What ink cartridge needs to be replaced

Photosmart HP 5520.  How can I know what ink cartridge needs to be replaced or should all be replaced at the same time please?  I've already replaced the black one.

  • HP ENVY 4502: New out of box want 4502 says 'the following ink cartridges need to be replaced.

    I bought a new HP ENVY 4502. I have out of the box, follow the installation instructions precisel before 4.9 step. The printer says 'Cartridge Install' with a blue under circle. I can't go any further.

    I turn the machine off and on again and everything looks OK and I can continue with the installation.

    Is this normal or does indicate that there is a problem with the new printer or cartridges provided?

    Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I'd love to help you with your newly purchased 4502 envy. From your description, it seems that you have seen the 'Installation cartridge' message with a blue circle and could not move forward through the installation until you turned the printer off and on again. Your message, it sounds like once you have turned off the printer and turn it on again you were able to complete the installation, is that correct? I think that maybe there was a minor hiccup and the printer does not detect that the cartridge was installed, I don't think that it is an indication of how the printer will behave in the future.

    I have asked questions about this at Best Buy and I was told the same thing. Unfortunately, it can't be avoided as you say. It is very expensive and as I said, I'm looking to buy a new printer, a laser printer this time.

    58 57-56 best combination if you need to print on plain paper.  Excellent for photo printing.

    58 57-59 best for photo printing, especially for the B & W photos or photo with dark contrast.

    The black cartridge is the right side of the printer, next to the yellow cartridge.  The black cartridge is larger than the other cartridges.   The Photo cartridge is adjacent to magenta.  Additional information that can help identify the correct cartridge are shown here.

    During the warm-up routine, it will check all THE components, including the inks. It may stop here that something is missing or not right.     The 8600 Officejet has separated from the inks and printheads.  To avoid damage to the print head, ink is required, and the printer hangs printing once the ink levels are too low.  See here for more information on how the ink is used.  The Officejet 8600 is an IIC printer in the vocabulary of this document.
