W530, 10 Windows, fingerprint reader
Hello
I did an upgrade of Windows 10 8.1 using Microsoft systray app.
But my fingerprint reader does not work in Windows.
It works during boot, because I have it set to require a fingerprint when turn on/off the machine.
In the Windows Device Manager, I have a biometric co-processor with a yellow exclamation mark with the following error:
Hello
After the November 10 Windows updated my fingerprint reader works now!

drivers for the Windows Fingerprint Reader 7
I reinstalled the 32-bit version of windows 7 on my HP pavilion dv6565ca computer (product number: gl980ua) but I lost the appropriate drivers for the Authentec, Inc. AES2501 fingerprint sensor fingerprint reader, before it worked but now personal Digitalpersonna (updated recently) 4.11 program can't detect not the fingerprint reader, the logo appears on the logon screen , but the device is not detected.
Can someone give me the link to download the correct drivers? I can't find.
I finally solved this problem by contacting the manufacturer of my fingerprint reader Authentec, he gave me the link to download HP SimplePass (in lieu of DigitalPersona) and the appropriate driver and now it works perfectly.
PROBLEM SOLVED!

Pavilion dv7 6051ea: how to get the fingerprint reader works on Windows 10
Just upgraded to Windows 7 Pro for Windows 10 Pro. The fingerprintreader has stopped working. I find the possibility to set up, but the installation is grayed out as long as no driver available. Can't find one on any forum support? Anyone else having this problem and sorted it please?
On August 11. I've been running Windows 10 updates on a daily basis since the upgrade and now after a reboot of the fingerprint reader has started working? and remembered my impression as well. I guess that Microsoft dropped in a fix for this (which works for me) then maybe something to try?

Windows 7 RTM fingerprint reader and webcam for TX2 driver status
I read somewhere on the site of HP windows 7 drivers for this TX2 - 1027CA won't be available until October 2009. Still I use it now, and the main system works well. There is a problem in the fingerprint reader and perhaps the webcam for me at this point. Until that HP provides drivers updated, I was wondering if there may be versions beta drivers for the TX2 I could try. I am ready to continue using windows 7, but I would try to install the drivers updated as soon as possible. Maybe it's two months away and one month after the availability of the operating system for MSDN subscribers (several companies and developers). I guess this list of reading, some other people who have found what is and is not possible on the TX2 today under 7. Could you give us a brief run down on what drivers are working or not working do not? Fingerprint reader and webcam are of great interest for beginners. My goal is to run what can work.
The WebCam driver installation is not necessary. You can use the MediaSmart WebCam software to test

If this question of the fingerprint will not happen always, but only from time to time, then the troubleshooting will be very difficult
These occasional problems are always tricky
Anyway, if you haven't tried updating the software of the fingerprint in the past, I recommend you to doIn addition, please check if the fingerprint sensor has been enabled in the BIOS.
If this isn't the case, activate the fingerprint and save changes to the BIOS.

Tecra M10 and Windows 7 64 - bit - fingerprint reader driver
Hi all
I just bought a M10 - 17 H and was updated for Windows 7 64-bit system.
I used the drivers [posted by Toshiba | http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/jsp/supportMyProduct.do?].Everything was therefore acknowledged properly share the fingerprint reader and a controller PCI of communication Simple.
I tried the driver provided in the link above (also the uninstall after the driver installation program) useless.
When windows 7 has been installed (new installation) the drive has not been recognized either.I also installed the [driver beta Authentec 64bits | http://www.authentec.com/win7beta64.cfm] yet once anything is.
Does anyone know about the availability of driver?
Thank you
Best regards

EliteBook 8460p: using the fingerprint reader to log on Windows 10.
I recently picked up this 2nd hand computer laptop for use at home. I was happy to find that it has built in fingerprint reader that will keep my children on my account. This is recognised by Windows 10 on the device as a biometric device manager / Validity Sensor. However, I have no options to activate Windows Hello on my account and found nothing on the Windows support on with Microsoft to respond to my problem. The supplied fingerprint reader will get an updated driver that gets 10 Windows to recognize as supported by Windows Hello? Is it already work? Do I need additional software that the laptop was bought only with its OEM Windows 7 Pro OS installed and nothing else. Any help would be appreciated.

Windows 8 fingerprint reader no longer works (need to Flash the BIOS to fix)
I have a DV6-7014nr bought around September of 2012. I have upgraded to WIndows 8 when it first came out. I had no problem with the reader of fingerprints on Windows 7, but do not use for a long time.
As the subject says. I can run it for a few weeks (on Windows 8), and the fingerprint reader stops working. None of the biometric devices are listed in the Device Manager. If I try to load the driver, it does nothing, as if the player is simply not there the responsibility of the driver closes just (with no message).
Peripheral Biometirc in the Panel control says there is no biometric device found and simplepass opens without the fingerprint reader recognized.
The only thing that solves this is my BIOS which comes Insyde to re-flashing. It is noted in the setup of the BIOS relating to biometric devices. I have just discovred that BIOS update solves a problem because there was an update that I applied. Have to reapply the update of the BIOS to fix this seems excessive to us.
Added March 29, 2013:
I just re-applied the BIOS two days ago and already the figerprint teader plug working again. I tried a hard reset (because I saw that as a solution previously, and it is easier and faster to re-flashing the BIOS). Who has shut down, remove the battery, now the power for 30 seconds button, boot the system without the battery. He has not fixed the problem and I can't even understand why the fingerprint reader keeps disabling. A re-BIOS flash solves the problem, it seems that the problem must be with the BIOS software. Oh I also had turned off the "Allow windows to turn off the device to save power" for the biometric device before he went kaput. It doesn't stop of is suckier.
There must be a better way.
Thank you
Hello cjwh888,
Try to restore your BIOS then use Recovery Manager to restore your software and drivers.
Please let me know if it helps.
Good luck!

