Windows experience index - could not measure the performance of video playback

Running win7 64 bit home edition

NVIDIA GTX 280

Creative x - fi gamer

Asus p5n - d motherboard

All drivers up to date

BIOS update

to update WMP

has run sfc - no problem

When I first ran WEI got a rating of 5.5. Since then, the only thing I changed is that I switched from AVG Antivirus Essentials antivirus window.

I have not changed anything else.

Here is my log:

I do not know; I don't check the newspaper.

But, my problem was solved.

I made two changes before it was fixed.

First of all, I added more RAM. But this was not (directly) affect or correct the problem.  In addition, I was running the same amount of RAM (2 GB) before without problem.

Second, following the second installation I had made another change.  I had created a virtual disk and put the TEMP folder.

The problem went away (performance index worked) after I changed the place of C: TEMP.  But, I also tested with her to the RAMDISK and it works.  However, after that I set the TEMP to C:\, I also increased the size of the Ramdisk of 350 MB to 1 GB.  It works fine now.

So, maybe this might help someone.  Better than I could understand, the ability of the TEMP folder was too small for the test to be performed.  This seems to be the most logical explanation (by simple deduction).

I'd be curious to know if others had the same problem and the solution.  Or, if one solution.  At least, I would have more certainty as to the cause of the problem.

My pc is not yet rated. When I click on rate appears on this computer, a msg error saying that Windows Experience Index for your system could not be calculated, could not measure the PERFORMANCE of VIDEO PLAYBACK. What should I do. Help, please

    Hello

Here are a few things to check before launching performance index Windows (WEI).

    • Quit all running programs, and restart the computer before running the assessment (WEI).
    • Check with the manufacturer of the computer or the motherboard manufacturer for BIOS updates.
    • Make sure you have the latest Windows 7 compatible drivers for the graphics device installed (video card).
    • If you have any third-party media players installed, uninstall them until the end of the evaluation of the WEI.
    • If you have installed any third-party Media Codecs, try to uninstall them until the end of the evaluation of the WEI.

Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the folder C:\WINDOWS\Performance\WinSAT .

You should see the following 8 videos.

    2 files with .mp4 extension.

3 files with the .mpg file extension.

3 files with .wmv file extension.

Double-click each of these files. They should open and play in Windows Media Player. These are the files that WEI runs video performance.

One thing to remember is that the WEI score is only an indicator of the ability of the main components of hardware on the computer. It has no effect on the performance of the system.

    Tell us what you find.

First of all I'm new to the forum, Please warn me if I posted in the wrong section, or did something wrong.

I have a laptop, (x 86) Win7 Home Premium. Before posting, I tried everything Microsoft sugguests and nothing will do, as the update of the graphics card, etc. WEI did not work as usual today, I got the problem said: could not measure the performance of video playback.

    Please help, THX 1 billion

    Hello Derek,.

Please keep us updated on the status of the issue.

I'm sorry for the late reply.

The IFE can be used to show what part of the system should provide the largest increase in performance when it is upgraded. For example, a computer with the lower under-score in his memory, would benefit more than an upgrade of RAM to add a faster hard drive (or any other component).

  • 500 Dignostics Performance event. could not measure the performance of video playback

    Hello

Could someone help me with the problem of (the windows experience index) when I run the assessment I get the message (could not measure the performance of video playback).

    Hello

    ·         You have made no changes to the computer until the problem occurred?

    ·         What is the full error message or code that you get?

Event ID 500 is mainly caused by the excessive use of graphical subsystem, which is controlled by the process dwm.exe. DWM.exe is a Desktop Window Manager and is responsible for the graphics effects in Windows operating system such as 3-d effects, previews of windows and transparencies to windows live.

I suggest to disable all of the features of "Aero", such as the use of classic Windows rather than the Windows Aero feature, stopping using 3D desktop and so on, in order to reduce excessive system resource occupancy rates. If possible, you could develop RAM to increase performance of the system to check if the event has not changed.

You can also try to update the graphics driver and check if it helps. To do so follow the link below:

  • Windows experience index does not work

    THE PROBLEM:
When I try to run WEI (Windows experience index) I get this error message:
"Windows Experience Index for your system could not be calculated.
Could not measure the performance of storage. The temporary file necessary to perform work
could not be placed on the drive. Unable to find a drive for the file. »

Now of importance that I did to try to fix the problem, that nothing worked.
Some facts related to the reason why the error occurs:
    1. my computer is a dual boot Vista and W7.
2 WEI worked perfectly when I first installed W7.
3 W7 is on B:\ drive. The Device Manager shows: System, starting, Active, dump, primary Partition
4 when I started using W7, I noticed a lot of many duplicates of files in libraries.
    5. not knowing what was the role of the library, I have deleted many, if not all the files into it.
    6. Accordingly, I may be wrong deleted files than WEI needs to operate.
7 there is no Winstat.exe anywhere on my computer
    8. I ran SFC and he finds errors, but running WEI always produces the same error message.
Windows resource protection found corrupt files and to repair the.
    Details are provided in the
    CBS. Journal windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log.
    For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log
    9. However, strangely, it will run in the use of BACK: formal B:\Windows\system32>winsat
    10. the result is:
    Read 94,82 6.5 MB/s sequential 64.0 disc
    Random disk reading 16.0 1.83 MB/s 4.1

After the quick fix for the problem of the text in Firefox, I hope there is an easy solution to this problem.

