warranty work

I sent my PC in for repair under warranty. It was a bad mother and dead. I just returned it repair under warranty and they reimagee the disk hard back to the factory. This mean I lost all my working hours setting up software, devices, updates, changes and accounts disappeared. I want to know why they have you send your password to get into the machine and reimage the disk hard when there was nothing wrong with it. It's the same drive, so it was not replaced that I marked to say if he has replaced. All the defective condition MB notes and he was replaced. Now I have to once again all those hours re-identification computer delayed again... why?

Well, after they were told that my computer was fixed. My information personnel missing hard drive (about a week to do) and claimed that they have replaced the mother board I always had the same problems with the clock, changing the date and time at random. Yes, I replaced the battery twice and he always does. I bought a new motherboard HP oem for this model and installed myself. No I did not kill the drive, no tattoos some it is. Simple just replace it and imagine that it works very well now, no problem, no problem! Warranty and support HP customer is not worth the paper written on sound. isn't great that I had to buy a new motherboard from HP for my new HP machine and do it myself. Claims that they don't care are true, as many customers as one is not serious for them.

  • HP Envy 15 k277ca: Reinstalling windows 10 after HP warranty work

I bought a HP Envy 15-k277ca for the school, last summer (August 12, 2015).

It was Windows 8.1, and then I have upgraded to Windows 10 shortly after (mid-August).

In July, my keyboard has stopped working and I sent it in for service center HP for maintenance and security.

I came home today and my hard drive was back to 8.1 of Windows, either by a factory reset or a format/fresh install.

I would like to return WIndows 10 but since the free update has since completed & with multiple pages of information I don't have the patience to find my answer.

Any guidance will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hello:

If HP does not replace the motherboard, you should be able to upgrade to W10 keeping your existing files and programs, by running the installation media that you create from the link below from the windows desktop, since W10 has been previously activated when you updated the last time.

You do W10 installation media using the tool of creation of media from the link below.

Or you can install own W10 using media that create you if you don't mind losing files and programs on your PC

When you install windows 10, you select the option "I don't have a product key" and 10 Windows will install and activate automatically because it has been successfully activated when you updated last year.

  • Your iPad warranty 1 year Apple purchased from Kogan?

    Hi guys,.

I plan to buy an iPad 2 Air of Kogan, since I have a discount code to make it cheaper. My question is can I bring it to the Apple Store for repair under warranty or I must refer to Kogan, if something is wrong?

It would really help my decision making! Thank you guys!

The Apple warranty, all warranty work is done with them, not a 3rd party store such as Kogan.  Note that the guarantee is valid only in the country where it was purchased.

  • Question about us / warranty Toshiba UK

    Hiya,

I am planing to buy a Toshiba laptop in the USA and I would like to know how the US warranty works in the United Kingdom. Basically, I would like to know:

    1. where should I register the warranty (American or British)? What is an international warranty? (I might have the product in the case of radio shack)
2 - the registration can be online (i.e. website)?
is 3 - possible for toshiba UK to deal with the product in case of fault under the warranty? or I have to post the phone the dealer/manufacturer in the United States?
4-do I have to pay extra to get a kind of ' international '?

    Thank you very much!

    Hello

To pick up all this information, you should check Toshiba U.S. and Toshiba UK page. I'm sure you'll find detailed information on this subject. In any case, I'll try to give you some answers.

    (1) guaranteed should be registered in the country of purchase. You cannot save laptop US to the United Kingdom.
    (2) I think that Yes. Visit the Toshiba U.S. page under http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_home.jsp
    (3) I don't see that they are not able to deal with it. only, it can happen that repair times will be a little longer because of the timing of the order of material in the United States
    (4) as far as I know that each cell has one year international warranty, but if you live in the United Kingdom you should buy International warranty Extensions to the United States.

To be honest, you should buy laptop in your country, but it's your decision.

    Good luck!

  • Question about warranty 2 years extension updated by Satellite A200-1Mes

    Hello

I was registered on the www.toshiba-europe.com/registration Web site. In the Extension of warranty for free, book was written when I register my extended warranty from 1 year to 2 years limited international warranty. When I look at the site http://www.toshiba-tro.de/unitdetails my warranty work is always 365 days and guarantee spare parts is 365 days. Why?

This is right. When you sign the notebook on the driver Toshiba page then the warranty will extend to 2 years.
You may need to simply wait a day until that data has been updated.

If the guarantee will always show the same State trying to update once again!

