Windows 7 academic professional release allows homegroups

I have a copy of Windows 7 Professional loaded on my computer that I bought through my school. I try to add the computer to a home group created on another computer in my home that is currently running Windows 7 Home Premium. My computer sees it's a homegroup on the other computer, but is unable to reach. In addition, all computers on my network are seen by other computers in the network tab. Are academic versions disavow part of a homegroup?

There are many reports of the Homegroup is very flaky function.

Bin the homegroup and use proven working group. (It does exactly the same thing...)

  • Permissions in windows 7, «you are not allowed to save in this location...» »

    Hello
I have recently reinstalled the RC of windows 7 to windows 7 after its release, since the reader that I use to store most of my data etc won't let me download files to a folder on the disc, I get the message "are not allowed to save in this location, you want to save in the"Chocolate"instead... I have administrator rights and set permissions on all the folders for. me, I have watched many forums microsoft no, only to discover that I tried all the suggestions here :/

    Hello Marilyn,.
Sorry its taken if for a long time to get back to you, I almost forgot this thread, I found a 'solution', which means I just download the files every time windows I would and re - arrange them later... but I would rather sort... so to answer your questions...

I'm developer/technician... and just on main computer, I always do a fresh install, then Yes, it was a clean install, I formatted the drive as the windows RC version 7 is installed and on the new Windos 7 instead.
The user account is the one that I created during installation... 'Chocolate' and has rights admin etc...
I have not tried to create a new administrator... but I don't think that's the question that I had some success with the player and did all my shortcuts 'user' (documents pictures videos music etc.) in folders on the same drive, well, the folder that I use for downloading and another which I use to store/organize applications install files or utilities etc doesn't let me download for them. I can copy do them things, create new files and folders, etc, but all this "permission administrator" needs to give in this case I just click ok...

The clean boot is an idea... but what will really prove something that runs at windows startup is the cause? So what that it either from 60 to 100 processes running at the same time, that it sounds pretty useless in my opinion, so research will start for whoever it is :/

I thought just disable UAC all together, which could shed light on the issue... I don't mind given this security feature, I usually know what im doing and have a good knowledge of what should and shouldn't tbe running etc, often even catch the virus before my antivirus... Speaking of which, this problem occurred before that I have nothing installed on the machine, it is trying to download the latest drivers after the new installation that I first noticed the problem...

The only other thing I can think is, perhaps, when I set the permissions and or possession of the car it does not define correctly and windows always "think" I don't have permission?:

    Look forward to your thoughts

  • Upgrade to Windows 8.1 Professional

I just ordered a XPS 15 Touch, which has 8.1 Windows 64 - bit English.  I want to upgrade the machine to Windows 8.1 Professional 64 - bit English.  I need to know how to upgrade proeprly.  I have a few questions:

The upgrade is a safe thing to do?

Should I get the upgrade or get a Dell technician to do the upgrade?  What do you recommend?

If I do upgrade myself and you are having problems, can I speak?  Dell or Microsoft?

The upgrade affects my extended warranty?

The upgrade is fairly simple and fast, requiring only a reboot.

Click on start and type "anytime upgrade".  What you need to do is enter your Pro license key, wait a few minutes, then restart.

It will NOT affect your warranty or existing data.

  • Windows cannot remove your computer from homegroup

    Resolved/Homegroup remove homegroup

    Hello

    Method 1:
Temporarily disable firewall and antivirus on each machine.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off
Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks

    Method 2:
You can also follow these steps and check:
    a. go to the control panel and access the system and security.
    b. go to administrative tools and then double-click Services.
Locate and stop following 2 services, after that try to leave the homegroup. You can also set the startup type of the services disabled.

I have the Satellite L650 - 15G with Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium edition. Due to some limitations of this OS, I want to upgrade to Windows 7 professional since I am in Dubai, WAU is not available for me. I called Microsoft and they said I have to get through retailers.

My query is, is it all Toshiba support available in the UNITED Arab Emirates, to upgrade the operating system? Toshiba allow the upgrade through the channel of the where I bought my laptop?

    Microsoft is not good!

    Hello

As much as I know there no support for Toshiba to upgrade the operating system. Only the preinstalled OS will be supported, and some models are available with different versions of Windows.

In any case, I think that Microsoft is right and you will need to purchase a Windows 7 upgrade disk. Using this disk, you can start the upgrade. This should be possible without new installation so that all programs and data will not be erased.

The recovery set supplied with the computer should find the default computer.  Probably will not even need to enter the key.

Don't forget to patch (probably manually) with SP1 and SP2 after you're done.  Then download the updates (MUCH) released after that.
