Vostro 1500 - volume recovery D:

Hello

I discovered that on my new Vostro 1500 laptop computer is created a recovery volume D, which takes all the time more than 10 GB.

This volume should be used if you need to reinstall the OS to the factory settings. I don't like this solution of 2 reasons:

1 / if there is a disk failure HARD D volume cannot be accessed

2 / to the vast 10 GB of HARD disk space is just too much

My question is: is there a way to write the volume on a DVD, so that they can be used instead of the volume "recovery D '? For example I don't know if 'recovery D' is bootable or if it is set up something 'special' by DELL.

I asked telephone technical support - the answer is quite simple: "You can not do."

I would be happy if I found here an answer more technical Dell. After all, the Vostro is a laptop "class business.

Thank you

Lubomir

  • Vostro 1500, no S/PDIF sound

Hello. I'm trying out his SPDIF on my Vostro 1500. If I understand correctly the SPDIF is routed to the "S-video" at the rear port and you need to use a dongle to get SPDIF out.

I have a Dell 044CTV dongle (is that the correct type?) which connects on port 7 pins in the back and I plugged a dongle SPDIF coaxial cable, which is then connected to my receiver audio home theater.

I have no sound from the laptop. The laptop is not yet recognized by the receiver when it is plugged. I know that the setting of the receiver and the cable is correct. If I unplug the dongle cable and insert it into my DVD player, I hear, so the problem is either in the dongle or computers portable software or hardware.

I have updated to the latest Sigmatel driver on the dell support Web site. I have indicated the S/PDIF port as the audio driver by default in the settings sound and mute it.

I tried the DTS, Dolby Digital, and tests of rate of samples in card SPDIF properties. Still no sound came out of the computer during these tests or during multimedia playback on the computer.

I don't know what else I can try. I think that the dongle is maybe wrong but I can't find a suitable for the Vostro 1500 series, so I tried this 044CTV one.

There are also other problems, but I don't know if they are relevant - I get these annoying beeps when you use headphones in the headphone jack, it's okay if I play something, or if the volume level is loud or quiet, or if I'm muting it altogether.

If anyone has any input or experience with what I would be happy, it's driving nuts me right now.

You probably need to recharge the device drivers and camera control software (usually included
with the drivers and installed at the same time).

    Login as an administrator.

Double-click Control Panel / Device Manager - Imaging - writing down of the brand and model of camera.
on this subject and on the tab of the driver is version. Now, click on update drivers (who are unable to do anything as MS
is far behind the pilots of certification). RIGHT click on the camera - UNINSTALL - REBOOT - it
    will update the driver stack.

Now, go to the system manufacturer's website and download the latest driver for the camera and the other related camera
software (if not more recent get the same).

Download - SAVE - go to them and RIGHT CLICK - RUN AS ADMIN - reboot after each driver.

Manually look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers.

Installation and update of drivers to 7 (update drivers manually using the methods above is preferred
to make sure that the latest drivers from the manufacturer of system and device manufacturers are located)

Then let windows updates on however prevent loading of drivers who are often older than the
those that you have installed. If updates suggests a pilot and then HIDE it and watch manually to see if their
really is a more recent version (at the time system manufacturer and the sites of the manufacturer of the device).

  • Problems with WiFi on Vostro 1500

gSo, I got a vostro 1500 last year, it has been renovated and came with windows 7 32 bit edition Home premium installed - and the wifi worked perfectly.

I downloaded and installed pcsx2 that in turn downloaded some other stuff that I don't really know.

This is where my dilemma begins. Then the closure, it was apparently installing update, but the battery was 2% and he died while doing this. Subsequently I Plug and windows does not just start, it goes past the "starting windows" screen, but after that it does is display a black screen and never ending start.

After days of constant frustration, I installed a new copy of windows 7 64 bit ultimate, this is where it started. My wifi does not work. He sees available connections, but does not just connect, and even if it is (after a long time) I get a limited connection, diagnosis me say "Wifi connection doesn't have a valid ip address" I tried everything I read online order winshock for re - a corner of the card wifi, re-installed the drivers - I get nothing. So for a week, I dropped the laptop, and when I put it on, it automatically connected to the WiFi in my house, so I unplugged it so that I can use it later, an hour later, I put the laptop wifi is back to his usual behavior

So I tried to install the windows vista that came with it, and it has worked (. _.) Without install me all drivers his summer works fine but the problem is windows vista lag on this system and I can't continue to use it. I need a way to get wifi working on windows 7

From what I can tell its using an intel 3945abg card.

