  A problem in class with the HP Pavilion laptops, white screen issues. Note right on my pavilion dv6 1 year that a black screen is natural every day.   I try now technical scanning it did not help. It gets worse! I'll send the laptop to HP for repair. It a good thing that I got a year extra 1 warranty when I bought this laptop. I was checking the sites online and cards mothers cost between $ 200.00 to $ 300.00. I also have problems with this laptop.

  laptop worked fine with W8.1, but after installing windows, 10 screen is blank with power supply is plugged in.   I had the same problem.

  If you go into the power settings (right click on the battery icon), select additional power settings and change the power plan that you use.  The brightness slider is the wrong way autour if you selected it to its maximum intensity is in fact completely black.  Move the cursor to the other end and save the settings (nothing will happen as long as you save the settings).  The reason it's ok on battery is that the cursor is somewhere in the middle.

They changed my hard drive by saying it was broken and charged me$ 300 for it where as all I really need is a tighter cable. Manufacturing defect.   You may be able to create a Live CD. This is a CD with an alternative operating system that runs completely from a CD rather than your hard drive.

  Using a Live CD, you can access your hard disk just like you acceding to a flash drive. You can copy and paste your files from the hard drive of your laptop computer to a flash drive or external hard drive. You will need to scan that disc flash drive/external hard with a reliable anti-virus program before opening or transfer these files to avoid infecting a second computer.
