  • My Windows XP pro would not let me change the option 'Use the home screen', so I removed a vital .dll file. I can't start Windows now!

My Windows XP pro would not let me change the "Use welcome screen" option under: user accounts/change the way users connect or power off.

He gave a message to the effect (I forgot to write it!) "a recently installed program does not change this setting. Search in the file named "RtlGina2.dll for a clue. So as silly as I can be, I did a search, finds the file RtlGina2.dll in the Windows/System32 folder and cut and paste on my desk. My thought was to isolate this file to see if it will address the problem of not being able to change the option use Windows screen.

Now, I can't run Windows! It gives a message that this file RtlGina2.dll is not found! Specifically, it says, User Interface failure. The UI for logon RtlGina2.dll DLL failed to load. Contact your system administrator to replace the DLL or restore the original dll.

How can I replace the dll if I can't even get started? Help, please! I know just enough to get me in trouble I see.

    WyoPathfinder,
Are you able to boot mode safe mode with command prompt?  If Yes, then you can search for the file "dir /s /a RtlGina2.dll" lists the location where you moved to.  Then you can just copy (path\filename) c:\Windows/System32\(filename)

If you do not work in safe mode, then you can boot from a XP disc and go into the recovery console and do the same thing.

Hope that helps. QQ learn manage!

Uninstalled emet but after the applications would not start. Internet Explore tries to start but flashes and disappears, even with Excel. Word starts but gets an error when you try to save. Lucky got Google chrome from another pc and installed so I can at least access the internet. Reinstalled Explorer, office repaired, cleaned the registry, but still no start. What should I do?

A moderator has moved this thread to the programs Windows of Feedback Forum Forum.

tried, nothing worked so I uninstalled office and re-installed from disc. Explorer 8 still does not work, but I uninstalled a with explore 7 updates and automatic update started and explore 7 worked. Thought I'd try installing explore 8 new. It worked, even if it failed with the Download Manager. Now all back to normal. I would be careful about the use of EMET, unless you know exactly what you are doing. Not a lot of faith in either the Download Manager.

  • Windows Firewall service does not start after the removal of Virus

    Hello

I believe that my son's computer has been infected with the Trojan.Agent.Ed virus.  I managed to remove it (from different folders in AppData), but a few vestiges remain of course.  The windows firewall service does not start - it throws an exception to access denied on startup and when I try to start the service manually.
I tried to run the Sysinternals Process Monitor to display all events ACCESS DENIED and checked the permissions on the key to registry MpsSvc in HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\services and compared to a corresponding Windows 7 machine.  I've even exported the key MpsSvc and sous-branches of the laptop in good health and tried to import into a failure, but the import does not seem to occur, even if it gives a message "imported".
I also tried the troubleshooting of Windows Firewall that confusedly says:
"Windows could not start the Windows Firewall... Not fixed
"Set permissions for the registry keys involved"... succeeded
"Windows Firewall service is not started. Not fixed
    "Starting the Firewall Service"... succeeded
Any ideas would be most appreciated.
    Thank you.

  • Windows xp: services do not start the access denied error 5 or error 1068

Original title: windows xp: service does not start

win xp: none of my important services like firewall, DHCP or the server does not start.  Everyone says error 5 access denied or error 1068 could not start dependencies... Please help

    Hello

    1. do you have security software installed on the computer?

Try the methods provided below and check if the problem persists.

    Method 1:

I suggest that you disable the security software and then try to start the service and check if the problem persists.

    Note:

Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 2:

You will also need to start long-term services and check if that helps.

To view service dependencies, click the link below.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/srvdep_view_service_dependencies.mspx?mfr=true

    Method 3:

Check if the computer isn't on selective startup.

How to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state

Configure Windows XP to start normally.

    (a) click Startand then click run.

    (b) type msconfigand click OK.
The System Configuration utility dialog box appears.

    (c) click on the general tab, click Normal Startup - load all device drivers and services, and then click OK.

    (d) when you are prompted, click restart to restart the computer.

  • My Live View would not start or start...

Had this problem until I saw all of a sudden screen cleared and I could not start no matter how hard I pressed the buttons. In order to reset I took it to the store I bought. The display took the piece and after almost 2 days he returned saying that COMTEL would not cover up for accessories. I called the service center and asked how when offers a limited warranty, they are supported. This gentleman had no answer, but that he would accept neither of my room. Instead he suggested me to get a replacement from the store, I bought. As we were talking about the issue, the display has tried to load my mode live view and the red light on to my great surprise, which indicates that it worked. Then he started to initiate and work. When I got home, I got to know the mode Live View has had an update, I did. 2 months after there was no question too... But still today, after a full charge, it would not start again. I tried to plug into my laptop to update the software, but my laptop indicates that the USB malfunction, indicating that the Live View mode is a.

I don't know what to do... I love my Live View... Its great use while driving, on a session and in places outside, where the silent noise your cell phone ringing...

But, I think that the problem starts, if we have to charge the unit. Which could be considered if you are developing a software update for the same.

Sorry to be too eloborate... Thank you for your time.

First of all - welcome to the forum!

Where are you from and how old is your LiveView? All the accessories are getting 12 months warranty on most of the markets (6 months in some markets).

It might be that the service contracted by your dealer Center isn't HVC (high volume Center). They should, however, help and if so send the LiveView to a service center that allows to fix it.

You can try to contact local support Office and ask for a service center that can fix your LiveView.

Be sure to choose your country in the drop-down menu for the displayed correct phone number.
