W7 on a T60P - 200783 G

What is someone has the experience to run W7 teacher on a T60P 200783 G. In the affirmative, any special consideration? Kenneth in Stockholm

I am running Win7 - 32 teacher on my T60p.

Note that this ThinkPad CPU can run only 32-bit instructions so the maximum RAM that will be recognized is 3 GB even if there is 4 GB of physical RAM installed.

Performance with 3 GB of RAM and a 7200 RPM HARD drive is surprisingly good for general use like surfing the web, e-mail, office, etc.

  • WARNING - Version Preview + T60p = Fail

General warning to those who think try Windows 8 preview release on a T60p. not sure that they did with the preview version, but it is just terrible. It recognizes almost all drivers for the T60p - especially for the ATi FireGL V5250 graphics card hardware. Not only is the atrocious display resolution, but it's very, very slow: the mouse is moved on the screen as if the mouse is a difficult task in motion.

It is worth noting that I have installed the preview version on my installation of Windows 8 "Consumer insight" which I had already installed some months before. Previous use Preview Windows 8 actually worked pretty well on the T60p, recognized Windows 7 drivers I had for my material and allowed even me to use all my old programs I used in Windows 7.

After you install the Preview on my consumer preview, I simply could no longer use my system. After about a day trying to solve all the problems of driver, I decided to install Ubuntu 12.04, who started working without fault (driver-wise). However, due to some problems of compatibility to work, my T60p is now running Windows XP.

It seems that some people get Vista driver to work with the preview of Windows 8.

Lenovo do support Windows 8 until the official release.

  • T60p, T60 card wireless turns off by itself

Hello, any help will be greatly appreciated. I have a T60 and T60p, which have exactly the same problem. When connected wireless after 20-30 minutes the wireless adapter turns off itself. I loaded the drivers updated. I don't use dial-up connections, Windows XP manages the wireless profiles. I made sure that the computer is not stop the wireless card to save energy. I do not supply manager, but I installed the driver of power manager. The map stops and the wireless light turns off but windows will still say that I am connected through wireless. I hit FN + F5 and card status is disabled but I don't have the possibility to change it to on. It will not allow to do me anything. Also, when I close the lid it won't have to stand by mode. I have to do a full reboot to get the wireless operational return. Any help please, it's really annoying. Two laptops using the Intel Pro/Wireless 3945ABG card.

    Thank you!!

In your definition also change to low power and output maximum roaming aggressiveness.

  • Dead 2623d8u t60p do what model of motherboard, I need?

Hello, I have a T60P 2623d8u with video firegl 5200 and 4 GB of ram. It was an impressive machine, but it crapped finally out. He would not light up when it is plugged in, when the battery is removed or added just quite dead etc. I tried to push the thing of frankenstart power button to eliminate the static energy, but it was a no go. I checked the voltage adapter, as well as the relocation of memory, hard drive, battery cmos etc. nothing worked.

I was happy with it for a long time and would like to just replace the motherboard. What motherboard model number needs and it is expandable somehow?

    Thank you!

    Welcome to the forum!

Sorry to hear about your T60p.

The only 'upgrade' in the conventional sense of the term would be a motherboard with graphics card V5250 leave a model later T60p.

However, you can install a plan of 14 "(4:3 non-widescreen) T61/p that would use 8 GB of RAM and more modern CPU."

It is much simpler to just buy a 14 '' T61/p and keep other parts unit, but that's just my opinion.

    Good luck.

  • Lenovo T60p boot more

    Greetings,

Well, now that I've fixed the fan problem, I'm afraid I have created a.

My T60p was originally a disk with two partitions on it. A 90 GB main partition and a secondary partition of 5 GB. Since I had to re - install the operating system, the 5 GB partition is no longer in use.

I tried Hirens user like Fdisk utility to see if I could use the space. I tried formatting the space with a NTFS file system. This is what I did. Since then, the machine does boot more.

However, using Hirens utility, and instead to start with Hirens disc, I chose to boot from the hard drive using NTFS. The machine starts very well so all my information is there.

How to start without the disk Hirens now? It is no longer me gives access to programs that were on the disc...

    Kind regards

    Jean-Pierre

P.S. I'm trying to fix myself, as for all issues on my laptop, before considering to Geek Squad. Thank you

    for your entry.

Here are the specifications of the machine.