  • PC portable HP 2000: 3 keys stopped working suddenly

a solution was never found to the g h, and BACKSPACE key problem... past warranty worked fine last night

    @bookgirl

Thanks for joining the HP Forums.
I'll be happy to help you,

If I understand the keys G, H, and BACKSPACE don't work since last night and here's what you need to do:

Test the keyboard using the hardware diagnostic tool (click here to learn more - Run Tests components UEFI), it may take some time to get through the test procedure, but it does not check if the functionality of hardware keyboards.

If passes test of keyboard, but you still have problems with certain keys on the keyboard, make sure that the language of the keyboard has not been changed.  Click Start--> Control Panel, choose "change keyboards or other input methods", and then click Change keyboards.  Depending on your model, you should have English (United States) - American option selected.  If some different keyboard is selected, which may have been the cause of the failure.

  • Guarantee of the disc is still valid with expired warranty Pavilion?

I have a HP Pavilion g7-1070us laptop with a Toshiba hard drive dead confirmed.  The laptop was purchased in March 2011, at the expiration of the standard warranty in April 2012.

I checked the warranty of the hard drive by the Web from Toshiba site and they say that it is covered until April 2014.  However, they also say that I have to go through the manufacturer for warranty work, since it is part of the OEM.

Is this correct?  If so, how can I get a replacement of the hard disk that is under warranty, when the laptop belonged is not?

    Thank you

    Jim

I guess I was also trying to explain that there is no reason to be angry against HP. They didn't do anything that every other computer manufacturer did not 20 years. It's just the way the world works. Again, sorry.

  • Update video card cancel my current warranty?

    Help please. .

    Laughing out loud

It violates the warranty unless you install PC card damage.  Which would be determined on inspection of the desktop PC will receive if it is sent in-warranty service.

If you go back to your office for warranty work, note that must return the PC to its original state.

Any upgrade of the desktop is a risk you assume.

  • Warranty BlackBerry Z10 Z10 blackBerry

Hello! I would buy a new SIM free BlackBerry Z10 (from Carphone Warehouse, which is the official seller of UK BB according to the page Web of BB). But I come from Hungary, and now I'm here in England, so if I buy a BlackBerry Z10 here, can I valid my guarantee also in Hungary, is it possible to do? Thanks for your replies!

As far as I know, Carphone Warehouse is not official for the Blackberry, just dealer one of the authorized dealers so that you know that you are not buying a stop on the black market. The warranty works only in the country where it is pronounced, so that 3 gave me a unlocked Z10 (I do not know how or why, but I am not it!), I always get a 2 years manufacturer's warranty.

If you left in the United Kingdom to return to Hungary, that your 2 year warranty would still be valid, but you wouldn't be able to get it fixed by bringing back to the United Kingdom and Carphone Warehouse so they can pass it to the Blackberry fix dept to get it sorted

  • Compaq Presario F500 notebook computer Series Warranty Service improvement experience :-(

Earlier Notepad Persario F500 I had stopped working.  There is no video on the computer LCD Panel or external monitor. The laptop turned on, the power LED lights up, but nothing has been seen on the screen. It was out of warranty by one year and I thought it was pretty much dead.  Someone else opened it to see if they could do something with it, but they couldn't.  Early last month, I discovered just by chance that HP had extended the warranty on these books and that my symptoms correspond to what is presented on the following link.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01480071

I've never heard of this before, so I called HP support and the tech told me that the machine was still under warranty and the symptoms seem to fit the program.  A FedEx box was sent to him for a warranty repair.  An email was sent and a tracking number has been given to the area.  It arrived in two days.  I packed the laptop and sent him to HP.  A tracking number was given to me for this leg of the trip too.  He arrived at HP in two days.  The support that has been given has been updated to show the laptop had arrived and was being looked at by a tech.  So far, I was pleased with the way things were going.

After about two days, the link was updeated and asked me to contact HP and charges of $429 has been issued. I called and customer service told me that service technicians found that the laptop was ben opens and some internal damage had occurred because of this.  Before the warranty work could be done other problems should be fixed.  I refused repair and told them to send it back.  On the rear view I should have started my argument with HP right there.

The reason why the laptop has been opened in the first place was due to the fact that there was a problem and I knew it was out of warranty.  If I knew the warranty enhancement program before any damage could be because the laptop would never had been opened.

The shipping to me was a bit mysterious.  No email or tracking number was never given to me for the return trip.  I called customer service three times and got three different stories on this.

