .m4a.

    The Sansa manual says:

"The Sansa® MP3 Player will support MP3, WAV, WMA, secure WMA, FLAC, Ogg Vorbis and audiobook formats.  I guess that AAC is not one of the formats that they support.  So I have to convert .m4a to .mp3.  I guess there are a lot of tools to do it.  Any suggestions about which one is the best?

Thanks a lot for this revelation.

  • Stuttering playback of mono ogg-vorbis files

    Hi all

I recently bought a Sansa Clip 4 GB and updated to the latest firmware (v02.01.32a). I am happy to use obb-vorbis files, but have met stuttering playback when you listen to mono ogg-vorbis files. In particular I listen to an audiobook on librivox.org page:

    http://LibriVox.org/Walden-by-Henry-David-Thoreau/

The first ogg file works, but all others stutter. After a bit of inspection using ogginfo, I discovered that the first file is stereo, while the remaining files are mono. I tried to re - encode using oggenc as Audacity using the nominal flow of 80 Kbps. All mono files I did expose the problem of stuttering.

I then did a stereo version of the file by duplicating the mono track in Audacity. The stereo file I did read correctly. Creating a file mono downmixing the stereo file new work with oggenc produces a file that stutters during playback.

All files read correctly in Windows Media Player with the official DirectShow filters installed.

Anyone else having this problem or know of a work around? I really want to use ogg format!

    Thank you

    Tyler

I decided to reformat and reinstall the latest firmware (using the MSC approach instead of the update of the firmware on Windows). All the ogg files play correctly now.

    Thanks for the encouragement!

  • Need help on the first (Sansa) MP3

I just bought a new 8 GB Sansa Fuze today at Radio Shack ($69).  I downloaded the Media Player 11 MS, but have not yet charged the "rocket". I put in the CD teeny but it seemed that it was just to download music, I didn't want to.  Could someone tell me where to go to get instructions on how to take my collection of CDs (about 70) and get them on my rocket?  Sorry for this stupid question but this is all new to me .  Thanks much for any help.

    TopdogJudy

The only thing that I think that the most important with a collection of music is to convert it into a LOSSLESS audio format with built-in tags info that is accurate and useful for YOU.  Some call it this check-in.  (Don't think the info tag automatically downloaded from the internet will be specific!)

This is done, it is trivial. quick work of transcode to any audio format as you want on your player; your labels will be preserved!  You can re - encode with newer codecs, to a score of different quality or in a format which is good for another player.  For example, currently, Ogg Vorbis is better compared to the size on the Fuze and Cowon players and Nero lc - AAC is the best on Sony and Apple.

I do not use Windows Media Player.

    I use programs include:

Exact Audio Copy (RIP and convert to FLAC)

Mp3Tag (to edit the tags at the top)

foobar2000 (to transcode to Ogg Vorbis)

Winamp is popular with many and deemed easy to use.

Those are freeware, but a beginner can find dbPoweramp particularly simple.

    Method 1:

Run Windows Media Player troubleshooting utility library:

    Method 2:

Open Windows Media Player, press the Alt key, check if the device is listed under Tools > options > devices. "Refresh list".

    Hi, Carl L_942,.

Connect the Sansa Fuze and put into MSC mode. This enabled the majority of users with this problem. Check if it helps you too.

    For more information, see:

    Additional reference on:

Check and change the device to the master or the MTP USB mode

The only problem with Media Player 11 and Sansa device is the synchronization of album art to the device.
