What turns off mode 'sleep'?

I can't find a description either online or in the user manual.

To be honest I don t understand this issue.

Sleep is a power saving state that allows a computer quickly resume the operation of full power (usually in seconds) when you want to start working again.

Put your computer to sleep is like suspension immediately of a DVD player, the computer stops at what he s done and is ready to start again when you want to return to work.

  • IdeaPad u310 turns off during sleep

    I have a u310 ultrabook ideapad

    500 GB hard drive

    32 GB ssd

    Core i3

    running windows 7

I have power options configured so that it goes to sleep when I close the lid. That's how I always put to sleep (I never press the power button or use the option to sleep in the start menu)

The machine will stay "asleep" for several hours (white status on front flashes). Then at a given time (6 or 8 hours later) turn itself off (seeing status led is out)

I looked through all the windows power options and options lenovo energy management to see if I could find the setting that is controlling this behavior but have not turned up anything yet. I Googled it a little, but have not found someone else describe the same question.

I saw this happen while that plugged and not plugged. When I turn it back on, the battery charge level. I thought initially that the battery are dangerously low and it turned off or went into hibernation to protect themselves, but that doesn't seem to be what is happening.

I was wondering if anyone else has seen this happen. It doesn't really seem important now since even when he died, it starts windows in seconds. However, the system is still brand new and new systems tend to start very quickly. If Im wondering if in the future I'll see degrade startup time.

    Thank you!

    Hi Iso,

same behavior with my U310, there is also no Hibernate option to select,

Instead, after sleeping for a few hours, the machine automatically extended.

    This is a new feature.

This computer is asleep after 10 minutes and the scan aborts and long printing print jobs. I would like to deactivate "standby"

    Hi Don Roberts,

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Community.

According to the description, the system goes into sleep mode after about 10 minutes and he abandoned jobs scanning and printing for a long time. Now, you want to disable the mode standby on the system.

    Certainly, I understand your concern.

I would suggest trying the following steps and check if that helps.

    1. Click on the power icon on the tray on the taskbar and then click on "Power Options more." Will launch a new window.
    2. Click on the radio button 'High Performance' under 'Hide supplemental pension plans' and then click on "Change Plan settings". Will launch a new window.
    3. Click "Never" in each of the categories apart from the following drop-down list-"turn off screen" and "Put the computer to sleep."
    4. Click "save changes." "Sleep" mode is disabled.

  • Cannot turn off option "sleep and fresh."

I can't turn off the option "sleep" and fresh. I did not need, and it disrupts the functioning of my scanner. Apparently, we should have two types of USB ports: with the sign 'Flash' (used for the options 'sleep... ") and normal. I have on the left side of my black ports two laptops and Satellite on the right two blue ports.

I can't find the sign "lightning" anywhere and sleep... ' icon appears whenever I plug the scanner; This happens for all 4 ports. I entered the "sleep...". ' Set up the menu and try to disable this option, but it does not work. I tried to uninstall the option "sleep...". ', but it does not appear on the list of programs, you can uninstall.

We should be able to completely eliminate the options that it is not necessary, but I can't manage it.

    Hi Dan

Sleep and charge option can be disabled in the BIOS settings. Have you tried to do already?

  • Y580 with Win 8 Wireless keeps itself turning off during sleep - new edition.

    I have a newer Y580 with Windows 8.

I've had this computer for months and the wireless worked perfectly well. I did no new changes and updates that I can remember recently have run.

Wifi works only after disablng of the wireless device, the reactivation of the device and then clicking on "Diagnose" from the popup menu of the device.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

How can I get off Brother MFC-7420 mode "Eve".  Does not print. Help, please.

    Hello

SLEEP mode reduces power consumption while the computer is idle. (= IDLE time machine remain without any work to do).

After an amount of time the fall of IDLE, machine (MFC 7420) mode IS standby. Don't SLEEP mode use average almost no power. Default setting is 5 minutes. Putting average here 00 after 0 MINUTES of a job, (copy, print, etc) the machine will go into mode 'SLEEP'. Which only affect the response time of the machine (will be more) when you send a job to her.