Fingerprint reader simple Pass stopped working. I used to be greeted by a flashing LED drive. That no nonger can't. Suggestions for the restoration of the features, please.
HI @vdolcourt,
Thank you for your query.
I seized you fingerprint reader was working fine but suddenly stopped.
You did it all change hardware or software because he worked? You did all your Windows updates?
You have the last validity sensor driver installed. The HP Support Assistant can help you in this process. Here is a link for HP Notebook PCs - troubleshooting a (Windows 8) fingerprint reader. The steps should be the same for Windows 10. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver?
Looking forward to your update.

Fingerprint reader - Windows 8 - HP Pavilion DV7 connects not
Have searched high and low for a solution to my problem to scan fingerprint - tried instructions on many site without solution.
Please help-
I have a HP DV7-6c27cl (Pavilion) - purchased 11/2012.
Updated from 8 to 64-bit Windows to purchase and fingerprint scanner quit job with TrueVision HD webcam. HP driver update for webcam works perfectly - running.
Software HP SimplePass is responsible for the current 5.20.233a (DigitalPersona) version.
East went to HP and downloaded the new driver (SP58834) for the fingerprint reader. We sought their updates using the specific model of this laptop and he gave me this driver up-to-date with. Software starts but no joy on the drive...
Simple pass still said "the fingerprint reader is not connected. "Connect to the reader."
Earlier today when trying a number of different patches I had a tap of biometrics in my device manager and another in the Panel... on one of my attempts to find a solution, I deleted these. Is gone now.
Don't know what to do from here. It doesn't seem to be any solution on the Web Digital Persona site either.
Please help and thank you.

I used logg in via the reader of fingerprints (windows 10) with no problems, now the fingerprint reader does not react anymore when I pull the finger. I managed to remove all the passwords in the password manager (still not sure about it as I don't really understand how all the components work together) hoping that would solve the problem. Not the fingerprint reader software keeps asking me to register a new finger. Everything seems to work fine (I can pick a finger to be registered, type my password windowns) until I asked me to draw the finger on the fingerprint reader: nothing happens! The indicator that shows how the finger was scanned shows nothing at all. Looks like the software works, but the fingerprint reader itself is dead. However, looking into the information system the "TouchStrip Fingerprint Sensor' (WBF mode advanced) seems to work fine.
Help, please. I don't have any idea how to find out what's not here.
Thank you very much for the tip! He works in fact :-). Even if it does not seem logical to me, as I never put it in place a front pin - and fingerprint reader work very well even without PIN code. But who cares - the main thing is it works now! So thanks a lot again :-)!

ProBook 4540S: 4540S HP cannot access fingerprint reader to login after upgrade windows 10
Updated for Windows7 professional relatively smoothly. During the upgrade to Windows 10 required an uninstall of the HP tools protect and all files related; I guess it was the program by using the fingerprint reader when I first bought the lap top
The BIOS is configured to allow the biometric device. Device Manager displays the "Validity Sensor" and is the latest version of the driver 4.5.133.0. Made the change of the parameter of gpedit.msc and went to the Admin tab to allow the use of biometric devices and sign in using biometric devices. I even went to the settings of power and unchecked the biometric cutting attribute as an energy saving
Under the windows settings 10 for accounts under sign on options, there is no attribute for the biometric recognition and/or face. I added a PIN in the hope that it would seem, but nothing. Windows "Hello" is none existing
Any help or suggestions appreciated
Well well after having spend hours with tech support windows, they were able to verify that the pilot of validity that HP hs will not work with windows
Forums search has found a link to the Lenovo for an updated driver for the device for detection of validity... It is packaged as a Synaptics driver http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds103635
BTW - Synaptics now has Validity Sensor
Uninstall all HP drivers in Device Manager
The FP reader will show eventually as a unklnown device
Install the pack driver Lenovo Windows 10... computer startup be and the the devive will re - show with the updated driver
What d you know, now Windows Hello appears in the folder accounts, and you can use your fingerprint reader
Shame, that we must go to another source instead of HP update their list of drivers

Fingerprint reader not working not not upon awakening from sleep for the windows login
Hello
I have a new T540P with a validity fingerprint reader.About 80% of the time, the fingerprint reader does not meet the windows login screen after the wake up the computer from sleep mode. It works 100% of the time when starting from a stop position, however. Once connected, it also works 100% of the time. The question arises when you log in to windows.
I tried many things
-uninstallation/installation of the device in the Device Manager and finger print manager pro software
-prints of setting through two fingerprint Manager software pro (lenovo) OR through the windows built in options of the control panel of the fingerprints
-disabling "allow windows to turn off this device to save power" in Device Manager.
Thus, I must say that I have an another T540P I ordered as a replacement. Both models encounter the same problem.
Is it a matter of broad platform affecting all models of T540P? It's frusterating.
