The screen goes black after 10 seconds of inactivity. How can I adjust this to 45 or 60 seconds or more?  (I'm new to Windows 7.

Warning: Be careful when you change the BIOS settings. The BIOS interface is designed for advanced users, and it is possible to change a setting that can prevent your computer from starting properly. BIOS update should be made only if necessary (to solve a compatibility problem, for example). It can be a complicated process, and if an error occurs, your computer could be rendered inoperative. Be sure to observe the instructions of the manufacturer.

  • screen on my Philips 109 B 6 monitor suddenly began to turn off after 15 seconds of inactivity in my operating system to Windows 7

For four years, I had your desktop ThinkCentre with Windows 7 as operating system and a B 109, 6 of Philips monitor. A few days ago the screen started to go dark after 15 seconds of inactivity, whereas previously it took several minutes of idle time to do this. The screen can easily be brought back to life by pressing a button on my Logitech Classic Keyboard 200, but it is annoying and frustrating to have to do this or to continue to press an arrow key to stop the screen to go dark.

I'm not aware of having changed parameters except recently, in a vain attempt to solve this problem on the basis of proposals on various Web sites. I'm aware of have installed recently all of the new programs. There is some automatic updates of Windows 7, and I was wondering if one of them is the cause of the problem again.

    All suggested diagnoses or treatments?

Chances are it's time to replace your screen with a modern.

    However, first try this:

    1. Start the Globe
    2. Type Power Options in the text just popped up box
    3. Click on change plan settings

Check the setting "turn off the display.

My MacBook 2015 12 "retina screen went black, all this experience?

This occurs when you wake up from sleep while opening the screen? I have this problem when trying to open the screensaver macbook, aka black death simply showing the mouse pointer. Genius bar is 2 service attempts to solve this problem; subsequently replaced by macbook brand new. Guess what... it again just two or three weeks later! I think it's an inherent problem with this line of macbook 12 inches early 2015. I'm decided to resume to the genius bar and will ask them to replace it with the new model of 2016.

  • Windows 8 Pro will sleep after 60 seconds of inactivity

I just upgraded via a clean install of Windows 8 Pro. Now, the computer to standby / sleep after 60 seconds of inactivity. Interestingly, this problem occurs only once the machine has already gone to sleep once in this feeding cycle. In other words, if I start from a cold, start the machine will follow the diet plan appropriate (screensaver after 10 minutes, sleep after 2 hours) until what he went to sleep once, after which it will go to sleep every 60 seconds of inactivity.

The system event log indicates "42 Kernel Power event: the system between sleep.". Reason to sleep: System Idle. "But it does after one minute of inactivity.

I have reset all electrical energy plans, I created my own power management. Hybrid sleep is turned off. I have run the checker (sfc/scannow) system files and I've searched the forums largely unanswered.
It is a customized desktop machine never had this problem on Windows 7, this is a new behavior for windows 8.

So, after a lot of digging and try a lot of things, the solution below worked for me. But if someone can verify it worked for them, that would be great:

It seems that maybe Windows to view the return of sleep as a remote activation which apparently expires to slow more quickly than the other wake ups. To change this feature, delete the following registry key: (perhaps using the power button to go back to sleep as suggested would be a work-around?)
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerSettings\238C9FA8-0AAD-41ED-83F4-97BE242C8F20\7bc4a2f9-d8fc-4469-B07B-33eb785aaca0\DefaultPowerSchemeValues
To do this, Win Key + R (displays the run menu), and then type "regedit.exe" and navigate to the location of the key above. For more security, you need to save (export) this key before you delete it.
Alternatively, you can change each of the secondary keys instead of remove them. Each corresponds to one of the power management. If you choose ACSettings you choose a behavior for when the machine is connected, the DCSettings are for the battery power. If you change the key switch 'decimal' value is in seconds and can be changed to any value you choose.

  • Screen remains black/stop after having turned off to save energy.

I have this problem on two different Porteges with
    Windows 98 Second edition.

They are then handed achieved both and all drivers are
as noted on the internett. And windows 98 is
Standard CD (not the CD from Toshiba). Both have the latest version of the BIOS.

Everything works fine, it's the only
    problem.

In Control Panel-> display->... you can specify
settings/energy savings. I think I turn off screen
After 2 minutes and turn off hard drive 5 minutes.

It works very well. The screen goes black, then I
can relight it by moving the pointer ('mouse').

But if I leave it for a long time and get to him,
then the screen stays black. (This is the problem).

But everything still works fine! ... and
I can do a controlled stop by pressing ctrl-alt-del
ALT - s, while the screen is black.

    Any ideas anyone?

    Hello

Portege models do you have? Because as you have explained, you use the power management MS which isn't one that fits!

You can watch http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com - Driver Downloads If the Toshiba Power Saver is available for your units and W98!

It may be that old W98 Powermanagement has problems with the complex of the portege series material is available on the Toshiba site standby power!

    Good luck

  • HP Pavilion g7 screen became black all in use.

Help, I was using my HP Pavilion g-7 the other day, while the game and the screen became black without reason appairent.  I have not loaded down recently and I run the anti-virus software.

We went to the HP support website and went through several diagnotics.  When you restart the laptop the screen on the laptop starts flashing images of my top of counter, but once the machine starts the screen remains empty.  You can see the glow on the edges, but that's all.  I have another connected currently monitor and the system works fine except for that.  We also have the following, hard reset, Test for memory modual problems, test the hard drive.  I also tried to update the video drivers, but the system tells me that the drivers do not work properly.

