  Dear Experts,

  We have an ESXi 5.1.0 (build 1065491) host and I wanted to install a vm of Windows 2012 R2 server. Although the drop OS had only "Windows Server 2012" listed, we were still able to install a Windows 2012 R2 server. Servers seem to work very well - it's OK to have 2012R2 running on the ESXi 5.1.0 host? When we have the opportunity to upgrade to 5.5 should you change the version of the OS from 2012 to 2012R2 for this virtual machine?

  as you can see, w2k12 r2 is supported only with U2 5.0 or newer:

  Moreover, you will never see 2012 r2 as operating system for select guest. Don't know why but it of like that because 2012 probabelly and r2 are very similar and not necessary for the difference...

  I have esxi 5.5 U3 and still no option to select with 2012 r2. vpshere 6.0, it is always the same...

  Dear all,

  I use Windows server 2012 as a server file only with 64 GB RAM and 16-core intel Xeon and size of shared file is only 800 GB. problem is that after a few rate of file transfer from client to server got time slowing down as below.

  copy data between client to server transfer rate are ok (60 MB/s)

  copy data between transfer of client server are low (200 Kb/s)

  whenever I rebooted the file server, it worked super fast, but after a few hours I get this question with transfer rate.

  can someone help me with this regard.

• Suspension of consistent application on Windows Server 2012 invited with U2 ESXi 5.0

  We lack ESXi 5.0 U2 (build 1254542) and we are going to have problems making consistent application paused on our virtual machines that are running Windows Server 2012.

  If I have to run ESXi 5.1, 5.0 to 5.1 ESXi licenses are worth?  (We have the 5 Essentials license Server vCenter).

  If I have to run ESXi 5.1, must I also improve our vCenter Server installation of 5 to 5.1?

  Has anyone having problems installing gui Windows Server 2012 under ESXi 5 version?  Whenever I try to install the operating system, after it restarts the machine of the adaptation of the files from the disk, it sits on a loading screen without end (the blue windows icon with a circle of white dots).  I tried redownloading my ISO from Microsoft Licensing Panel twice, recreating the virtual machine from scratch, but I get the same result every time.

  But I can debug comments Windows Server 2012 and Windows 8 on network without any problems. Also I can debug Windows Server R2 2012 on Oracle VirtualBox network.

  I had a few goes at it and it's not like you can virtualize a TPM. It would make sense if it was the case - the secure TPM was not designed to manage multiple instances of the OS.

  I ended up making USB passthrough on a USB stick and have the Bitlocker key stored on this stick as a demo. Certainly not a transaction supported, but it showed that the storage of key seems to be the only issue.

  2. If someone has a better knowledge of why this happens or how avoid feel free to explain it please.

  The scenario:

  I was a new analysis a HBA via the Web Client (something I've done many times before in the non-Web client without any problem...) and loses connectivity to the ESXi host. No response from the ESXi at all and I've noticed a GROUP... That's fine for now...

  The biggest problem is that the VM on the failed host installs via HA to my other ESXi in the cluster, each of them has started normally except my 2012 server s. Just the Automatic Startup Repair Wizard has started, and I couldn't do much from there... I tried a few things auto repair, but they could not fill...

  So, I entered the command line tools and ran from diskpart. Discs not presented at all. That's where he hit that I use PVSCSI drivers for my 2012 s server so I was trying to understand how I could inject the command line, but I tried something else first...
  I started the virtual machine on the ISO 2012 server. Tried the option repair, no OS not found to fix, so I chose a new installation and loaded drivers PVSCSI pvscsi-floppy, interrupted the installation and tried the repair option again.   I am running vSphere 5.5 and I don't think that I had this problem with 5.0 or 5.1, but I'm not 100% sure that cause I don't remember no matter which GROUP or another that are running older versions of the failure.

  Finally, I solved this... Looks like a mistake to the EFI initialization after reset of a HA. I know EFI is not supported by FT but I'm only using HA I can't find anywhere that it says that it should not work.

  This is how I fixed the corrupt WS2012 boots:

  1 boot WS2012 ISO, select new installation, load drivers PVSCSI, interrupt installation and choose repair. (Only needed if PVSCI-pilot helps you bootdisk)
  2. choose Help and then command Promt
  3. Run diskpart
  flight type list
  Locate the number of the partition-small FAT32 EFI, in my case nr 3
  Salt type flight 3

  type assign

  flight type list

  Choose the letter assigned, in my case E:
  Type exit

  4 cd /d e:\efi\microsoft\boot

  5 ren BCD BCD.bak

  6 bcdboot c:\windows/l en-us/s E: /f ALL

  7 bootrec /fixmbr

  Bootrec /fixboot

  Bootrec /scanos

  Bootrec /rebuildbcd

  Don't know if all these are necessary... However, it works. Note that the scanos and rebuildbcd show 0 found BONES.

  8 exit the command prompt and click on "Continue starting the server 2012" after that recharge should work properly again.

  El caso are that I have 2 servers DELL PowerEdge R420 fisicos identicos, cada uno con ellos 3 VMs sober instaladas VMware Workstation 9. The first virtual machine are an image of Kerio control, a second virtual machine to Windows Server 2012 con dominio Controladora, is the third VM con WS2012're donde quiero crear el cluster con dominio usuario. ESTOS servidores knew vez esta una cabina data via iSCSI connected.

• FT-record/replay feature is not supported by this virtual machine Windows Server 2012

  Recently I came across a bug when I created a virtual machine with the latest versions of 5.1.0 - ESXi 838463, Client ver 5.1.0 - 860230, vCenter ver 5.1.0 - 880146.  If you create a virtual machine on a Server Windows 2012 farm for some reason any recording/playback is disabled and you cannot implement fault tolerance mode.  I found a good solution.  You delete the virtual machine to inventory, and then re-create the virtual machine as a Windows 2008 R2 server and use the virtual machine that you deleted from the original disc of the inventory rather than create a new one.  Then turn on FT.  Then, go into the settings and change the operating system to Windows Server 2012.   Fixed a problem.  If all goes well they will fix this soon.

  Default adapter for windows 2012 is E1000E, which is not supported for RecordReplay FT.  If this is the case can you please try with another network card and see if it helps.

  If this is not the case, can you please upload vm-support bundle or file a support ticket.