  • T60p on-screen display does not

Hey, just reinstalled Win XP Pro fresh on my T60p. everything works except display it on the screen for firmware operations (volume display and icons when enabling/disabling of the ThinkLight, etc..) FN + F5 and Fn + F7 still displays work. Already tried to reinstall the expansion card driver and graphics OSD.

Here's the weird part. When I installed first, it worked fine. I was looking for a different and found adjustment control panel > display > settings > advanced > OSD Panel. OSD has been disabled. I turned it on, hit apply, and it didn't work anymore. I turned off it again, hit apply and it still does not work. What the...? I haven't the time to reinstall Win XP from scratch, can anyone find a fix?

  • Recovery of the T60 DVDs are compatible to T60p?

    Hello

I have two cell phones, everything first is Thinkpad T60 (2007-FSG) and second is T60p (8741-C3G). Problem is that T61p has WinXP preinstalled. I was intending to do a recovery DVDs of T60 and then restore in T61p. Is this ok? Is it compatible?

    Thank you

The CD does not work in the other system, but if you put the hard drive the T61p in Bay drive T60 and recovery of the T60 media allows to restore the hard drive in the T60 then it would work.

After the loading of the operating system and service partition remove the HDD the T60 and then put in your T60p/T61p then it probably looks like the setting on the laptop has changed and OS needs to be recharged, you can then enter the work recovery partition during startup by pressing the blue thinkvantage button and select recover as long as the plant. Then it would work, but he can ask the serial number, you'd have the other machine. Once the OS finished loading, you will need to download the drivers concerned from Lenovo.com, since the recovery media loaded mainly the series pilots T60.

  • LifeCam HD-6000 works do not with the ThinkPad T60p, Windows XP Professional

I have a Lifecam HD6000 plugged into my ThinkPad from IBM / Lenovo T60p (Windows XP Professional service pack 3).
The camera is recognized, but it does not display all images.
When I check in the Device Manager, the device status field indicates that the unit is working properly.
The only error that appears when I run the LifeCam software. It only shows that "LifeCam.exe has encountered a problem.
If I use any web based video call, the camera is recognized, but an image never appears.

Y at - it a fix for this problem? Is it because it needs a USB 2.0 port, or because I use Windows XP Professional? Or something else altogether?

When I connect it to another laptop (Lenovo Think Pad T450, Windows 7) the camera works very well.

  • SSD of Kingston is destroyed by T60p (error of initialization of 2100)

It is a very known error when you try to upgrade the disk hard thinkpad to SSD.

    The SSD, I bought is Kingston SSDNow V100 Series SV100S2N/64GZ 2.5 "64GB which is this a http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820139421
My thinkpad is T60p 2007CTO. After using this SSD for 1 month with no problems, I got the error message when I restart the system "2100: hdd0 initialization error (1).
My system is Windows 7 Professional.

This error for me, triggered by plugging the ThinkPad series ATA Hard Drive Bay with a Seagate Momentus 500 G HDD internal.
Before that, I used the Thinkpad IDE Hard Drive Bay for a long time.
I'm not sure of making the problem device. Drive hard Serial ATA Hard Drive Bay or Seagate Momentus 500 G?

I tried to upgrade the BIOS without success. I also tried to put this SSD in external USB driver and plug it in Windows 7, Windows XP and Linux. Linux can see the partitions, but cannot format or mount them. I don't see this SSD drive using the Windows Disk Manager. Sometimes Ican see the disc in Windows Explorer, but still cannot read the data in it.

I read a lot of posts before asking for help. Now, I JUST want to save my hard drive SSD.

Any suggestion or solution would be very appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Please let us know how you arrived at this modesty, because many of us have used SSD in ThinkPads because firstly, they became available...

None of the above. You just had no luck with the particular SSD, period. If it's under warranty, it should be replaced by Kingston.

No matter what people would like to believe, SSD are not lacking, even the brand-name-dear... history of TPF some time ago:

  • Generate the '@' character ascii with an ATL sequence on a T60p laptop?

    Greetings,

I have a Lenovo T60p laptop. How to emulate a full 102 key keyboard when it comes to composing as ATL-64 sequences to generate the '@' character ascii. I read the documentation and did not.

    Kind regards

    Jean-Pierre

After you activate the number lock the box red is the num pad and the characters and numbers in the lower right corner of the surface of the key is activated.

    If the "M" button is now a '0 '.

The zero on the left while typing in the ASCII code for the '@' is required for windows - so you ask Microsoft, but not me