The first time I called customer service told me that the laptop was on his way back to gace me and they me two tracking to get numbers.  After that I tried these figures, it seems that it was for the box that was sent to me originally and the other was the number that was used to ship the laptop with me to HP.

Yesterday I called again.  This time customer service could not find any current record of the laptop.  The representative thought that the laptop was probably still at HP where was the work of security without a damage that has been done when it was opened to the top of the mounting.  He told me to call back on Tuesday for an update.

At this point, I was suspicious.  I decided to call again today.  This time the representative told the labor warranty and that he would be delivered back to me.  They said that an email would be sent to me with a tracking number for the return trip.

Later in the day the phone was actually decreased from home by Fedex.  No warranty work were made.

At this point, I'm very disappointed and confused.  It seems that representatives of clients, that I spoke none really knew what was going on with my laptop 100%.  The fact it was sent to me without an email or a tracking number is very disturbing.

More I think about it more disappointed I am with HP in the handling of this case.  HP knows that laptop has problems and still not would repair mine since it was opened and damaged during this process.  The only reason why he opened was in first place because at the end of material he had and the fact that, as far as I knew, it was out of warranty.

I hope really that someone in the 'food chain' at HP reads this and take history to heart.  Management at HP has to do a better job in such cases.

Thanks for the clarification.  I understand that as well.  It's a shame that the video tape was damaged.  If I only knew the building ahead.  He could go in circles forever.  It's like what came first the chicken or the egg.  It's all water under the bridge now.  The laptop was separated out on ebay and I have two other laptops anyway.

  • Void warranty?

    I have a dell inspiron 5558.

I want to replace the optical drive with a HARD drive. Break my warranty?

Dell offers a guide to do such a thing. I understant it is no guarantee for new material (which is pretty obvious) but what about all the rest?

That part is considered as replaceable by the user - that said, any damage to the facility it would be excluded from the warranty.  Also, make sure that you keep the original drive in case any warranty work is required.

  • Laptop repair in Hong Kong, United Kingdom

I am a student of Hong Kong and I will study at Lancaster (United Kingdom) in September

By searching with the global ASP Locator, I noticed that "The Tech Guys ' (TTG) is the Toshiba ASP at the United Kingdom.
However, it seems that TTG only provide laptop repair services to customers of Dixons / PC World / Currys Digital
In addition, "International warranty repairs" is not displayed

If I take my laptop to TTG for repair during the warranty period?

    Hi mate

I m not very well how the warranty works in Honk Kong but
as far as I know European Toshiba are models of laptop computers covered by at least 1 year EMEA and workshop limited warranty covering parts and labor from the date of purchase.

But please note: the Toshiba service availability may vary by country and by product. Please see the terms and conditions of the service purchased for more details in your country.

As far as I know, Toshiba offers warranty extensions.
In my opinion, you must extend your warranty to something that would cover the damages for laptop internationally.

  • iSight Camera replacement program

    Hello

My iphone 6 more qualifies iSight Camera replacement program. However, when I try to give the phone to the dealer - Saprk in this case - that sold me the phone, they said there is a crack on the screen of the phone, so I have to fix the crack before him presenting the program. Otherwise Apple will not accept it, is that true?

If it is true, just to find a third party phone shop to fix it? Or I need to find 'Authorized Apple store' to fix it? I'm worried on that spark/Apple could say the screen of the phone is repaired by unauthorized workshop, so they accept it for iSight Camera replacement program.

    Thank you

    ironwires wrote:

    Hello

It's usually Apple's policy that the phone must first be condition and essentially intact before they do everything "reminds" warranty work because there may be other problems with the phone that could be exacerbated by this secondary problem when an attempt is made to solve the original problem.

If it is true, just to find a third party phone shop to fix it?

Bad idea. If you do this, then you have essentially canceled warranty and Apple has no obligation to honor the warranty and thus to fix the camera.

Or I need to find 'Authorized Apple store' to fix it?

Fix. But Qatar, the phone company IS the authorized service provider. I could be wrong, but check in the support section of the Qatar of the Apple site to confirm.

    Hello

Basically, your hard drive is defective and must be replaced to correct the defect, if you are still in warranty please see the link below for details HP will verify that your hard disk has failed by using the ID of the failure.

    http://WWW8.HP.com/us/en/contact-HP/WW-contact-us.html

If you are out of warranty, you will need to replace the drive yourself or take to a COMPUTER shop local (Hp also out of warranty work)