It's very frustrating because I'm a student and really need my laptop.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you in advance,

    ACameli

    Hi ACameli,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I read your thread on your HP Pavilion Notebook g7 and get a blank screen or black at startup. Try perform a reset. When you perform a hard reset note remove all USB devices and remove cards memory card reader location. Disconnect all non-essential devices. If that doesn't help try to turn on the computer, on which you begin to press F11 repeatedly until the menu opens. You can do a System Restore. System Restore will restore the computer to a time when it worked correctly. If you are able to see the book then connect to a monitor, it is not the graphics card or HARD drive. It could be the LED. The only way to find out is to check with a repair shop. LED can be tested in the DMM and they would have to this device. I'd be happy to help you to give you a number if necessary. How can I find my model number or product number?

    Please let me know.

    Thank you.

  • My screen goes black all in use

My screen goes black, as if sleep but I can't react. Have to close and restart. Have checked the power settings and all seems well.

I guess that you tried to shake the mouse and keys for you ensure that it is not a screen blanker.  If this isn't the case, it could be to power of 1) your screen goes out, 2) your computer video card has a problem, 3) that you have a virus or other malware.  If your monitor is longer than 2-3 years, I guess (1).  If it is not the monitor, I would like to start safe mode and do a system scan with antivirus program complete.    Note that some viruses can hide from your normal antivirus program, so you really need to scan mode without failure.  To enter in Safe Mode when you turn on first, press F8 on every seconds until you get the menu, and then select Safe Mode.  Then run a complete system scan.

If you don't find anything, I take it to a service technician and have it checked.

I hope this helps.  Good luck.

  • BlackBerry Z30 don't switch call to the speaker using the navigation. Screen went black accept after phone call.

I have this problem no need of me.

While driving and use any software of navigation, such as:

    1. built in maps

    2 Waze

    3 NavFree

If someone calls me, I can take the call. But immediately, the screen went black.

I can't switch the call to the speakerphone. After random seconds, to switch screen might look for a second glance, and then the entire screen turned black.

Although it is black screen, I can't do anything, including trying to drag up to close current app/call.

Maybe it's something to do with the Navigation periodly software disables screen timeout?

    Hello, Yes,.

Is this the same problem as described here:

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/BlackBerry-Z30/Z30-keeping-the-dial-pad-quot-lit-quot-when-in...

Discussion on how the screen turns black during a regular call, it is impossible, for example, to listen to a call and to have the keypad remains lit, so you can press the right numbers while dealing with an automated reception, was doing phone banking, or using any other system that relies on automated messages.

The problem came down to how some people take their phone (especially when trying to listen to the guests and press the right button at the same time).  The solution has been to hold the phone differently.  So my question would be whether the phone is blacking out because of the very special combination of things happening in your scenario, or is it blacking out because you're online and proximity sensor of the phone thinks you're holding it to your ear (and think that when you do this, you want to have blackened keypad).

  • 2012 MacBook Pro renovated migrated 8/20, screen has blacked out for the second time

can not force stop with long hold on the power button / stop. The first time was in the second day of use, after all the updates from app store. Screen was back the next morning. 4 GB of ram, mid-2012, os 10.11.6.

I have the same PBM and had a similar problem. One day I went to turn on my MBP and the screen was black.

It was seems to be dead. The screen was not lit. I tried the Mini external display port with a television by HDMI cable and adapter screen.

    https://www.Amazon.com/Sabrent-DisplayPort-Thunderbolt-adapter-da-MDHA/DP/B017NK IQ8M/ref = sr_1_5? ie = UTF8 & qid = 1471973756 & sr = 8-5 & keywords = + mini displayport + to + hdmi + 4 k

And the macbook worked fine with the TV. TV display showed MBP display very well.

This led me to believe that there is just something wrong with my screen LED on the MBP.

So I opened the back cover of the MBP and looked inside.

I saw the cable that connects the screen LED MBP to motherboard and disconnected it and then reinstall it.

I then closed the MBP and restarted.

IS!... LED MBP display worked again. If the problem was simply that the cable of the LED screen did not have a good connection. So, just to be disconnected and reconnected to make good contact.

This maybe off topic but it's worth a try. It may be your screen LED cable which does not have a good contact.

  • Windows 7 keeps closing my computer after 1 min of inactivity

Symptoms: The lock screen appears after 1 minute of inactivity.

Details: The computer is a laptop ASUS U46E under Windows 7 Home Premium. Screensaver increased wait to 999 minutes and unchecked "on Resume, protect by password". Past delays on power settings and the settings advanced. After all this, I have to restart to stop the annoying locking of computer. But after that I closed the lid of the laptop, which will put computer to sleep/hibernate, and then open it again, the question is always no matter what timeout settings. I tried to uninstall the Power4Gear, delivered power management software w / ASUS laptop and used Windows built in the balanced power plan.
It's really boring while watching a DVD. I tried everything I could find on the internet without success. Any help is appreciated.

    Hello

Did you go to options advanced power and on the left hand bar there is a link that says, I can choose the closing the cover. Then you look down windows and in the gray area, there are a few options and one that must be marked States request password on awake. Click on the link that says I would like to change the options and change. That should do it.
  • Equium A100 - 027 Vista: the screen goes black for just 1 second

I was wondering if anyone here can tell me what is the problem with my laptop. That's all new Toshiba Equium A100-027. Quite often, my screen will turn black for just a second, and then it will return to normal again.

I changed my power settings, so it is not because of the screen laptop will. Most of the time, it's going to happen when I run the program in full-screen on real player, but it happens when I play mahjong titans which is included in microsoft vista.

HM, just a small suggestion to check if you have a hardware related problem or some software:

Connect your laptop to an external monitor and see if the problem still occurs.
If the problem occurs with an external monitor then check that you have installed the software and try uninstalling the last installed software, perhaps the best will be step by step.

So if all else fails, then try a recovery.