I think to buy a new wifi card, but the fact that it works on windows vista makes me think its more of a software problem, not hardware, and change the map will not solve the problem

    Please what do I do?

The problem might be that you installed an operating system to 64-bit on a machine that has been designed and supplied originally from 32-bit (XP and Vista).

In all likelihood, there is no good driver 64 bits for your Wi - Fi card, which would explain why it works with Vista 32-bit, Windows 7 32 bit, but what you have now.

If you can figure out what adapter Wi - Fi you have, you might be able to get drivers 64-bit from the manufacturer of the device to save the day...

  • Microphone doesn't work is not on my Vostro 1500 with Vista Ultimate

I recently received my DELL Vostro 1500 which has a Sigmatel Soundcard and I installed Vista on it and found that Vista had already installed a generic driver of high definition for him. So, I was ok. But then I found that the built-in mic or even an external MIC does not work. I get a harwarde is unavailable or not installed error. Someone help me please...

I browsed the forums and found a lot of pilots who are supposed to be its Sigmatel for Vista drivers, and whenever I tried to install one of them I get an object not found error or something similar to it.

I have a dual-boot configuration, so I am running XP as well and everything works fine under XP with the drivers provided by DELL. But not on Vista...

DELL technical support, it's not what I expected since I recently moved to this laptop from my previous HP-Compaq Presario 6000 and HP support was great, including the live chat with technical support people who helped me with my problems of pilot with this laptop. I now regret to have bought a DELL laptop, since I do not get the kind of service that I expected from DELL. In any case...

    SOMEONE... PLEASE HELP ME!

  • Vostro 1500 "no audio device" in Windows XP

I bought a Vostro 1500 with Vista and XP Pro has added in a configuration to dual-boot.  Everything works well except that I have not been able to get the Sigma sound card to work.  I downloaded the correct driver (R158235), depending on the site of Dell, installed and still no audio device detected by XP.

  • USB ports not working not not in Windows 10 after update laptop (Vostro 1500)

I updated an old laptop, Dell Vostro 1500 from Windows 7 to Windows 10. Everything is great, the touch pad works, it is much faster than it used to be, one thing is, none of the USB 4 ports work.

I went to the dell website, all I get is an alert indicating the device is not compatible with Windows 10 and that everything is up to date. I couldn't find the specific drivers on the website of intel and their program detects that too, everything is up-to-date

I have google and could not find anything other than sites like pilot scape, which I don't know

In Device Manager, there are 14 points to USB, there are 7 USB Universal Host Controller family with 2830-2836 A numbers

Besides, there are 7 USB Root Hub with an error symbol. When I check the properties I have "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its information of configuration (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged (code 19)"".

I tried to uninstall and looking for changes, that did not work. I also tried fix registry of CCleaner

What are my options, is it possible to get USB ports work on my laptop?

    Thank you

    Hi Benny,.

If please see my previous response to jtrand02 and click on the link for a list of compatible systems.

The model of your system is not compatible with W10. I advise you to stay with W7/W8.1 unless you want to try your luck with W10.

  • Vostro 1500 - everything was suddenly good chart run slow

    Hello

I have a vostro 1500 (as you know) with 8600M gt graphics

laptop worked fine with win 7, play a lot of games (modern warfare 3, border area 2, civ 5,...). graphical setting was low but games run almost smooth.

3 months ago a big problem happened. each associated graph things become slow. lag in all games, or even warcraft 3 (year 2003), I used to play with the highest settings, now same menu have lag.

and the problem is not there, I felt some lag in windows too. for example in the columns resize task manager return with flickering in the text of the lines and was too slow. When to take out a window off the screen and bring it back again a few lag that was not there before. menu start even expanded her child with a lag. I know not 'gal' has any meaning here, but I think that u understand what I'm saying.

I reinstalled windows, directx and drivers installed. test games disabled, problem solved. 15 minutes later after the installation of windows updates. graph slow slow slow.

OK, reinstall win again once, no update. slow once again.

my friend told me to install win 8. OK, after installing win 8. no problem that happened for about 1 month.  but now same problem. I'm going crazy.

Yes, I have installed many software programs, including some software open source, but it is not the question, why in win 7? without any updates and the software installed.

    Help, please

About the adapter, you must ensure that it is correctly listed in the BIOS - with or without battery. If it cannot detect the type of good adapter, it will punish you by slowing down the system. A power supply loose cable broken etc could easily cause intermittent problems.

Pointed out a possible heat problem as "ejn63", is always something I forgot to mention. If you have replaced parts of the thermal system also make sure that the screws (or other) are tight and trim of thermal/thermal paste is applied correctly.
