present computer operating system is Windows 8.  Also want to use Windows 7 in the same computer.  Can also work well together?

Hello

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community forums!
If I understand correctly you must have Windows 7 and Windows 8 on the same computer. You can have several operating systems on the computer by performing a dual boot on the computer.

See the steps in the links to perform the dual boot.

Install several (multiboot) operating systems: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Install-more-than-one-operating-system-multiboot

I can have several operating systems on my computer (multiboot)? :http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Can-I-have-more-than-one-operating-system-on-my-computer-multiboot

Boot from the media that you have created to install on another partition:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/boot-install-partition-media-usb-dvd

Please post if the problem persists, we will be happy to help.

You can if you buy a commercial box full of Windows 8 version.

If you buy a version upgrade, you can, as long as the new computer has a licensed version earlier of Windows on them.

  • I have a computer that runs XP and used to run on Vista. The computer came with an activation key for Vista. What should I do if I want to return it to Vista?

I bought a brand new computer, so I can't remember if it came with a Vista installation CD or if this content is available online. As far as I know, the activation key was initially registered under my name.

Also, if I succeed at, go back to what it will do for installed programs. Should I install them again? What about programs that come with a limited number of licenses, as a McAfee antivirus?

    Hello

If you reinstall vista, you must reinstall all THE programs

Here are the different ways to reinstall Vista

Contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

    ____________________________________________________________

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F8, F9, F10 or F11 or Alt + F10 or 0 to start to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

    __________________________________________________________

or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

  • users and internet accounts. -Account that a single user can connect to the Internet at the same time

When I am connected to the computer, and I 'switch user' other user accounts, cannot connect to the internet, unless I have complelty "log off." How can I fix? I should be able to stay connected with the windows open, so I can continue when I get back.

I should be able to stay connected with the windows open, so I can continue when I get back.

It depends on your network, there'S no connection.  For example, it could certainly happen to a user who was logged only under that user.   However, in this case instead of completely disconnected the first account you could probably have the first account log out and hang up the connection.  Then the second account probably could dial and connect.  FWIW, I think a DSL PPPoE user might see similar symptoms.

  • If 'error exe win32 not valid' and the program runs what are the consequences

running 32-bit applicaation on win 7 and receive "not valid win32 application" error message.    the application continues and it seems to work, but what are the consequences of running the application?

    Hi Wayne,

Get the error: not a valid 32-bit application can have several origins:

I have listed some of them below.

File is corrupted, bad or missing:

Ø If the hard disk is damaged or bad, it can cause work programs to fail, either because not all data can be read from the hard disk the program is damaged on the drive. Run scandisk and defrag on the hard disk to check for potential errors.

O if you run the program from a shortcut on the computer, verify that the program is still on the computer. In some cases if the program is no longer installed on the computer, you can get this error.

File is not designed for your version of Windows:

Ø If you try to run a program that is not designed for your version of Windows, you can get this error.

Ø although many old programs designed to work in older versions of Windows work with new versions of Windows, unfortunately, not all programs will work.

O if the program is an earlier MS-DOS program or start program Windows, you will get this error.

Ø If the program is designed for a 64-bit version of Windows and you are running in a 32-bit version of Windows, it does not work and generates this error.

File is a virus, worm or other malware file:

Ø this error can be generated by a file that is a virus, worm, Trojan horse or other type of malware file. Often, this will result because the antivirus installed on the computer will not allow the file to install or run. Try to analyze the file to check, it is not a virus or infected.

O if the file has been checked and is clean, it is always possible that the virus protection program or another program installed on the computer is causing issues when installing or running the program. Start the computer in Mode safe and try to run the program. start the computer in Mode safe will be that nothing is running in the background that could cause this problem.

    Hardware incompatibility:

Ø If you get this error during the installation of a program, it is also possible that the CD-ROM drive or the drive that you are installing the program from is not compatible with Windows or has drivers that are not compatible with Windows.

O download the latest drivers for your CD player or other of the manufacturer of the computer or the manufacturer of the equipment. (Microsoft does not pilot for other materials)

Hope one of the suggestions above will help with your problem.

    Hello

Before purchasing Windows 7, see if your computer can run.

Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.

If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.

  • I have 2 versions of windows vista running on my computer. One is before it crashed and it took all the RAM (Ram)

I can't clean the discs because I can't load any programs because the memory has faded.  So I can not put a page of my computer desktop or download programs, I need to get my images that I have on the other program running.  I can't open one of these programs because I don't have the authorization even if I was always the user and administrator.  What I would do.  Can I add more memory Ram?  Can I remove the old stuff that I can't open anyway.  DLLs etc.  I downloaded vista 2pr, but it does not work.

    Hello

Here is the information from your other question here about it:

"I can't collect any information of my system information page."  When I connect I get redirected to a page that asks me what version of vista I want to open.  One is Microsoft vista and the other is windows vista.  The Microsoft is the only one that works. The other takes me a blank page. »

"I have 2 versions of windows vista running on my computer. One is before it crashed and it took all the RAM (Ram).

I suggest that you save your data and reinstall the operating system properly.

There are several methods to reinstall Vista.

See what methos works for you.

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

And if you do not score a manufacturer of recovery on your hard drive, you should be able to make your own recovery from her disks to reinstall the operating system.

Go to programs > name of the manufacturer of your computer > then their system or recovery tools software topics for them, depending on how it is formulated.

If you can't find any reference to it, contact the manufacturer for advice on how to make these recovery disks.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

"How to activate Vista normally and by Activation of the phone '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/84488-activate-Vista-phone.html