    Thanks for any help.

    Brian

    PA bear,

    Thanks for all the help.

I decided to just leave things they way they are.

Almost everything works perfectly on my computer now.

And I learned that too much intervention can cause more problems.

To devote more time to it is not a good use of my time or yours.

I can't justify to devote more time to this.

It would be preferable for you to spent time with someone who has a real problem.

I can easily run WEI with a command prompt, it is therefore essential to set of WEI.

    Thanks again.

    Best regards

    Brian

  • Windows experience index will not calculate my system performance

Just upgraded to 7. All fine but windows experience index will not work. It crosses all the way and then tells me it cannot calculate the performance of my system. I rebooted and tried several times... Any help?
    Thank you

Thanks for the tips, but none of these apply, checked the drivers. My ATI Radeon x 1300 doesn't have dedicated windows 7 driver but is the most up-to-date

  • Windows 10 we could not update the system reserved partition

I have windows 7 Home Edition premium, no idea why it says windows 10 we could not update the partition system reserved when I try and update?

    • Make sure you have enough disk space.
    • Although the recommended minimum requirements are 16 GB (32-bit), 20 GB (64-bit), if you upgrade from a previous version of Windows or a previous version, you will need to have at least 40-50 GB of free space to accommodate the installation files.
    • First run Disk Clean up.
    • Archive files rarely used to an external hard drive.
    • Consider data synchronization to OneDrive or similar online service and do a custom installation.
    • Turn off (preferably uninstall) your Antivirus utility before you perform the upgrade.
    • Disable the general USB peripherals (for example - smart card reader).
    • Do a clean boot, and then try again.
    • If you upgrade to the. ISO file, disconnect from the Internet during the installation, if you are connected in LAN (Ethernet) or wireless, disable both and try the installation again.
    • If you update via Windows Update, when download reaches 100%, disconnect the Internet LAN (Ethernet) or wireless, and proceed with the installation.
    • If this does not work, try using the. ISO file to upgrade if possible.
    • If you are connected to a domain, go to a local account
    • If you have an external equipment, attached to the machine, unplug them (e.g., USB sticks, external hard drive, printers, peripheral non-essential).

  • Windows experience index will not refresh

I just installed 64-bit Windows 7 Professional (32 bit Home Premium) with a custom installation. I use aero, so when I went to check my Windows Experience index, I saw that it was 1.0 for both the graphics settings. I've updated my restarted graphics driver. Whenever I hit the button refresh index experience, its starts fine, but before finishing it said "Windows experience Index for your system could not be calculated." I tried the bios update, but that did not help. All my drivers are up-to-date. A way to solve this problem?

Check your winsat.log file and see if it indicates that this is the error. You can delete the .xml files in the winsat DATA and starting from an elevated command prompt, try the formal line of command "winsat" without the quotes to see if it works that way. I found that my anti virus program (Kaspersky) blocked WEI to save the results. Disabeling Kaspersky did not. You need to uninstall, run WEI, then reinstall Kaspersky.

  • Impossible to install windows 8 - we could not verify the product key

    Hello

I have a HP G laptop computer series. The laptop comes with Windows 7. I. I upgraded to WIN 8 pro when windows 8 has been released. Recently, my laptop hard drive crashed completely due to bad sectors. I replaced with a new hard drive and tried to install WIN 8 from a dvd disk created from Windows download site.

Now, the installation fails in the "enter product key to activate windows. The error is , we could not verify the product key. Please check your installation media.

What can I do here? I can't install Windows 7 also because my laptop didn't come with a backup installation disk but just a restore system partition that get lost with swap HDD too.

I was struck here for weeks. Please help me.

To install Windows 8, you must have a previous Version (XP Sp3, Vista or Windows 7) installed at installation time. Your RESUME must have given you the opportunity to make a series of DVD of Windows 7, when you first start using your computer. If you have done these and then use them for the recovery of Windows 7 on your computer and then update for Windows 8.0. If you don't do this why? Your other option is to contact HP support and have then send you a recovery of Windows 7 DVD set. They will charge a small fee for these to help cover their costs.

Hope this helps and if you need any additional aid station and we will be happy to help you.

    Hello

As far as I know, that it cannot be changed by changing the material, so I'm afraid you're stuck with you never you have, if you try to run some high end games you can try to disable Aero in order to free up some memory on your graphics card :)
